There was a bottle of exit mould in the bathroom, the owner (not the managers, they are awesome) needs to let the managers fix the lock on room 4, and also to fix the problem of the amount of water that ends up on the bathroom floor after a shower. The modern saloon type shower door doesn’t really work to keep the water in the shower and you have to use all the towels to mop up the floor so you don’t slip. This is actually not safe, so please Owner, fix these issues.

The face cloths still had the marks from previous use on them. We laid them out so they could look at them and give us clean ones. But the room wasn't serviced over the three nights we stayed there, apart from some deodorizer sprayed into it. We also have asked for separate duvets instead of the usual top and bottom sheets, but they didn't do that so we had some rather cold nights under those sheets.

The furniture was dated and needed replacement. The whole room looked tired. Cheap and tacky window dressings. Lots of wear and tear in the Meltecca coffee table and dining furniture. No decent cutting knives and limited cook ware. There were lots of native cockroaches in the unit. The manager bought traps and insect spray .

Reviewed Aug 9, 2026Very comfy bed. Extra blankets as it was so cold and the heater didn't work very well. Plenty of tea, coffee sachets etc, and bathroom supplies.
Heater was not efficient and didn't heat the room sufficiently. The remote didn't work and so I couldn't get the TV to work. Patchwork done in bathroom and the paintwork was not done well. Damage to walls in bathroom not repaired. Sun nets (curtains) hanging down, not properly secured. I think the price was too much for the condition of the motel interior.

Reviewed Jul 15, 2026Hobson's choice a British idiom as I learned. Indeed. This is the only reasonable motel in this price range. And it is perfect. Fully renovated rooms, fully equipped kitchen, heat pump +extra heaters, comfy beds with heaters,, TV with subscription (not just the display and bring your own paid channels). I had no issue to mention here....
Missing insulation between the entrance door and the floor, but this is the only gap to close...

Reviewed Jul 13, 2026My mate and I were expecting a 2 room motel room,this was more like a small house. Great for a family ,easily sleep 5,full kitchen,large fridge a patio and pool. Beds were comfy,electric blankets,wardrobe,oh,and must not forget the coffee plunger,although they probably need to replace it. Good hot shower.Helful staff,convenient location.
Not a lot to criticise TBH, as above the coffee plunger is a bit tired but better than none, water pressure in handbasin in bathroom is poor,but manageable

Reviewed Jul 12, 2026Older style motel on the fringes of Dargaville which has been maintained well so is a good option if overnighting or staying longer. Rooms are clean and comfortable and plenty of hot water. The nearest supermarket is Woolworths which is about a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk away. Parking is directly outside the unit. Would stay again.

Nothing to report and the town was about a 10 minute walk away. We did inform the host that one of the power sockets wasn’t working in the kitchen and the hot water tap in the bathroom was just a trickle. Apart from that, everything else was fine.
