Pub atmosphere was fantastic - a warm welcome, a hearty meal at a reasonable price, excellent ale. Busy for a Monday but not noisy or crowded - just what a proper pub feel should be. Hotel room was really good - large and spotless and very well-appointed. Easy access from car for luggage. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. Staff were very friendly, welcoming and efficient. We were very impressed by the Upham chain and will look to stay with them again in the future if the other inns/hotels are as good as the White Hart.

We really liked its close location to where we were visiting. The food was lovely and hot and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Thought the meals were expensive expecially the burgers. £25 for a decent one but then the small print says 10% gratuity will be added to bill unless you tell the waiter to remove it. So £27.50 for a decent burger. So went to nearby chippy. Tipping is getting like America now..just for bringing one main meal over to a table.

Very hot room even with a fan. Shower vould have been cleaner not bad had to give it a wipe around before we used it. Broken glass soap dispenser in shower should have been changed hope they have before the next guests arrive.

We couldn’t get the window to stay open so we used a cup to allow some airflow. There was a fan provided, thank goodness as that helped us sleep on a very hot night. The bathroom was needing a little TLC with a loose loo seat, and a good scrub of bleach on areas on minor mould. Excellent shower & huge comfortable bed. When reporting the loo seat was loose we were told a replacement was being fitted that morning after we check out. Otherwise not much to dislike.

Very clean and comfortable bed, Nespresso coffee machine with good coffee pods , great selection of teas in the room and proper milk if needed, pleasant toiletries provided. Really good selection of breakfast choices which were well presented and very tasty!

The cold tap in the bathroom made a loud noise when turned on. The bathroom had a musty / damp smell. However it was clean and well equipped.

Spacious room on the pub property. Our room was across the car park so was very quiet with no noise from the outdoor pub area. The room had music playing, cold water waiting, fan running to cool the room on a hot day, and was very clean. Such a nice welcome! We were able to park our motorcycle immediately outside the room and see it from the window. Dinner in the pub was very pleasant. Nice conversations with others near our table. Great food!

Add air conditioning for hot days. Sorry, a very American ask ;-).

We needed two rooms, one was in the main hotel, which was a charming character property, the other room was in the stables at the side of the property, this room was very modernised and spacious (the character property room was smaller, but fine for our purposes), both were en-suite. Everything was super clean and in working order, no complaints about either room or the staff who were really accommodating from the moment we arrived. The property has its own pub and restaurant, serving great food at reasonable prices (10/10 for the English breakfast). A really pleasant place to stay.

It isn’t the property’s fault we arrived in one of this year’s heatwaves. I doubt you can install air conditioning in a 16th century building anyway, we found it a little warm, the stables were cooler.

A bit dated and could do with some modernisation in the bedrooms. Walls had some huge cracks but overall a nice place.

Staff were lovely and cheerful the whole time, trying to sort out the impossible task of making our room a little cooler.

So so hot it was actually like a sauna! No other rooms available and they brought us an additional fan and were helpful, but the heat was radiating from the ceiling and in my opinion should not have been let out or they should provide some air conditioning. I normally love the heat but this was terrible. The fan was just circulating hot air so we mostly left our door open as the corridor was cooler or went downstairs to the bar.

Bedienung bei Anreise (wir waren etwas früh) etwas unhöflich. Aufgrund des Wetters war es unerträglich heiß im Zimmer. Es gab zwar einen Ventilator, aber der half nur wenig. Fenster nicht weit zu öffnen. Sowohl der Abfluss der Dusche als auch der des Waschbeckens sind verstopft und laufen nur sehr langsam ab.

The room was unbearably hot, and the 1x fan did little to appease the hot weather, the room was so warm that the pillows on the bed were warm to touch. The car park was always full, found it hard to somewhere to park

Veramente tutto perfetto, da un hotel della campagna inglese non ci si può aspettare di più. Accolti col sorriso (nonostante il nostro pessimo inglese) da personale sempre gentile e sorridente. Camera arredata in stile inglese con tutte le comodità, ristorante/pub dove abbiamo mangiato e bevuto bene e parcheggio per la moto di fronte alla stanza. Ottima anche la colazione, con prodotti freschi e preparati al momento.

After my previous visit some 8 months ago I didn't think I would be staying here again, But needs must and at short notice this was the only availability close to where I was working away at. The hotel stepped up to the mark and a massive improvement to my previous visit. The room was spot on this time, coffee/milk and water was stocked and ready for a guest, the food in the restaurant was far better and much improved, The staff very Friendly as always,

the Heat, not the fault of the hotel, no A/C but can't be helped, they did provide a tower fan but blowing hot air around the room,

Super vriendelijk personeel, prima diner en echt een super netjes ontbijt met keuzes vanaf de kaart en op tafel heerlijk verse croissantjes en andere pasterie. Heerlijk sapjes, yohgurt. Echt top!

Hier kunnen ze helaas niks aan doen, maar de dag toen wij er waren was het 38 graden en dan is het op een kamer zonder AC niet te doen. Helaas 1 dag eerder moeten uitchecken daardoor. Komt omdat het een monumenten pand is en ze geen AC mogen plaatsen. Voor de rest echt een prima plek.

Gekozen ivm Bombay Sapphire bezoek. Gezellige locatie, zoveel sfeer. Het karakter van het oude gebouw, scheve trap, bukken bij de deuren. Prachtige grote kamer, oude stijl maar met alle moderne gemakken, mooie ingerichte badkamer. Super gegeten ook!

It is a magnificently restored 16th century pub with up to date bathroom facilities. Overton is a lovely village/town and there are some good walks in the area. Perfect location for visiting Bombay Sapphire!

Turning right out of the car park with the traffic Light system at the crossroads was very tricky!

Sam and the team were honestly fantastic. But beware the food portions were huge.

Absolutely no fault of the staff but the room did get a tad hot, however it was indeed the hottest May bank holiday on record.

Liked stable room on ground floor. Put on first floor for first night poor communication between yourselves and hotel very upset but happy staff solved problem. Ground floor room larger more comfortable. Bed comfortable facilities good.

Nice room in the Stable Block, with a good shower, heated towel rail and I loved the Nespresso machine and cookies! The staff were so friendly and helpful, and really enhanced the stay.

Rooms need a bit of redecoration, looking a bit tired now. We left a phone charger in the room. We reported it same morning and had a phone call back to say nothing had been headed in. No one could have checked in yet so i suspect someone isn’t being honest. This leaves a sour taste in your mouth….

Clean comfortable stylish rooms. Lovely staff, Charmaine, Alex and Liv in particular. Breakfast was delicious with loads of choice, as were evening meals. Great value for money.

I've stayed at the White Hart Overton a few times now. I like the fact it is right in the centre of the village and only a 5 minute walk from my daughters house. I've stayed upstairs and in the Stables - which i love. Everything is supplied and tidied daily and replenished. The staff are always friendly and the seating is atmospheric.

Hmmm ... perhaps the coffee machine at the bar could be hotter?

We had a great 2 night stay at The White Heart in Overton. The images of the b&b on booking.com. don't do it justice. It's well looked after, the staff are helpful and friendly and we had a wonderful stay and will definitely come back. Charmaine was with us for both breakfasts, an asset to the team and very attentive and always got our day off to a great start. There was a heater and fan in the room so it was well equipped for whatever your preference is. Breakfast was very good

This was a beautiful pub/hotel in a great location for our trip. Like many British hotels, there are perks for booking on their own site. We never would have found this hotel without using Booking.com, the only reason we stayed here was it came up in the filter I made at Booking.com. It might be a good idea to give the perks to international guests who book through Booking.com? This is a heritage building and that makes some quirky features like crooked floors and odd head banging ceilings in the pub but don't let that scare you, this was a great place to stay. My wife made dinner reservations at the White Hart in Ostler, we all got a good chuckle out of that and they had room for us for dinner.

The pancakes. Those round things you called pancakes bear very little resemblance to the real thing. A pancake should be fluffy, like cake. You are not the only British hotel passing off dough pucks as pancakes.

Location was very good. Staff friendly a d helpful. Beds were very comfortable as were the pillows.

Strangely I keep receiving messages from them in Booking saying that I should book with them directly, like an automatic email. this was quite few times. No coffee or tea in the room, it has kettle and coffee, but not able to use it with out this.

The curtain rail in my room was hanging off and the area where I had breakfast wasn’t very clean. Unfortunately I was given the wrong times for late check out, so I was chased up by house-keeping!

Perfect location for the party we attended. Staff were amazing and breakfast was delicious 😋 The room was lovely (lovely touch with the shortbread) and a very comfortable nights sleep.

Very comfortable, room lovely soft beds. The bathroom was spacious and modern. Lovely claw foot bath and Large walk in shower. We came down for my granddaughters wedding in Basingstoke. We had a lovely time.

The heating in the room did not work. The room was a bit shabby with broken window and unfinished plaster. There was no coffee. The hot water was not very hot. The food was over priced for what it was. £6.45 for chips! The staff missed the order. Some staff were not very pleasant.

Location is good, both the room and the pub was lovely. The continental breakfast was really good but I didn’t much like the bacon sandwich as I’d asked for it well done but it came out as normal. I’m being pretty picky though, overall the stay was excellent.

The walls are quite thin. I could hear pretty much everything from the room next door. Also, the housekeeping staff let themselves in before I’d checked out. Luckily I was dressed! It wouldn’t put me off staying again as I’m sure this is rare.
