Provider-sourced guest reviews.
Although on the main road the terrace rooms were quiet. Real milk in the fridge and a good range of teas
Outside light from the main building was bright until late and the green light above the door meant the room never got dark. The fridge was noisy
Very nice self contained studio with kitchen. Bed comfortable and quiet. A very happy stay.
Floors could have done with a bit more attention in Church View.
We have visited before and re-booked this visit as it was on the way home. That says it all really. The facilities are excellent and the staff are all really friendly and helpful.
Nothing
Friendly staff and nice restaurant.
Stayed in the converted coachhouse. No doubt it complies with fire regulations but having a big, bright fire-exit sign illuminated 24/7 in the room, it was hard to sleep without an eye-mask.
Super friendly, efficient staff. Room bigger than usual and very well equipped. Breakfast was superb with the most fantastic fresh ingredients
Every thing was great, can’t think it could be improved
I had a great stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and although the room was small, it had everything I could have hoped for—safe, fridge, a generous selection of teas and coffee, fresh milk, water, cookies, a dressing gown, and even a heater/fan. The bed was very comfortable too. Breakfast was fantastic, with a full English, fresh fruit, croissants and more. I’d happily stay here again when visiting the area.
The extractor in the bathroom wasn’t functioning, and the fire escape door wasn’t securing properly due to the latch hitting the striking plate. Both issues should be addressed for safety and comfort. Although these need to be addressed, they did not impact on my stay.
Beautiful room and setting. Breakfast was delicious, will stay again!
The Frocester is an authentic old inn in a beautiful part of the country. Our room was basic and clean with a comfortable bed. The food in the restaurant very good as was breakfast.
Comfortable well furnished rooms .lovely location
The room was clean, the bathroom shower was great and the room seemed soundproofed as it was very quiet. The breakfast was good.
It was more like a pub with accommodation than a hotel. The room (in a row of small holiday chalet type boxes) had no accessible opening window and the air conditioning was too noisy to sleep with. Had to leave the door ajar for air which didn't feel safe. The sheets were very rough and scratchy which was unexpected for a 4* hotel. The WiFi was very intermittent and thus the smart TV didn't work well.
Food was great, large portions. Room was clean with a terrace for smoking which was nice. Area was nice and staff were helpful and friendly.
i don't like being in bars on my own so having to order food (room service) even for a short time was uncomfortable for me. It would have been good if i could have ordered by phone.
Staff friendly, easy check in
Struggled to park as car park quite full on arrival. Had to wait for someone to leave first
Lovely breakfast nice to have a fridge in the room with real milk and bottled water
The room was next to a fire door which wasn't shut so felt unsafe. People were talking loudly under the window not sure if it was staff.
Gorgeous clean rooms and an amazing breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful when we were trying to book taxis. Would definitely recommend this lovely hotel/pub.
Location
Smell in courtyard
The best staff! Fabulous food and the home made bread is delicious.

Sehr nettes Pub, riesiges Zimmer im 2. Stock, sehr komfortabel, ausgezeichnetes Frühstück
Quiet location in middle of rural villages and beautiful scenery. Room was a studio apartment between the hotel and church. Church is lovely inside, Norman times, beautifully kept! Breakfast (hot selection, was good) included with our deal so it was a good package. The studio offered a bit more space than a room alone. Bathroom modern and clean. Kitchenette, well equipped so completely self- contained. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great gin selection!
Bed a tad soft but OK for 1 night. Floors could be cleaner but it's situated outdoors with not much buffer to absorb dust.
We were in air condition room off beer garden for over night stay ,(called 2 weeks later on return trip,) room was clean and had everything needed including a large walk in shower, few paces to enclosed beer garden staff friendly, large restaurant area, for evening meal and breakfast, food excellent, large English breakfasts, perfect
Nothing all good
Friendly staff and overall good value for the money.
Had to wait 25min for eggs on toast, really needed a quick breakfast for work but ended up having to gobble it down. Would be a good option to have had a takeaway sandwich but I didn’t ask as thought I had time.
My single room was lovely. Super comfy bed, and my room was plenty big enough. My evening meal was outstanding, as was the Malbec.
I would have liked a cup of tea in the morning. There was tea and coffee, milk and a kettle, but I couldn't fill the kettle as it wouldn't fit under the bathroom tap. Sunday breakfast starts at 08:00. I needed a quick breakfast in order to drive to my required destination. Juice and coffee were all set out, but taking orders was slow, meaning I had to forgo my breakfast.
We were greeted quickly and all questions answered quickly , nothing seemed too much trouble
Everything about our stay was very pleasant
Squeaky bed
The food was excellent.
Bed was comfortable
Can’t be helped but being so close to the beer garden all I could smell was smoke coming through the windows
Staff were all friendly. Very pleasant place to stay. Food was excellent.
Convenient for our event. Large rooms. Plenty of parking space. Pleasant staff. Generous breakfast.
Poor ventilation. Dated rooms - some more than others. Noisy next to kitchen extractor fan. Salty breakfast. Coffee not great.
Staff very helpful when I had a mobile phone problem. Kind and attentive. My accommodation was in a separate building to the rear of the beer garden with a private entrance, and was comfortable, quiet and well-equipped. Full English Breakfast ticked all the boxes (although toast was a bit dry). Dinner menu was good and prices reasonable.
Access as a pedestrian (ie if you’re walking from the Cotswold Way) is difficult as it’s inevitably along a busy country road with no footpath. Recommend using OS maps to plot a way across country using signed footpaths.

Location great for me. Easy check in, comfortable room, bathroom well appointed. A little bit dated but value for money
Breakfast just a bit underwhelming. Staff shortage made it slow, all a little bit dry.
Excellent location with lovely rooms & excellent food

Absolutely EVERYTHING !!! The rooms were spotless and well equipped. The staff were attentive, polite and friendly. The food was wonderful. Fantastic evening meal and fabulous breakfast.
Could have done to stay longer but schedule didn’t allow unfortunately.
Eating in the courtyard in the evening was wonderful , and we had the loveliest waitress [ wish I could remember her name ] , she was so friendly and helpful Breakfast excellent . We stay once a year at the Frocester and always really enjoy it , and this year was no exception . The only slightly odd thing we were given a handicapped room in one of the bungalow rooms , with no window ! We did not mind , only there one night .....but next year we will request a different room when we book !!
Windowless handicapped room
Excellent fresh and cooked choices delivered in a superb dining room

Food absolutely amazing. Way too much to eat. We always had a lovely breakfast lots of choice and then we didn't eat till at least 3pm in the afternoon!!!!!!
Nothing!
Characterful traditional pub. Wonderful breakfast and evening meal.
Unfortunately we had a room on the main road. It was very hot so window wide open. Traffic noise started early in the morning.
Location, friendly and helpful staff, fresh milk in the room and very accommodating when we asked for an extra night.
We would have liked a towel hook in the shower room.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were spotless and had good facilities and food was excellent
Stayed at hotel for a wedding, nice room for the night. Lovely breakfast.
Extractor fan didn’t work, loud fridge.
The room was comfortable and clean. Nice shower room. The wifi worked well and there was plenty of parking. Good breakfast. The breakfast staff were particularly good. The cleaners were friendly and even offered to help us with our luggage.
I booked this because the Booking.com website said all rooms had air conditioning - they didn’t and ours was one that didn’t. Luckily the recent heatwaves had subsided and our room wasn’t too hot but the description is misleading so if you book expecting air conditioning check with the property that your room has it.
Breakfast and dinner was delicious, compliments to the Chef's. Staff very friendly and helpful. Shower room very nice.
Kettle and tea/coffee cups etc were enclosed in a tight cupboard space which was at an awkward height and awkward for me to use.
The food is very good indeed. Most things made on the premises from locally sourced ingredients. Home made bread to accompany a very tasty cooked breakfast. Evening meals equally good. My wife loved the strawberry pavlova. Good bar decent real ales.
Nothing. This is an old coaching inn so very traditional. Our bedroom was quite small. Comfy bed but room subject to traffic noise. Hot weather, needed window open which didn't help.
Excellent evening meal and breakfast with locally sourced products. Very comfortable and well appointed room.
All good.
We had a lovely stay, staff were friendly and helpful, room was very nice, an outside one, 12. Food was excellent.

Staff at the Frocester are so friendly and accommodating. My second visit and will return again when I can.

Beautiful room & bathroom
Check in was good. Martha was excellent on customer care and arranging a booking for table for dinner and pre-order, understanding my issues with partner's illness and difficulty waiting for food. bed was very comfortable and room roomy. the staff were very helpful in relation to some glitches in bathroom and all worked well.
if you're not so nimble the stairs to second floor rooms 8, 9, 10 are a little steep without rails for the final steep step through the fire door.
I enjoyed the rural historical character vibe of the residence- it’s definitely not your modern or typical luxury hotel. Staff was friendly and very accommodating.
Room was smaller and older as it’s an old historic building.
Friendly professional staff!
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Outstanding as always! Brilliant location, fantastic rooms and amazing service, and the food is out of this world!

Delicious food and very friendly staff. Excellent value for money
Excellent accommodation, very spacious and high ceilings added to the overall enjoyment of staying here. I was only there for one night but I would definitely return. I stayed in Room 16 which was just off the beer garden and felt like a self contained unit minus the kitchen. Very spacious which helped the feeling of calm. Exceptionally clean and a bonus was the fantastic air conditioning which was great because I was staying when the temperature was tipping the 30° mark outside. The facilities allowed for disabled access and usage and the wet room was excellent. With all the amenities You could want and even a private outside sitting area, table and 2 chairs. A fridge is provided with some milk and spring water already inside... The staff were very friendly and polite and the Inn was set in a village with lovely surroundings and the village was well maintained, a true delight. With plenty of nice walks to be had in and around the area and various wildlife as well from Horses to Deer and even Buzzards in the sky, this certainly added positively to my stay. I had a nice evening meal when I returned from my walk and after a very comfortable night's sleep, the breakfast the following morning was outstanding. I would certainly like to return again and maybe stay a while longer next time, as this occasion was for just one night.
This is not really a dislike, just a small point to note is that The Frocester Inn is located on quite a busy 5 way junction and although there is a 30mph speed limit, any drivers just be prepared, as you will need to pay that bit more attention when negotiating it.
Staff friendliness. Peace and quiet. Excellent food, both evening and breakfast. Proper milk and water supplied in bedroom fridge.
Difficult to find anything.
The accommodation was lovely. We were in Church View and literally overlooked the beautiful church. The room was spotless and had everything we could need. We had a private courtyard with a table and 2 chairs which was a real bonus. We really loved our stay. The restaurant was lovely and we want to give a shout out to our waitress Martha who is so funny and very friendly. We felt very welcome. The breakfast was amazing. The best full English we have had for a very long time. We will be back.
Everything was really good. The bar and pub was lovely as well and had a good atmosphere.
Absolutely gorgeous place to stay. Our room was beautiful and bed was really comfortable (room 12). The bathroom and shower were beautiful and clean. The staff were amazing and so helpful - and the food was out of this world. This is a gem of a place all round and we thoroughly recommend a stay here. We will return without a doubt!! Thank you so much for everything.
Nothing... all perfect
Lovely well appointed rooms with modern bathrooms - please note not all have air conditioning although we were given a fan. Great location for RHS Badminton show. Lovely evening meal.
Breakfast on Saturday didn’t start till 8 and we had to leave earlier but continental was left in our rooms for us. Some rooms (1) were close to the road through the village so couldn’t leave the window open due to noise.
Excellent Food

Breakfast was great.
Bed wasn’t very comfy and very creaky.
Great staff, very welcoming and friendly. Our double room was very comfortable and the Aircon was very welcome in the heatwave. We had dinner there and the food was outstanding.
Nothing really.
Great facilities, great food, staff very helpful. The bedroom had air conditioning which is very necessary at present. Also good value.

The breakfast was excellent, with superb service
Large room, comfortable bed.
Very noisy party into the early hours.
- breakfast is amazing with so many choices: full English (including veg option), toasts with egg, salmon, porridge, coffee, tea, croissants, cereals, fruits... - room was confortable - bedroom is recently refurbished - free parking - location is great to visit the Costwolds
Nothing, great B&B
Great staff and great food.
Fans and bottle of fresh milk in fridge in room. Rooms clean and comfortable. Breakfast excellent

Perfect stay close to where I needed to be for work
The Frocester has a lovely atmosphere, the bar is used by many locals, and the ability to take your drinks into the garden was particularly lovely in the recent hot weather. I ate in the restaurant, the specials menu was interesting and the food was excellent. The room was clean, comfortable and all the facilities worked properly.
Nothing would stay here again
Good value for the money. Fabulous breakfast.

Room was a bit small but suited for one Excellent decor bed and wonderful shower. Bonus tea and coffee with fresh milk.
It was very hot when we arrived late in the evening and the room had been cooled with air-conditioning. Room 12 was very comfortable. Breakfast was good and the staff had remembered that we wanted vegan options. Very convenient for Slimbridge nature reserve.
The road was a little busy but our room as well sat back and therefore quiet
Breakfast was excellent, lovely big room, staff very friendly
Fan was so inefficient as completely clogged with dust & rain shower head not very strong flow. Room was on road so very noisy
Great location, friendly and helpful staff. Lovely food and drinks

Great stop off on the way to Cornwall... Perfect, just off M5, good bar, great staff, good grub, excellent brek. Would stay again Thanks
Very friendly, professional staff. Comfortable bed. Nice breakfast. Home massage bread was great.
A bit noisy due to road noise. Shower was quite small corner shower. Extractor in the bathroom didn't work.

Lovely fantastic friendly welcoming staff!
Very welcoming, Martha was very nice and showed us to our beautiful room very impressed with the room. The evening meal was delicious, would definitely recommend this place and would return. We had a huge bathroom with a shower his and her sinks, a huge separate bath. Also tea/coffee facilities with a mini fridge containing bottle of milk and water, wardrobe contained 2 x robes and plenty of hangers.
Our room (15) was modern, clean and light and pleasant with high ceilings. The bathroom was modern and clean. We were impressed to have Air con, modern 3 plug and USB sockets, a big tv, outside private patio. Really lovely, would highly recommend these rooms. Thank you!

The food in the restaurant was excellent and was good value for the prices. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The kitchen and bathroom were both well fitted out.
The sofa in the lounge was not very comfortable.
Food was amazing, staff lovely, rooms nice and comfortable 😊
Very clean, and modern bathroom & kitchen.Good location
The spiral stairs, especially if you need the loo( downstairs) during the night. No long mirror to check yourself out with!
This was a stopover for us on our way from the south to the north of England. It is in a great position to explore the Cotswolds. We were in a block of rooms away from the main pub building. Very clean, comfortable and great value. Dinner and breakfast (included) at the pub restaurant were excellent! Lovely staff.
Very small bathroom sink.
Fantastic stay. The staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean, a hidden fridge was a welcome suprise. Very modern stylish bathroom, too. Breakfast was 10/10, one of the best we have had while away. We will definately return.

Food was excellent.
Work needed on the frontage of the hotel.
We booked two rooms at the Frocester for an overnight stop on the long journey down to Cornwall and were delighted with our short stay. Perfectly located within a short distance of the M5, we were accommodated in large, comfortable and very well-equipped rooms, and immediately made to feel welcome by the team despite arriving earlier than we expected. The bar area was a great place to unwind after the drive down and the dining was excellent - we had dinner and breakfast while we stayed and we all commented on the choice, quality and service offered. We would highly recommend a visit, either to stay, or simply to enjoy the dining experience!
There wasn't a thing that we didn't like. It's worth noting that the rooms are split over various levels and the climb to the top floor room could be challenging for those with mobility issues, so it's worth liaising with the team ahead of your visit to secure a suitable room
The room was fairly small but had everything we needed - the bed was very comfy and there was a good ensuite. The staff were all really friendly, very welcoming and most helpful. We had dinner in the restaurant, there was a good choice and it was very good quality food and reasonably priced. The breakfast included in the room rate was excellent. This is a listed building on an old coaching route and there are lots of original features - the windows are a bit draughty but there were terrific old wood panel sliding shutters to make up for it!
The parking was was a bit tight because the pub bar was quite full but we did manage to get a space.
Nice room with comfortable bed and good facilities. No view from my room due to position of the small windows but I had everything I needed and it was spotlessly clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was excellent at breakfast and dinner. Car parking was available on site.

Everything. Fantastic hotel, restautant and bar. Staff were extremely courteous and friendly.
Nothing
Downstairs was excellent with a well fitted Kitchen.
The bed was very soft and the blinds very poor so didn't black out the room. There was limited head room in the loft and it was very precarious going up and down the stairs.
Nice clean modern room Excellent dinner and breakfast Friendly staff
Evening meal was superb. The asparagus with poached egg, bacon and sourdough toast worthy of 5*. Breakfast was excellent- full English left a very full Welshman !!!
Catch on the bedroom door (room 14) was a bit tempremental.
