Very clean, good breakfast, comfortable, nice shower.

Stayed for a wedding in Newburyport. The location was great for that. Breakfast was a regular free breakfast buffet and had plenty of options and places to sit to eat.

Checked in and was late to get to the rehearsal dinner. After dropping our bags and changing quickly we went to leave and realized our hotel door lock was broken and we had to leave and leave the room unlocked. informed the front desk on our way out and they said they would look into it. Got a text a couple of hours later saying it couldn't be fixed. Had to repack up and move rooms after 10pm when we got back. Also, not a fan of the barn door for the bathroom. Provides absolutely NO privacy. Also, this hotel was WAY overpriced for what they offered, but had to stay because it was the hotel chosen for the wedding. Would NOT pay more than $400 a night for this hotel.

We arrived late on the night we checked in and were met by Sally who was training a new employee. To start off she could not find our reservation, said we didn't have a room. Then she found it but it was for the next day. This was about 2 minutes to midnight. We had driven about 18 hours non-stop. She argued with us about our reservation, which was booked via Trivago. I had all the paperwork that our trip was paid for already. She said she could book us as a walk in and charged us $207.00 for the night. She was extremely rude, telling me to calm down, which I was not yelling or swearing, I was tired and confused. We finally got a room, a handicapped room that she put in the notes that we requested....NOT. It was okay except the water ran all over the floor since there was not a lip on the shower floor and when I went to take a shower the handle fell off in my hand. (it was fixed) The other thing Sally told us was that the 3rd parties credit card was declined and we had to pay $1300.00 dollars for a room I only paid $650.00 for. She held us at the desk for a good 45 minutes trying to get us in the computer and so on. In the morning the Manager was there and she did clear up the billing issue but we told her how Sally was extremely rude to us. She stated that Sally hardly checks people in and she wasn't familiar with the system, that she was the night auditor. So I asked why is she even allowed to be in customer service if this is known about her. Then upon check out we received a charge of $185.32. Sally was at the desk and saw us checking out. At breakfast that morning Sally was talking to the man setting it up and she was complaining about ANOTHER check in saying how awful another person was and how she put them in their place. So we get home and see this charge, call the hotel, they say it was the third party, called third party and they said it was indeed the hotel charge. So we figure Sally put in a bogus charge just to piss us off. The charge was reversed the same day but is still pending. We were very disappointed in our stay this time. We didn't need cleaning and the breakfast was great. Rooms: 4 Service: 1 Location: 5  Layers

Location close to Amesbury and Newburyport. Dinning room very comfortable with very helpful staff. Bathroom had ample layout space for toiletries etc. The hotel was kept very clean.

Bedroom should have openable window to air the room. The independent ac unit could not do that. Lighting was quite sparse. A movable uplight would have solved this issue. Two comfortable armchairs would be better than one small lay on couch, this would then leave room for a small table.

Great breakfast. The man doing the cleaning of the area did an excellent job.

DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!!!!!! The manager kicked my elderly in-laws out when they were trying to check into the room they were booked for my wedding. The manager threatened to call the police on them for simply trying to get into there room that was booked by there daughter when she wasn't present. That caused the manager to cancel there room reservation and told them to leave. They were stranded and unable to fully enjoy our wedding. The manager completely ruined our wedding weekend and when we expressed to her that they were here from PA for there sons wedding, she didnt care. She needs to be fired immediately. Absolutely DO NOT stay here, sleep in your car first.

Room size is good. Breakfast was so good 👍 Staff is generally nice especially the breakfast supervisor. He was amazing and helpful. Laundry and parking 👍

They didn’t give us connected rooms though we stayed for 4 nights. We rented 2 rooms. They put us in the floor of pet-friendly!!! We couldn’t sleep for 4 nights. Dogs were barking all nights like if they are left alone in the adjacent room. We tried to solve it with reception, but unfortunately, they did not fix it. They just gave us a temp room for few hours in the last night before we leave!!! The cleaning of the room was way below average. They could do much better. They should assign non-pet owners to different floor, and make sure to move them if it is a long stay (more than one night)

We are Hilton loyalty members and were happy to see the Hampton Inn so close to our residence to book a stay for our son's visit with his two children. They were delighted with their lovely room. It looked like it had been updated recently. The 'tweens were happy with the pool. They had stayed at the Doubletree in Danvers that has a huge pool (as part of a fitness center), but despite the smaller size, they had a great time there for most of the week. The family also enjoyed the free breakfasts. One of the best things about the Hampton Inn in Amesbury is its location! It is easy to find, right off rt 95. Amesbury offers many, many options for dinner from pizza to Mexican to Italian to American bistro! Amesbury also has lots of shops like a great toy store, candy shop, jewelry store, and other places to enjoy walking around if the weather allows. There is also a strip mall within walking distance that has a grocery store and other shops to explore. We will definitely use this hotel again in the future!

Continental breakfast really was lacking food. All 3 days had literally cereal or waffles without syrup. Everything else was always empty or near empty.

Great hotel!All nicely newly renovated. Unfortunately I stayed during storm and a pipe broke by back door but the staff made sure everyone was safe in the lobby and drove whoever needed a ride across the street to another hitel.They went above and beyond their duties especially during the bad January snowstorm!

Room was spacious, not cramped; clean and appointed as advertised, with everything in good working condition. With the exception of the elevators, the lobby, the breakfast area, the hallways, the stairways and the rooms were all exceptionally clean. Elevators were clean but they looked like they were maybe being updated -- so there was painters tape and cardboard on the walls, clearly a temporary situation. Room was quiet, warm and was a nice respite for a quick visit to the area.

Breakfast had a wide selection, which was appreciated. Shower heads great—nice water pressure. Pleasant staff. Coffee, tea, and hot cocoa in the lobby appreciated.

The tables in the dining area were high for the chairs. I wished there had been a cozy sitting room with dim lighting, and perhaps a fireplace, but I realize that would be a high expectation. Would love to see plain Greek yogurt (unsweetened) at breakfast.

Beds are too high; bathrooms have low toilets (not what is called “comfort” height that many need), no grab bars in bathroom; shower lacked a Bench: lacking a bench, they also did not have sufficient quantity of shower chairs to meet the needs of customers utilizing their “ accessible rooms; need hand held shower also

Only caveat- AC was noisy and it took a long time to cool the room. It was an unusually warm night so it kept us awake till we reduced the temperature and kept the AC ON instead of auto. Everything else was hust fine.

Shower door was broken.We were told not use it when we spoke to front desk but nothing was done. Floors need vacuuming. All carpets need replacing. Duvet was dirty. Three days without ketchup for breakfast and food and coffee kind of cold. Also out of orange juice two days. I don’t recommend this place.

All the staff were extremely helpful, polite, caring, and exceptional. The full breakfast was great each day and the manager was so nice and helpful and supportive. It was an excellent place to stay for 3 days as we visited with family we had not seen in years. Great place to stay and have an excellent breakfast each morning. Their recommendations for food and ice cream were great.

Decent hotel in a good location. Breakfast was decent and they even had gluten-free bread. The staff at breakfast work very hard. The bathroom was dated (the toilet was badly cracked) and could use an upgrade. Also, one of the electric points on the table lamp was not working and I found dust on all the fixtures. Housekeeping can be improved.

Overall, it was an okay stay. There are not many other choices nearby. Pros: - Location. The hotel was conveniently located for our trip - Parking - Free, and you could always find a spot - Air Conditioning - worked very well - Price - I would say it was fair Cons: - The Bathroom door was a sliding door with gaps around, i.e., not much privacy. - For some reason, the floors in the bathroom always felt sticky. I don't think the housekeeping vacuumed all the corners of the room. - Breakfast was so-so. Compared to other Hampton Inns, it was average.
