My husband simply asked for salt and pepper because we saved our breakfast in our room and the reply from staff was they were not able to provide because they are in the restaurant

I opted for the shared toilet/shower facilities and found both the room and shared ablutions to be very well maintained. Previous stay with en suite room wasn’t so good.

We paid 91 pounds for one night and did not worth that value. Reception staff was very friendly. Breakfast staff were rude, working like they were doing us a favor.

Evening meal was average but reasonably priced.

The breakfasts were very good and if we didn't want a cooked breakfast they would do sandwiches or baguettes to take away which we found to be very handy. The room was cleaned and made up daily by the exceptionally good house keepers.

We could tell a lot of the staff was not happy in their job, hardly a happy face. On one occasion when we went in for breakfast the waitress called out to us in a raised voice, three times from the other side of the restaurant for us to go to table one, which was directly in front of the workstation from where they get the plates and cutlery from, so we couldn't hear each other talking very well. The waitress must have thought we knew where table one was but as we had no idea, that's why she kept repeating herself making us feel like idiots in front of the other guests. The following day that same waitress kept us waiting for a table while she was laying out some tables for lunchtime, this was annoying as she had seen us standing there. That happened most days as it appears getting tables ready for the evening meal is more important than sitting guests down for breakfast.

Our room was over the front of the hotel and when you have either staff or guests talking quite loudly at 3am in the morning outside in that area that was the down side

When the band stopped playing so my child could get some sleep. room was booked as one adult one child and they put us above a band playing late into the evening.. As a hotel room it was horrible..my 12 year old son was staying over 5night as he had a Kent sports tournament.

We managed to book a room at super late notice, as they'd had a last minute cancellation. The room exceeded expectations with a separate bedroom with 3 singles for the kids and a room with double for us. The beds were comfortable, everything was very clean and all the staff were so friendly/accommodating. Breakfast each morning was fantastic.

Our room was the wrong booking i.e We booked a family room for two adults and 1 child we were allocated a double room witch did not have any where for the child on our booking to stay I had to make other arrangements for some where for my son to Stay. When I raised this with reception at the hotel I was advised I need to contact booking.com. booking.com advised the hotel of only one guest on the booking. I feel the hotel were very dismissive of my complaint and offered no resolution to my issues raised. some how my booking has been messed up and both hotel and booking.com have done nothing to resolve this or offer any solution to the customer. this has lead to my poor review of the king Charles hotel.

The bed was comfortable and slept well. Loved the fish tanks and secret garden. Outside areas were generally good. Fan in bedroom a bonus as was hot..

Rude staff at breakfast. Blonde waitress taking the orders clearly had a problem with some patrons. Lack of choice for cooked breakfast and when arrived was unfortunately tasteless. Unable to choose own seats at breakfast so felt we were being herded and definitely not valued. Dirty aroma smell throughout hotel..sticky carpet in room.. hotel clearly accommodating homeless persons who seemed to be prioritised. These were the only people to get a warm welcome at breakfast. Staff sitting outside one of the doors to carpark in close proximity and were smoking and vaping.. The road to hotel car park was non existent.. Bathroom shower door hardly able to close. Wasn't that clean with visible dirty toilet brush.. flooring in bathroom had paint on it and big gap under bathroom door. Very small TV in room.

Reception keeps your luggage for free for a few hours after checking out, which means I didn't have to carry my rucksack when doing the two-hour tour of the tunnels in Fort Amherst. Good breakfast included in the price of the room. Unlike in some other hotels I stayed in, no cushions (not washed between guests) placed in contact with pillows. Plus windows in room and bathroom were open when I checked in. Hotel not far from the Historic Dockyard and Fort Amherst in Chatham, and to the train station in Gillingham.

Very nice hotel that was extremly good value. The building is old, and starting to look a little tired, but the place is clean, the staff are extremely helpful and the food is good value. You can't complain, especially given the price. I would not have any problem staying there again.

The carpark is an eye-sore. If there was anything I would improve is the entrance. It really lets the place down.

La moquette. Purtroppo c è la moquette ovunque in alcuni corridoi sporca. Se la togliesse sarebbe una grande cosa.

The Breakfast was very good; The household staff were excellent and cleaned our room every morning; We had an evening meal on three evenings and enjoyed the experience.

The decor is very outdated, but that doesn't really affect the stay The toilet roll dispenser was not very efficient, its individual sheets of paper that can be difficult to get out That's literally the only thing, otherwise really great place to stay

I liked the staff, they were lovely. The food was impeccable and service was great.

The big let down for me was that my room was miles away lol and there were no outlets near the bed so when charging overnight it couldn't be next to me for my alarm to wake me up or my son could play while his device charged

The location was good and close to Medway Park leisure centre where my nephew had a basketball competition. It is easy to get to and has its own parking which is a bonus. The facilities were good although the food was okay but could be improved.

As stated the food was not the best this might be because of the time we ordered the evening meal. The problem was the bread and naan bread included appeared to not have been cooked and the meal I had, had little taste.

La chambre familiale était très bien équipé pour 5 personnes. Le petit déjeuner compris est un vrai plus, il est très complet.

Il y a trop de moquette, et elle comporte de nombreuses taches. Elle est peut-être lavée régulièrement mais ça ne fait pas propre. Ce qui est le plus dérangeant c’est de voir les femmes de ménage déposer les draps propres sur la moquette devant la chambre d’hôtel avant de les installer sur le lit propre. Je ne trouve pas ça très hygiénique. Les gens et les chiens marchent sur cette moquette.

The hotel was run down, the grounds give a negative view if that was cleared it would help attract more clients. The beds were ok but the plastic sheets for clients like ourselves as a younger family were uncomfortable, noisy and in this heat make the beds hotter. The hotel is fine but just needs new furniture as its a little tired, a lick of paint and modernising as location is good.

Very pleasant experience, excellent value for money, and very helpful staff. Very good breakfast, which allows you to choose in-between 3 or 4 different options (!)

My partner and I and our little dog Pearl had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel. Extremely good value at a sensible price. The staff are very friendly, polite, and helpfu, Steph and Natalie on reception. Housekeeping ladies were so lovely and helpful too, rooms are big and so are the bathrooms, great shower too. The hotel is smart clean and has a lovely kind of tropical feel to its layout. Love all the fish tanks and Koy Carp outside in one courtyard very nice and tranquil. Also another courtyard with a pond and water feature, very refreshing change in a hotel. A lift which is a huge bonus, onsite free parking, pet friendly. Resstaurant and bar, vending machines, and three or more function rooms. Breakfast was very nice, with having our dog with us we had a table in the bar area. The only not very nice thing was the two courtyards and by the hotel entrance say no smoking. However every table has an ashtray on it so for non smokers is is very unfair. It should be a certain part or area making it fair for all. The smell was too much at times spoiling it for us.

The size of the room, and it's cleanliness. All staff encountered were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Anna, a lady in housekeeping was exceptionally friendly, such a beautiful genuine Lady. Female staff in the restaurant were very good, and professional. It was a quiet room, which is what we needed, also liked having the tea and coffee making facilities. The shower was great! The food at breakfast was adequate, but the eggs were brilliant, particulary the poached and scrambled! The beds in the room were very comfortable, I have fibromyalgia so this is important to me.

The hotel itself needs a serious update. The lobby was very dull and drab apart from the fish tanks which I enjoyed very much. There was a young man in the restaurant who seemed to be on his 1st day, unfortunately he had no social or serving skills at all, he didn't even speak when he arrived at the table with the food, we had paid for family guests to join us, so they weren't impressed!

Wir sind schon das fünfte mal in diesem Hotel gewesen. und wir finden es immer wieder super schön. Das Personal ist super freundlich. Hunde sind willkommen. Ich mag das Ambiente in diesem Hotel sehr. Wir kommen nächstes Jahr auf jeden Fall wieder.

The hotel is inexpensive and strategically located, with parking and breakfast included. It was clean and functional. Beds and shower were fine. Our kids enjoyed the various aquaria. There was one staff member who really did his best for the guests but there is only so much you can do....

The rooms were seriously old and scruffy. The wallpaper was peeling and there were holes in the curtains. However, biggest disappointment was the breakfast. "breakfast included" was the main reason we booked this place.The hotel chooses the la carte approach, supposedly for "freshly made". I'm pretty sure it is just to save costs and prevent food waste. Which I wouldn't even mind, but we waited well for over an hour to get our breakfast - not great if you are under time pressure for the Dover ferry - and when we finally got it, the quality was poor, it was just oven prebaked stuff and a kid sized yoghurt container. My advice: there a much better strategically located low budget hotels around. Book one of those and get a tastier breakfast from Tesco or the nearest Wetherspoon.

The room is a good size, the beds are comfortable and the shower cabin is spacious. Breakfast was tasty.

The entrance is quite discreet and when we arrived in the dark the yellow metal barriers were confusing, they create the impression that you can’t drive in, so we ended up doing a big loop around. I’m not sure about the air circulation in the hotel: as soon as you step inside, there’s no fresh air, not in the corridors, not in the lift and not even in the breakfast area. It felt very muggy and heavy, which made it difficult to sleep. I understand the hot weather this summer, but there definitely seems to be an issue with ventilation. At breakfast there weren’t enough staff to look after the tables, coffee, or to keep yogurts and fruit topped up while we were there. They clearly seemed short staffed, perhaps when the full team is present, things run more smoothly.
