This place was such an amazing surprise! We booked this last minute and not on our planned travel path. We absolutely loved everything about our stay. The staff was fabulous and helpful. The food was delicious, we loved both meals. The facilities with the pool and spa sealed the deal! We love this place and will be back with friends!
Amazing place. Family friendly, clean and beautiful place. Restaurant is nice too.
We loved this property!! The staff was awesome and the facility was beautiful.
I wish we booked this stay longer it was amazing. The breakfast was like none other for complimentary food! Our room was great and the beds were comfy. It’s a tad older building, but still amazing. The dinner was also great and the seafood chowder was to die for. The spa was luxurious and the pool is huge. There is so much to do just at the location alone. Outside is also beautiful and you can just take a nice leisurely stroll by the water. Nestled back on its own drive this lace was very secluded and had lots of parking.
Wonderful property, close to town and staff was amazing.
Charming, old-fashioned hotel, besides a scenic river with walking trails
The Falls hotel is absolutely beautiful, nestled in the vibrant town of Ennistymon . The hotel feels regal perched on top of a hill overlooking the falls and alongside a wonderful woodland trail . Out front live a herd of friendly donkeys , there to welcome you to the countryside. The hotel entrance has a beautiful chandelier an introduction to what lays before you. The rooms are spacious and clean and the bathrooms open and airy. A huge bonus was the pool and the hot tub a lovely way to start or end your day. On the note of starting your day, breakfast was fabulous & catered for those with dietary restrictions ( gluten free) the staff were friendly and helpful. It was my pleasure to have stayed in the falls hotel.
Fabulous!!!
Very nice for the cost.
It's an old fashioned hotel. If you feel physically limited be sure to tell them in advance; my room required stairs as the lift did not reach that level. The bathroom was fully modern. The breakfast was excellent, with kitchen orders as well as buffet. The staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The bar has live entertainment. The ground are spectacular, with a view of the river and falls.
Beautiful location and hotel. Friendly staff and the restaurant was amazing. However the pillows on the bed were flat and hard and made for by far the worst night sleep in Ireland.
The views are amazing and the amenities are great. Wonderful pool, spa and gym.
Great old world ambiance. Food menu and food generally needs looking at. Nice, tasty but relatively basic.
Great experience
Lack of signage to beeakfast retaurant, whi h is a tually one floor below reception, long flight of stairs awkward for my wife, lift is also along walk. View of building site from room, above the river sedn through trees, felt the new large building will spoil the view. All staff helpful, kind and deserve praise.
The hotel is not likely in the photo we see on the website. The rooms are very outdated, they are doing some renovation and they should put us in the another parte of the hotel. It was my 50th birthday and im very disappointed. Food was awful. I was sick all night. I got roast beef and it was dry and hard.
This hotel was not a four-star hotel, as advertised. The difficulties we encountered may be because the hotel is under renovation, but this is our experience with the "family room" that we booked. Pros: The bathroom had recently been renovated and had a new bathtub, sink, toilet, and tile. The view of the waterfall from the front steps is beautiful The hotel is about a 15 minute drive from The Cliffs of Moher The hotel is within walking distance of the small village with shops and pubs Cons: The new acrylic tub already had black stains The light fixtures in the bedroom hang too low; my husband hit his head on one when we walked in The beds need to be replaced. The larger bed had a visible hollow in the middle. The two smaller beds were also uncomfortable The bedspreads are vintage 1980s or earlier The room was on the bottom floor down a narrow hallway next to the pool. It smelled of wet feet. The lobby in our area of the building is under renovation. No workers were in sight, but paint cans and construction debris littered the area The door to our hallway was covered with dirt and fingerprints The view was of the parking lot The inside of the bedroom door had no doorknob; it had to be opened by the lock There was no hair dryer, hangers, or safe. When we saw the swaybacked bed, we did not even unpack our bags. Instead, we booked a reservation at a different hotel. We lost $173 that we had prepaid for that room, but we slept much better an hour away in Limerick.
“I really enjoyed stay! The pool and spa were excellent, and the walking trails nearby made the experience even better. Highly recommend!”
I found the front office and bar staff unfriendly. Smiling, saying please and thank you seemed too much of an effort for them. They looked like they hated their hobs. The restaurant staff were much better. The shower was only lukewarm.
Location was great. Spectacular view from the restaurant. Food tasty. Lovely walk by the falls.
Wonderful place. Staff was kind, corteous, and attentive.
Clean and comfortable. Beautiful environment. Good breakfast .
This place is wonderful. Food was amazing. Lots of room for sitting and relaxing
Beautiful setting and friendly efficient staff.
Beautiful place overlooking cascade water falls
Unique and charming property in a beautiful setting!
Really nice location, charming hotel. I particularly liked the temperature of the hotel, not too hot and not too cold. Bed was comfortable, spacious room and en suite. Good quality breakfast buffet each morning, and if you’re lucky, a view over the falls.
Great stagg
Fantastic property and reasonably priced. Room was large and very comfortable. We wish we could have stayed longer.
Decorated for the Holidays, Beautifully. Enjoyed the Pool Area amenities. Dining room was Wonderful, Bar and Entertainment was Inviting
Good value for a mid week break. Room was seemed newly decorated and was spacious and warm. Only a handful of guests which did not help the mabiance. The Bar is not open - closed for renovation - which was a pity. Bar food was served in the dining room/ restauant. Strange pricing in the “restaurant” area- fixed price if you order a dinner and priced per item if you order from the bar food menu which is the same menu as the "restautant" . Cheaper to order per item, but one of the staff insisted those eating from the bar menu would have to sit in a separate part of the dining room. Odd in room which seats about 120 and had about 5-10 diners in total. Dinner was adquate, but could not be decribed as fine dining. Breakfast was fine. Although a credit card was sought for extras, charges to the room are not permitted. There is a leisure centre of which we did not avail. Overall a comfortable room and stay, close to a quirky and attractive village. The main site are the cascades or "falls".
Fabulous hotel for families. Great base to explore from. Warm swimming pool. Friendly staff.
Great old property. Close to town and great parking..terrible wifi
Friendly place
I cant gush enough about this hotel. From the moment you pull up and see the beautiful falls the property draws you in. We went at Christmastime and the building was incredibly decorated inside and out. The main building and amenities have been nicely updated and even though the rooms are clearly older I think they are still very pretty and well appointed.
Fantastic location right in the centre of town, but tucked away from the main street with beautiful view across the cascades. Hot tub and pool area was very clean and well run, room was generously sized and breakfast was really great with a fantastic selection of fresh and tasty food. Great hotel, highly recommended.
A fabulous stay for a family get together. The selection for dinner was delicious. The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had. The staff were friendly and professional.
Unique historic hotel by the falls. Once owned by the McNamara landlord family of whom Dylan Thomas's wife Caitín was a member. Powered by its own hydroelectric plant, making it a truly eco friendly place. Irish breakfast buffet can't be beat. Ennistymon has many good pubs and restaurants among them Eugene's, Burke's, An Teach Bus and Marrinan's
We were given a room in what felt like the attic. Although spacious, the only window offered a view of the roof. There were many stairs to climb with all of our luggage, as the lift didn’t go all the way to the level we were on. Thankfully we are quite able, I can’t imagine being a senior and trying to navigate the narrow steps. I’m not sure how it’s determined who gets placed up there, but I feel that for the price we paid for the room we should have had a bit of a view and not had to carry our luggage up stairs. Other than that, the rooms were clean, beds were very comfortable and the buffet breakfast was good and plentiful.
Old and dated - the old is wonderful but definitely needs some work. The bugs on the first floor roof near the spa were a definite need-to-go. Rooms are big but definitely in need of some freshening up, although the bathrooms are very nice. Some staff were great, some not so much - a bit hit and miss. Grounds are lovely. I guess I was just hoping for more for the price. Knock a 50 euro off and that could be more like it.
A lovely, grand old hotel, that is showing her age just a wee little bit. My room wasn’t anything special, but it was very comfortable and clean, and the hotel’s location can’t be beat. After all, it’s only a couple hundred meters from the high street, and it’s right along the river near the falls and walking paths… and donkeys!
Older rooms . Bed not very comfortable. Beautiful grounds lovely people. Great location to the Cliffs.
Beautiful view of the falls from the terrace and bar
Noticed some mood on the bathroom ceiling.
Property is beautiful and very serene. Excellent restaurant/bar on property.
The property is very nice and the setting is beautiful, but the service is lacking, in both the reception desk and dining/restaurant.
Staff was extremely helpful, definitely would stay again
Beautiful grounds and views of the falls, nice walking trail. This place has so much potential but needs to be maintained better and updated. Staff is inflexible and not friendly. The heat in our room was turned on our last night for some reason and we had no control to turn it off. We asked the front desk, they said they would turn it off but never did. We roasted. The restaurant has beautiful views, the food at dinner is pretty good, at breakfast not so great, but again the staff just seems like they don’t want to be there - just do the bare minimum.
The view from the front of this hotel is breathtaking!
Really enjoyed it. Lovely pool and spa. Food was great Beautiful setting and stroll to the town Will be returning
Some pleasant people.
Beautiful grounds, great service and large rooms
This is a ver clean hotel with spacious rooms and gorgeous setting. I would add an outlet next to the bed that would take an adapter for US appliances.
Classic and historic Irish hotel. We enjoyed our stay. The rooms were comfortable with classical Irish decor with large bathtub. Our 13 yr old enjoyed the pool and we enjoyed the spa. View of donkeys and baby donkeys at nearby farm was fun. Dining was good.
Very disappointing. Hotel needs some renovation. Very poor value for money. We were given a room overlooking air conditioning units, and then the new room was 702 was hard to find, no lift, even the porter got lost. Very small and dark room. The staff at the bar were very nice and the gardens are beautiful!!!! Great location as well
Beautiful property, needs attention in the guest rooms
This is a beautiful property, inside and out.
Hotel was good, probably overpriced, too many steps and certainly too many rules!
Was very nice stay, great breakfast. Beautiful grounds
gorgeous walking path along the river, right next to the hotel. Great swimming pool and spa. Good restaurant and helpful staff.
Good hotel in a lovely setting. Staff were very nice. Hotel is scruffy in parts, including the bathrooms near the bar area. The tiling in our bathroom (which appears to have been done quite recently) was very poorly finished with patches of grout left on the floor tiles which gave the floor the appearance of being dirty all the time, very bizarre. The water bottle in our room was empty on arrival and the floor didn't look as if it had been vacuumed. We ate dinner in the bar. Average meal with the steak not being cooked as requested. Seabass was smothered in sauce, disguising the taste of the fish. Dessert was very nice and breakfast was excellent. Overall, although conveniently situated in a beautiful part of Clare, we felt the hotel was overpriced.
Property was cute but the room was dated without air conditioning and very cramped for a family of four.
We enjoyed our stay but ended up eating at the bar in the hotel (it was good!) as there didn't seem to be many options in town. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. They even left us a little note in our room as it was our honeymoon!
We had the most enjoyable stay in this . Fabulous staff beautiful hotel
I would recommend the hotel to anyone. Only two small issues. Wi Fi is tough in the evening and we had to ask to have the soaps refilled. But that’s minor. Great service, food location.
I would recommend the hotel to anyone. Only two small issues. Wi Fi is tough in the evening and we had to ask to have the soaps refilled. But that’s minor. Great service, food location. Keelan was particularly helpful and personable. Give him a raise!
Old and dirty hotel. Room was not ready upon arrival. Traveled with 2 other couples and their rooms were fine. We were on the bottom floor and the room was terrible.
Towels are really small, spa was full of foreign students so no space in hot tub, some of the staff were brilliant where others were in need of training. No conditioner in the room.
The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Our room was clean and functional and the beds were exceptionally comfortable! The bathroom facilities were excellent and spotless. One small issue was the position of our room which was very dark as there was a big tree outside which blocked any view and one of the beds was overlooked by patrons in the restaurant (we were told that net curtains were on order which would negate this small issue). If we were staying again, we would request a room further down the corridor. I found the room to be a little on the warm side and on saying this to the receptionist, a fan was delivered to the room immediately. The location of the hotel is excellent - right in the centre of Ennistymon and a short drive to Lisdoonvarna, the Cliffis of Moher, Lahinch Beach and Doolin.
Spectacular views away from the village but close enough to walk to it. Beautifully maintained front entrance. Hallways carpet works well with the theme of the hotel but have a moldy smell. Excellent breakfast with many elections. Quite impressive buffet. Shower in the room ho-hum. Stream a bit weak but a nice experience. Rooms spacious and elegant Nice pool but if you want to use the spa, book inadvance
Lovely quiet spot off the main highway. Nature can be found right outside the hotel. Close proximity to Cliffs of Moher
Great Breakfast.
Got to checkin early. Very good dinner @ the hotel restaurant. Will do the picturesque walk into town this morning. Nice hotel!
The hotel is situated right next to the falls. The property is beautiful and there is plenty of parking. The room was spacious and well appointed. We ate breakfast in the restaurant and had dinner at the bar. Both meals were very good and offered stunning views of the property and the falls.
Wonderful views, nice breakfast buffet and spa/ pool
The pool is good for swimming. Nice staff. Hotel a little tired.
We were a group with 3 double rooms. 2 double rooms were great with high pressure showers. My room of 616 (an unrequested 3 bed family room)had terrible shower pressure. I went to front desk and maintenance was sent. The hotel just acted like I had to live with low pressure and I did. I also had scaffolding outside my window. --John
Reception entrance difficult. Room not fully clean on arrival. Donkeys very sweet
Lovely hotel, everyone was so nice! We checked in right at the time was kitchen was closing and they let us order food to accommodate us. Breakfast was excellent
The hotel was ok. Clean, very convenient location only about 20 mins from the cliffs of moher. The “falls” are more of a man made ravine and better from a distance. Up close, the path is overgrown, nat infested and the water looks dirty. The town is VERY small, we asked for outside restaurants and were told there was 1. Hotel pub dinner was again, just ok and overpriced. We did not use the spa, so can’t comment on that. There is also major construction happening on the exterior, this started around 8:30 am with very loud jack hammering that shook the whole building.
Nice location close to Lahinch with ample parking. Dated facilities in need of updating. Ongoing construction but it did not cause noise or affect our stay other than aesthetics. Seems to cater to the tour bus market with a couple of large buses parked for their tours and crowds at morning breakfast. This hotel a lot of potential with pretty drive up and view of the falls. It just needs a good refresh.
Location was beautiful. Rooms and fittings are dated and are in need of refurbishment.
Location was beautiful. Rooms and fittings are dated and are in need of refurbishment.
The hotel has potential but they are very under staffed. The property is also very messy and dirty, needs a deep clean, everywhere. Quite a disappointing stay.
Staff were great, very quiet, great village, great food in restaurants in the village Tranquil location
The Falls Hotel is in a great location for visiting the Cliffs and the Burren and everything else in the area. The hotel has a lot of character. We requested a room change because we were first given a small, dark room looking at the car park on a low level. Second room was much nicer with a king bed and window looking at the river. The restaurant in the bar area was decent and breakfast was very good. Plenty of parking available.
I love this giant hotel in the heart of Ennistymon. I was able to park easily and walk easily all over the small town. There are amazing views from the 3rd and 4th floor dining halls at breakfast and dinner over this amazing 11-level waterfall that is a major highlight of the town, and a walking path from the hotel to it. I thought the staff was warm and welcoming. I did not have a chance to use the amenities while I was there, but I really enjoyed all the many breakfast options, especially the charcuterie meats, the giant pot of porridge, and fresh fruits every day!
amazing staff and what a experience for us great dinning and views
Lovely staff, great breakfast and a fantastic location overlooking the falls and east access to the cliffs of moher and the burren. Really enjoyed our 3 night stay
All good great food, great service, a wonderful place
Excellent stay in a beautiful hotel. Staff were so friendly and helpful
We had a lovely 2 night stay. Super staff and delightful surroundings. 2 lovely early mornings in the superb pool/spa.
The hotel is sprawling and beautiful! We were treated very well and the staff always seemed to be cleaning all around the hotel. Our room was spacious and we had a lovely view! We even met some local residents, donkeys!, which was fun. The breakfast in the morning was a large variety of food prepared beautifully.
There was a wedding reception that was taking place on 21.09. I called reception at 12am to see if there was a noise ordinance and the gentleman said no but the reception would end at 2am..so much for a good night sleep with music and a dj blasting! Also at 7am a delivery truck unloaded directly underneath our room #800. We were really looking forward to staying at the hotel for our anniversary and it was a nightmare with less than 3 hours of sleep!!!! Very disappointed.
Old world ambiance, great service
Great base for west coast travel
The Falls Hotel is a quaint spot in Ennistimon. The walk around the property is beautiful. Very close to Doolin, if you want to go to Cliffs of Moher, it is an excellent spot if you have a car. The indoor pool was so nice. Bring a swim cap if you want to use it though. Very warm and hardly anyone there. Nice jacuzzi indoors and outdoors as well. Breakfast was nice, buffet style with many options. Staff were friendly. Room was nice, not too modern but sufficient. All in all a pleasurable stay. Try Clyde's restaurant in town just a few minutes walk from the hotel.
Very beautiful setting with great views of the falls. Rooms are nice size but lack ventilation except for 1 small window opening which made the room stuff and too warm. Convenient to walk to town and a short drive to the Cliffs of Moher visitor center. Grounds are well maintained. Very well equipped fitness center and nice 20 meter pool.
Lovely Hotel in a lovely setting. Very Clean and comfortable, Staff very helpful. Would highly recommend it
Hotel was clearly quite old, but the location was beautiful. We picked it because it was close to the Cliffs of Moher and it delivered.
