Provider-sourced guest reviews.
The staff were all friendly and helpful and breakfast was excellent.
Sadly they closed the restaurant three weeks ago. Understandably due to lack of people using the facility. Unfortunately the options for eating nearby are limited (the next door indian restaurant is closed on Tuesday). You have to go to Maldon High Street to get an evening meal.
Location was good, the food and service was excellent. It was a most enjoyable stay.
Nothing notable.
Room excellent Food excellent Staff excellent.

The staff, always lovely
The bathroom was too small and the room was very small.
Breakfast was good although we were charged extra for juice! Room well equipped but tiny. Shame no biscuits in the room. Our waitress Chaire was lovely.
We weren't told the hotel wasn't serving food, only breakfast until we were checking in. Otherwise we wouldn't have booked. Indian next door, but awful food. Pub across the road but didn't serve food either. Area a bit run down.
The hotel has a lovely atmosphere with some period features. The style was spot on not too old fashioned or too modern.
The only slight thing is that it faces out onto a fairly busy road so in the summer if you wanted the window open you would hear traffic however they did have vortex fans to help with this.
Location convenient for purpose of stay.
The room was too small and cramped and had extractor fans close to the window and overlooked by a noisy factory. Disappointed that the restaurant wasn’t open on our first night. That said, we did enjoy a lovely meal on our second night when it did open but surprised that the restaurant will be closing for guests in the future.
On site parking
Thought rooms were small and carpets and decorating ready to be upgraded. Plumbing noisy-woken up once guests were using shower, no soundproofing. Breakfast rooms were very pretty, food - small portions and not great. Front of house very helpful. Passed our complaints to the manager who did not bother to speak to us. Wouldn’t stay here again.
Good parking, very friendly, extremely clean room and helpful as I didn’t know the area
Good food, good location and clean rooms
There's no Ac in the room and windows won't open either. Not good for a summer stay.

Frühstück war ein Traum
The room was lovey as were a majority of your staff. The room was clean and spacious. Shower was a delight. Breakfast was more than we expected. We thought it was just continental.. Bonus.
The restaurant was closed which we did know before we came but still disappointing. No decaf satchels of coffee in room. Due to the hot weather we had our window open which then let in a lot of noise.
Beautiful hotel staff were lovely could not do enough for you , highly recommended .
The room was clean and suitable for our one night stay. All staff were lovely and accommodating. We appreciated the free parking. There is a nice restaurant downstairs which had great food. They kindly accommodated us on a busy night without a booking. Our room was up two flights of stairs, something to be mindful off if travelling with a large suitcase. We just decanted what we needed into our hand luggage.
The room was very hot, however noting it was peak summer and UK properties are not particularly built for heat. We did have a small window and fan but it did very little to cool the room.
Boutique and attentive service
The most outstanding feature of our stay was the exceptional staff we encountered from check in through to our dinner and breakfast the following morning. I've stayed in some high quality places around the world on business and leisure trips and I can honestly say I can't recall anywhere that exceeded the welcome and the engagement with the people working here. The evening meal we thoroughly enjoyed and breakfast was also of high quality, noting the sausages and bacon particularly which is often where hotels cut too many corners!
On the night we stayed it was very hot and despite the best efforts of the Dyson fan, we found the room rather stuffy. I doubt there's anything the hotel could do about that and on any other night I imagine this would not be an issue, so read this comment in the context of the exceptional weather event.
Friendly, helpful reception staff and good parking. Comfortable bed.
Tired room, cracks, needs repainting, got woken up from 7am with extremely loud doors banging constantly and staff shouting directly outside our room. Cleaning staff tried to enter our room an hour before checkout waking us up. Not worth £120 a night. Such a shame.
Fabulous hotel in a great location with the nicest staff …couldn’t have been nicer
Everything was great
The air con was a added bonus and the bath was fantastic. The water in reception was nice touch. The breakfast was delicious superb property Thank you

The staff , especially the lady on reception, couldn’t have been more friendly and attentive during our stay . The hotel itself was exceptionally clean and comfortable and the air conditioned room was a welcome bonus in current hot weather. We didn’t use the hotel bar or bistro during over night stay but it looked very civilised and inviting.
Stunning & immaculately clean. Staff were amazing! Was an incredibly hot weekend and got back to the hotel in the small hours, there was iced water at the bottom of the stairs to take and extra tea and coffee I’d needed. Didn’t eat there but I should imagine it was first class.
My only gripe was the pillows were very soft and had no support for my head and neck
We booked a junior suite which turned out to be a very good choice as it had air con. It was also on the back of the building so was quiet. Very nice dining and breakfast area and a nice bar.
No fridge in the room and if we’d had a different room the lack of air con. Apparently it’s a listed building so they can only have it in the back 3 rooms.

Clean tidy well appointed,great restaurant
Room very small
Very friendly and comfortable hotel. Excellent, freshly cooked breakfast.
Decor was very plastic. Could have skipped some of the plastic flowers and had a few plants in the lobby/restaurant that need water. Some local photographs/paintings on the wall would be better than the current display which is unrelated to Maldon.

De lokatie (maar daar kan niemand veel aan doen)
Breakfast poor
Breakfast poor due to the Butcher not delivering that morning
Charming little hotel with a clean, comfy room, friendly staff and delicious breakfast.
No staff reception when I arrived. I knew this ahead of time and it is understandable as it was a weekday off-season, but a bit confusing picking up my keys as they were under the wrong name and nobody around to help.
Breakfast was very good & there was a good choice to choose from
Rooms slightly need a bit of updating! You had to move the kettle to the other side of the room to boil. Should have had a choice of coffee, no decaf only normal coffee Also think when there’s 2 people sharing a room, there should be more toiletries in the room.
Really lovely decor and facilities in the room were excellent including coffee, tea and water. Loved the breakfast menu! Fabulous choice!
Nothing!
The staff are wonderful. The cleaners are very good. They all welcome you with a smile.
The cleanliness of the hotel, the staff and the food.
Staff very helpful very friendly and welcoming
Great decor, wonderful friendly team. Especially breakfast waitress/receptionist. Lovely breakfast.
Everything was great. Shame we didn’t have time to dine in gorgeous restaurant. Will need to return!
Lovely hotel. Clean and comfortable. Nice food. Friendly staff

lovely hotel
The Stairs were very difficult (shallow needing sideways walking). The loft room 11, was like and oven as in the roof, with no air, other than a tiny high window to breathe through !! Location meant a car to access all faciliies
Emma was fantastic, extremely accommodating , great hospitality and the food was amazing .
Very comfortable room Emma was fantastic as a host Quiet location Excellent but limited breakfast Ease of parking
Nobody there upon arrival so check-in over phone which worked ok but was a little strange
Beautiful hotel. Staff are exceptional and very Attentive to your requirements. Recommend highly.
Could have a little more parking spaces
Food outstanding
Nothing
Lovely hotel, friendly staff and the food is amazing.
Drinks are very expensive. Cooked breakfast isn’t served every day - only Wednesday to Sunday - with Continental style on Monday and Tuesday.
Nice property, restaurant and staff
A little noisy in room
Amazing staff

The staff were exceptional. Good amazing. Lovely hotel and facilities
Nothing No issues at all
There was nothing i can I could fault.
I have no complaints whatsoever.
Great location for my meeting, literally round the corner. Lovely Classic Room, bar and restaurant was beautifully laid out and the staff were very friendly, Peter and James particularly so! The meal was stunning, my starter was seared scallops with chorizo jam and fried chorizo and my main was spring lamb, sautéed potatoes with a pea and mint jus, cooked to my taste and it was delicious! 😋😋 Had a lovely stay and even popped back to have a coffee with a colleague, as our meeting was delayed and the staff were very accommodating and friendly… the cleaners stopped hoovering, so they didn’t disturb us and said they’d polish instead! Great place and will definitely stay again!
The only downside was that in the morning, when someone elsewhere in the building was showering, the pipes in my bathroom (room 3) were very noisy, thankfully I always have earplugs so it wasn’t such a big deal but I’d certainly have been disturbed had I not had them in.
Lovely rooms and lovely staff.
Bathroom window did not open, left the room a little stuffy.
The staff were exceptional! First class service.
Property was a lovely little boutique hotel the staff were so welcoming and lovely and couldn’t do enough for you it was a very lovely 1 night stay
Nothing
Excellent
Room a little small
Very clean and the staff very friendly. Coffee and tea making facilities included, nice touch.
I bed was very uncomfortable, was too late (after 11pm) and felt could not change rooms so late as to waking other residents. Bathroom could do with being more modern.
We very much enjoyed our brief stay here. Our room was cosy and comfortable and the hotel is in a very peaceful location. The breakfast room was delightful, with natural light flooding in, and the staff were super friendly! We even got given some extra pastries to sustain us on our homeward journey :)
Small functional double room. .Breakfast good .
Returned as had had a pleasant stay some time ago. Self check in particularly disliked. Was first to arrive and was apparent from several other room keys left out that occupancy was low. Nothing so unwelcoming as a very silent empty hotel. No mention on booking that no bar or restaurant on Monday and Tuesday
Wonderful service, great food offering for both evening meal and breakfast, a really well stocked bar and lovely environment. In fact, brilliant service
The only reason I've scored 9 and not 10 was that My room had a rather old and creaky bed, and single glazing roadside window that made it a little noisy.
Excellent service especially from Emma, lovely breakfast.
Room 6 is far too small though
Very helpful obliging staff. Room was comfortable and well equipped. The breakfast choice was good and it was well cooked. We also enjoyed our dinner very much.
The stairs were very steep. It was OK for me but some elderly visitors might find it a problem.
I was staying in Maldon for work and Le Bouchon was excellent comfortable, food excellent along with the service..

A really lovely hotel, beautiful interior, so relaxing, staff absolutely lovely will do anything for you, the beds were very comfortable, pillows amazing, vast choice of breakfast and all cooked fresh was really excellent, and right in the heart of maldon but tucked away an absolute gem. Emma and all the staff soo nice.

Cute little place, lovely greeting at reception by Henry who managed to swop us to a room with a bath (we only have a shower at home, so thank you!!) Warm and cosy. Lovely little pub almost opposite. Great find!

This is a little Gem .. so stylish and cosy warm and welcoming
Expensive but it was good especially the staff !
Can’t complain about anything specific
The location was perfect as I work for Rolls-Royce and is across the road.
The WiFi Password was very weak so did not use it.
The service was excellent throughout the stay. Room was clean and well stocked. We were a big group, we all had good time.
Nothing not to dislike.
The staff were amazing. They went above and beyond to make my stay very comfortable
Nothing
the hotel had such a lovely feel about it - nothing was too much trouble for the staff
i think it was just an unlucky night to eat at the restaurant - it seem overly busy which caused a big delay in us recieving our food - we waited nearly 50 minutes for starters, an hour for mains - my lobster was overcooked (with parpadelle) and was very chewy. we ordered drinks and then had to chase the barman
We stayed here about a month ago and I had to come back to it to leave a review!!! The staff were absolutely amazing!! The room was absolutely beautiful and such good value for money. In a really good location and staff will book taxis for you. The breakfast was to die for, absolutely stunning. Will definitely be back.
Well maintained, good location, great staff
All staff were very friendly and went out of their way.
Nothing
All the staff were genuinely very friendly and welcoming, food was fabulous too. Stylish hotel, lots of thought put into decor and ambience. Well done.
The only weakness was the bedroom size, meaning the double bed was pushed into the corner, so only accessible from one side.
Room was comfortable, clean and quiet.
No restaurant open for evening meal, breakfast was good but very limited.
Great hotel the staff where amazing they really welcomed us
