Assegaaibosch Country Lodge

It is exquisite, with a rich history going back to the mid-1800s. The estate is perfectly maintained, set in the most beautiful surroundings. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed a wonderful stay, and certainly hope to return again.

Out of town, but still close to a local restaurant for dinner. The rural setting provides fresh air and a beautiful scenery. A sumptuous breakfast. The management made special arrangements for me, which I truly appreciate.

Staff very helpful and friendly. Nice quite, serene and private location away form everything yet 45 to hour drive to main holiday destinations. Plenty of adventures activities to do around the area.

Cleanliness of towels and bathroom could be payed attention too, towels stinky even when changed for new ones. Breakfast included was not great and dinner buffet over charged for standard of food served.

That bookings.com messed up my reservation. It would have enjoyed the extra day at the lodge.

Some of the staff is not friendly

The dinner buffet was not nice. Poor choice and bad quality for vegetables and desserts. There was a lot of noise in the night and could not sleep.

The hosts Ashley and Dwayne were wonderful, and the staff was very friendly. The facilities were nice and a lot to for all ages on the grounds

The games room is near to some of the rooms, and it doesn’t have a cut-off time so some guests were making a noise until late at night.

The food was great and my son loved it so much too, remember him getting some more everytime we dine or have breakfast

Great location, if u want to chill or be active they have all the facilities for a fun weekend away. Go visit.. U will not be disappointed... Even with the kids joining!

It was as wonderful as we remembered it from our last trip 6 yrs ago. As it was SA winter, it was slightly cold. We were in a bigger group and made use of the community room to play dart, ping pong and pool which was made cozy by the staff with the internal heater. The staff are very friendly and supportive.

Great location on Route 62. Large cozy room. Basic but good for our one night. Overall the property is in a park-like beautiful setting with small golf course, great looking pool and cabanas. We were almost the only guests, so the large property seemed a bit empty. We could imagine groups of people having a great time in the cabanas and rooms by the pool, a fun game room with bar, billiards, ping-pong and darts board. We threw some darts, and hit a few balls with the only other guests there ... Dinner and breakfast were good, and perfect to still our hunger. The host was very kind and friendly and went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable and happy. Considering we were just passing through for the night, it was a perfect stay.

While the property is great for what is offers, it could use some updating and renovations. However, considering it is the only location we found in that area, it was perfect for us.

The food was great and they have great amenities for good family experience. One let down for me was that I was told a day before moving out that the price I was charged did not include the children but I had booked specifically for me and my 2 children. I was asked to pay extra which took total to almost double the amount I had booked forand I had not budgeted that amount so that was the only let down

Being billed correctly and not to be told when Iam there that i have to pay extra that ruined my holiday because I budgeted and paid before hand so that we have enough money to do fun activities

The lodge is beautiful and in a lovely rural location. Perfectly located for the activities around. We thought it was excellent value for money and wish we were able to stay longer.

The hotel is beautiful! Food was delicious! The staff were friendly and provided excellent service. It is a perfect hideaway for a few days rest!

The hotel is situated a few kilometres outside the town of Kareedouw. Unfortunately, Kareedouw is a poor and run down town. It has very little to commend it!

Excellent place… do yourself a favour and pay them a visit

We loved everything about our stay. It was the perfect stop after a 14hr drive. Tranquil but with plenty of things to keep us entertained. The host was wonderful.

Beautiful place

Nice location, receptionist and most of the restaurant staff were very friendly. A lot of activities to do and the whole overall clean and neat. We got a room upgrade that was great.

The resort manager (Frank) was not very friendly nor helpful. Any request a little bit out of the ordinary is not possible, and you get a straight out NO. The Lamb and Bean Stew at the restaurant the first night was a disaster. The was a previously frozen meal that was just heated. We were told a male person (barman?) and he apologized and said that they will not charge for that meal. The rest of the food we got was fine. We did see a big change the next night in service and food wise. 10/10 the next night. At check out when we received our bill with the restaurant charges and the even after we were assured it will not be charged it was still on the bill. When querying the charge, the resort manager just said they won't discount it and we need to pay for it and that's the end of it.

The room we got was so poor, it looks like a granny’s house.

They had a good breakfast I also liked the fact that it's on a secluded environment

The fact that their shower entrance was small, I had to squeeze myself through the shower door. They did not have an electric blanket, yet it is still a chilly especially on a place like Asseggaibosch like a farmland The mounted electrical heater had no impact at all.

Stunning views and a five-star lodge with beautiful scenery, including springboks jumping around. The conference center is excellent, and the friendly receptionist adds to the overall experience. A fantastic place!

Do think we need electric blankets since its so cold in that area.
