Beds were terribly hard and had a poor nights sleep because of it. Couch was also ridiculously hard.

This is an excellent place for an overnight stay on a long road trip. The accommodation was clean and comfortable.

Arriving and reception were 100% Then I was told that the dinner request I gave Martha: THERE IS NO RICE OR VEGGIES LEFT. IN REPLACEMENT, I CAN HAVE EITHER A SALAD, OR POTATO SALAD. IF TAKE BOTH, I HAD TO PAY R45.00 EXTRA. Reception, though, after I left my office to complain (copying your reception.) and give negative report, Reception let me know, " It was a MISUNDERSTANDING between her and Martha! Lamb shank, what was small and overcooked. rest was fine.

Provided a good braai meat and lit the fire.

Problem with bedding

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and served us delicious lamb dishes for dinner. The room and bathroom was spacious and pristinely clean, with a very comfortable bed. There was shaded free parking, very good wi-fi, and we had a lovely short walk where we could appreciate the various springboks and flowers on the farm. We would have enjoyed the braai facilities is we had come prepared for that with the necessary utensils, and meat, having arrived late after the farm store was already closed, but the dinner made up for this lack of preparedness on our part. One could definitely stay for longer than one night to immerse oneself in the peace of the Karoo. The AC was unexpected and appreciated.

My personal preference would be a teapot in the room, and face towels in the bathroom.

Its quiet, lovely people, staff very obliging to assist. Careing. I had a braai pack waiting for me which was nice. I relaxed. I could bring my two pugs. Also petrol station is 3km important for long haul

Bring mosquito repellent. Or get some from reception.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The place is clean and tidy. We had our dinner delivered to our cottage and it was exceptional.

Really great stay, would have loved to have stayed longer

Very convenient during my drive to Cape Town. Good menu offering . I would suggest to try the LAMB CURRY Gate only opens at 5am so my start to Cape Town was later than would have liked, but gave me more time to rest. Hot shower and comfortable bed

There was an issue between Host and Booking.com to retrieve my payment. So I had to cancel on BOOKING.COM and pay resort directly. Took a couple of days to get my money from BOOKING.COM I feel the host should have taken this up with BOOKING.COM instead of asking me to pay again and wait days for my refund. Just didnt feel right...........

Place is good but facilities were disappointing at my visit.

Aircons & Heaters not working, and it was very cold.Tv Satelite signal was poor.

We regularly stay at Travalia on our way to Cape Town. We normally love staying here as the location is perfect. Our dinner this time was dry, tasteless and very disappointing. It was definitely not up to its usual standard.

We did not have breakfast. Stayed in a 2-bedroom cottage that was as neat as a pin with all the essentials needed. Being so cold the electric blankets was an absolute bonus. Dankie Travalia!! PS. and then the big surprise was the fact that they are Pet Friendly!!!

The braai broodjies we ordered for R40 was just bread and no filling. However, we got refunded the following day but still would've been great to have it for our braai the previous night. We unfortunately arrived to late for us to query it.

Clean, great restaurant, delicious food. Electric blanket. Its very cold in mid winter and was needed. Seating in room. We ate in restaurant. Braai BBQ option also looked good as they supplied meat salad and utensils. Milk in fridge

Location was perfect and the accommodations is comfortable and had al that ones needs for a comfortable stop over.

The beds wasn't very clean, my daughter found a dirty pill holder under her pillow and I also had to dust out my bed before getting in as there was sand in my bed. Also the kettle in my unit did not work so I couldn't even have coffee before heading on the long road again. Lovely place but surely if someone booked in advance these are things that needs to be seen to before a client checks in later than check in times.

Bed was very hard and couches not comfy. Would prefer a piece of secluded lawn for the pooches.

Staff was friendly, bed was comfortable with good size room and shower. Dinner by a fireplace was cozy and comforting. The food was tasty. Clean and pretty setting. Nice braai facilities.

Because of the electric blanket and aircon, I could keep warm. There were also coffee making facilities with coffee and milk provided.

There was no wifi (unless you paid extra) or hairdryer.

Room was lovely and spacious with a lovely bathroom on suite. Bed was very comfortable and we sleep so well. Location is quiet and peaceful. Perfect overnight location for traveling from Johannesburg to Cape Town. Also ideal if traveling with pets

Breakfast : not applicable, but we got awesome freshly baked pies from the farm stall for the road ... very delicious !! Real value for money !! The dinner ... delivered to our room ... was superb and on the time ... lamb shank and lamb neck ... with awesome veggies and savoury rice ... and amazing sauce !! The beauty of the mountains at sunset and sunrise was breathtaking ... the quietness and tranquility was inspiring. A warm bed and room (with all amenities) was really appreciated after 800 km on the road. Our 2 furry friends were secure on the patio and secluded garden ... beautifullly maintained. Extreme cleanliness seemed to be the norm !! Very friendly staff !! Attention to detail, since booking ... and follow-ups !!

Information whether tap water is safe to drink ... but then ... we shoud have enquired. Wi-Fi availabilty ?? Should be part of checking in, whether or not ...

We loved that it was just next to the road, but far enough not to hear the traffic. It is very convenient, rooms are spacious, lovely large walk in shower with amazing hot water, aircon, TV with dstv, electric blanket that was amazing during the cold and rainy night. We ordered food and had the most amazing lamb curry that was served with yellow rice, pumpkin fritter and cauliflower and broccoli with a white sauce. Food quality was exceptional. Travalia comes highly recommended for all Travellers to and from Cape area. Safe and secure parking next to your unit, security on duty, fenced and very safe.

The accommodation was well kept and clean.

The meal in the restaurant was not good. The food was dry and overheated. The food was cold on a warm plate. The meal wasn't freshly cooked and we ate at 6 o'clock. The way it is served is not acceptable. Suggestion: prepare the veggies in a pot and keep it in the pot and let the guests dish up themselves. Veggies will not dry out and it creates a warm and homely atmosphere. You must start to think of a new way. The old way is no longer working. It was my 4th visit. We met some nice people in the restaurant
