Essentia Guest House

Lovely place, we enjoyed our stay, the host was welcoming so was the staff, nice breakfast. Great views of the lake since the location is up on the mountain. Overall good but not very central if you want freedom of movement. This beautiful property is more suited for a bit of sightseeing but early to bed. Some cute donkeys & goats as neighbours. :)

It is worth mentioning that the transport (bus) to the meeting point runs extremely limited times (it seems last bus is at 19.23pm even from nearby) although the host offers shuttle to pick you up from the meeting point, again it is limited until 22.30 so if you want to come back to the property say past 23pm be prepared to walk up the hill.

Amazing amazing amazing!! One of the best and most picturesque hotels I’ve stayed in across the world. Gianluca and his team have things running like clockwork. The shuttle service from the car park upto the hotel in a little Fiat isn’t for the fainthearted but adds to the unique charm of the hotel. Dinner and drinks are brilliant and authentic and very reasonably priced. Overall an outstanding 2 nights. Thanks again.

מקום מהמם על ראש ההר משקיף על כל אגם קומו. ההגעה למקום מצריכה תאום עם המארחים (ג'נלוקה היה מאוד אדיב). יש חניון וג'נלוקה הגיע לאסוף אותנו ואת המזוודות. בחצר העליונה יש ג'קוזי חיצוני. האוכל היה טעים. מקום מהמם!!!!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay in the mountains above Lake Como. The accommodation was beautiful, peaceful, and surrounded by breathtaking views. It was the perfect place to relax and escape the hustle and bustle, while still being close enough to enjoy everything the Como area has to offer. The setting was truly special, with stunning mountain scenery and a wonderfully tranquil atmosphere. Everything was comfortable and welcoming, making us feel right at home throughout our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would happily return. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful, beautiful getaway in the Como mountains!

Dieser spezielle Aufenthalt hat unsere Erwartungen übertroffen. Die Lage - speziell die Aussicht auf den See - ist einmalig. Die beiden Betreeungs-Team (morgens und abends) waren super. Ganz spezell möchte ich die Leistungen des Abend-Team von Stella und Sofia - erwähnen: sehr, sehr gastfreundlich und hilfsbereit, kompetent und autentisch und super Köchinnen. Etwas Einmaliges - haben wir so noch nie erlebt. Hier oben kann man sehr gut die Seele baumeln lassen.

I fell in love with the terrace and its beautiful view when I first saw the photos on Booking.com, so before our stay I asked the owner if we could reserve the table overlooking the lake for dinner. Not only did he arrange it for dinner, but he also let us have the same table for breakfast the following morning, which was such a lovely touch. We had spent the previous few days sightseeing in Milan and Turin, and this was our last stay before returning to London. I really wanted somewhere special where we could slow down and relax, and Essentia Guest House was perfect. We took the C131 bus from Como San Giovanni to Molina. The journey itself was beautiful, with wonderful views over the lake. When we arrived in Molina, the owner picked us up from the bus stop and drove us up the hill to the guest house. Being so high up is part of what makes this place so special. There is almost nothing to interrupt the view across the lake and surrounding mountains. After arriving, we relaxed in the hot tub overlooking the lake, which felt amazing after several busy days of travelling. Later we had drinks on the terrace with mellow, relaxing music playing in the background. There is also a very friendly cat and some lovely donkeys, which made the place feel even more charming. After a little nap, we had dinner at our terrace table. We really enjoyed the food and wine and had such a lovely evening. Being surrounded by nature and animals, with good food and genuinely kind people, was exactly what we needed :D Thank you again for hosting us and for making our last night in Italy so memorable!

Honestly, nothing. The location does take a little effort to reach, but for us the journey up into the hills was part of the experience, and the owner kindly picked us up from the bus stop in Molina.

Prachtige locatie om echt tot rust te komen. Vriendelijk personeel Kleinschalig dus echt fijn om tot rust te komen Leuke ervaring toen Sofia ons op kwam halen bij de parking om de berg op naar het Guest House te rijden door de smalle straatjes waar de fiat panda net doorheen paste.

Vilken magisk plats på jorden! 🌟Den utsikten, lugnet och den vackra miljön. Personalen är fantastisk och likaså maten! ( dottern är vegan och det löste dom med bravur!) Vi verkligen njöt och jag kommer sent glömma denna upplevelsen! ( vi kom med egen bil- parkerade nere vid byn och blev upphämtade av transfer; den lilla resan upp till hotellet på en smal kullerstensväg var bara den en magisk upplevelse) Jag hoppas så att jag får komma dit igen!❤️

Nous avons été très étonné qu'une "navette" vienne nous chercher mais quelle bonne surprise et quelle rigolade pour monter jusqu'à l'hôtel ! La vue est incroyable ! On n'a plus envie de redescendre... le petit déjeuner est à la carte et on peut dîner les soirs, c'est juste parfait. Les filles sont d'une extrême gentillesse et à vos petits soins. Si vous voulez un endroit calme, je vous le recommande.

Les oreillers n’étaient pas confortables Difficile d’accès quand on a beaucoup de bagages. L’hôte vient nous chercher en bas du village pour monter en punto car les voitures ne passent pas. Mais cela fait aussi le charme du lieu!

Fantastic location! The view of the lake and the tranquility up in the mountains was absolutely perfect. This mixed with great service by the staff made it a great experience that I'd definitely recommend to others. I will come again.

Las vistas desde el hotel son excelentes. El spa maravilloso, con un horario muy amplio y desde el que había vistas al lago y la montaña. El restaurante, el entorno, la decoración son encantadores.

No hay mucho personal, con lo que si las demandas de los clientes se acumulan, hay que esperar. La habitación es un poco pequeña.

Der Ausblick war einfach wunderschön! Die Unterkunft liegt mitten in den Bergen und bietet eine traumhafte Atmosphäre. Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Ankunft wurde so angenehm wie möglich gestaltet. Das Personal war freundlich und herzlich. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen und kommen gerne wieder.

The host is very nice, the view is magnificent. It is like a very remote place - very closed to Como. The shuttle to the house gives you a unique feel.

The room could be a little better cleaned. The entire place can get a little refresh. It's not bad for the location, but there is room to improve. It's not cheap by any mean - so the expectations were high.

We loved our stay at Essentia Guest House! We stayed here right before heading down to Tuscany with our two dogs. We all felt completely at home here and so warmly welcomed. We had the best wine we had tried the whole trip (and we stayed at many many different places during our travels) and the most romantic dinner together in their garden with incredible views over looking Lake Como. This stay was dreamy and we will always remember it!

Possibilité de garer la voiture dans un endroit sur et on vient nous chercher avec une voiture adaptée aux ruelles étroites, irréelles . La pizza a été parfaite ainsi que le petit-déjeuner. This place is extremely breathtaking, the tranquility, the views were out of this world. The room was perfect with everything that you need. Sparkling clean and comfortable There is a great set up for breakfast and dinner. Having Delicious fresh food overlooking the lake with the sun going down was the highlight of the stay. You cannot drive here. You must park at the bottom of the hill and get the "shuttle". It was such an adventure availing of said shuttle as all the fit on the "road" is a fiat panda. The shuttle is available for most of the day but it is possible to walk with a small level of fitness. Thoroughly recommend for some r&r

the only negative thing is that in order to reach the place past 23:30 you need to either take the stairs or just come back sooner since its not possible to drive there with a big car, but thats only if you are a young couple otherwise you would be fine

Gianluca was very friendly, welcoming and proactive sharing improtant information prior to arrival. The shuttle service was fast and an experience by itself through the narrow streets for the old town.

No es posible subir al alojamiento con coche propio asi que el personal te tiene que estar subiendo y bajando. El mocho de la ducha se nos caía y también el colgador de toallas (igual hay que darle un repaso a eso). No hay aire acondicionado y pasamos un poco de calor en las habitaciones.

怀疑该旅馆的评分存在极大水分。我是冲着booking上的高评分，帮朋友六个人预订了两晚三间房，结果到了现场发现，由于上山道路宽度严重不足，我们的车辆行驶过程中车身多次与路边障碍物发生剐蹭，造成车漆大面积损伤，得赔500欧修车；住宿是无法直接开车上去的，到了停车场得联系他们的人来接，这点没有提前告知，一次只能坐2人，6个人分了三趟，每趟花费近1小时的接送来回时间，包括住宿方的用车也是剐蹭严重，车身伤痕累累；千辛万苦上去住宿以后，还得搬行李步行上去，但实际风景与图片上仍有较大差距，且周边荒凉，导致6位朋友直接拒绝办理入住，当场就要返回山下。经司机现场多次沟通，住宿方才肯送我们的人下山。酒店周边无任何步行可达的餐饮、商业配套，夜间也无任何公共交通可进出，非常不便。 而最吸引人前往的山上风景也被电线给阻挡住了。 总共订了三间房两个晚上一千多欧，住宿房一分不退不让，我在国外与店家打了45分钟国际长途，直至话费全部耗尽，也协商无果。我认为，理解也是高质量服务的一部分，作为booking资深老用户这么多年来，我还是第一次踩那么大的坑，朋友也翻脸了。

W samym obiekcie nic, szkoda tylko że autobus miejski jeździ tak rzadko do tej miejscowości, mogłoby być więcej odjazdów dla podróżujących bez auta.

Ulaşım tesise ait küçük araçlarla mümkün olduğunca. Gün içinde Como'ya gidip gelmek isteseniz yine işletmeciden sizi aşağıya bırakmasını sormak gerek. Hayır demezler herhalde ama kısıtlayıcı bir durum yine de. Bir gece kaldığımız için böyle bir sorun olmadı.

I strongly suspect this accommodation’s ratings are heavily inflated and misleading. As a long-term loyal senior user of Booking, I booked three rooms for two nights for six of my friends specifically because of the property’s high review scores on the platform, with a total cost of over 1,000 euros. However, upon arrival, we encountered severe issues. The mountain access road is extremely narrow. While driving up, our vehicle scraped repeatedly against roadside obstacles, causing extensive damage to the car paint, with repair costs amounting to 500 euros. We were not informed in advance that guests cannot drive directly to the lodging. We had to park our car first and wait for the hotel staff to pick us up. Their shuttle vehicle only carries 2 people per trip, so our group of six needed three separate transfers. Each round trip took nearly an hour. Notably, the hotel’s own shuttle car was also covered in scratches and dents from constant scraping on the narrow road. After enduring the arduous transfer, we still had to carry all our luggage and walk uphill to the accommodation. What is more disappointing is that the actual scenery was vastly different from the promotional photos. The surrounding area is desolate and isolated, which made all six of my friends refuse to check in on the spot and insist on returning downhill immediately. Only after repeated negotiations with the driver did the property finally arrange transportation to send us back down the mountain. There are no restaurants, shops or basic amenities within walking distance of the lodging, and no public transportation is available at night, making it completely inaccessible and extremely inconvenient. Additionally, the iconic mountain views, the main highlight that attracted our booking, are heavily blocked by overhead power lines. Despite us never checking in or using any accommodation services, the property refuses to issue any full or partial refund for our two-night, three-room reservation.

The pre-booking information prompts need to be more comprehensive and detailed, and the overall service flexibility and inclusiveness of the host still require significant improvement. More than ten days have passed. Both Booking and we have communicated with the property multiple times, yet they have completely ignored our messages. Their appalling attitude is truly disappointing. I will continue to file appeals and will not give up.

This was the perfect vacation with an amazing view, great food and service. The host was so accommodative and helped us coordinate the shuttle service with the bus timing. Would love to visit again!

Ottimo posto tranquillo, arroccato sulla montagna con vista mozzafiato sul lago di Como, cena e colazione molto piacevoli, ideale per staccare la spina un paio di giorni.

Cadre bucolique, literie confortable, personnel très réactif aux demandes et aux messages. Vue magnifique et repas délicieux. L’hôte est venu nous chercher en navette depuis un parking gratuit car notre voiture ne pouvait pas accéder au logement. À pied en descente nous ne sommes à 10-12 minutes de la voiture donc pas dérangeant du tout 😊 l’endroit est pratique avec ses chemins privés perdu dans la verdure pour balader nos deux chiens.

The location is perfect, atop of a mountain, with an amazing view over the Como lake and mountains around. Very atipic, the location is unreachable by car, at least not recommended. They have their own cars very narrow and scratched :)) to carry passengers and luggage from the parking in Molina to the booking location. Don't be afraid, they are professional drivers on extremely narrow pathways in a medieval city and very steep hill roads. Once you reach the location, the view is amazing, peace for the soul. And the girls are very kind and helpful, we were very happy overall.

Выходит хозяйка и предлагает что у нее есть сегодня в ассортименте . Как будто в гости пришел В отеле очень приятные хозяева , всегда встречали у остановки , довозили на верх . Хороший завтрак . Das Hotel ist auf einem Hügel, sodass Hinfahren und Parken vor Ort unmöglich: man ist auf Abholservice/Bringservice vom Hotelinhaber angewiesen. Dies muss man bei so einer Internetseite klar beschreiben, meines Erachtens, weil man ja nicht freiwillig mal in die Stadt kann. Die Stadt Como ist auch nicht so ganz in der Nähe. Die Sauna(sog. hot tub) ist nur auf Nachfrage unter verschiedenen Gästen/ Zimmer zeitlich ''abzustimmen''. Das Wasser war sehr eklig, also sicherlich nicht ausgetauscht worden. Damit wirbt dieses Gästehaus eigentlich in Booking.. Außerdem die Badetücher etc nur einmal kostenlos, Austausch auf Gebühr. Es gibt sog. Hotel-Restaurant mit Getränken und Pasta/Pizza( die Preise überzogen). Alles in allem ist das Hotel , meines Erachtens, kein 5-Sterne Anlage, wenn dann max. 3 oder 4 Sterne würdig.

We’ve seen Lake Como from the road, from boats, from postcards — but waking up to it from Essentia is something else entirely. The guest house has cultivated something genuinely warm and international — a mix of travelers from different corners of the world who somehow all end up lingering over breakfast together, swapping recommendations, laughing easily. It felt less like a hotel common area and more like someone’s well-traveled home. And breakfast deserves its own mention. Thoughtful, generous, and delicious — the kind of morning meal that quietly sets the tone for a perfect day. This is a team that has clearly done this a long time, and it shows in the details: the timing of things, the small gestures, the sense that your comfort was considered before you even arrived. Essentia isn’t just a great place to stay near Lake Como — it’s a reason to come back.

La vista lago meravigliosa ! Un posto super tranquillo in mezzo alla natura.

Tutto veramente bello ma unica cosa che io ho paura delle salite è discese rimpede con le stradine strette ma a como è tante altre paese sono posizionate tutte in salita .cmq c'era sempre la navetta che portava dal parcheggio al albergo .personale super gentile. Vacanza rilassante.

Un alojamiento en lo alto de la montaña con unas vistas espectaculares. Los dueños muy amables, muy buen trato. El desayuno riquísimo. La habitación muy bonita, con una buena vista del lago Como. En el exterior te puedes sentar en una zona muy agradable a mirar las vistas.

A truly perfect choice to unwind and disconnect. Beautiful views of the lake, a relaxing jacuzzi, fresh air, chirping birds, delicious food, and very friendly staff. We felt completely relaxed.

The breakfast was great and hearty and you can order it the night before. A nice selection of food and it was served warm to our table. The location is extremely beautiful. This place offers great views over to the Como Lake and surrounding mountains and the jacuzzi is a nice addition for a relaxing afternoon/evening.

For a longer stay the fact that you can´t drive up to the accommodation yourself could become a hassle particularly with family. The walk up is though doable for normal fit people. Without this constraint we would have gave 10.

Stunning views of Lake Como! Our room had views out of every window. The hosts were brilliant and easy to contact even when we needed a last minute shuttle. The food was also delicious and very reasonable.
