Areti Suites Chania

We arrived in the early hours after a much delayed flight to a very warm & cheerful welcome! Our room was lovely with a fantastic terrace overlooking the pool. Breakfast was tasty. We certainly would love to return here!

Der Aufenthalt war für uns mehr Mittel zum Zweck. Wir haben eine Nacht hier übernachtet, da unser Flug sehr früh ging. Die Nähe zum Flughafen ist super. Das Zimmer und auch der Balkon waren groß und sauber, auch wenn etwas altmodischer. Die Unterkunft hat einen Pool sowie Frühstück (haben wir zeitlich nicht nutzen können). Die generelle Geräuschkulisse war leider laut. Fazit: Für eine Nacht war es absolut in Ordnung.

I only stayed one night as i arrived late at night and it is so close to the airport. I wil definitely return. Gorgeous Apartment, mine was a duplex and had a bathroom and balcony on both floors. The upstairs balcony was huge. Great shower and Air conditioning. Free buffet breakfast with a great selection. Excellent.

Our stay at Areti Suites was very nice. The staff were welcoming and spoke English, which helped. The property itself feels like a Greek villa with whitewashed walls, red-tiled roofs, wide balconies, and terraces that open to the countryside. It is not overly modern or fancy, but it is clean, stylish, and true to the local architecture. The gardens and patio areas give it a peaceful, open feel, more like a home than a hotel. The photos online do not really show how charming it is in person. Before arriving, I did not receive any confirmation or clear communication from the hotel, which made me a little nervous since I have had issues with Expedia reservations in the past. Once we got there, everything went smoothly. The suite was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a highlight, with a buffet of Greek cuisine and plenty of options, plus outdoor seating to enjoy the morning air. At night we left the windows open and heard the everyday neighborhood sounds of dogs, roosters, and people, which I really enjoyed. For travelers: rooms have a mini fridge but no microwave or way to heat food. Also, the power shuts off when you take your key card, which means the fridge turns off too. If you bring food, keep that in mind. Overall, a peaceful stay with friendly staff, good breakfast, and a property that shows the charm of Crete.

Ottimo hotel, abbiamo avuto una camera a due piani, in entrambi c'era il bagno e terrazzo. Molto piacevole la piscina. La struttura è vicina all'aeroporto, il personale molto gentile e disponibile. Colazione buona. Dista 20 minuti da chania e circa 15 minuti dalla spiaggia di Sravros e di Seitan Limania. Lo consiglieri!

Stayed for a one night stay before moving on to a villa. Arrived late and was greeted by a lovely lady, was able to get a lovely fresh cooked pizza. Room was clean and had everything we needed, breakfast was great.

All in all excellent, ticked absoloutely all boxes for our requirements. Needed a "Staging Post" as early check out from holiday accomodation and very late flight time. On arrival reception staff very pleasant and helpful, in fact our room was ready for us earlier than normal time. Ground floor room, so no problems with heavy suitcases, very pleasant garden and clean pool with basic loungers and shade if required. Room lovely, exceptionally clean, with all facilities in consideration its ecconomic cost (suspect had been recently refurbed). Drinks available from onsite bar, only downside possibly was food available only by mobile take way delivery service during day/evening time and no close shops. Electronically contacted reception 2 days before arrival requesting taxi be booked at set time for our departure to airport from Areti. had electronic confirmation from Areti that they had kindly done so, taxi to airport arrived for us spot on our requested time (was expensive at 25 euro's for short journey, but taxi's do have a minimum costing, so for convenience found cost perfectly acceptable). Obviously very close to airport so aircraft noise. Would I book Areti again? definitely YES.

Nice property and nice breakfast!

Areti Suites is conveniently located near the Chania airport on Crete, and it was a delight. The room was clean and very comfortable, located on the ground floor right by the pool, which I used as soon as I awoke the next morning. And breakfast was ample and nutritious, with the option of sitting outside. Lovely experience all around.

It was nothing more than a place to sleep for the night. Didn’t have food at the hotel even though it is located 25 minutes outside of Chania. Old, outdated furniture and just the backs. Very, very expensive to take a cab the 5 minutes to the airport. We went early in the morning and had to pay €30. Also a lot of mosquitoes in the room.

We booked one night stay the night we arrived in Crete. It was above the expectations: beautiful and clean room, 1am we were allowed to sit outside and chat with other guest. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was included as well. We would definitely come back if landing in Chania again.

Front desk gal was so sweet and helpful! There when we checked in and also early the next morning to see us off, she even made us a little breakfast to-go as we were headed to the airport before serving time. Note: this place is "out there" in the midst of no where but a perfect stop for convenience to the airport (5-10 mins) They will also order food to be delivered from local restaurants if desired as getting around at night isn't really an option. We had great pizza & salad from Gustavo's:)

Super convenient to the airport, clean, quiet and friendly. Just be aware there are no restaurants in walking distance.

Gorgeous property in the tiny village of Kathiana just 5 minutes from Chania airport. Too nice to stay just one night before flight home next day. Very clean and very friendly staff. Beautifully designed and decorated suites. Left before breakfast served but the staff made sure we had tea and coffee to go. It should be noted that it is in the middle of nowhere but that is part of the charm. Ordered take out pizza that was excellent. Highly recommend especially before a flight out.

Perfect hotel for families requiring larger rooms. Good breakfast. 5min from airport and perfect spot to visit the west side of the island.

Convenient place to stay if you land late at night. Watch out for the taxi fare from the airport to the hotel- 25 Euros for a 5 minute journey.

Verbrachten eine Nacht vor unserem frühen Abflug in diesem Hotel. Können nicht meckern. Alles sauber, großes Zimmer ,netter Pool, sollten wir wieder ungünstige Flugzeiten haben dann werden wir wieder hier übernachten.

Arrivés en fin de soirée à l aéroport de La Canée, quel plaisir de trouver un hôtel accueillant à moins de 10min de route. Accueillis avec le sourire, et un peu fatiguée, la personne a l accueil s’est débrouillé pour nous servir une heure et quelques parts de pizza! Une chambre grande et propre! Une très bonne nuit pour ensuite commencer la journée avec un bon petit déjeuner et une baignade dans la piscine! Le tout pour un excellent rapport qualité/prix! Nous y retournerons avec plaisir lors d’une prochaine arrivée à La Canée! PS : on attend assez bien le bruit des avions au décollage mais il y a peu de trafic à l’aéroport de La Canée!

Nous sommes arrivés tard, après notre vol, nous avons apprécié la proximité avec l’aéroport, et la gentillesse du personnel, toujours disponible et à toute heure. Les chambres sont très propres, le petit-déjeuner agréable. La piscine est jolie, nos enfants ont adoré ! Excellent rapport qualité/prix. Le seul inconvénient, le bruit le matin, nous avions la chambre la plus proche de l’accueil.

This was a fantastic airport hotel. We got in later than intended (well after midnight) as our flight kept getting delayed. We were unable to contact the hotel because of our phones not working internationally and were worried the reception would be closed, but it wasn't! We were kindly greeted by reception and were shown to our very comfortable and clean room. The property itself has a lovely outdoor area. We only stayed 1 night as a transfer hotel, but we were able to enjoy the excellent included breakfast an a quick dip in the pool before heading into Chania old town.

The photos of the rooms are exactly the rooms, in totality, i.e., they are fairly small. But a great choice for an early morning flight from Chania. The people running the property are fabulous and could not be more helpful and accommodating. The location is a little challenging to find in the dark. About 6 minutes driving from the airport.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Close to the airport. Very clean. Everyone so very helpful and friendly. Even served beers at out 2am arrival. They were much appreciated. Would stay again. Thank you.

Close to Airport

A very convenient location to get to the Chania airport for about 15 to 18 euros. Complimentary breakfast was outstanding. Be aware that rooms on the upper floors require walking up a marble winding staircase (no elevator). The friendly helpful staff are willing to help with your luggage if you ask. Overall a great place for an overnight.

Stayed for a one night layover. It’s about a 5-10 minute drive from the airport. Our room was clean and service was exceptional. Food was fairly limited and the surrounding area is a little rough around the edges, but was otherwise an enjoyable stay.

Great hotel conveniently located right near the airport. The staff were so kind and welcoming, pool was great and the breakfast is a nice added bonus. I would highly recommend.

Very convenient to the airport. 5 minutes by car.

A great hotel if you either have a car or need to be by the airport. It is about 25 minutes from the old city, but not a terrible drive. The staff were extremely friendly. We had an issue with the drain being clogged when we arrived but they had someone there to fix it within 5 minutes. The breakfast was fairly good and there was a lot of parking.

Great location, so convenient for the airport which was what we needed as we arrived late at night. Check-in was painless as was the rest of our stay. Highly recommended.

The Areti Hotel was a great stay for the price. Great for a vacation spot or overnight stay waiting for flight. The staff is very welcoming and accommodating. We were the only guest for breakfsst, but they set up as if they had sevaral guests. There isn't much close by, but the will order delivery service for you. We were there during off season, so the pricing was very affordable, but not much was available. I highly recommend for an all around great stay!

the customer service was very good and very helpful especially because the front desk is 24/7.

This was a last minute booking as our flight got cancelled a d we couldnt fly home until the next day. We hit the jackpot finding this place! The rooms are so comfortable and homey, the staff are all so helpful. The breakfast was delicious and there was plenty of choice. Added a picture of the cat we befriended as well, couldnt leave her out

Everything was just I have expected

Perfect for the night before our early morning flight! The staff are super friendly and helpful. The room was small but efficient with space - not somewhere we'd want to stay for several nights but again perfect for a single night. The area felt safe and was about 20-30 to downtown Chania for a bite to eat and exploring. Noting that the bed was fairly soft if that's a concern. We didn't get to take advantage but they do include a free breakfast that smelled wonderful as we were leaving for the airport. They have a pool area as well.

This hotel is very convenient for Chania Airport and I received a warm welcome despite arriving quite late at night. The room was spacious and comfortable. Just two critical comments - the shower had no curtain or door so after use the whole bathroom floor was wet for my whole stay. Coffee with breakfast was served from a flask and was neither fresh or hot.

Conveniently located 5 min from the airport, this is the perfect hotel if you want to be close from and to your flight. There is no airport transfer service, taxi ride is 20 euros from , and 17 euros to the airport! Although the front desk arranged our taxi to the airport. It is important to rent a car when going around Chania from this location because there is no public transport nearby. The front desk assisted us with car rental once we arrived at the hotel, when we realized taxi rides will be very expensive around Chania. This was a local rental company, 90 euros for 2 days, car was delivered to and picked up from the hotel, including insurance. We calculated this is about reasonable considering going back to the airport to rent will cost another 17 euros. It is very helpful to drive a small car, and drive defensively- the streets are very narrow. The hotel staff is very accommodating, respectful and welcoming. Special mention to Natasha who made sure we have our taxi for the very early flight home, and to Anastassis who made espresso very early in the morning. The hotel structure (we were told) is 10 years old but it is very well-maintained, the bathrooms and the sheets are very clean. There is a family history to this hotel related to olive pressing, and you can see the old machineries in front! The neighborhood is quiet but you will also hear occasional fighter jets as the hotel is located near the military base. Overall we enjoyed our stay, and we recommend this hotel

Used as an overnight stop-over after arriving at Chania airport at around 1am. It worked very well - short taxi journey and ease of reception. Good breakfast and friendly staff.

Very nice people. We were greeted with a big smile and very helpful front desk Anastassi. Room was very spacious with a terrace overlooking the mountains of Crete. Place was really safe and quiet at night. Wished we were there for longer. The location is 4 mins away from Chania airport. Very convenient if you're looking for a place close to the airport. The room had free Greek breakfast included which I enjoyed. Barista made me the best cappuccino.

A really cute little hotel with everything you need for a short stay. A little bit remote so you'll need a car to get about but it was lovely and quiet. Breakfast was included which was nice (the ladies running breakfast spent the whole time chatting away so it was like being at the WI club but besides that was nice and relaxing). Hotel is a little bit dated but very clean and tidy. Definitely recommended.

Had a late very flight into Chania Airport. Great place to overnight before collecting our hire car and going to our holiday accommodation.

Perfect hotel for staying near the airport! Got to the hotel at 11pm, and the night porter very sweetly organised a take out for us! Would definitely consider staying again.

Good overnight- free airport shuttle. Breakfast is okay. Comfortable clean room. Pool area is just okay. There are a lot of insects and weeds around the pool. Airplanes flying over are extremely loud so I would t want to stay there to Lounge around the pool- more for an overnight. I give the staff 5 stars for customer service!

It was clean, clean, clean. The check in was quick and meet with a huge happy face and smile. The clincher was the over the top 'purple room'! You had to appreciate the personality on display. Great pool, relaxing and very close to the Chania Airport.

Outstanding hotel with great people and service.

Hotel was great, however i asked at reception roughly how much was it going to cost me to get to the airport by taxi and was told maximum 15e, however the following morning i was charged 17e and as the driver did not have any change i gave him 20e for what really chould have been a trip costing maybe 8e maximum. The hotel needs to consider its choice of taxi company as the current provider could damage its business.

A great place to stay near the airport. Clean rooms and helpful, friendly staff.

The staff were great here. The only thing that prevents a great rating in condition and comfort areas is that one of the toilet seats in one of the bathrooms was broken and didn't even look like it fit that toilet. This is very close to the airport. We had an early flight and they supplied us with breakfast before the normal breakfast hours!

Very friendly welcome at this hotel just 5 minutes drive from Chania airport. Very useful if like us you arrive late at night. The hotel is clean and the food and drink good. There is even a pool if you want to stay there a little longer. We only stayed one night but would definitely use it again.

Staff was friendly and check-in/out was easy. But, it was close to nothing, so unless you have a vehicle, you’re stranded in the pretty run-down/small town. We also had an early flight, so our “free airport shuttle” was none existent and we ended up paying for a taxi, both arriving and leaving. All of this in mind, it just wasn’t worth the price we payed.

Maria and the crew were amazing. They helped us with everything we needed. Breakfast was fantastic. The rooms was unique and spacious for 3 and a baby. Very convenient to Chania and the airport. If you’re on the Chania side of Crete I definitely recommend.

I chose Areti Suites because it was close to the airport in Chania. The staff was really kind. They even opened their breakfast early so we could eat before we headed to the airport. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean. Our only negative was a broken shower nozzle so that we had to hold the spout for the shower while using it. Also, there is no elevator, so that's important to know. But everything else was nice and I'd definitely stay here again.

This property is not on the waterfront but it has, pool, wonderful view and most important of all, fantastic personnel, ready to help you and make your stay wonderful. And, of course, rooms are big, comfortable, new and we'll darkened, if you want to sleep longer.

Arrived at hotel about 11 in evening. Very close to airport which was great having had a long day traveling. Had a drink before bed, staff very friendly and we were given complimentary candied fruits and a carafe of raki. There was also water in fridge in the room and more raki. Very generous. Would definitely stay again.

Make sure you use the hotel airport shuttle. We rented a car and couldn't reach the hotel using google map or waze... there are no street signs in the village where the hotel is located. Called the hotel and they fished us out of a run down neigberhood. Upon arrival our room was ready. Staff very courteous and ready to help. Bathroom was very cramped and the toilet was very uncomfortable to get to and use. Breakfast was mediocre heavily weighted on carbs, lacking proteins and fruits. checking out was very memorable. We received a small hand made knife with the name of the hotel engraved on the blade and the handle we were told made out of goat horn!

Very convenient hotel for Chania airport. We rented a car and had no issue driving there. Staff was very helpful in providing info on getting food delivered after our late arrival. Breakfast in the morning was decent. Room was comfortable although the toilet seemed to have an issue. Would stay here again.

Delightful family style hotel with about 8 rooms. Full meal upon arrival as there are no restaurants nearby. Although the Chania airport is just 3 minutes away, it is not at all obvious. Lovely family who made us feel very much at home.
