Wir haben am Tag des verehrenden Sturmes eingecheckt, trotz der erschwerten Bedingungen wurden wir bestens empfangen und betreut. Das Frühstück war perfekt. Vielen Dank an die Belegschaft, ihr habt alles super gemacht:-)
Alles OK kein verbesserungspotenzial. Macht weiter so. Mir hat nichts nicht gefallen es gibt nichts zu bemängeln.

Reviewed Aug 31, 2026Wunderschönes historisches Haus mitten in der Natur und trotzdem sehr zentrale Lage; ca. in 10 Min. vom Schaffhausen Hbf zu Fuß erreichbar. Die Bushaltestelle ist aber auch direkt vor der Haustür. Frühstück: offenes Buffet. Sie finden alles, was Sie zum Essen und Trinken brauchen! Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal! Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt auch! Gerne immer wieder❣️ VIELEN DANK❣️

Reviewed Aug 17, 2026Ich muß zugeben daß ich versehentlich der Meinung war ein Zimmer mit eigenem Bad gebucht zu haben. Die Einzel-/Doppelzimmer sind ganz oben unterm Dach. Trotz der Hitze ließ es sich darin gut aushalten. Das Zimmer war klein und spartanisch eingerichtet, aber trotzdem gemütlich. Da nicht sehr viele Gäste im Haus waren, war auch das Gemeinschaftsbad kein Problem. Alle Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich. Frühstück + Abendessen waren keine Offenbarung, aber ok. Für eine Nacht ok.

Sehr hellhörig, da Biden aus Holz. Bereits am Morgen um 7:00 Gästelärm inter dem Fenster, Fussball spielende Kinder, obwohl Frühstück erst um 8:00 und der Platz ums Hostel gross genug wäre.

Reviewed Aug 3, 2026Das Frühstück war übersichtlich, aber man kann satt werden. Die Fahrräder konnten trocken in einem Schuppen mit Steckdosen übernachten.
Unser Zimmer war echt klein, ganz oben unter dem Dach, ohne Fahrstuhl, ohne TV. Gemeinschaftsdusche und Geminschafts-WC sind halt Jugendherberge, muss man mögen. Und das eigene Be- und Abziehen der Bettwäsche macht vielleicht den spezillen Scharm diser Unterkunft aus.

Reviewed Jun 29, 2026This was the perfect place to stay to visit Schaffhausen and the Rhine Falls, both convenient and affordable. The building is absolutely gorgeous, and historically fascinating, tucked into a small woodland, about 15 mins walk up from Schaffhausen station (those with heavy luggage the excellent no. 7 bus goes straight to the door in a few mins - and on to the Rhine Falls). There's a good sized communal sitting area, large dining/breakfast room, and outdoor tables - as well as use of a tennis court, table tennis table, and fussball. The vibe is peaceful and relaxed, not a party place - with a full range of guests from solo travellers, students, groups of friends, families with children, and retirees. The staff member I met on arrival and departure (Tiana) was lovely - very approachable and happy to help with any questions. The bunk beds are basic, but comfortable - you are provided a bedding pack on arrival (sheet, pillowcase and duvet cover) with which you make your own bed. Towels are extra. The breakfast in the morning was very good - lots of options - and they provide an affordable dinner option too, although I didn't use it.
The bedroom facilities are very basic compared to some more up to date hostels in Europe. The bunk beds are lightweight wooden ones, with no privacy curtains, and tipped dangerously when climbing down. There is no air conditioning, so with the recent heatwave windows needed to be open, but that meant mosquitos (bring insect repellent, or be a bug buffet). The lockers are small, and require swiss francs to operate, rather than a padlock - I had no currency, and it was too small for my backpack anyway. Everyone left their bags by their beds. The mixed gender bathroom on the first floor was challenging - being used by several rooms, with only two shower stalls and two toilets. I found myself waiting for a while to shower, while also being mindful of the women using the space. In the morning it was full of insects from the night before. Breakfast finishes at 9am, and checkout is by 10am, which is earlier than most.

Man muss sich darüber im Klaren sein, dass man in einer Jugendherberge ist, dass die Zimmer eher spartanisch eingerichtet und vielleicht eher klein sind und man nicht vom großem Büfett speist. Aber für eine Jugendherberge war es wirklich sehr ordentlich und die Bäder und Toiletten sauber und man hatte alles, was man braucht. Die Fahrräder konnten sicher in einem Schuppen untergebracht und geladen werden.

I suggest you walk because the walking road is beautiful. Siyro is the best staff I’ve ever met. The other staff is also nice. I recommend this hostel to everyone

Reviewed May 10, 2026Wel stapel bedden maar dat wist ik van te voren. Geweldige locatie. Heerlijk in het groen. Vlak bij de waterval van schaffhausen. Als je na het diner naar de waterval gaat neem het station bij het kasteel. Daar zijn de poortjes open en kun je gratis dicht bij komen. Kwamen wij toevallig achter.
Hou wel rekening dat je vanaf het station de berg op moet (lopen). Je kunt ook de bus nemen. Of lopen hoe de bus rijd. Dat gaat gelijkmatiger omhoog.

Reviewed Apr 30, 2026Beautiful hostel in the most peaceful location. Having breakfast outside in the sun, surrounded by greenery and signing birds was dreamy. The staff were lovely and happy to help with anything I needed.
The only downside was the lack of sockets by the bed, so charging devices overnight wasn’t really possible.

Unfortunately, neither did the wifi (it was available in public areas but avoided those as the school party were in them). Showers were clean & water was hot. Breakfast was buffet style, which was good (bread / cheese were really nice). Staff were friendly & very helpful. Ended up with a 4 person room to myself, which was also great. Really easy to get to by bus, from the main train station. Would happily stay again & would certainly recommend.
Bed & pillow were a bit too hard for me but still slept well.

Die neuen Matratzen sind etwas hart.

אכסניה ישנה שעושים לה שיבוץ ביגומים מסביב והיה הרבה דבורים שנכנסו לחדר כשי ניסינו לאברר אותה החדרים והמיטות ממש לא כמו שראוים בתמונה מיטות של אכסניות ישנות
