Stratford Motel & Holiday Park

Always a great stay, great hospitality and nice facilities.

Host is most welcoming. Kitchen/dining area was clean and bright with adequate cutlery. Ample hot plates, both gas or electric. microwaves and kettles. Laundry and drying machines are excellent coin operated, great for when you require tramping gear cleaned and dry for your next day great tramp. Tui song from surrounding bush, very pleasant. Fantastic 10 min (slow stroll) to town centre, swimming pool/gym and supermarkets along the Pàtèa river bush trail.

Room floor covering odour was quite unpleasant...(I understand this is a camp style facility with tramping high on the list of guest activities, But the room that I was given could do with the floor covering replaced) Door closing by other guest was very disruptive due to the antiquated locking mechanism's (not a problem if you (being of an age to) have an understanding of how these old locks function.Unfortunately for me this night of my stay my neighbouring guests' were younger international tourist whom slammed their entrance door closed several times throughout the night, inadvertently awakening me. Not exactly a plus) Also noise from slamming vehicle doors and loud conversation by what seemed like a long term staying work crew loading their van to head out of camp in the early dawn completely shortened my rest, making my stay questionable! Toilet cubicles are 'a bit' on the tiny size!. I am not a large person (1.8 tall, 80kgs) But I found it quite difficult to manoeuvre comfortably.

Staff are amazing

Was good to have a base. Primarily we were there for a funeral and because of the distance we travelled we arrived late and went early. The shower was lovely it was very cold when we came down so a warm room and a hot shower were awesome.

It was clean but old. Could maybe be update a little.

Couldn't stay longer and couldn't get the gas stove to work, but not a complaint Beds are firm No snow to go see on the Mountain

Friendly host, lovely place

Thoughtful host—She rang us to check our duvet and sheets situation before we arrived. We were so grateful for the duvets provided, as we were traveling with nothing! The shared kitchen was very sufficient for us, as it had everything we needed. Great stay and we will definitely visit again!

The units could have had a built-in wall heater or oil heater, as it took a while for the room to warm up. The matresses were a bit softer.

The staff was very friendly, small bathroom but very good value for our money, beds were comfortable. I regretted not bringing my togs as they have a spa!

The bathroom looked old, but was functional

Close to shops, just as described. Easy check in and check out. Easy to navigate. Clean and no complaints. Could park right outside accommodation.

Property was really nice and clean and perfect for us to have a night in a room on our road trip. The owner was LOVELY. She made us feel so at home and couldn’t do enough for Us . She gave get recommendations and was just brilliant. I recommend highly.

Hi to the owner our team would like to request if you can review your cctv on Saturday night in the kitchen area as we are all very disappointed of the very rude woman. We don’t know her and we presume that she’s a staff because she acts like it with a very rude to ask. As we are all 10 in the group and we are about to have dinner so 2 of us heat up our food withe the 2 gas range but there’s 2 more available. And she as rudely when we finish 30mins, 1 hr? It’s okay to ask but it’s should be in nice manner? She also came to our lesbian colleague and as why she entered in female restroom. Asking is not bad but should be in proper way! Thank you.

There’s no blanket. We slept in a cold room with just 1 small heater.

Everything about our stay was fantastic 😃 the staff were friendly always there if and when needed. we stayed 2nights in one of the self contained 2 bedroom tourist flats, right at the back of the holiday park nice and quiet had our own car park right outside our flat . it was self equipped had everything we needed and the aircons had just been put in so was very nice and cozy for me and my whanau. also the shower that pressure was beautiful and it was so hot it was great. would definitely stay there again 😃

The only downfall to our stay were the beds in both rooms were very uncomfortable.

Clean and comfortable

I booked 2 rooms one for me and hubby and the other for our kids. But there was someone staying in the room between us and our kids which I didnt understand nor like. So we didn't utilise the other room.

Stayed here 3 nights and was blown away by everything. Staff were amazing, very clean and comfortable, everything you need. Thank you highly recommend

Cleaning product smell was a bit overwhelming, but probably because I’m overly sensitive to smells. The room was clean and comfortable for the price.

The owner is very kind and friendly. The facilities are convenient and well maintained, with clean showers and toilets and plenty of hot water. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and dining. The place is quiet, comfortable, and relaxing. Many beautiful sights can be reached within less than an hour’s drive, and there’s a pleasant pub restaurant within walking distance of the motel.

The site doesn’t offer many activities, and the town doesn’t seem to have much to attract visitors.

Convenient to climb Taranaki Good value , friendly and relaxed. Staff were very nice.

The beds I know were bunks on the ad but the mattresses were really uncomfortable for us adults. Kids were fine though.

Nice quiet location, central to town. Situated next to some nice trees and a park.

Appeared to have some long-term tenants who kept a lot of random things around outside, and our bathroom faced directly into their living space - eye contact was unavoidable and uncomfortable.

The complex was well kept and the staff and long term tenants were very welcoming and helpful

I found the bunk beds uncomfortable especially where the boards were but that was due to my size otherwise I really could not find fault

Very warm welcome at reception. Heaters in room. All amenities. The park is quiet and in a nice setting Nice swimming pool although didn't use it. The site kitchen is very big and clean.

No wardrobe, no where to put our clothes apart from the spare bed.
