es ist ein sehr gemütliches britisches Hotel. Das Personal war unglaublich nett. Auch das Essen, sowohl Frühstück als auch Abendessen, war sehr köstlich. Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig, das Bett gemütlich.

Das einzige, was ich bemängeln könnte, ist das Badezimmer. Die Fugen könnten noch mal erneuert werden.

Breakfast was freshly cooked with excellent bacon. Room large and well equipped. parking easy with designated disabled parking near to doors.

On our second night, one of the senior staff seemed very surly, and rarely had a smile on his face. I felt he was overbearing to staff, and wanted to impress that he was in charge.

Very comfortable and clean. Friendly staff and a warm welcome. We had a lovely evening meal in the restaurant and an excellent cooked breakfast. I would definitely recommend it and hope to stay again one day.

Nice sized room with a lovely bathroom. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was really good, lots of cooked options and it tasted lovely.

It was quite hot while we were staying and with the windows open it was a little noisy. This would not put us off booking again however.

Very nicely decorated interior. We booked a Superior Double and were allocated Room 5 (n.b. most rooms also have a name which I believe are types of apples). The room and en suite were large and very comfortable. Location is good being centrally situated in the village and being not too far from Cheddar, Bristol, Weston Super Mare and Bath. Good free off road parking which also had electric charging facilities. Across the road from a CoOp and a very good Fish and Chip shop. Chinese, Indian, Pizza/Kebab takeaways also in the village along with cafes etc. Pub well supported by locals with friendly bar staff. Outside bench seating available too. Glad we had a discounted late booking rate.

Unfortunately we couldn’t access our room on arrival due to computer system issues, but the bar staff didn’t handle that situation well. We bought some drinks and then waited for over an hour in the bar with no updates.Indeed at one point when asking for an update I was asked why I had an urgent need to get into the room! This was four hours after the room should have been available for check in - and we were weary and hot and needed a shower before dinner. Eventually the manager apologised, the system got up and running and he let us into our room and offered a discount on an evening meal or a free round of drinks after being prompted to offer something for our discomfort. We had requested a quiet room if possible but although the room was lovely, it faced the main road which was very busy and noisy. We slept OK though as we were so tired. The menu for dinner didn’t entice us unfortunately. Breakfast too was OK but no option on how we would like our eggs cooked, the mushrooms were really salty and no jams/marmalade. Staff didn’t ask if we were enjoying the breakfast - and also didn’t ask how are stay was on check out. There were different staff on duty. All in all I feel hotel service and food offerings could have been so much better.

A real friendly place. Room & bathroom were spotlessly clean. Staff were great. Breakfast was exceptional and food on the evening good too. The only criticism was due to the heatwave the room was unbearably hot and could only slightly open one window. The fan did nothing.

Location excellent Breakfast and dinner in the pub, were amazing and great vfm.

Due to an exceptionally hot spell, the room was stifling, but a fan was supplied.

Breakfast was ok when we got it but it all felt a bit chaotic and it took a long time. Fortunately we were not on a tight schedule.

Large bed in large riom with excellent en-suite bathroom and shower. Obviously very handy for the pub/restaurant. Good breakfast.

I know it is exceptionally hot at the moment, and the curtains were closed when I arrived, but both the room and the whole of the upstairs area was very hot and stuffy. There was a small fan in the room which at least moved the warm air around a bit once it was on. Maybe they will have to cobsoder AC if such conditions prevail.

This place was great. We got a great deal, especially it being bank hol. Our room was lovely, big and comfortable, nice airy bathroom with huge shower. Only thing that could have been better was having air con as we came during a heat wave! Loved the box we got for our pooch. Staff were friendly and polite. Ate at the restaurant for dinner, food was fine. Breakfast included was an added bonus. Close to cheddar gorge where we were going the next day.

Convenient location for Bristol airport. Plenty of free parking. Room was spacious. It was nice to have a choice for breakfast and my poached eggs were done perfectly.

There are quite a few stairs (and no lift) so lugging heavy bags up and down was difficult. My evening meal was disappointing.

Bit of traffic noise from fairly busy road outside but still got decent sleep as traffic dropped off after 11pm

the beautiful place. The kind helpful staff, made a weekend great. We got rained off at a festival, but the staff where so friendly we went back and relaxed in the room and went down for a chat with the staff on the Saturday and all ready for the next day. Great place will definately go back.

Great location for work. The staff are very friendly and the food (and portion size) was lovely. I had booked a pet-friendly room though on this occasion and due to a change in plans I travelled alone. There was a welcome pack for the pooch with treats, water bowl, etc. Very comfortable bed and a spacious room. Breakfast is served from 7am which is great for those staying for work purposes.

We asked for a quiet room. Our room was fine but being on the front corner there was a lot of traffic noise early in the morning. Bed had a winter quilt- too much in the summer.

Lovely property with very clean rooms,ideal for travelling with 2 dogs, easy access for coming and going if needed during the night.

Mooie grote kamer voor 3 pers, de derde persoon heeft een klein apart kamertje. Lekker ontbijt, op voorhand te kiezen uit verschillende mogelijkheden. Je kan ook lekker eten in de pub en de fietsen konden veilig opgeborgen worden. Dichtbij de cheddarkloof en een dik uur naar Bath. Supervriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel ook. Vlakbij is een jogging/fietsroute op oude spoorweg.

Lovely gastro pub with rooms, just what we needed for one night. 15 minutes drive from Chedder so great location. The family suite was very comfortable with a super king bed, a sofa bed, and a single bed in a separate bedroom. The shower was fantastic and so was the breakfast!

Check out felt too early being at 10am.

Friendly staff, huge room with superb bathroom and huge walk in shower, excellent food selection with a couple of the choices having small or large portions, parking was okay but we had to park our motorcycles on the road.

Rear car park not really suitable for motorcycles and all other parking was full apart from on the road, had suitable parking at front of hotel/pub but was taken up by outdoor furniture which wasn't really being used.

Can’t think of anything except maybe the country western music playing all the time during meals. Even breakfast!

We had a lovely stay here. Excellent lunch , Dinner and breakfast the following morning. The wine was lovely - good choice of beers too. We were looked after very well by all the staff , nothing was too much trouble. Our twin room was huge , as was the bathroom. The beds were comfortable. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room with a whole caddy full of teabags and biscuits are a lovely bonus.
