Historisches Gasthaus, das in die Jahre gekommen ist. Das merkt man an allen Ecken und Enden. Das Zimmer war allerdings sauber, was Betten und Badezimmer betrifft, nur der Teppich und ein Sessel waren sehr fleckig. Der Toilettendeckel war locker, so dsss es immer wieder passiert ist, dass er verrutschte und man plötzlich teilweise auf der Porzellanschüssel saß. Sehr unangenehm. Das Frühstück war in Ordnung. Insgesamt war es für eine Übernachtung okay. Überhaupt nicht empfehlen kann ich das Restaurant. Die Speisen waren sehr lieblos angerichtet und viel zu teuer. Den winzigen Burger ohne Schnickschnack mit matschigen Pommes hätten wir bei einer Fastfood-Kette besser und vor allem billiger bekommen. Dass der Besitzer und Koch früher in Sternerestaurants gekocht haben soll, kann man nicht glauben. Auch das Bedienungspersonal war eher unambitioniert bis überfordert.

Room decoration was tired, bathroom in poor condition with an excessively noisy extract fan. Beds uncomfortable. Road noise was loud.

The highlight was the man cooking breakfast, I believe it was arranged for him to have the food early for us as we had to leave for the airport. It is a budget hotel. It's quite dirty, especially the pub. It needs a good look over and deep clean and maintenance. Nothing to do in the area. It was a cheap place to stay.

Ideal location as an overnight stop. Lady who checked us in and served at the bar was friendly.

Tired and didn’t feel entirely clean. Lights didn’t come on when going upstairs to your room. Water in the room was cool - there is a message about this in the room but the water didn’t get warm. Food expensive for what was served. Approx £22 for a steak pie with cheap pastry.

Breakfast was good. Lots of hot water for showering. Lovely friendly staff member on breakfast duty.

Room tatty, mis-matching taps in the bathroom, rusty radiator, lumpy duvet, tv blocking the mirror, threadbare carpets, sticky tables in the bar and lounge area. Restaurant food ok, curry was very overpriced. Overall not a 3 Star property.

Lovely big room, clean and comfy bed. Nice towels and shower ok. Nice place to stay. A few things that could be better. Really lacking on plug sockets in room to charge phones etc. I found 1 which was located under a unit. Breakfast was ok but only scrambled egg, sausage & bacon on offer. Some mushrooms, tomatoes or black pud would've been nice. The staff we met were very nice and the guy in the kitchen was chatty, really nice fella. On the whole this is a nice place to stay

The meal we had in the pub in the evening of our stay was tasty and the staff were friendly.

This was one of our one-night stays during a recent family holiday and this was by far the worst (as well as being the most expensive). The family room was dingy and stale, and the bath was unclean with visible mould on the tiles. The bedding was shabby and the carpets stained. Whilst served by friendly staff the breakfast was poor quality and very limited. This hotel needs a complete overhaul and significant investment.

The location has handy as part of a longer drive to the Western Isles. We arrived late and the key was left out no problem. The breakfast was good and the staff were helpful when it came to food allergies

The family room was a good size although felt a little musty on arrival. There weren't any staff around on arrival and were also fairly scarce in the morning, but helpful when they were about

Had a stay booked with them, booked via Booking.com, received a refund from Booking.com half an hour before check-in, informing me that the hotel has cancelled my booking due to over booking the rooms. Tried phoning the hotel, no answer left a voicemail and no return call. Really poor as left our stay in the area needing to be rearranged at short notice - won’t book with them again.

Location close to where I needed to be. Clean sheets and towels, tea and biscuits in the room, breakfastcwas good.

Stanza e bagno estremamente puliti, stanza (dormitorio per 3 persone ma occupato da due) piccola ma con tutto ciò che serve.

La porta del bagno era difficile da aprire e chiudere (la maniglia tendeva a staccarsi dall'interno); da riparare.

The room was lovely and clean and we had coffee making facilities which were much appreciated after a long drive. The breakfast choice was great and overall it was a lovely stop off on our way to Applecross.

I would probably book the room with ensuite next time

Awful. Hate to say it but genuinely the worst hotel I've stayed in, and I rough it quite often. Was filthy.. cobwebs and spiders everywhere.. had black mould on the window. My bed looked and felt like it had been dragged off of the street and the mattress was like a sheet of ply wood. If it wasn't so late I would have tried to get a room at the travelodge up the road. No one slept very well at all. Attempted to try the breakfast that started at 7:30, we got down at 8:00 and all the hot stuff was gone except the sausages so just had a quick cuppa and went for breakfast elsewhere.

It was close to our relatives residence, cheaper than most we stay in. The staff were the best part of the stay, the chef went over and above, lovely man

The doors in the corridor were slamming most of the days and nights, shook us up a few times, literally shook the room! Not much on the menu but it was cooked well and served nicely.

It was located in a nice area and there was a homely feeling when you walked in with the wingback chairs on the left

The room was very tired and the beds were extremely uncomfortable. The sash and case window was being held up by an ornament and the sink was very small for a wash. The room looked very tired and could do with a refresh. There was also a shared bathroom which I did not realise otherwise I would not have booked it. It was at the end of the corridor and was often occupied when I went to visit so my daughter and I had to use the downstairs toilet next to the kitchen and bar :-(. The shared bathroom was small and it was located next to a small room where there was someone watching tv loudly in a linen cupboard although there appeared to be a bed in there too. I didn't get much sleep as the floorbaords were very noisy and as we were located next to the stairs we could hear evey movement including the noise of people turning over in bed next door! My daughter was competing in a competition early the next morning so we went downstairs for breakfast early and we were informed by three other travellers that the chef was poorly and there was no-one to cook breakfast. An employee was trying to sort the breakfast situation out however there wasn't really anything to eat so I had a slice of toast and my daughter had cereal (only cornflakes or rice pops to choose from), no juice or nothing. I was very disappointed. I planned to wash my hair the night before as we were having an early start so I asked reception for a hairdryer which never appeared. I eventually washed my hair as it was getting late and I had to ask for a hairdryer another two times before I received it. Overall I was very disappointed with our stay and I think it could be a lovely hotel if they upgraded the rooms (and added bathrooms) and sorted the staff situation out (I'm not sure if they were short staffed but everyone seemed stressed). Unfortunately we left very tired and very hungry and will not be returning.

Das Personal. Der Koch Toni war sehr freundlich. Der Gemeinschaftsraum/Wonhzimmer war sehr gut eingerichtet. Richtig alt schottisch.

Stilvolles Hauptgebäude, gutes Abendessen und Frühstück, ausreichend Parkplätze.

Der Zugang zu den Zimmern im Barackentrakt sowie die Zimmer selbst waren schlecht belüftet, es war extrem heiß und ungemütlich.

The staff were welcoming and the beds were comfy. We had a basic bedroom with a shared bathroom.

It seemed no one was checking on the shared bathroom and there was water running down as it couldn't be stopped. There were soaking wet dirty towels left on the floor. The breakfast we were offered was as far as possible from the photos. We went about 20 minutes after breakfast starts and of the hot food there were only sausages and bacon left. There was no personnel around, no one was coming to check if anything needed topping up and by the time someone was available (at the front desk, not in the kitchen and it seemed she was on her own), it was nearly the end of breakfast anyway. At one point there were no clean mugs. Overall very poorly managed per my impression.

Very tired rooms , room wasn’t ready , had to wait 1.1/2 hours. Breakfast wasn’t the best . Could be the bees knees with a little TLT

Large spacious bedroom, clean facilities, excellent food in the evening. Delicious burger, curry and pie all enjoyed by us.

No one on reception in the morning for breakfast meant it was chaotic and people were unsure of where to sit and how to get staffs attention when food had run out. Also some of the lights didn't work in the room and the door was cracked around the lock.

The bar area and restaurant area looked nice but we didn't use them as we checked out soon after checking in. The staff were pleasant especially the manager who helped to organise a full refund.

The smell and dirtiness of room 7. The beds were hard and unstable. It was a very small room for three people. Room 15 was basic but ok. The bathroom for room was tired and noisy. The shared bathroom for room 7 was disgusting and the door didn't close properly. The communal area away from the bar area was old, old and in some parts in a state of disrepair with broken door handles and loose power sockets. We have never had to leave a place before.

Chambre propre et de taille correcte pour trois adultes, la douche et les toilettes sur le palier, dans la même pièce, en partage avec l'étage, ce qui a compliqué son usage. Coté pub et restaurant très bien, nous y avons diné le soir et c'était très bon. Petit-déjeuner copieux, format buffet, qui permet de ne pas gaspiller et de choisir ce qu'on aime.

Nous savions que nous avions pris une salle de bain/toilette partagée mais nous ne nous attendions pas à un usage pour un étage. Alors un conseil, choisissez une chambre avec salle de bain privative, cela vous facilitera la vie. C'est ce que nous ferions si nous devions y revenir un jour.

La chambre lit trop petit 140cm , humidité ambiante , service d’étage absent ( essuies et lit remplacés une seule fois sur 7 nuits. Pas de sèche cheveux . Près d’une route très fréquentée donc bruyante.

Ontzettend vriendelijk personeel! Het avond eten van absoluut top! Kamer was wat gedateerd maar prima verzorgd!

Aan de voorkant waar onze kamer was is een doorgaande weg en die hoor je.

Front of house staff were efficient but impersonal and not very friendly.

Hotel requires some serious TLC. Cleanliness could be improved. Health and Safety could be improved and the food seriously improved.

Massive room, great for our large family! Perfect location for our horse show just down the road. Breakfast was great! We had dinner in the hotel and it was brilannf to!

The hotel sits right on a busy road on a corner , the parking is across the road - travelling with young kids did make things a little trickier due to this- not a fault of the hotel but just something to be mindful of if travelling with toddlers.

One of the staff member was quite rude. He switched off the lights in the common pathway leading to the toilets and asked us not to use the restroom, claiming that it was disturbing his sleep. This behavior was disappointing and negatively affected our experience.

We arrived late but they kept the kitchen open to feed us which was greatly appreciated. Good parking right next door, it's a little tucked away, but I like that! Food was great and the bar friendly! Nice work :)

The area lovely quiet and not too big . The staff very friendly and even when they were busy had time to chat. The evening meal beautiful like granny would made and breakfast/room excellent set you up for the day.

Our rooms were on the road so it was quite noisy and curtains are thin so very light from early morning.

Room was quiet but quite a long way from the entrance and up a spiral staircase which made access with our necessary, and heavy, luggage a bit difficult. Anyone with mobility issues should be aware. Dinner was quite acceptable.

Breakfast was a bit rudimentary with only one person doing everything. TWO sockets in Room 14 were faulty. one on the back wall did not work and the twin between the beds had only one side working.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The evening meal was excellent, as was the breakfast.

The hotel is lovely. The food was fresh and plentiful. The price we paid was so reasonable and was the main reason we booked.

I didn't realise we were sharing the bathroom with a few other rooms. We arrived after 9.30 to a dark reception with everyones keys left on an invoice. Room 7 definitely needs a clean or paint. We couldn't open the window in the recent heatwave but we only booked one night. I would say the price we paid was reflected in what we got. Beds were comfy though! Breakfast being included was definitely a bonus.....
