Pembina River Inn

I had the executive suite for 3 nights. Large room, high ceilings, couch, small dining table, and kitchenette. Unfortunately, the bed was uncomfortable, seems old, and uncomfortable pillows (too thick and hard). Train, highway, and plumbing noice throughout the night. No cold water, runs warm. Lots of dead flies on floor and window sill.

Run down - Weeds at front door - bugs - window cracked , a/c system filter full of mold - checked in, paid and left without refund

The, shower did not work.

The building is quite old and is starting to show it. Overall, for the price paid it was not a bad place.

The place is too old. No upgrades to make it look nice. Staff does not look happy to be there. It comes with only one pillow per bed. Not worth the money they ask.

The room was great for the price. The only thing that bothered me was the kitchenette did not have a cutting board or a knife for chopping. I had booked a kitchenette specifically because I needed to prepare a salad for a wedding I was attending and using a steak knife to chop veggies and trying not to scratch any surfaces was tough. Other than that it was well worth the money spent.

Listen, it’s not the ritz but for a budget inn on the side of the highway it’s really cute and has everything you need. My friend and I stayed here during The Womp music festival and would stay here again. The staff were super nice as well.

Beds were clean and comfortable.

Clean & Quiet

Cute quiet and comfy

It’s convenient. Nothing fancy but clean bed. Hot shower.

Ben linens were disgusting, pillows were yellow and pubic hairs were all over the sheets, clearly hadn’t been washed in a long time. No staff was present when we came back to the room after initially checking in, no one to air any grievances to, so we left the key and walked out and returned the hour and a half drive back to the City at the end of a very laborious day. Even more ridiculous, this company has refused to refund my initial night’s hotel stay. The reservation was 2 nights and was given back only the second night, with no good reason, effectively stealing from me and now forcing me to go to Visa to resolve this. So much for being a “VIP” member…..what an absolute joke.

Mostly fine, but the walls are paper thin and the neighbours kept us up until the wee hours of the morning. The manager apologized and did his best to solve the problem.

If you like trains then you would like this place. Hotel is somewhat run down but is clean. Needs some work but no other place to stay in Evansburg that I would stay in.

Good road-side motel. It was clean, the bed was comfy, and it’s safe. Wifi was good too. Really all you can ask for the price.

The toilet in #4 needs fixing. Need drinking glasses. Beds were good.

Paper thin walls but the bed was comfy

decent place friendly staff. Restaurants close by

Good value for traveller.

Great quality, and very clean

Easy to get to and close to restaurants

Your basic highway side motel - clean and reasonably priced.

Basic roadside motel, effective for an overnighter. Looks to have been recently updated, very clean and kitchenette had what I need with the exception of a wash cloth and drying towel. Close to highway so traffic noise was high - ear plugs for the quiet sleeper.

They weee accommodating when we had to change and get 2 beds instead of one.

Could use and upgrade on their indoor lighting however it was pleasant and I actually stayed 2 extra days ,😊

Refer to "how was your room"👆 Full of flies Vaping thing found "in the bed" Dirty fish on microwave.

Great value for the money. Beds were great and everything was as we needed. Thanks.

Staff was friendly. If you are staying for a night, economical.

This motel didn't have deadbolts on the doors just handle locks. While they updated them, it appear that they had just laid cheap laminent overtop of carpet. The sheets looked stained - just gross. There is also train noise nearby.

Nothing was replaced after 1st night stay....meaning coffee items, etc. There was a hand written message on the wall by the door "not to push the button in on the knob as it locks when you close it"...not true and really ?? Having said this the price was retro 1990's and the dudes in the office were great. I would stay there again for the price...knowing what to expect.

This motel is so cool! The vintage rooms are so clean and charming. We stayed in a room with 2 beds and a kitchenette. The room feels like a cottage from back in the day. I hope the rooms stay this way and don’t become sterile and boring like modern motel rooms. I’d go back! Pretty country view out tge back window, room stayed very dark and there are diners next door. We got in late at night and the staff was very friendly

This place was cute, clean & upkept! It's a nice change to a modern cold like feel of a hotel. We really enjoyed our stay!

Good security and really nice Reno’s on the rooms

Great value for cost The staff were welcoming and friendly

Rooms were clean but out dated. They didn’t have the room that we reserved available and put us in a different room with only one bed instead of the 2 we reserved

Great place to stay !

Friendly and helpful staff. The towels could be better quality. The aircon needs some work but overall had a great stay.

Ver friendly staff!

The property was aged and in need of an overall update. The bathroom even though “clean” was very run down. The bed was comfortable but the bedding needed extra attention.

The staff were very helpful and the rooms extremely clean

it was fine overall. we were just looking for clean bed and hot shower. towels were pretty thin though.

This property was clean and the stuff was super nice. You will need to bring your own towel, as their hotel towels are tiny. Also bring your own soap, as their bar soap is very drying.

Nice staff, freindly.

The room as an amazing size and very comfortable and quiet for sleeping on my one night's stay. The desk clerk was very accommodating and helped to make my stay enjoyable.

The cabin was rustic. It was clean and comfortable, I’d stay again. Bring your own toiletries though and towels. Towels there were small. Toilet paper was 1 ply. Staff were friendly.

The room was very clean! The only issue I had was with the toilet not flushing properly but that was solved with a couple of uses of a plunger. The room had a log cabin feel and was huge. I loved the frosted windows in the couch area. The bed was a bit harder than I am used to but still reasonably comfortable. Check in was seemless as I booked through Expedia. Would stay again

Older motel, not the Hilton but was super clean, soft beds, good food next door

👍

Staff was great and easy to deal with great people very dated property could use renos as there are things falling apart but other then that no issues pretty clean

Had a relaxing evening in a very cozy cabin like room. Really comfy pillows and bedding. No cold water for drinking though.

Okay for price

Go to the journeyman next door. Better price and service.

Place is a little dated but has been renovated it’s a decent place and good price. Would stay again

Dated property but everything worked and the beds were decent

Everything was good, they need to buy better quality coffee

A nice stopover for a friends wedding. Nice condition for an older motel.

Was quite happy with the motel. It was clean, well kept and very handy to good quite good restaurants.

Convenient for the task I had. Staff helpful

A lovely little spot to stay. Perfect place on the way out of Jasper and on the way to Drumheller. Friendly, clean and relaxed.

Nice and clean he looks after it well!

Affordable and nice motel

Very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Nice quiet stay. Was only one night but would book there again

Great little place to stay. Very friendly owners.

It wasn’t terrible, wasn’t the best, affordable price!!! And grateful to find a vacant room. Bed was not the most comfortable but a good enough stop for the night before continuing on our travels. Woulda been nice to have a fridge but maybe that was offered in a different room at a different price point.

It was a perfect motel; it is simple but perfect! Lots of room, full size fridge, restaurants right next door! I only stayed one night but wish it was longer and would stay here again! The room felt very cozy, with a cottage feel with all the wood, and the high ceilings. The hosts truly care and were incredible!! 10 out of 10!

Very Nice Big Room. Full Kitchen with Fridge, stove, kitchen table, dishes in cubboards. Air Conditioner, Couch, tv. Close by from Restaurants.I would go back there.

The owners were so friendly. The room was clean, no bugs, and fit my needs perfectly. I got a kitchenette suite mainly for the fridge to store my food. The towels were very absorbent but tiny. You may want to bring your own towel if you like them big! Highly recommend staying here. I came for a festival and I will definitely be staying here the next year for this festival again!

The vintage motor court lodge has excellent internet, comfy beds & lots of hot water. It's located right next door to a good restaurant The room was clad in gorgeous molding type vertical tongue and groove wood. The tall vaulted ceiling was also wood, creating an inviting space. Everything was spotless. The only thing I didn't like was the in room coffee: the two individual coffee servings were meant for a one cup brewer - not a 12 cup machine! They did provide filters, but I didn't bring coffee... Overall? I'd stay there again.

Very affordable. Very nice Staff. Clean and nice. Nice beds.

We enjoyed our stay at this motel, as it was very clean and had friendly staff.

The staff was very friendly & helpful & the room was clean & quiet.

Had a great stay. Thank you!

Manager and staff are great

Well it was better then the last time I was here seems more positive attitude and things look like there up kept I’m happy about it. Such a nice peaceful place

Very friendly staff. Accommodations were spotless.Thank you for the late check out .

No one bothers us Food is close decent comfortable and friendly

The shower water pressure was fantastic. This is an older property, but clean and in good repair. The rooms have a rustic cabin feel to them. Great value.

Super cozy room. Love the wood finishes, the cabin feel. Sparsely supplied kitchen, new but hard bed. Could use a memory foam topper.

The room was nice, clean and big, with a full size refrigerator, microwave, tv, ensuite bathroom and all. My only concern was the door kept rattling. I pushed it in once to close it but the lock seemed loose and the doorframe could do with some sealing. This is a simple fix however, to increase guest feeling of safety and maybe save some dollars on heating costs 😁

Staff were very kind, the room was very large.

We wish to thank the Manager and his Wife of the Pembina River Inn for the kindness and consideration they gave to us when we were stranded along Hwy 16 (near Entwistle) without our vehicle. They were both very friendly and very welcoming. The room was comfortable, clean and well appointed. We would highly recommend this accommodation to fellow travelers who require good accommodation at reasonable prices along this very busy highway.

Lots of nostalgic to the place was very clean. Older motel needs updating. Train was loud at night for me, but maybe alright for others. One bed was new the other was ancient. Enough said cute place though.

Very good host and facililties just one suggestion pan in kitchen need replacement

The place was nice and quiet, cute lil place, would definitely stay again

This motel is older, cabin feel inside. Room was clean. Staff was very friendly! Convenient location, restaurants within walking distance. My only complaint is that the mattress was very hard, and resulted in a very poor sleep.

Lovely stay. Exactly what we were looking for. The room was cozy, clean, and spacious. The beds were comfortable. Perfect stay for after tubing. Easy walk to the restaurants. Fun for a quick trip away from Edmonton.

Nice spacious rooms. Beds very very hard. Air conditioner not working so room unbearably hot. Staff were wonderful and prices were great

Very clean

Clean quiet great price

Quaint place, old but clean. Would stay again. Good price.

absolutely terrible. cigarette burns all over the room. couldn’t drink the water because the water is very cloudy. the biggest dump i’ve ever stayed in.

The owners will ruin your day! I read the bad reviews and thought, oh I will just check in and and get on with it as I consider myself pretty easy going. The check in was so unpleasant and weird, it made me very upset to be treated like that in front of my son. The room had bugs and was musty, which I could overlook. I don't understand why thw owners hate their customers so much.

Not in Entwistle but close to the highway,Glad I could get a space with a kitchenette at 10 PM in the rain as planning to camp. Friendly front staff. Internet sporatic.Needless to say always ask to see the room before accepting. Glad I had toted my food and own utensils, the general supply of the latter lacking. I ended up doing a good clean of the stove top burners and the fridge, which had been out power for a while and trays of melted water, which spilled on the rug, and contained an expired milk carton.A downpour of rain also had some wetness in bathroom floor, shower dripped. Coffee maker well supplied but no cups. Bed linens clean.Lady at front desk did come to see situation and gave out some cleaning supplies.

The owner was friendly-moved us to a new room when the heat didn't work in the first one and brought us towels when there were none in the second room 😜. There are trains and a highway close by. And the Internet doesn't work. Hhmmmm....restaurants close by.

Running across Canada and back for Alzheimer's and Breast Cancer awareness and much needed research funding obviously requires a lot of updating on the Internet. Before purchasing the room; "Do you have wifi" yes yes. Is it working... yep no password is needed I was told. Now I push a 140 pound jogging stroller and just ran over a 100km today. Meaning whwn I'm done I don't want to repack and travel even further. The "discount rate" is the rate which I seen online using the data on my phone before I was even there, however no discount or compensation will be given out for the Internet not working when clearly it's the only reason why I'm here. Poor service.

The rooms are beatiful and reasonably clean. There is a very noisy fridge in the rooms. The owner is not very friendly. He charge a different price from the one in the reservation receipt. The place is supposed to have free wifi, but it just wouldn't work (the owner already knew that).

I stayed one night on Jan 2,2016. small town motel but very clean and comfortable(Actually, I wasn't expecting that much;however, I was satisfied.) I took a bath with no problem. (whenever I stay at a motel/hotel, I take a bath) Receptionist is so friendly.

I was looking for a place to stay overnight and came across this gem!!! Very clean and good price. The owner just took over this place so many things are upgraded. I was impressed with how clean the room and excellent the service was! Definitely recommend if you are looking for a place to stay overnight, weekly, or monthly in Entwistle Alberta!

Owner is extremely rude. He should not be a business owner. He should be reported to the health authority for the disgusting rooms! The man has absolutely no damn heart. Over $500 a week to stay in a nasty, dirty 1971 hotel room.

There is a place just a few places up I asked tripadvisor to add in case I ever stay there that looks newer but this place looks quaint yes older but $5 cheaper and you get kitchenettes. The inside brings you a few years back see the pictures I added, but it is clean, has Internet and was only ($72)$81 inc tax a night. Owner appears maybe slightly uninterested at first but is quite a nice fellow, 3 restaurants, (will review when added) 2 lounges, liquor stores, 2 gas stations all within walking distance.
