The location is amazing , 2 hrs to Skyline and lots of time to explore Cape Breton , as it is exactly in the junction of 2 roads that span across east and west. The view from the window is amazing , overlooking a lake. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Have Coop store very close by and Farmers Daughter store as well with many bakery options. Overall its a great property in summer.

I would have appreciated having a microwave in the room , we could not heat up some of our packed food and microwaves are by default in all hotel rooms nowadays.

It was in a great location and we were able to bring out dog with us on our vacation.

The deck going up to the rooms out back is a bit worn but the owners were doing work to the motel

The staff are all very welcoming, proactive and show pride of ownershoip in the property. The room was well equipped, they thought of everything and responded to our needs very promptly. The pool was wonderful and the room was very spacious with a comfortable bed. The location is really excellent with a beautiful view of Bras D'or Lake.

No-frills accommodation. Room a little dated. Shower over bath. Nice view onto the Bras d'Or lake.

The air conditioning was very loud and blew directly onto the pillow, so we switched it off for the night. We had noisy neighbors (possibly construction workers from the construction site on the highway to Baddeck), obviously not the motel's fault.

If you're looking for a family friendly, nothing fancy, comfortable spot, I would recommend this place for sure! It was very clean, AC was amazing in the insane heat, and for a family of four, it had everything we needed.

The pool was nice but there was no skimmer and there was a lot of debris from the surrounding trees in the pool.

Rooms were basic but very clean.

Up on a hill, overlooking a nice lake

Nice location with lake view from the front. I liked the parking specified for each room. The room was very clean and well organized. It had a small fridege, microwave overn, a toaster and coffee maker which I would say better than most other similar motels. Also, each room on the entrance was separated by wooden fence which added privacy and I liked this.

The beds were a bit on the softer side for us although many guests may prefer that softer beds. I don't have anything to complain about at all. If they added a breakfast I would have given the highest rating.

Location, the bed sheets and towels were clean.

It was expensive for a very run down motel room. The furniture was particle board and very warped from exposure to moisture. The room had a strong odour of mold.

Any place that is pet friendly is number 1 in my books

Un petit déjeuner serait un plus. Devoir prendre la route pour avoir un petit-déjeuner ne me convient pas. La chambre est un peu petite pour 2 grands lits.

Wonderful staff - so welcoming. Our view was lovely. Room was spacious.

La personne a l accueil était très sympathique, même son chat Félix et ses chiens nous souhaitaient la bienvenue. Sinon, en tant que motel, ca faisait la job en tout point.

Rien de particulier , à part les insectes à l extérieur, mais c'est l'endroit qui fait cette situation. Sinon, rien de négatif.

The desk clerk was very friendly and helpful, but at check in and check out. The room, while dated, was very clean and in good order. It’s definitely a frontier sort of place, so the gravel parking area and rustic stairs outside to access the room were not a surprise.

The outdoor area (covered stairwell) could’ve been tidier, such as kept swept of dirt and dead bugs. The air conditioning was apparently out of service, though a portable air conditioner had been provided, which kept the main area comfortable, though didn’t do anything for the separate bedroom.

The room was clean and comfortable. Had a great view of the water from the room and deck chairs outside our room. Appreciate that they didn’t put people right beside us.

Cleanliness in bathroom was not good. Skirting boards were dirty/ dusty. This could be due to recent decoration. Corners of floor were dirty

There was no breakfast, but we knew that and were okay with that, since we wanted to eat at Charlene's restaurant, located nearby... The view outside the motel was priceless !!! Beautiful scenery of the lake and surroundings. Very comfortable and clean room... We would definitely go again!!!

Lost power in the middle of the night, but not the staff's fault. Plus, it didn't last long...

For small kids and families, should give room on ground floor. Room was upstairs so not very accessible with small kids and stroller. The stairs were dingy.

The staff was outstanding- friendly and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. The beds were excellent and linens were great. The room was very clean and bright. Good quality for the price. Great view of water. Found a good food market and a charming upscale farmer’s market with delicious treats to enjoy back in our room.

There are limited services in the town.

It was a budget motel that was clean and comfortable and had a few extra in-room small appliances I wasn't expecting but pleased to see. The staff were friendly and helpful. And the view was beautiful.

The faucet in the bathtub was broken, so we were unable to shower, We arrived, were advised to go for dinner as the nearby restaurants closed early. When we returned and went to have a shower, we realised that the bath faucet was broken and the office was shut. Cannot understand why they would knowingly rent out a room with a broken faucet,

Wish they had a water dispenser with drinking water but the rooms were clean and comfortable

The bathroom was newly renovated. The beds were very comfortable. Furniture a bit dated and worn but that really didn’t impact our stay

There was a very strong smell of cleaning agents when we arrived that really bothered my allergies but after leaving the windows open for an hour the smell dissapated

Quiet location, staff provided some extra things we needed, easy check in, nice view. Internet works. Toaster, kettle and microwave were convenient.

We had two stays here. First room had a smart TV with many channels including sports channels, second room didn’t. We were sadly unable to watch the Blue Jays in their playoff run. Need sports net. Cold breeze coming in from the air conditioner window. No curtain on it.

Love this motel. The rooms are spotless, pretty and comfortable. The view is lovely and Christena couldn't have been more welcoming. This place is all heart!

Very friendly & welcoming at reception. That’s Nova Scotian hospitality. Many thanks to our host. Rooms are clean & comfortable. Close to Charlene’s Restaurant with the best seafood chowder. We have stayed here before & would do so again.

Nice property just off highway but quiet area. Room was spacious and very clean. Took a while to get hot water but it came eventually. Lady that checked us in was very pleasant.

Location was great. Nice chairs out front to sit in when the weather was nice. The room was spacious and had a little fridge, tea kettle, coffee machine, and toaster - all worked great. We needed some bowls for breakfast so I asked in the office and they had a couple in no time, so easy and helpful :) The staff were really nice and friendly. Met a couple lovely black labs too who were so sweet and well behaved. The immediate area had all the stores you might need to kit you out for your days on the go too. :) Also, a minute drive up the road is Salt Mountain, you can park by the campsite and walk, stunning views of the Bras D'or Lake, we really enjoyed it. We walked it the morning before check out, just to stretch the legs before our drive and it exceeded our expectations. Great little walk, though some may find it steep in places :)

Some people will call it basic, but it really did have everything we needed. We stayed a few nights while hiking and were comfortable. :)

Um ein Frühstück zu erhalten, muss man einige Kilometer bis zu einem Tim Hortons fahren.

Loved the two brother dogs. They greeted everyone so nicely. The beds were comfy. The staff were very friendly. Location perfect. We did the cabot trail from there and also left to see Fort Louisbourg from the hotel. The bathroom door hinges needed lubrication. Thats are minor detail unless you have to go in the middle of the night lol. Eoom was always kept nice and clean.

Lovely motel with a beautiful view of the water. Staff were fantastic!! We stayed here on our way off the Cabot Trail. (We did it counter clockwise). Not many restaurants near but a great General store just at the corner down the road with a take out counter and great fresh baking. We chose to get simple sandwiches on their fresh homemade bread. Best sandwich we may have ever had. And try their ‘pocket sandwiches’. Wonderful! Great stay. Would stay again.

Clean, comfortable, nice place to stop as we ended our drive on the Cabot Trail. Great restaurant nearby as well as a French Bakery that opens early.

Our room was absolutely beautiful, and very clean. The owner is very personable and lovely to speak with. We took our provided outdoor chairs over to a grassy area to enjoy the water view. Out of the 7 hotels we’ve stayed out on this trip, Fair Isle ranks #1.

Check in was quick and efficient. She was extremely friendly and helpful.

The staff were pleasant but we had an unfortunate experience with other guests who smoked, drank, and talked loudly right outside our room late into the night. They were long term guests so we left the next day.

Excellent motel to stay in this area. Super clean and comfortable. Easy check in and out. Good soundproofing in room in spite of noisy neighbors the second night.

The bathroom was a very generous size and more updated than the rest of the room. There were appliances to prepare a light basic breakfast.

We checked in in the early afternoon. The room assigned to us had a HORRIBLE smell when we arrived. The previous guests had burnt something in the microwave ( presuming popcorn). We went to the office and advised them of the issue and first we asked the receptionist for baking soda. We put it in the microwave but soon realized it would never be able to be effective in the short term. We then unplugged and removed the microwave from the room and placed it outside. We advised the front desk what we had done and asked about another room. They advised there was nothing on that level and we would have to move to the back. I don’t understand why they couldn’t offer us another room on that level. We made our booking back in March. We weren’t a last minute booking. A short time later a lady (the manager?) came and picked up the microwave. She simply said “It can’t be that bad”. But never stepped into the unit to smell how bad it truly was. She made no apologies of any kind. I cannot believe the cleaning staff would not have advised management of the issue and leave all doors and windows open when they were cleaning. The facility is very dated and the furnishings are in very poor condition.
