Breakfast was good, lots of options and good lattes.
The pillows were very big, bulky and uncomfortable.
Sonny was working during our check in time. He was so helpful and friendly. The room was clean and spacious. We ate at the in house restaurant, Perla. The food was delicious and had a great vibe. There was live music in the other restaurant/bar area that sounded great! Overall, I would stay here again.
Great location. Clean rooms and spacious hallway.
The TV in the room is way too small and the Netflix button on the remote control does not work. I can’t even log onto my account to watch the show I wanted. Toilet paper was down to almost nothing on the roll and the staff didn’t bother to change it out to a new roll for us to use.
The rooms were lovely, the staff were lovely. We were only here for a brief 1 night stop and it was wonderful. We stayed in the USA for 14 nights and stayed in 6 hotels and the 1 night here was by far the best of them all. The hotel is close to places to eat and places to grab some essentials.
Honestly its massively personal and maybe an Australian thing, but the only thing Id have changed about the stay would be to have a separate toilet entrance rather from inside the bathroom (the toilet in the bathroom had a door but as a family with teenagers was not an option to use the toilet while someone was showering)
Beautiful lobby/snack bar there to get breakfast/clean
Bed was really uncomfortable. No one got much sleep that night.
The classic chandeliers and high ceilings at the entrance are beautiful & inviting. Room size was good and bathroom very nice & clean.
The bed was not that comfortable. I think it’s time to get new beds. The technology not that great. No USB or any ports. The smart TV doesn’t load due to poor connection to internet. No microwave in room so to warm up food, you have to go to front desk area to use a microwave.
I liked how this hotel is close to the Buffalo airport like 7 mins drive which was convenient! The only thing I didn’t like was the bed it was uncomfortable so couldn’t sleep that well but other than that I enjoyed the room and bathroom and it’s clean.
Location
Bed was squeaky every time you moved. Carpets were stained, coming up and filthy. WiFi speed was 15, very slow. Room was never vacuumed.
Location was good, very close to the airport
Coffee maker in the room didn’t work and we had to pay for coffee in the lobby. No iron. We did get a working iron but no offer of any relief for the coffee. We had neighbors that were very loud as apparently there was a wedding on the property and a few room parties on our floor and the room below. The room wasn’t cheap so these were annoyances I wouldn’t expect to deal with.
Dinner was delicious.
The sheets were very rough and there was dust on the dresser.
The property is clean. The staff were so friendly! The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was so big! Shower was great! The room in the shower was plentiful!
We only got a partial roll of toilet paper and no backup for 3 girls. There was no ice machine. You had to call the front desk to get it delivered. The shuttle didn’t run during the time we needed it. Having a shuttle and being so close to the airport are the reasons we booked the hotel.
Room was nice but way too much noise from room above and the TV in the next door room. The TV next door was on loudly all evening and at 9:45 pm I had to call the front desk. It took 2 calls and finally the room next door turned TV off at 10:10 pm. We were tired and had driven 8 hours to get there. The next morning at 5:30 am the TV was again on loudly and left on even after the patron apparently checked out. At 5:19 am the upstairs patron started doing exercises in his room either jogging or jumping rope. Then walking back and forth across room. The walls and ceiling above apparently have very little insulation and the noise level is unreasonable in a nice hotel.
Too much noise as stated above.
Staff and location were great.
A bit dated for a supposed 4 star hotel. The hall outside our room had missing or damaged carpet tiles.
My stay at The Delavan was phenomenal. Right off the back, my girlfriend and I were lost because they were setting up for an event. The amount of patience Sonny showed was complemented by the positive energy he radiated. Made the hotel feel so welcoming. He waited outside for us and brought us to where we needed to be. It didn't stop there. Every time I saw him, he was just infectious positive energy. He was attentive to all guests, even if he had to walk towels or ice the rooms himself. Sonny recommended the Italian Prime restaurant located in the whole, and I must say that the food was just amazing. The rooms were cleaned, and the bed was comfy. Sonny informed us that there was a silent auction on Saturday and that Fabulous was performing. Honestly, it was nice to see a hotel with an event like that. It didn't take away from the trip at all. The highlight of the Delavan is Sonny. It felt like I was family. I will book again as long as Sonny is working. Well worth the price.
Rooms were large clean well decorated and comfortable
Location was good. Motel was beautiful and clean. .
Very clean and staff very courteous!
The location was good and Sonny at the front desk was very nice.
It was shabby, unkempt and a definite disappointment. The hallway carpet squares were loose and peeling. A chair at our end of the hallway had springs sticking out the bottom. Our room was dusty, no bedside lamps, the door to the toilet was extremely difficult to open and close. There were dark bits that looked like flakes of chocolate between the bed and the windows on an obviously poorly vacuumed carpet.
Clean, elegant, restaurants
Location, not so appealing.
I had two separate stays in the month of march. I was in town for a business trip and both stays were top notch. Sonny was the gentleman that I had the pleasure of dealing with and he was simply amazing! Sonny was a pleasure to speak with and made my stay a memorable experience. When I arrived for my second trip Sonny remembered me and greeted my like we were old friends. It felt nice to be welcomed back, not as just another customer, but a welcomed and valued guest. I look forward to returning in the future and hope to see Sonny on the next trip. 5 Stars!
Outstanding staff, very accommodating, professional, and responsive. Thank you, esp to Nick! Very very clean Chill vibe Nice little cafe/bakery Large room, comfy bed Ample fitness room and equipment
The shower never heated up. Lukewarm. Brrrrr Toilet flange slow-leaked, so it ran intermittently. Forgot to tell them until check out-they apologized and noted it for repair. No microwave so no way to heat water for bedtime tea. The keurig isn’t for me. Positives far outweighed the negatives, but would have been a 10 if the shower was warm. Did not enjoy that lol.
Clean and offered great restaurants
Beautiful
Cold but its Buffalo
Hallway carpet tiles are loose and are a tripping hazard.
The front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful. The hotel was clean and quiet.
The bed was terribly squeaky every time you moved, it squeaked. The mattress was not that comfortable, and the pillows weren't either. A temporary charge of $150.00 was placed on my credit card for incidentals, which I think is very high considering the lack of amenities at the hotel.
I liked the attempt of design and uniqueness of this hotel.
There were multiple issues and while some were minor, like the tv backlight being broken causing the screen to have grid of white patches. What I really didn’t like was the floor not being vacuumed and counters not wiped down. One thing that really can’t be fixed is that the floor noise is quite loud. The person above us walked back and forth for a long time at 3am keeping us awake even while we had a sound machine running. If you were to stay here, request the top floor.
Crying baby in next room and couldn’t change rooms
Location ,room and shower
Better mattresses
Location
Damage everywhere
The hotel is classy and stunning with great restaurants and staff.
No shower gel. It was empty.
Absolutely everything!!!
We didn’t like that there wasn’t free breakfast but totally ok with the cafe!
Nice
Hallway was too warm and there was no fan in the restroom.
Not sure where to begin!!! We stayed there 10/31--11/3 for Buffalo Bills game! Lobby looks clean enough, staff at check in were friendly!! The rooms---uggggghhhh!!!! Old, dirty, and falling apart is kind!!! Upon checkin we immediately called down to desk to explain there was a mint of the bathroom floor- dust all over, , stained carpet, crumbs in bathroom, no body lotion in dispenser, towels hung haphazardly and not enough towels!! Said they would come right up with towels--we are still waiting!! Stated we wanted the room completely cleaned the following day--out for the day only to return to our same mint still living on the bathroom floor--they had done the basic full and puff, was not clean! Told them about it once again! Third and final day (thank God) returned to our mint and same ole, same old!!!! They need housekeeping in a bad way--and a head of housekeeping!!!! We saw one elderly lady in hallway--I think she was the complete staff!! And tho I feel for her--at $200 plus a night--we expected a clean room!!! It's just so very dated, this needs to go in the $100 per night category!!! Went to the "business center" to try and print something only to find a plate of pasta and a coke sitting in front of computer--notified the desk agent (young white guy, dark hair) he couldn't be bothered!!! This was the same guy we usually delt with on our live in mint situation--he couldn't be bothered then either!! On a more positive note--Salvatores bar was fun and a walk back into the 80"s where all the men were a Wayne Newton look alike on the prowl big time!! it was an amusing watch and bartenders there were great!! We are originally from Buffalo and if we get back, would come to the bar again--but RUN from this hotel my friends!!!
Very nice Hotel only negative is the total lack of services from 10am till 4pm. Can’t even get a cup of coffee. If your stuck in the hotel your only choice to is travel to a restaurant. In my case I did not rent a car and it was raining.
Room good size, comfortable
Restaurants all closed. No breakfast
We had a wonderful time during our visit. We enjoyed the live musical performance at dinner. It was a beautiful and sophisticated atmosphere, honestly making the whole evening special and boosting our enjoyment. And I “must” give a shout out to Sonny at the front desk. He was an absolute gem. His professionalism was top notch, he was attentive to our needs, and his genuine willingness to help was truly remarkable. He really went out of his way to make sure we had a seamless and pleasant experience, and it made a huge difference on our overall stay. The room was clean. The food and service was excellent. No complaints.
I would not stay here again nor recommend it. The room lighting is sparse - no bedside lights, no desk lamp. The one standing lamp in my room is broken and the front desk was like "oh we don't have a replacement" - useless. Sitting in the dark with two strange wall sconces. On a highway. Advertised a free included breakfast but that was false advertising, Luckily there is a nearby Cracker Barrel!
Bed linens were scratchy. Otherwise great hotel and the Italian onsite restaurant, Salvatore’s, was EXCELLENT!
Friendly. Clean. Good value.
Dinner was very nice . Breakfast self serve closed early
Restaurant on site was convenient
Carpet were stained, uncomfortable pillows, and they didn’t make up their room, despite our request to do so. And expensive for being in a not so great neighborhood next to the airport. Our room was facing a water tower and gas station. Breakfast and coffee options pretty disappointing
Great place to stay.
The rooms were spacious and the customer service was great.
Great hotel. Clean with friendly staff. Close to many shopping and food options. Carpeting in hallway and elevators need replacing but overall I would highly recommend.
Great staff Shout out to Sonny at front desk
My boyfriend and I had such amazing time. The front desk man Sunny he was amazing. There was a system glitch and I technically didn’t have a room and he made sure to find one for us. In my mind he made the hotel. From the stylish bow tie and glasses to the amazing customer service skills. The room was perfect and the food and entertainment A+++
Beautiful hotel! The bathroom was stunning. However, the shower body wash dispenser was empty, which I didn’t discover until I was in the shower. I was disappointed that there was no complimentary coffee in the lobby. If in the area again, I will stay at the hotel.
Visited for a wedding to help manage grandkids.. reservation made for adjoining rooms.. upon arrive the 2 rooms were on different floors…,per phone conversation front desk offered a room on the same floor, agreed.. went to desk to get key card, told room already rented. Not given logical reason why rooms were initially changed from being adjoining, to separate floors. Not given receipt on checkout, not given coupons for $10 for breakfast…was told manager would talk to us and fix issues…. Crickets… nothing. Will not be staying here again…
People and food
Property is beautiful, however the carpets need a deep cleaning the hallway carpet is filthy and tattered see photos, The elevator carpet is black with grime. Stayed here many times in the past but some maintenance of the place needs attention, clearly visible debris and string and paint chips and wall paper separation are clear signs that management is not addressing the most basic tennant of a clean property For close to $200 a night the experience is more of a motel 6 at this point- a shame, hope they make corrections.
Staff was awesome. Bed was not that great. Woke up sore and stiff. Bathroom in the room was very nice. This is close to the airport. The carpet in the hallways going to the room needed a good cleaning. It worked for one overnight on our way to Niagara Falls.
The hotel is beautiful, and they have 3 spots on the premises where you can eat. Every staff member I had an encounter with was so professional, so pleasant and they enjoyed helping you I had a big beautiful room, very clean, double sink in my bathroom.
NA
Friendly and helpful staff, great restaurant and bar
Bathroom ventilation could be better and carpeting getting worn in the hallways
Excellent place to go and spend a day or two the only thing was the Internet wasn’t working .
Lovely hotel… clean room and very convenient to stores and restaurants in the area… one update that would really make a difference is new carpeting throughout the hotel, elevator and rooms… current condition is dirty and smells.
The room was okay, but the plumbing was substandard. The toilet broke and there was no one to fix it until the following day. It was very inconvenient. To say the least.
Staff is awesome even though we came on Labor Day with minimal services available we enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed talking with Sony today.
Stayed in Harriet Suite.Room was very clean and comfortable. Wonderful bathroom with duel sinks, separate toilet area and walk in shower.
Everything
My recomendation, is better breakfast , mire óptimo, like buffet.!
Breakfast
Everyone was very nice. Lots of food option with 3 restaurants. Great bathroom. Comfortable beds.
A real 4 star prospect The front desk agent Sunny in the evenings was excellent at providing service for us and all guests. All staff on the catering side was excellent as well.
Staff, room, was great. High quality and comfortable room. The hotel layout is quite strange but all in all a nice place to stay. One big negative was a wake up call that I never received after front desk assured there would be no problem.
Best Hotel and safe, clean.
my stay at the Delavan was wonderful... from the moment I was greeted by Sonny at reception... to check out with Joanne... everyone was very kind, professional... Tom even assisted me with my morning tea... the room was spacious and very clean... the pillows were fabulous... the walk-in shower was appreciated... no safety concerns with the location of the Delavan... the parking area was well lighted...
I love this hotel. I stay here every time I go to Buffalo.
Stayed at the Delavan for only one night, wish it wasn’t any nights. Checked in at 4pm, the room was ready so we went up to the room. We noticed our room door was cracked open, assuming housekeeping had just cleaned it and forgot to close the door all the way. We walked into the room and everything seems fine. Of course when you come to stay at a hotel you start to do your own cleaning, a wipe down of everything and make sure the bed is nice and clean, in this case the bed was not clean. As we proceed to check the bed we pull the sheets back and we notice an old blood stain on the sheets. We were truly disgusted and disappointed considering the housekeeping guy had just finished cleaning our room. We call the front desk and the young lady was nice about it and moved us to a completely new room on a new floor. After moving to a new room and floor, we still managed to find small stains on the pillowcases and sheets. At that point we were just ready to relax. So, the young lady brought us up pillowcases and new sheets and we just changed everything ourselves. With all of that we just will never stay here again. This was our second time and will be our last! Our first time staying at The Delavan was great, but this time around it was just horrible. Wouldn’t recommend.
It was unique. Staff was responsive
Very loud at night with questionable clientele. Showing age with stains on carpet. Sheets were torn. Towels low quality. Expect better for >$200/ night
Location is great for the airport.
Great location and very friendly staff
The Delavan was amazing! We stayed in the Harriett Suite my wife and I agree its one of the most comfortable beds we've ever slept in. The room was spacious and nicely decorated. The bathroom was beautiful, deep tub, rainfall showerhead and his/hers vanity. The facilities were well kept gym included. I love that the gift shop is 24 hours and that Perla, Italian Prime, and the Chandelier Bar are all attached the food is delicious and the drinks are creative and stiff. Allison was very accommodating and polite i will definitely return when I go see my Buffalo Bills play as they are 15 minutes from highmark stadium and about 35 minutes from Niagara Falls, we loved it!!!
The restaurant and bar is amazing. Excellent bar tenders Hotel was a bit worn down, definitely bin abused Desperately Needs new carpets in hallways and rooms. Will definitely go to restaurant again as Salvatore’s is top notch.
Just a beautiful hotel with a lively bar. Some items are starting to show their age, though. Even though the property needs some freshening up, it is still such a nice hotel
The hotel floors need repairs some of the carpet was coming up.
The hotel appeared run down on the outside and inside. Carpets in hallways damaged. Promised coupons toward spa not provided as they said they don’t do that anymore. Pillows and bed uncomfortable. This is not 4 star material.
Very nice staff and great accomodations
Great rooms
Ok needs more cleaning and carpet cleaning
Bed and pillows were comfortable. The room is nice and spacious. The carpet is clean but worn. The bathroom door leaks.
