The photos and the reviews were very misleading, The buildings are very old, and the overall conditions needs lot of attention. The team is very welcoming but my low review for the hostel conditions

Best hostel I’ve ever stayed in! Very close to everything and amenities were a plus. Pool/ table tennis/ billiards. The only negative was the short haired receptionist who was extremely rude. I avoided interacting with her and just spoke with the other receptionist. Weird thing is the short haired would come over and include herself and attitude to any questions I approached with. Other than that stay here!

Good for social aspect. Friendly staff

The entire staff was great very friendly very professional. I enjoyed my stay the room is great you have your own space to put your luggage and put lock. Everyday someone comes to clean your room and put new towels and the bathroom has enough toilets and showers to accommodate everyone.

Outstanding ! 288 beds / female wing had huge bathroom facilities and dead quiet dorms while parties going on by the pool Even has hammocks to relax in while waiting for pick up by the door Its a 5 min walk to the nicebeach on a quiet street with excelent food stalls Yet if you want rauncy Bangla road and budy streets its also right there

Staff were pretty nice and people are super nice who are staying there. Events to go and do things didn’t get to do much as I was visiting for a festival but still great!

The entire staff and hospitality is top notch ... breakfast great, rooms great, fun activities if trabeling solo ... great management .. wspwcially Benz

This was my favourite hostel in all of Phuket. Very clean, lots to do, comfy beds and great location.

The room that I was in turned out to be a nightmare. I woke up with bites all over and when I checked the mattress I found tiny bugs on the mattress and the headboard. I notified the manager immediately who told me it’s not bed bugs even though my bite marks looked like bed bugs and bugs were on the mattress and headboard. They told me I can check out early and they will refund me for the 2 nights remaining on my trip. It’s been a month and I haven’t heard back from them at all on the refund request. The hostel itself is nice with common areas for ping pong, pool etc. The people I met during my stay were really nice including the staff that worked there. Management needs to work better on cleaning the beds and processing the refund that they promised

Great hotel for solo travelers or solo expats. Fun, clean, and really good service. Will definitely recommend to any solo travel buddy of mine.

Stayed with a friend for a couple of nights. Since our room was not ready at check in time, we were proactively upgraded to a better twin room which was awesome. I really like the vibe of the place, with its swimming pool, young and vibrant atmosphere, and many activities, so I would highly recommend both the dorms and the private rooms, as this place provide a haven from bustling Patong beach. The location is really good, 3 minutes walking distance from the beach.

It is a party hotel so if that is what you are looking for it is 5 star. We found that we did not use the pool as it is next to the bar with loud music late into the night and it kept us up as our room was next to the pool. But service was good great people. Just not what I was looking for I was wanting. Relaxed resort feel.

Establishment is the perfect mix of hostel life and people who want their own private rooms, although the private rooms are very small. Pool is wonderful (and open until 10!), and the bar and food are great! Location, location, location. Very close to the beach and Bangla Rd. People from all over stay here. To watch the pool area, you feel like you are watching Club MTV, that American TV show from the 80s where it is always Spring Break. Yet the music is never too loud and the room is pretty quiet. A/C, bedding and shower in the room are lovely, although I hoped for hotter hot water and a refrigerator (as advertised). The vibe and value are great: I would stay here again.

Had an issue with the booking and tried to cancel but they refused and made me jump through hoops anyway. I booked this place as a solo traveler hoping to socialize and meet people since it was advertised as a hostel. Turns out, it's part hostel, part hotel. It's not social at all! The pool is completely inadequate as there are only 2 day beds and 4 or so lounge chairs for the entire property! They have another area with day beds and chairs and such, but it's far from the pool and was occupied by random people and couples. They offer pub crawls and other activities but they are ridiculously overpriced and totally not worth it. The 2 events i saw were all guys and the few young women that were there were interested in only hanging with each other and not even participating in the group activities. For a couple that just needs a place to stray, i guess it's ok.The shared hostel room was nothing special. I would definitely not return to this place with so many other options in the area!

The private room was very small but it was very clean and met my expectations. Service was good. I like that water was given in glass bottles rather than plastic. There was a coffee machine but it needed pods, which wasn’t provided. There’s no closet, and limited space, so be prepared did that. Overall it was a good stay.

The area is nice, but it's just too loud at night. There is quite some music until late coming from the pool area, and a lot of partygoers here. I booked 7 nights, but decided after just 1 night that I will move to another hotel, as unfortunately I was also sick and it was so loud at night I could not sleep. And yes, I lost my 6 nights, they didn't offer any refund or try to find any solution. I would not stay here again to be honest. But: If you are a party-goer and you don't mind noise at night, this might be a great place to stay! And yes, it was clean, and the room was small but okay, basically what you would expect for this category.

Great location minutes from patong Beach

The activities hosted by the organizers are great for solo travellers looking to make friends. The staff was very easy going and fun to hangout with as well

Good location to the beach - only a 5min walk. Staff are friendly on the front desk. The restaurant is pretty good - staff could be a little bit more friendlier Deluxe room is nice with king size bed. Bed is sitting on a not too high raised platform which can make it harder to get in and out of bed.

Had a very nice stay , staff very helpful and friendly ,hostel was very clean ,rooms best suited for light cases or rucksacks as quite small

Great hostel, kind staff, and comfortable amenities. One thing I'll note is that in the dorm showers, the drains were not cleaned regularly and when hair got cut, the water didn't drain properly.

Great Hotel. I definitely would come back to Lub d. I recommend the cooking class. It is a fun way to learn a traditional Thai dish.

Loved having the laundry with irons available. Room was quiet despite DJ and everything else going on. I didn’t participate in all of the amenities but I imagine younger people really have a great time here. Room was very clean and bed was excellent. Great pillows and loved the convenience of light switches and outlets at bed. Would definitely stay again.

Cheap and ok up until the last morning. We thought checkout was 2pm. I’m happy to admit my mistake it was actually 12noon BUT the phone call I received at 12:06 was unnecessarily rude. There is no excuse for rudeness and ultimatums and being dictated to over the phone. Go somewhere else!

Hotel location is fantastic.

Close to everything, rooms were just ok, nothing special. The checkin process took forever both times because they’re extremely slow and some do not speak English at front desk as well as they should. Great place for meeting people and they do have lots of activities daily.

Great social activities to help people mingle.

As always Lub D Patong never disappoint whenever i stayed over. Stayed on 8th-10th July and Lub D keep improving their room ammenities especially room comfort. Perfect bed matched with fluffy pillows. Lub D will always be my choice of accomodation in Patong as its a perfect location to anywhere in Patong.

This place was amazing. Definitely recommend for solo travelers. They do a lot a activities that help with meeting people. Side note I do not recommend using the travel/tour agents in the building, paid 3500 baht with "discount" ($101 usd) for a phi phi island tour that everyone else paid around 2000 bath ($58usd) and the ones who used tripvisor paid $45 usd. I respect their hustle but I'm looking out for my fellow travelers.

Happening place.

Great location about 10 minute walk to Bangala road. Down the street from Patong beach. Lots of options for eating nearby. Restaurant on patio is quick and easy, but food is only okay. Pool is nice. Definitely a social environment. Room is good enough size. Towels are tiny. Linens in general are not the cleanest. Overall good value for the price. Desk staff is friendly and helpful. Feels very safe.

Relatively clean and nice rooms with AC. In good location but very busy and loud. If being around a lot of tourists can bother you this might not be the place for you.

I had an amazing stay here, property is even better than photos. Staff is so friendly and always willing to accommodate any request that made me feel great all times, vibes are cool and location really good too. Food options are not great but no big deal, there’s plenty of good food just outside the hostel.

Mai was a treat and super helpful. I would stay here again cause she was so fun!

Would have to be one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in post pandemic. Great location, great staff, a good range of organised activities which as a solo traveller were a great way to meet people. I stayed in a private room - just like a large hotel room but with a friendly party atmosphere to go with it!

Very nice for the type of hotel that it is. Perhaps if I did a deeper search I would have found that the hotel is geared toward young singles. As an older couple we definitely felt out of place.

The aggressive taxi drivers on the Front of the property ruin your hotel. Come up with a better system. It makes the hotel look bad they seem like beggars and harassers. If you tell them no thank you why do they demand to know where you going after you tell them no? Really got to fix it ruined the hotel experience.

I took the deluxe king suite for 11 nights and it was spectacular. Clean clean clean, room was always done on time to perfection . Property has a pool a restaurant... they could change up the breakfast menu but I would definitely stay there again. Thank you to all the staff at Lub d for making this vacation spectacular

Beautiful place with a really fun atmosphere that far exceeded the cost I paid to stay there. Definitely the most fun place to stay in Patong.

I don't stay at hostels normally. But this place was something else... extremely clean rooms, nice dining area (which turns into a nice little bar area at night) with an adjacent swimming pool and pool table. All day breakfast. 2 minute walking distance to Patong Beach. Right in front of a night market with very cheap dining options. Will definitely go back one day.

Bunks were roomy and had nice mattress. Plenty of room for luggage. Fun events each day. Pleasant staff and safe location.

The property itself was perfect, a clean and no fuss hostel. We stayed in a private room with bathroom and only noted that the shower door does not prevent water from leaking out at the bottom, hopefully that can be fixed. Hostel was close to everything in Patong but far enough to escape the noise from Bangla road!

Love the vibe of this hostel! Areas to improve on: the water drainage for the showers - water took some time to flow down, cleanliness wise was ok. Found a small cockroach in the room.

This place was so legit! The staff was incredibly helpful in everything they did and suggested for us. We got a deluxe private room for 4 nights and loved every second of it. Location is right in the middle of the attractions!

I really love lub-d This is my third time in a year staying there. Every time, i love it more and more. It’s super easy to locate, and walking distance from the party “Bangla road” it has many restaurants around, as well as beauty salons (per say) where you can get braids, nails, wax, etc.) I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Cool atmosphere. Great location, probably best for young 20s who likes to party. I have found that the teaspoon in the room has used (and not washed). Other than than that over all good.

There were ants near my bed and they didn’t have much amenities like an iron or an umbrella as it was rainy outside. I was super disappointed with my stay there.

Comfortable, near to everywhere and the tv have a lot Channel’s including Netflix 😁

The Lub D is an overpriced backpacker style accomodation. It's time for friendly the rooms are very small and the beds are firm but acceptable. There is no fridge in the room and if you take a double room you can get hotels in the area for much cheaper with much more on offer. The location is good with restaurants nearby and the beach about 7 minutes walk away. The pool was murky and the water looked very uninviting even though there are number of people swimming smoking eating and who knows what else they would doing in it! When I visited it seem to be full of Indian Chinese and Middle Eastern Backpackers who specialized in their own groups and did not seem keen on interacting with other nationalities. I don't know if this is the norm. If you're after a couple of nights I guess its ok, but overall it's expensive for what you get because you can get hotels with your own room with much more facilities for exactly the same price.

Unique design and layout, not an ordinary hotel. More suitable for young and chic:) The only downside is that bed is a little hard and I woke twice a night. Other than that, all is good.

The Netflix tv is great. Plus the unique hotel/hostel arrangement

The hotel is a new one, in both the hardware and it's running concept. The hotel provides a tourist friendly environment. You can enjoy your "breakfast" at anytime throughout the day, so you have no need to push yourself out of bed early in the morning. Many different types of activities and facilities are provided in the hotel, e.g. yoga class, bike rent. The staff are friendly and good in English. The hotel locate at a convenient location, 3 minute to the bench and 10 minute walk to the mall. Considering the high transportation cost in Phuket, it's location is really a great selling point. The hotel is not a luxury one, but if you want to have a budget visit at Phuket, Lub D will definitely be your cup of tea.

This is one of my favorite hostels and I've stayed in hostels all around the world. The common areas are amazing and the hostel puts on a ton of really fun events! Super clean and amazing air conditioning as well! Would highly recommend!

The property is just an 8mins walk away from the beach and bangla street. I had a great stay there!

We loved Lub D! We had heard so many great things about this hostel, so we were excited. The staff (especially at the bar/restaurant) was great and the accommodations were perfect for all of our activities around the island. Every tour would pick us up in the lobby so we didn't need to worry about catching taxis. We decided to upgrade to a private room and it was perfect.

For this place being a hostel it was great! We got a private room, but it was still great. We learned about this place from a youtube blogger and he showed the hostels main floor and we decided to give it a try for our last days of our honeymoon. It was very good, I highly recommend this place. It is a 10 min walk from the mall and the Bangla Road and only 3 min walk from the beach.

Absolutely amazing! This was the 2nd Lub D property I stayed at in Thailand (after Koh Samui). The staff were the best! And that is ranging from the check in staff, entertainment crew, and the bar staff. I cannot say enough great things about the bar staff! You'll know once you get there!! I stayed the for 5 nights, and I left feeling as though I became friends with everyone. All the other travellers there were so open, and welcoming, everyone got along great. The hostel hosts a pub crawl 3 nights per week, and it really just brought everyone together. I was in a private room, king size bed, private bathroom, and it was amazing. Prices were very reasonable. Only a block from the beach. But honestly, the pool area was so much fun, it was hard to leave there. If I'm every back in the Patong area, I would definitely stay there again!

This hostel is one of the net I have been! Big building, clean, rooms were nice and the bathroom has everything I needed! Location was fantastic! Highly recommendable!

Overpriced place for what it is - very small double room and no fridge. First room smelled very strongly of mold and we were about to book a different place. We asked to change, new room wasn't too bad. People are smoking in the pool and music is very loud throughout the day. Breakfast wasn't good, staff was pretty friendly. Close to Bangla Rd and beach.

This hostel is one of the best in town. I love it and every time I go to Phuket, I stay there. Super clean, staff is nice, and a delicious breakfast

Live entertainment, great staff, affordable foods and drinks

The facility as a whole was very clean and well put together and had a blast. The only negative thing I would say, they didn’t change the sheets or pillowcases.

It's a good place for the young generation. Not for senior citizen.

What a wonderful stay! This has to be a 5* hostel! Clean, beautifully maintained, wonderful service, and all just across from one of the most lovely beaches in the world.

Awesome hotel. Pool area was nice. Staff were friendly. Room was clean and sufficient in size. Only thing i could fault was we unable to borrow some muay thai training gear to use in the ring as they only accessible by the trainer so my friend and I were forced to fight each handed bare handed which wasnt a great idea, but is ont us, not so much a fault of the hotel. It's just the one thing I could think off that wasnt perfect. Would definitely stay there again.

Type of room: deluxe Room: comfortable spacious room, balcony with hammock. Balcony too small, the hammock unable to swing. Shower water temperature is not stable, but the pressure is good. Location: great, walking distance to market, bangla street, beach Staffs: activities guy very helpful and fun Activities: swim, pool, ping pong, games, and many mores Cleanliness: excellent * non related property comment: Just don’t go massage right in front of the hostel, terrible skill.

This place is def for the younger traveller. Pool parties, dance music till late etc. The rooms are nice and clean but more suited to the flash packer than older traveller.
