Reviewed Aug 22, 2026The hotel is beautifully designed, and we especially liked the overall style and our Superior Luxe room.
The breakfast was very good and varied, and — something that is not always easy to find in Argentina — it included eggs, which we really appreciated.
There is also a restaurant on site. To be honest, I’m still not quite sure what was Greek about it, as it is described on Booking.com, but the service there was excellent. In fact, the restaurant staff were probably the highlight of our entire stay. They prepared delicious breakfasts and were incredibly quick, attentive, caring and professional throughout our two days at the hotel.
The restaurant menu itself is rather limited, and the prices felt quite high by local standards, but the wonderful staff more than made up for it. We genuinely enjoyed spending time there, both at breakfast and in the evenings, largely thanks to their warm and attentive service.
To be honest, I don’t quite understand the overall high rating of this hotel, and I don’t think it offers good value for the price.
Our impression was spoiled from the very beginning by the check-in experience. We arrived with all our luggage and waited at reception for more than ten minutes, but there was simply no one in the lobby. We had no idea when someone would come to assist us, even though we had informed the hotel of our arrival time in advance. This was also in the middle of the day, not late at night.
When someone finally appeared, the check-in itself was equally disappointing. We were simply handed the keys without any explanation about the hotel, its facilities or even basic information about our stay. I had to ask the receptionist myself what the hotel had to offer and about basic details such as breakfast times. For a hotel in this price range in case of you book Superior Lux, I find this level of service unacceptable.
I also have serious concerns about the safety of the gym. The equipment is indeed quite old, and while my husband was using one of the machines, a metal part actually fell from it and hit him on the head. This is genuinely dangerous and simply should not happen in a hotel gym.
Overall, I can only repeat that the restaurant staff are what save this hotel from a service perspective. They were attentive, efficient and genuinely caring, and in my opinion, the positive service experience here rests almost entirely on them.

Falta de mantenimiento en el spa.
El sauna de vapor no funcionaba y la ducha escocesa tenía tablones salidos.
Las instalaciones de lo que se suponía que era una suite fueron una gran decepción. El baño era pequeño y parecía diseñado para niños, lo que lo hacía incómodo. Las camas eran tan estrechas que solo podíamos dormir en una posición. En general, sentimos que el dinero que gastamos en esto fue una pérdida. Y en la zona de cocheras no informaron que los árboles despedían una lluvia tremenda, y nos arruinó el vehículo…

Douchen in de badkuip is niet passend voor deze prijsklasse.

The breakfast- numerous flies lurking on food. Kids digging their fingers into pastries etc understaffed so nobody to oversee the breakfast area.
Our shower wasn’t working so we had to move rooms after unpacking.

leeg zwembad, insecten, vieze matrassen van de bedden bij het zwembad , een zwaar verouderde sauna , bedden in de rustruimte waren kapot. peroneel niet proactief bezig met de gast , moeten overal om smeken , drankje bij het zwembad een welkomstdrankje.
gebrek aan algemeen onderhoud , gebrek aan interesse. deze plek heeft frisse energy nodig en een plan .
het gebouw en de plek heeft een mega potentie .
er lag een dooie vogel tijdens ons verblijf in het trappenhuis en niemand raapt het op .
het is jammer maar een slappe slome exploitatie , er moet geinvesteerd worden . sauna of spa is echt slecht aan toe.

Reviewed Nov 29, 2025Sehr schön gelegen, gut erreichbar und doch ruhig zwischen den Weinreben, großer gepflegter Garten mit Pool, Fitnessraum, saubere und große Zimmer, und sehr gutes Restaurant mit vegetarischen Optionen. Auch das Frühstück war sehr reichhaltig und die Weinverkostung ist auch zu empfehlen!

I was traveling with my husband, my niece (20) and my nephew (16), so I booked TWO rooms, one with a queen or king bed and the other one with two twins or full beds. The hotel said it could be arranged with no trouble. It was not a nice surprise when we arrived and we were given a double bed room with an adjacent “room” with the twin beds but only one shared bathroom! And more expensive than the two separate rooms I originally booked. We will not stay in Altalaluna again.
Also, dining at the restaurant is a little expensive, food was good but not great for the price.
Breakfast is very good.
Lovely staff member - Esmeralda- who looked after us during our stay. Good breakfast and dinner. A little away from any town, but made for a peaceful stay.

Reviewed May 31, 2024This is the best hotel we have been to in Argentina, the place is just wonderful and the employees are very nice! The location is beautiful, surrounded by vineyards, the hotel's architecture is stunning (it looks like a Spanish "masia" or a countryside house in Italy's Tuscany). When we arrived they gave us a room in the first floor and asked for a room in the floor above to have better views, they did all they could to change our room free of charge. They also offered a free wine-tasting, so we had the chance to try all of their wines with some cheese platters (white, red, rose, from the cheaper end to the very expensive end) with a professional sommelier. The hotel offers some activities (we did a horseback-riding excursion). In the evening the garden and the terrace are full of people enjoying some nice wine, the atmosphere is really magical. A lot of people ignore the area of Cafayate (and head to Mendoza instead), that is a big mistake, not only do I think that Cafayate wine is nicer but the area is beautiful. I strongly recommend staying here!

The manager was rude for every single request that we made, we wanted to use the BBQ grill and it wasn’t available for free, they charge us a lot of money.
The location is not that close to cafayate, 25min drive.
Wet sauna wasn’t available too.

Delicious breakfast.
The lack of english-speakers (I know that is a general problem in Argentina, but we experienced that some people try their best more than other). At the restaurant one understood perfectly what we said but refused to reply in english, created a strange atmosphere.
Restaurant in the evening was so-so.

Reviewed Mar 31, 2023A peaceful retreat just beyond bustling Cafayate. Our room was lovely and spacious, and it was such a treat to be able to walk around the vineyard in the morning. Breakfast was delicious, and there was a good selection to choose from. Dinner was also great, and our waiter was so friendly and gave us some wonderful recommendations for wine. There was an unpleasant smell coming out of the bathroom drain when we arrived
Staff was very friendly and attentive. The hotel is a gem in a quiet location, great food and nice spa area. Excellent wine!
Some more anti-mosquito tools would have been great.

En sus escaleras encuentras excremento de aves que se va acumulando por días, o bien, durante el desayuno puedes compartir tu mesa con un pequeño murciélago !!! que se mueve libre en la sala, estos ejemplos distan de lo que uno busca de un hotel.

Sehr gutes Essen mit dem Wein aus der eigenen Kellerei Tukma. Cafayate bekannt für die Torrontes Traube die man in Europa nicht oder wenig kennt hat einen feinen Weisswein als Apéro bereit.

Nos dieron un upgrade a una habitación muy grande pero poco funcional: las cortinas no cerraban bien, no había closet, tenía una TV muy pequeña para el tamaño habitación y distancia con la cama, etc. Pero un buen desayuno, lindo jardin, y atencion cordial.
