Dormy Inn Nagano Zenkounoyu Natural Hot Spring

Excellent location.Enjoyed the Happy Hour meeting lots of different people for once a good atmosphere. The room was extremely small and dysfunctional bathroom. Value for money, Very clean and quiet. Loved our tour guide and found a great coffee shop at last. They helped us transfer our luggage to Tokyo and were amazing assisting us in finding a missing passport. Many thanks.

Convenient location as it’s across Nagano station. There’s a 7-11 next to the hotel. Also, there are 2 small malls- C one and Tokyu next to the hotel. There’s a musty smell when we first entered the room. But there’s an air purifier in the room and it helped clear the air. The basin is separate from the shower area/ toilet bowl so it’s convenient if there’s more than 1 person staying in the room. Lounge wear was provided and there are different sizes available even for kids, so there’s no need to bring your own pyjamas. The room slippers are reusable so if you are particular, it would be good to bring your own as they only have disposable slippers for kids only. Shavers, cotton buds and combs are available at the lobby if you need them. Did not had a chance to use the onsen but it seems to be quite popular. There’s also popsicles available for guest in the evening and probiotic drink in the morning outside the onsen. Breakfast is good as there’s hot/ cold soba available, also rice, side dishes, Oyaki and also bread and even hot/ cold tea, milk and juices available. We stayed at a 14m2 room so it was quite challenging to open both luggages at the same time.

To be honest l was expecting better. Rooms very small. No real hotel facilities like restaurant or bar. The Onsen was very good though. Good location near railway station and lots of restaurants around the hotel. Just thought it could do better for the price….it was not cheap !!!

Had 2 two rooms. Suprisingly nice experience. Good air conditioning, no smell. Like that there were 2 chairs and a table in room. Comfortable beds. Asked for extra pillows. Laundry was helpful. Good coffee. Free massage chairs. Located in a very convenient and cool area.

This would be a good choice for anyone arriving on the Shinkansen - just walk round to the right on leaving the station and you will soon see the Dormy Inn name on the side of a building. The reception desk was helpful in dealing with our additional booking and luggage transfer requests. The room was pretty cramped (as is usual for such chains). Note that the bed with its rather thin mattress is pushed against the window to make the room seem a little more spacious but, along with the single bedside table, can be moved so that the person sleeping on the window side has just enough room to access without clambering over from the base. There's no bath but the shower is powerful. The onsen on the top floor is pretty good with both indoor and rotenburo outdoor pools (neither particularly hot), plus jacuzzi and sauna. There are also a couple of massage chairs that pummel the body in an initially bizarre and ultimately satisfying way. The best feature of this hotel is the absolutely outstanding breakfasts in a spacious room that are well worth getting up in time to be seated by the cut-off time of 9am. There's an excellent selection of freshly prepared, largely Japanese dishes worthy of a much more expensive establishment.

Whilst the hotel room and bed were a little on the small side (to be expected in Japan), the facilities and service the hotel provided were excellent. The onsen is lovely with free ice creams or probiotic drinks available afterwards; laundry machine is free to use (tumble dryer is 100¥ for 20mins) and there’s free ramen available in the evening. Location is excellent for the train station

Great location, clean and tidy - rooms are quite small but still a great place to stay - would highly recommend.

Lovely clean, friendly hotel that is near the station so easy to get to. The breakfast is wonderful and complimentary noodles are served each evening. The spa facilities are great with lovely products which are all complimentary. There is ice cream to enjoy for free after the onsen and free juice and coffee in reception! A great stay!

Very nice hotel. Location is convenient. No onsite parking, unfortunately.

Nice breakfast

Nil

The service is not that great. The staff at the front desk seemed annoyed and impatient. I did not want to interact with them even when I had need to. The pillows were the worst. They were hard lumps that felt like a tightly folded up bath towel. I would not recommend this hotel to my family or friends. There were a lot of other hotels in Nagano.

I love the Onsen, very good service and clean hotel

This hotel was nice enough. The location is perfect in regards to the station. The rooms were nice but the pillows were really hard. Breakfast was decent. Would stay here again.

Truly one minute from train station, very comfortable, very good breakfast buffet, free ice cream in afternoon, free ramen evening after 21:30, free washing machines with dryers 100 yen per 20 months minutes; separate men’s and women’s onsen very clean. Great value.

Pros: located close to the station and near to bus stop or main road to Zenkoji. Could move the double bed so that we could both get in and out at night. Lovely onsen. Free laundry service for washing and 100yen per 20mins for drying. Cons: room was small but was workable and no smaller than expected in Japan

The location near the train station was perfect. The air conditioning was not perfect. We neededto ask for pillows not containing bricks. We got larger pillows with larger bricks.

良かった

Very convenient hotel, great facilities. Would stay again!

Great!!

Refreshments and 930 noodles

The public bath facility was very good, although a little small for the ladies. So some evenings might get crowded but mornings are usually quiet. I was a little surprised that the housekeeping doesn’t include making the beds and I also found a cup unwashed by the sink. Could just have been neglected by the staff.

We love our stay at Dormy Inn Nagano. Best location and breakfast. The room was so clean. We highly recommended to anyone. We would love to visit again.

Wonderful property

Clean but needed vacuuming under bed and around tv. Convenient to train station for touring and close to shopping and a variety of restaurants, with onson Lots of complimentary nice touches-toothbrushes, tips, shavers, ice cream and late nite noodles. The light control was poor-automatic light came on bright, whenever you got close to the entry and sink (annoying at night).

Great hotel, perfect location near train station on a quiet street.

Great location. 5 minute walk to Nagano station. Onsen on site. Easy walk to Zenkoji Temple

I loved this hotel! I tried to book an additional night we enjoyed it so much but they were fully booked. Room is spacious for a Japanese hotel in this price range. Easy to open and store my luggage in the seating area in our room, which isn’t common for a double twin room. We arrived early to go to the snow monkey park and the hotel stowed our luggage and had brought it up to our room by the time we came back to check in. Very thoughtful. Check in was easy for an English speaker like me. Room was lovely and clean. Provided lounge wear was so comfortable! Shower caulking was showing some mildew but I was using the onsen shower areas and never used the one if our room since I made full use of the onsen twice during our stay, and that was immaculate. Beautiful indoor and outdoor baths! Bring some change for the strawberry milk vending machine. Breakfast was fantastic. Delicious and great variety. Convenient location near the train station. Walkable to Zenkoji, which I enjoyed so I could explore the neighborhood, but was to catch the bus to the temple too. Have exact change for the bus!

Sentrumsnært hotel. Deilig spa-avdeling med ute onsen. Stor variasjon av mat til frokosten. Noe for enhver.

This Hotel is very easy to access from the Nagano Station, and there are lots of restaurants around it.

A lovely hotel with a great onsen. Small rooms, simple breakfast with mainly Japanese options. Friendly staff

Onsen, and staff are very nice

This was my first stay at a Dormy Inn, and I will certainly consider them again if there's one where I'm staying in Japan. The twin room was very spacious for the price. The onsen/bath on-site was always clean, though be conscious of the posted "busy times". Complimentary ice cream or yogurt was a nice plus. Staff at the desk were very helpful and were willing to use translate apps to navigate language barriers. Location is very close to Nagano Station and a convenience store.

The Dormy Inn is a great hotel with a lovely onsen and some special extras like ramen soup late ant night and ice creams to have after your onsen. The staff were very friendly and although the rooms are small they were clean. Breakfast had a good variety but mainly Japanese dishes.

Good

Overall, excellent comment. However, it will be a cherry on the cake if there is a digital bath scale in each room.

Great service! English speaking staff. Tasty Asian breakfast buffet featuring local dishes. Free midnight ramen, juice and coffee. Water bottle refill station. Nice onsen (separate guys & girls) with fully stocked toiletries. Short walk to train station — very easy with luggage.

The breakfast was second to none. An onsen and sauna on the top floor was an extra bonus, and the massage chairs were amaizing

Perfect for a short stay in town, small but comfortable room, nice Onsen with free dessert ice creams after, a room upstairs with free massage chairs, breakfast was good too.

Across JR and local train station. Surrounded with food chains and 5mins walk to Don Quijote (Donki). Easy walk to Zenkoji Temple.

Best location

Very clean Comfort room Best onsen Best location

The hotel was in the best location. Very close to the train station, restaurants and shops. Everything you needed. Room was very clean and comfortable. Was good having the basin outside the bathroom. Shower was small and very steamy as no ventilation. Very convenient location to see snow monkeys and go skiing. On site Onsen was great.

Great location which is just a few mins from Nagano JR station, with lots of various kind of restaurant and convenient stores. Also nice natural hot spring public bath.

Dormy Inn Nagano is just a short walk from Nagano Station. There are numerous dining options in the vicinity, along with a Starbucks and a 7-Eleven positioned conveniently next to the hotel. Guests can enjoy complimentary ramen in the evening as a late-night snack. The public bath offers a pleasant experience as well. The staff is friendly and proficient in English. The Dormy Inn chain is known for its reliability, and I would highly recommend this hotel.

Great hot spring and service

First off, being right across the street from the station is a big plus in the dead of winter. This is a relatively small hotel with smallish rooms, but very capable overall. Nice little touches like nice pajamas and slippers, an onsen that is free to use, two massage chairs, free ice cream treats all day, and free late night soba. Service is also very good. Highly recommended.

The staff were friendly and hospitable. We were very comfortable, thank you! Great location!

Dormy Inn is always a reliable choice to stay in, especially with the well maintained public baths. The rooms are typically smaller though.

Erinomainen palvelu tässä aivan rautatieaseman lähellä sijatsevassa hotellissa. Kylpyläosasto ylimmässä kerroksessa on oikein mukava. Tänne on helppo tulla ja lähteä retkille.

Excellent!

Lovely roof top onsen. Steps to transit station, shops and restaurants. Quiet room.

Our first time staying in a Dormy Inn and actually really happy we did! We had a really good experience and would do it again

The Dormy Inn in Nagano was an excellent value! The location is first rate - less than 10 minutes walking from Nagano Station. The Inn has wonderful amenities - an indoor/outdoor onsen. After onsen free ice cream snacks. A very tasty breakfast including Japanese and western cuisine - the quality and variety was great and the price was reasonable. They also have chilled apple juice during the day and made to order ramen in the evening. If you miss the ramen, they will give you a Cup-of-Noodles. The room was typical for Japanese hotel rooms but efficiently laid out. The location was on a quiet side street but had many restaurants and shops close by. Zenkoji temple is only 1.5K away (you can walk it) Staff was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again

Housekeeping is wonderful. Hotel location is fabulous. Male staff for check in at night and the restaurant staff (for ramen) are a bit unfriendly. Needs improvement.

Close to the station, plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. Good clean hotel. Good value.

Hot spring was lovely. Room was small for 2 suitcases but comfortable. Breakfast was a mix of Western and Japanese so catered well for everyone. The complimentary extras such as fresh apple juice, coffee, ice cream and yakult were lovely touches. They also have onsite parking.

New and well designed hotel near Nagano station. Quiet room with everything you would need for one or two nights stay. Nice bonus of the hotel is onsen on eleventh floor.

I was very impressed by this hotel and would definitely return! It’s located very close to Nagano Station (approx. 2-5 min walk), so very convenient and easy to transport luggage. It’s located across the street from a Starbucks, beside a 7/11, and 30 seconds from a very cool restaurant that serves amazing vegan food. It’s very easy to catch a city bus nearby or walk (uphill) to the temple. I arrived in the morning, stored my luggage at the hotel before check-in, then went by bus to Snow Monkey Park. It’s very convenient if you’re considering this same route. When I return to check in, they had already brought my luggage to the room which made checking in a breeze! I was very pleasantly surprised — it’s the kind of service you’d expect at an upscale hotel. The room was very clean, comfortable, and a good size. The whole hotel was very clean and modern. The staff were very friendly. The onsen is also very nice. Located on the 11th floor, it has an outdoor hot pool as well. It’s open from 3 pm to 10 am. I really can’t say enough good things about this hotel — I was really impressed and most definitely would return!

Its traditional Japanese breakfast is simply awesome.

Outstanding hotel. The onsen was clean and modern and lovely. Included breakfast was excellent, they even had free “midnight ramen” which was great. Great restaurant options right downstairs, location next to train station very convenient.

We had a lovely stay. The room was small as is the case with every double room we had in Japan but everything else was great, especially the Onsen

The service was Amazing, all of the staff was wonderful. The in room massage was very relaxing, I wpuld definitely stay again.

Awesome place, close to the station and to restaurants. Safe, clean with relaxing onsen on the top floor. Definitely worth it!

The onset was amazing!

Free Popsicles free soba great Onsen. Free breakfast. And super cheap for what you get.

Their hot spring is truly amazing and definitely worth trying.

Excellent location, room was clean and quiet, lovely breakfast with freshly made soba noodles. Service was good. Enjoyed 2 night stays there.

Very Old building and bathroom. In dire need of updating—particularly the bathroom. Bed is as hard as a rock and pillows are as well. No extra towel. Would NOT recommend. On the positive side, tiny room was clean but VERY old. Pleasant staff

Very good location, facilities, and service

I traveled to Nagano to attend the Annual Nagano Firework Festival on the evening of November 23rd. The hotel I stayed at was a perfect location for all purposes, as it is conveniently located near Nagano Station and many cultural attractions. Additionally, the hotel provides a 24-hour front desk service and a public hot spring facility with an open-air bath and sauna, which was exactly what I needed.

Always enjoy our stay at Dormy Inn whenever we visit Japan. Dormy Inn Nagano has friendly and helpful staff, nice onsen and just a 5 minutes walk across from the Nagano Station. There are many eateries and shops in the area. Exit from JR, turn right, down the elevator and cross the road, walk towards Dormy Inn

I highly recommend this hotel. It's just a few minutes walk from the station on a quiet street. The staff are very friendly. We did the onsen and the nightly ramen which were bonuses(there's even a treat after the onsen). The rooom was clean and the breakfast buffet was pretty good. I can't find fault with this hotel.
