Provider-sourced guest reviews.
We stayed in this hotel in the past and the noise was terrible. I let it off as thought it could be a one time off. But same experience again. The noise coming from the staff chatting away in the corridors is horrendous. Oblivious of the fact that guests are trying to get some rest. The rooms that may not be sound proof do not help with this at all. You can hear people walking along the corridors. And the music coming from the reception can wake guests up in the middle of the night. I am thinking of not booking in this hotel in the future.
It was a convenient area along Lacson Street but there was a limited parking space. There were lots of restaurants nearby, but you are right next to the hustle and bustle. The hot water in the morning for shower is not working. There was only 1 pillow and you have to pay for another extra pillow. It was loud especially when people close their doors, which makes sleep and relaxation interrupted. I booked rooms for 10 days and wished I didn’t.
The hotel was very old
Bugs in bathroom
Great location however the room was a little bit tired and had water damage on the ceiling
I have always stayed here every time Im in Bacolod.. very convenient location - near lots of food options and easy commute. But the hotel definitely needs renovation and upgrading. It started to get untidy and bathrooms near the resto and poolside are smelly. Though staff and service had always been the same and the convenience of the fifth floor spa is always a plus.
One of my go to hotel when in bacolod. Near many places and convenient
Poor reception service and room, room has cobwebs
Not that okay. So strict about late check out.
everything was ok
Excessive noise from the check in desk also problems when checking out about housekeeping towels missing Wanted p600
Booked for two nights, had to change rooms and Reception was able to get one after a short wait. Room was old, paint job in room was peeling off; rainfall shower had a crack and was dripping all over. Shower door had a gap where water spilled out onto the bathroom floor, causing the floor tiles to be slippery. Asked for spare pillows but there was a charge to get one per night, which I would assume should be a free item on request for hotels.
We have stayed at Ave Suites a few times and this time was the best. We got a room with a king size bed and the room appeared to have been remodeled. They have a nice restaurant, pool and spa at a reasonable price. The only knock is the lack of parking and the road noise from Lacson Street traffic.
Smoking area inside by pool was very refreshing..
We always stay in this hotel but this time it was a nightmare! There were bugs everywhere and the room is very very old! There were molds in the bathroom too! In there cafe we waited for our breakfast for too long and when they gave it to us, the plastic utensils have a cockroach legs!! And mind you we were traveling with a child and it was terrible seeing so much cockroaches!
Limited parking space.
family friendly
Everything good, but only hand was available. Weak water stream, and cold.
Room was nice but shower heads need replaced they are not working . Also their free breakfest was a joke ! We order from menu and seat next to others . Others must have been walk in their meals come out and looked like a plate full. We got ours and could have put both meals on a coffee cup saucer. Three bites and eggs were gone .... but they were good. Also three pancakes size of half dollars .ask for aecond cup of coffee and witness got upset telling me i qould have to pay for it . I said it doesnt matter and bring me coffee. She wasn't very nice .
it's good
Very strict re check out time.
Room needs maintenance. Also, many people in our group stated LOW or no hot water. Issue Needs addressing.
Good
Everything works. Staff are friendly and helpful. Great restaurant at lobby. Decent value. We keep coming back!
This is my second stay here. The staff is always gracious will be back soon.
I like its location but they need to improve their cleanliness. The pool is dirty too.
Slow service In dining
Took sometime for my order of coffee and cake to be delivered to the pool area when the cafe is just a few steps away. Had to walk and follow up my order.
My friend stayed and said it was nice
It was just ok in cleanliness. Great when we arrived but housekeeping during the stay could have been better. They didn’t wipe down the bathroom or clean the cups. No refills on coffee. Just made the bed and put new towels on the bed. Not even a clean bath mat
Excellent experience.
Poor service. will not go back at all
The staffs are not rude but poor customer service. I booked the room for my mom and kids to rest because of power outage but end up getting upset during check in as they we're told that they have to pay for the pool access.
Place is great closer to everything, but they charges my sister and my nephew for extra night omg!! Not getting back on this place again,
Everything worked as expected. Good service. Great coffee shop. Great location. Not fancy but everything we needed.
Staff was very good but you could hear everything in the room.
Bathroom cleanliness. Parking issues with parking w/ accessibility. Still not bad
The pool was green when we first arrived. The room was dark, and the linen had holes. I requested a change of bedding, and the response was that they change it every three days. So, If I only stayed for two days. You, the new guest, might use my used sheets. Lol. My family visited me at the hotel, and finally, the pool was fixed after several days. We went for a swim and requested towels to dry up. Btw PHP250 pesos per person and PHP50 pesos for towels with no visible lifeguard on standby. Delivering a towel took them 1.5 hours, and they argued over PHP50. He didn't even apologize nor give proper reasons why he took so long to provide us with towels. I do not recommend anyone staying at the hotel at all.
Good
I didn’t like that house keeping never cleaned the room every day until late in the I would request it. I’ve stayed in many hotels all over the world and cleaning the rooms every is usually a norm. Also the tv had an abundance of channels, none of them were working. Either from no signal or no subscription. There was no mini refrigerator in the room… that is definitely a first for me. And finally… I only ate in the restaurant for breakfast, but they frequently failed to serve my eggs as ordered. I do believe though that they were trying to get it right, I just don’t like runny eggs and I guess maybe they think runny eggs are normal.
Overall, a nice, comfortable.. however, they seemed to have a charge for even small requests, like an extra pillow…
Excellent shower with Rainflow head, staff were super helpful, bed was clean, wifi worked perfectly, quiet, peaceful, no kareoke sounds anywhere, no sirens, no smog, peaceful rest after a long journey
Accessible
Strategic location, Great customer service, Wonderful housekeeping and admitting staff...
This is a nice hotel close to stores and restaurants but there is no quality control with housekeeping. Toilets have a stained ring like it needs a real good bleaching and scrubbing. AC was not working well and it was dripping. Problem was resolved after we were moved to a different room
Nice property for the cost, it is better than the last time we stayed there. Parking is limited and it's on the main road so lots of traffic. They has a spa on the 5th floor which is very nice and on premise dining.
Very nice area
This was a 1st with last minute booking on my part, the hotel was amazing and staff was very professional and friendly. I would highly recommend for anyone looking to book a hotel, plus was within range of everything by taxi or even walking. A last minute booking for 2 nights stay only cost $84 U.S dollars had a pool gym bar and even a coffee dinning area. I will be there next year it was that good a hotel.
Overall outstanding. Excellent wifi even out by the pool which was the designated smoking area. Service was impeccable. Lots of great local restaurants nearby and street food. The Provincial Capitol is close as well as Ayala mall. Our only complaint is that my wife brought a glass down from the room to the pool and, when we checked out, they tried to charge us for it. My wife complained and they went on a search. After about 15 minutes, I got tired of the taxi waiting for us so we paid the 250 pesos and got on our way. But overall, outstanding.
It's near a ATM
The room is spacious and clean but they don't provide amenities. They only have shower gel and towels, no sleeper as well. The property is along the road and you can hear the busy sound of vehicles running around the whole night.
This hotel have fine rooms but really bad service. My problem with the service is that personal is blindly following process dnd can't think by themself. Can I get extra bacon, I have to ask my manager. You have forgot to put towls in the room, we have to go and check before hznding it out etc... Room is nice and everything seemed to work. Pool is good but may not be free, we had to pay for our kid using the pool. Only one elevator so you will be waiting a bit. Bredkfast is not buffet but quality is ok.
Zimmer gut eingerichtet das Bad hat kein 4 sterne nivo, Kein kaltes Wasser, nur am Flur Wasserspender. Pool loock and feel good
Everything is ok except the towels that way too old already. They need to replace to a new white one.
It's clean, friendly staff but too noisy and no fridge in our room so make sure to check if you have a fridge in your room if you stay longer.
The stay in Avenue suite has been very good. Staff are great and friendly. Easy to get around by foot from snacks to meals.
Very accessible for transportation when needed. What I loved most they have Sauna in their spa at the 5th floor if not mistaken. And a good lap pool at the ground floor section.
Bed was fragile . Lots of movement. Shower head broken. Advertised sound proof room. Was not. Light switches broken .
Hotel staff very courteous and helpful but overall hotel experience was bad…very poor internet connection, gym is chargeable, extra pillow/ ice/ extra blanket all chargeable, no hot water in shower. Not recommending this hotel to friends and family! R.C (IL, USA)
Rooms are very large, very high ceilings. Nice shower and bed. There is a desk, but the desk chair is not very professional. Overall we were very pleased with the check in and accomidations.
Pro - proximity to restaurants, cafes, salons, spas, and shopping malls. - quiet and you can't hear outside the walls. -Bed and pillows were comfortable. Cons - Old, under maintained hotel. Old towels, no longer white. 50php daily fee per towel if you request more towels than what is provided in the room. - Electric kettle not working. - Water dispenser in the hallway doesn't dispense hot water. - toilet dispenser broke. -AC works but the room isn't cool enough. -No microwave in the room. -Bathroom appears to be clean. -Bathroom lights flicker. Ok hotel if you are on a budget, but I won't be staying here again in the future, I'd rather splurge on the 5star hotels near by.
Friendly service and cleanliness
Very clean and beautiful
Rooms were clean but everything in the room was so minimalistic and basic
On arrival we changed our room to a 2bed. We were told that it would cost an extra1200php per night but we were offered a deal 1000php per night. This did not include breakfast. A neighbouring property where we stayed last year offered a similar price but with buffet breakfast included. The windows in the room were dirty. Extras in the room were a kettle and 2 cups with saucers. No water was provided, no fridge in the room. Extra towels etcetera could be had only at an additional fee.
I like the area, it's very near to my favorite shopping area and the place is safe and quiet. Thank you so much Avenue Suites.
Room was noisy, little amenities, slow hot water shower for bathroom use, slow bathroom water drain
Dirty nasty hotel. Broken everything, bugs etc and they won’t let you check out early
Check in was disappointingly long despite having called the hotel an hour before arrival!
Value for money, great location! Other amenities come with a price tag!
Albeit having booked an expensive executive with 2 full double beds, they charged another 800 for my kid (8years),despite of advertising everywhere that they do not charge for kids with parents. Then when using the in-house pool (advertised also as free) they charge again for using it. When they tried to charge me 50 peso for a third towel for the already charged kid, I protested loudly and the room service attendant just gave it free. This is the worst money trap I experienced in over 40 years extensive hotel travel and spoiled the entire stay. On my rightful intervention of all those hidden charges they just have blank faces and a standard "sorry, but it's policy" at the reception, a manager was not available.
Overall, I had a great experience with the (AS); staff was incredibly helpful and a big shout out to Kyle for all your assistance. I appreciate you. Thank you!
I booked this hotel for 2 nights in order to go to Philippines Bureau of Immigration for a visa renewal. The B.I. offices are less than a 5 minute (easy) walk from the hotel, which along with numerous restaurants and several convenience stores, as well as close proximity to Ayala Mall make it nearly an ideal location. Unfortunately location is about all this property has going for it. On checking in I was told that my room had been booked through Expedia, though I had booked it through Hotels.com. The result was a downgraded room and not the Superior Deluxe room I had paid for. Any amenities (breakfast, pool use, etc.) would come at a surcharge (i.e., pool use = 2.50PHP/5.00USD per person, per day). The staff member checking me in either didn't know why this change in booking had occurred or wouldn't tell me. She was completely indifferent, other than specifically quoting me the add-on charges. The room itself was a bit "rough" and could definitely have used a facelift, or at least a coat of paint and a good scrubbing. The bathroom shower stall had glass doors but the bottom third of the panels were so coated in soap scum that they were opaque. Grime, soap scum and rust all around the base of the shower. The second day of our stay the single elevator failed, so it was 5 flights of stairs to get to the room. Management does not seem to be very involved in what is happening at this hotel. Very disappointing. Poor value for the amount charged. Will not rebook here
NEVER GOING BACK TO THIS PLACE! 1. Found DEAD cockroach in between the bed and bedside table! 2. Jumping SPIDER on the bed sheets! 3. They downgraded our room from deluxe w/ 2 queen beds to room with 1 king bed! 4. Told us we don't have breakfast included for our stay when we paid extra for the "free breakfast". Had to email them our booking itinerary to prove them as they "weren't seeing it on their system". 5. We had to pay for using the pool! We picked a room with a pool view, but I guess you pay extra for the view! Php200 per head if you want to swim. They come at you every time you're in the pool just to ask if you've paid to use the pool! 5. You guys downgraded us to a cheaper room with less bed, and you wanted to charge us extra for asking one pillow!!! Only thing good in that building was the spa. Not sure if it's affiliated with the hotel but the spa experience was great. The staff were kind and did a great job with our massage and pedicure sessions.
.
Wifi was weak during our stay; our check in was delayed by 20 minutes because they still have to verify our booking.
Staff were not helpful or attentive Wifi by the pool did not work
Called counter several times for room services. Restaurant food was great and services were prompt. No refrigerator available.
It's always nice to get away and stay here a couple days. The little guy loves the pool. The new gym is nice.
This place is Great. Very clean and had great amenities
The hotel was ok. Only problem was the parking.
It was clean, staff was nice, pool was extremely clean, water was balanced. Food was ok. The lounge was under construction while we were there, but overall was a great experience
Okay, under construction
Entire pool area smoking, not good for kids and family. In accordance with the RA, they are not in compliance. Had snacks leftover from the ferry ride over, tried to charge corkage lol! Management is non existent, Faith and Kim at front desk very unhelpful. Do not stay here -
convenient
The hotel does not acknowledge negative feedback. Only wanted to be praised. Room 209 - NO FRIDGE, NO HAIRDRYER, iron/ironing board - you pay 100 pesos per hour. They keep forgetting your daily complimentary water. If you ask for cold water, you pay corkage fees. There is no closet to hang your clothes, not a single drawer to put things safely. Room has a bookcase kinda shelves. I guess that is where you stash your clothes or just leave it in your suitcase. Very poor value for money. We stayed for 6 agonizing days here. Aircon is very noisy and may have contributed to my sickness because it flows directly onto your head and chest. The hallways has no air flowing at all and as soon as you get out of your room – you inhale the very hot air. Staff are quite pleasant but the hotel is poorly equipped. You might as well stay in your neighbor’s house and rent one of the rooms. There is a kettle in the room but the tap water is yellowish-brown (same as shower). How can you boil that? Most of all – only mirror is in the bathroom. When one is getting ready, you can’t use the mirror when another is having a shower. Nowhere to hang handtowels. No facetowels provided. How can a hotel not have clear water when even the poor people have clean and clear water supply in their homes?
bed, very soft...
Location is great, Staff are very helpful. I would stay again in this property.
I booked my friend a room for 2. But when they checked in, the couple was charged an additional 900 pesos. The booking clearly stated that the booking is for two persons. This is bad management, will no longer book and recommend this hotel to my family and friends.
Nice hotel with very good location, we had a small suite and it was perfect, wifi not so good from time to time, had to share internet from my cellphone. Breakfast is not good, very small portions and very poor service, had to remind waitress to bring me what I orded, save your money and eat breakfast outside, even Jollybee probably have better breakfast.
Extra charges on requested items like pillows, on a 3rd guest ..
Water is leaking from the ceiling when it was raining hard during our 1 night stay. Water was all over the floor, the bed sheet and mattress got wet and all they did was to put a small pail/bucket to catch the drip. They didn't even asked or they didn't even bother to transfer us to another room. Very inconvenient especially when you have kids with you.
Our stay was not a so amazing experience fro several reasons. The breakfast area was small and couldn't accommodate big family, the pool side was an alternative to dine but the ceiling or roofing was dilapidated and almost coming off. It was a big eye sore whenever you a picture taken in that area, then of course, the flies, plenty of bugs and flies. Next, the breakfast menu choices were limited and if you stay in the place for more than 1 week, you have already saturated the menu and most of the time, the food that we ordered were not available. Then, the most important thing, I booked the hotel together with my sister who has a baby. Of course, we inquire about a baby cot and to our big disappointment, as per management (which was just relayed to us several times by the front desk) that a baby crib or a cot is not being provided by the hotel. And that was the first time I have ever heard about a hotel who can not provide a guest's request. They wouldn't budge with their decision and I guess, guests' requests were not important. So, as a future guest, If you have an infant, DON'T BOOK THIS HOTEL because your request will just be ignored!!! And I was impressed at first of the hotel but then, forget about it. If I have a choice, I won't book in that hotel again.
It was supposed to be ok, rooms were clean except that the poolside ceiling was dirty and was coming off, breakfast choices were limited but price was as expected, most of the time when we asked something in the menu, it’s not available... the worst part was when the hotel couldn’t provide my sister a cot for my 8 month old niece and the only answer the we got was “I’m sorry Ma’am”, we don’t provide a baby cot”. We stayed in the hotel for 10 days and my sisters, for 14 days. 3 families!!! But for God’s sake, they couldn’t provide a simple request. The management was not willing to invest a few thousand of pesos to buy a cot for the perusal of the guests with infants. Well, it was obvious that it was not a family friendly hotel...
The ac did not work very well. Did not like that you had to take the key card out and all the power to the room. Made the room hot when returning. Bad for people with medical problems
Great and friendly staff. Fast services. Food is also great.
I like the very friendly n helpful staff from the front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, resto staff n guard. I like their breakfast place n food. It seems the hotel is being renovated so the place looks clean and new. The pool is big n nice too. It’s just sad that there were power interruptions during my stay that affected the whole province. As an improvement, the hotel should include toothbrushes in their toiletries set. I will consider going back to this hotel. It’s cozy and Has a very good location. Appreciated very much that they accommodated my request for an early check-in since I arrived in bacolod early morning. I was really thankful for that. Overall, good place to go back to and consider when in Bacolod.
The hotel is renovating so it was VERY dusty. You can hear construction noise during the day so it's difficult to sleep in. Otherwise the room was fine, location is central. Staff were helpful and nice.
Stayed there for overnight end up extending for 2 more nights! Convenient to walk in rested and cafes. Awesome pool! Downside is limited parking.
There is no hotel parking, lucking if you get a place to park. A?c took 2+ hours to cool the room. Even though we paid in advances, we had to leave a P2,000.00 refundable security deposit. Not sure why since there was nothing in the ref to eat or drink. Oh, and the internet did not work at all! Nice CR.....
