We use Days Inn regularly whilst on our travels, once again a great night's stay at this hotel, clean tidy room, good facilities, great staff

The only thing was the location, nothing else was nice. Not the attitude of staff, the wildlife that came to stay or the fact that you had no staff cover and was told to call head office in the USA

When we arrived at the hotel on Saturday 15 August, there were initially no problems with the room. Later that evening, after returning from having dinner, we discovered ants all over the bathroom. We immediately reported this to hotel staff and were moved to another room. However the only thing your staff member used to sort the ant invasion was a cloth and a cleaning solution. Unfortunately, when we woke up the following morning, there were ants in the second room as well, all over the dresser. We checked all our belongings when we moved rooms to make sure none came with us. We again raised the issue with staff and attempted to speak to management, but there was no manager available at the hotel that day. The member of staff at the Southbound hotel (cleaner)acknowledged the ant problem. When we raised our concerns, the staff member also made a comment to the effect that the hotel was "in the middle of nowhere", which appeared to be offered as a reason why the presence of ants should be accepted. We did not consider it reasonable to have ants throughout our paid hotel accommodation, particularly after already being moved to a second room where the same problem occurred. We then went across to the Days Inn Sutton Scotney Northbound location to try to obtain alternative accommodation through the same hotel group. The cleaner at Northbound also acknowledged the ant problem. Although rooms appeared to be available for online booking, we were told that the rooms were showing as offline and that the staff member did not know how to allocate a room or make one available through the system. There was no manager available at Northbound to assist. We therefore could not obtain another room through Days Inn at that time. We tried to obtain assistance in person on the day, but there was no management available at either hotel to resolve the situation. We also attempted to telephone the hotel/head office, but received no answer.

Privacy, easy access to local attractions. Days Inn easy check in and checkout. Uniformity of sites makes you feel at ease.

Rooms need a good clean, our room had lots of cobwebs around window and in corners, main light flickered so much so could only use wall light or bathroom light. Couldn't change height of shower so no good for people of different heights and splutters out more than runs smoothly. Beds very uncomfortable and room was unbearably warm which meant a very uncomfortable night sleep.

First it’s shares a postcode with Days in North so caused confusion. Second the place is so run down and had so many dirty elements. Luckily we arrived late and are checking out early. The floor is subsiding. The window has painted over dirt and stuck. The nettles that are the view from the window are fenced off not dealt with. Dust and cobwebs galore. Dirty toilet, stained bath and mouldy tiles.

Location and staff great. Beds comfy. They also let dogs stay for £15 each, so that was very good.

Cleaners did a good a job as they can and we had clean towels, but could see some dog hairs and some stains on carpet, and small rusty stains on some of the bedding. Since we were staying with dogs it was ok. I'm assuming they only put dogs in certain rooms, so we can't say what the rest are like. Ok for a quick one night stay en route.

No air conditioning Bathrooms are not the best

Had stayed before on way to ferryport, convenient as just off the a34 and they accept dogs, and 24 hour reception. Helpful receptionist

Admittedly heat wave but room had no aircon and even with window as openvas possible our dog atbrisk of heat stroje if nit us. Finally my fatigued husband stayed while the dog and i searched for AC car chargers as ones both sides of A34 services were not functioning. I managedv to get some sleep in the carhaving driven to Winchester to find a charger. Not a good start to a ling trip.

The location was excellent for getting to Southampton Docks the next morning for the Isle of Wight ferry.

The bathroom door in our room (21) didn't close properly, though we did like the room.

Inconsiderate customers that were noisy. Maybe a few signs reminding people that others may be resting, might be helpful?

Location was great for what we needed it for. Beds were really comfortable. Great that it was dog friendly. Price paid was what we got.

Room was not the cleanest. Room was dated and smelled quite dank. No plug sockets next to the bed. No staff present for check out. No takeaways would deliver here meaning that we only had the on sight MacDonalds as an option.

The location worked well for me, the instructions to find it were very clear. I liked having a kettle.

It didn’t feel very clean, there were big stains on the sofa and carpet. The bedsheets were ripped, the bathroom is outdated. The room was very hot and smelly. There is no air conditioning, the window opens directly to the lorries’ parking lot with vehicles being noisy all night.

How close it was the a shop , as I had no charger due to a last minute need for a stay

We stayed on one of the hottest days. The hotel provided a fan in the room as no air conditioning, which was appreciated. Whilst dated outside, it was clean and comfortable and great lication before our cruise holiday.

Nice staff, man was helpful with our cases as it was a late arrival. The shower worked well and we had tea/coffee facilities. The location is a bit hidden but convenient for the ferries to Isle of Wight- it was around an hour from the port

There were unfortuantely ants in the bedroom and the bathroom was quite old and run down. The extra single sofa bed we had to make up ourselves despite booking a twin room

Rooms are old, scruffy and require a deep clean, bed was clean and tidy, but the make up sofa was dirty as was areas of the floor, the curtains have lots of moth holes in them, the shower was over the bath and had seen better days.

It’s a bit worn but clean

This hotel exceeded my expectations. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The family rooms were large spacious and airy and the bathroom had a shower and a bath which was much appreciated.

My only note of caution would be that the water in the shower/bath was not very hot. But we stayed during a heatwave so were delighted with the cooler temperature.

I have to say paying £57 for 4 of us didn't fill us full of hope, but we were pleasantly surprised. Easy check-in, big rooms, decent ensuite, comfortable beds, and walkable distance to amenities.

The room did have a lot of ants, and it was extremely hot. We did open the windows for a while before going to sleep but did close them due to being on a ground flour. Did also have a fan, but just blowed hot air around. Air con is definitely needed!

Purtroppo il soggiorno nella camera è stato decisamente negativo. Al nostro arrivo la stanza si presentava sporca e la manutenzione generale è apparsa subito carente: le tende erano bucate, il che ci ha costretti a svegliarci alle prime luci dell'alba. Inoltre, era presente una sola presa di corrente funzionante, poiché la seconda aveva l'interruttore bloccato e inutilizzabile. Di conseguenza, abbiamo dovuto ricaricare i cellulari a turno. Esperienza da non ripetere.

It was very basic and could do with a major upgrade as everything was very dated (actual key to unlock the door!) but it was functional and clean. I was only there to sleep and it was quiet, so it did it's job.

My radiator looked like it had a blood splatter on it. On closer inspection it was rust....not a good look when you first walk in. Bedside Light didn't work properly....flickered too much to be of use. Only 2 available plug sockets and nowhere near the bed.

If you need somewhere to stay for a night or two this place does exactly what it says on the tin. A clean room, with a decent bed, bathroom and shower, plus tea and coffee and free WiFi which is all you need and should expect with such a reasonable room rate. Also plenty of parking.

This bedroom was a good size on the ground floor, The desk was long and the internet signal strength strong. Ideal for work or studying. The bed was kingsize and comfortable. The hotel was surrounded by grass with wooden picnic tables and chairs, Ideally for sunny weather The bathroom really did have a bath.

I stayed in room 103 and somehow the shower was set to extremely hot and I was unable to adjust to a reasonable temperature, leading to a dash and splash effect shower, not what I expected, wanted or needed. The rest of the room and stay was great, but the shower ruined it for me.

The location suited me well
