It was wonderfully comfortable and beautifully remote. The owners were lovely and very helpful.
The road to get there was a challenge in a car with a low carriage. The old kettle died but it was on our last morning there

Great location, fantastic hosts and so very welcoming. Great stay thank you
Peaceful little place in the middle of nature
The host Sally was very hospitable and nice. We had some good chats. We really enjoyed the secluded area, the views, and our experience as a whole.
Amazing place! Our hosts were lovely and helpful, providing advice on where to go and the best times to visit. We were also treated to a nightime glow worm tour which was great.
Amazing location, lovely hosts, comfortable chalet
Would have preferred the neighbouring chalet occupants didn’t cross the chalet entrance coming and going, or park directly outside.
Sally & Giff
Very friendly hosts, super helpful and enthusiastic about showing some of the natural features of the area (such as wildlife and interesting walks). The accommodation is very cosy and comfortable with a quirky two-storey style which I found charming. It's quite a remote place, but very peaceful and with interesting history and nature around the area. Also the rugged landscapes of west coast NZ for windswept scenery.
The narrow gravel roads can be hard on your car (unless it's 4WD which mine wasn't) and scary for feint of heart drivers. There are no shops or other such facilities in the area, they are more than an hours drive away, so you need to bring all your food and fuel etc. with you. But that's the flipside to secluded isolation that appeals to some (it could be seen as an attraction for getting away from it all)
The house had a wonderful atmosphere and was very comfortable. Sally and Giff were great hosts. We loved the after dusk visit to their gloworm grotto. The dark night sky was amazing. They have an amazing garden and keep bees. It is a truly magical place and fells like another world.
Nothing
This is a must if visiting the Area. Cabin and hosts were delightful and provide a wonderful wetland tour and Glow worm/ crayfish grotto experience.
We loved this place!! Peaceful and beautiful. Sally met us at the property and was very welcoming and friendly; she told us information, things to do, etc. She had a lovely vege garden full of produce and gave us beans and tomatoes and more tomatoes to bring back home. Don't miss out on the glow-warm tour in the evening, too. The location is very far from shops and gas stations, so be prepared and enjoy away from busy daily life.
The accommodation was in a beautiful secluded location. With barely any signal, perfect for a digital detox. There is everything you could possible need. Great bedrooms and bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped. The hosts even brought us to a beautiful glowworm open area at night. It was magical.
It was far out of the way that you couldn’t hear any traffic, beautiful surroundings and just what we needed to be comfortable and relax
Absolutely nothing!! It was amazing and so were the lovely couple who looked after us
We love the coziness and comfort. Our highlight was the wonderful night time trip to see native creatures in their very private habitat. Absolute delicious honey.
Very hard to win over the insects
Checking in was a breeze. Sally made sure we had our keys and instructions the moment we arrived.

Everything was fine
A beautiful chalet in a beautiful setting, with all the comforts of home. Well worth the drive.
The location was great. The hosts were both welcoming and nice. The highlight of our stay was during the night when we were taken out to see the glow worms, weta and freshwater crayfish. It was interesting and exciting. The accommodation was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable and water pressure was good. Heating works well. We explored one of the walking trails within the property which was easy to navigate. We will definitely come back next time.
Nothing.
The location of the stay and the room was amazing
对我们来说是一个很好很难忘的地方,与众不同。特别是房东夫妇带我们在湿地徒步,夜晚观察荧光虫,独特的体验。房东特别友好,还给我们提供了一些食品。
Sally and the lovely challet
2 storey , quiet and peace for our resting day Laundry and drying service , offer to activities and night walk to glowworm cave
WiFi only outdoors ...
The isolation was wonderful. Very limited cell reception and wifi which you can live without. Giff gave a tour of the flow worms and was very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna. Sally kindly dropped off some homegrown grapes which were delicious.
The chalets were very comfortable and in a most amazing part of New Zealand. The hosts were simply superb and even took us for a night trip to see some local glow worms! Exploring down the coast to Anatori River and the local wetlands is very worthwhile. Night sky is like nothing you've ever seen. Excellent privacy. Access to the property requires driving on a narrow at times gravel road for some time, which is fine if you are used to it and careful. Caution is advised wrt to oncoming traffic.
Nothing.
Lovely informative hosts. Griff collected us at 9pm and took us to a local spot in the bush to see glow-worms and fresh water koura (crayfish). Sally explained all of the local walks and had maps for us to follow. The chalets were cosy and lovely and clean. We loved the remoteness and quiet.
26k of dirt road to access was hard on the bones . A long drive but worth the peace and quiet
chalet very nice peaceful
The host no privacy, no wifi in chalets. To host put us off by coming over everyday leaving our unit unlocked after service
We've loved the hospitality of our hosts. The little private cave tour was breath taking and made the stay unforgettable. We absolutely recommend Wetland View Park.
We had a lovely BBQ breakfast. The location was absolutely stunning, the scenery and drive in was beautiful...this is truely a magical part of NZ.
Everything was amazing...the location is paradise. We stayed in both of the chalets and my son got married on the Anatori beach... Sally was so lovely and helpful with everything and went above and beyond to make our visit special.
The chalet is just amazing and the best is that there are only two of them! Did a two hour walk on the beach and did not meet anyone! Also great view onto Westhaven Inlet from Knuckle Hill.
Great location away from all distractions. Very warm welcome by Sally and review of things to do. Particularly enjoyed the glow worm night tour by Giff and explanation of the very clear night sky.
Stairs to loft took a while to get use to then not a problem.
Beautiful off grid experience, with lovely nearby walks and discoveries. Coffee at the local cafe is outstanding, and the glow worm tour was magic. We loved the tracks around the swamp and wetland areas. Wonderful peaceful getaway with warm and cosy accommodation.
Perfect location, very friendly hosts
Nothing not to like
This was an amazing location. The hosts exceptionally helpful and generous. So unusual as a chalet, very remote cleverly placed. Must take food with you as so far away. Local cafe wonderful Wildlife exceptional
Wifi issues I understand not everyone wants but there must be a better solution to keep everyone happy. Radio reception a bit iffy. I would encourage better maps and explanations of local walks
Great location
They were very friendly. The glow worm tour with Giff was amazing. Thank you so much!
This is my 2-nd time at Wetland View Park. Absolutely magical place.. The owner took us to the forest by night and showed spectacular place full of wild life and gorgeous glow warms.
It's good to be prepared for mosquitos. Plenty. Good repellent and keeping the door closed solving the problem.
excellent host and accommodation
sandfly
We loved the quiet seclusion - it felt like we stepped into a beautiful paradise. Everyone who wants to unwind and relax should visit Wetland View Park - we never stayed anywhere quite like this lovely accommodation before.
Nothing.... slight trouble with internet connection but that just helped us to relax and listen to all the bird songs around the place.
The hosts were very helpful and informative about local walks and wildlife. They even had a lovely surprise for us! The drive there (over gravel roads) was spectacular.
Amazing accommodation off the grid in lush green surroundings with a lovely host and interesting landscapes to explore. Privately guided glow worm bush walk once it was dark.
the Scenery was Gorgeous
Very nice, peaceful place to stay. Surrounded by native forest full of birds.
We haven't met our neighbors but the house is very close. If there was a little bit more space between this place would be exceptional.
Fantastic place to escape from the rat race, relax and reconnect with the things in life that really matter. The hosts where as good as it gets; we were even taken for a night excursion to see glow worms, kuras, cave wetas, native fish and slugs!!! The nearby wetlands park contains ample of info about the areas past and is well worth a visit.
A dream comes true - perfect spot to relax, hike and explore the nature. Sally and Giff are the perfect hosts, talk to them about their honey, the glowworms and the swamp, they have a lot of very interesting things to tell.
A journey into the wilderness to get away from it all! Friendly, hospitable hosts who were happy to take you to see glow worms, cave weta and freshwater crayfish locally and provide a meal if pre-booked.
Quite a drive to get there on gravel roads but worth the effort. Make sure you get supplies before going. Good BBQ and cook top. Friendly hosts, took us on lovely glow worm, native fresh water Crays and cave wetas tour at night.
Lovely hosts. It was a very nice stay.
Great place Great people. I made a mistake with my booking but no stress from hosts just good old fashion kiwi hospitality to help sort it out. 2nd time to visit. Looking forward to taking more visitors to Wetlands
Wonderful rustic setting. Our hosts where very welcoming.
This is a special wild and beautiful location. The units are cleverly designed, very comfortable and have everything you need. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Fabulous dinner. We especially liked the piece of coast just south of Paturau river.
Great location.Quiet and great if you want ti get away from it all.Awesome hosts who have gone over the coarse of duty and shared their local area.Highly recommended.
