Both were awesome, conveniently next to our room
Amazing
It was an average facility. They put us right at the construction and it was extremely noisy. The concierge was terrible. Our A/C went out and it was very hot. They did send someone to repair it expediently. I will give them that. The staff for the most part were very friendly. Once renovations are complete, it may be a better stay.
Just a three star property at best. Nothing special here.
There was paint splatter all over the bathroom...the smoke detector was right above the stove. So when i cooked or used the toaster it went off. The tv didnt work....the spa never returned my call so i didnt get a massage. The so called concierge only wanted to sell timeshares and book excursions
Morritts provide great food options as well as activities on site which keeps you engaged with staff, family and friends.
Very peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed a lovely weekend stay!
One night extension to a week also at Morritts. Poolside unit (1 bedroom) recently renovated and comfortable. Great resort!
The hotel was very nice. It was on the east end so very quiet and that’s something that our family loves. It had everything you needed restaurants beach pools.
They were very courteous and helpful!
Amazing resort! Safe property and friendly staff. Daily activities for the whole family. Night time going-ons as well. You won’t be disappointed!
Like the property but couldn't get any good sleep go to bed late and construction over my head 0830 am for five days that what i paid for....MONEY WAS GIVEN AWAY...MANAGER NEVER RETURNED MY CALL I REQUESTED TO TALK WITH THEM
The resort is on the quiet east end. It's a very tropical area. Highly recommend getting a car. All staff are very helpful & friendly. The resort is laid out so anywhere you go is a short walk. Daily activities. Food at the restaurants is good. Grocery & liquor store is walkable.
We were asked to play extra for the electricity of the room we have already paid for ; It is the first time for have the experience
Amenities were good, but th
Great property. For those who want quietness and seclusion, this is the place.
Nice resort and beautiful views. Pools are big and doesn’t make you feel on top of other people. A/c and wifi are great!
The only thing I did not like was at check-in. I gave them a copy of my rental and there was no record of it in the Tortuga Club system. After about 15 minutes they got us situated and told me that they had never received any confirmation from Expedia.
We stayed here 2 years ago and had a good experience. This time was not the same. Our room was a 1 bedroom ocean view. Perfect location, great view but not this time. Seaweed is abundant at this time. So our first day we checked in and our view was a tractor scraping and pushing seaweed across the sand. To the left there was another piece of heavy equipment and a truck dumping large boulders to build some sort of road or levee on the water. For hours we got to listen to this. We went to use the pool and there is also construction of a new bldg. back to our room, our shower squealed when we ran the hot water for however long we ran it. Our bed made constant noise whenever you moved so it was very difficult to sleep at all. The rooms have no sound barrier between them so if your neighbors are doing anything you will get to hear it all. We left on our last evening there to go to a different hotel on 7 mile beach because we needed to have a decent nights sleep and be able to enjoy the ocean view. It was worth spending the extra $400 to give up the last night at Morritts to go to the Kimpton resort. Above all I think the worst part is that the front desk staff are probably the most unfriendly of anywhere on the island. Even checking out the clerk was rude and indifferent. No attempt to try and correct the experience. So we will definitely be back to grand cayman as it is our favorite island but we will not be going to morritts.
Good service. Great staff. Will return.
They had nothing complimentary at all in the rooms. Better to exchange money and use caymans money for all purchases. There upgrading rooms that I was in a none upgraded one. But in the end I had a great time on my vacation.
We have been going to Morritts for over 20 years and are never disappointed. Great family vacation spot!
Quiet location. Away from the tourist spots.
It was quiet and the staff were pleasant aND HELPFUL
It's on the east end and it's close to Rum Point. Very quite and safe.
We enjoyed our trip and stay at Morritts Tortuga. We have been to Grand Cayman several times and have always chosen to stay at the Morritts Tortuga club that offers great units and amenities. My husband is a diver and the diving on sight is an added plus. We will definitely be back.
A perfect welcome upon arrival, very efficient and friendly. Attentive service throughout my stay. A perfect location away from the commercialism closer to Georgetown and the airport. Rooms are large and clean and well stocked with kitchen items. For some very odd reason soap but no shampoo in the bathroom. The whole complex has so much to offer if you wish to have organised activities. A really comforting and friendly place to stay on the island. I am sure that I will return.
Our condo was perfect for the the two of us even though we didnt spend much time inside. Just sleeping and breakfast. Jessika the bartender was awesome. She made us feel very welcome. She was very friendly and attentive. We followed her from bar to bar most of the time we were there. The beach was beautiful. I enjoyed snorkeling around the dock and seeing the different fish. We saw Tarpon, Lionfish, a large Star fish even a small stingray. We will be back.
This property is well very clean and kept maintained. The dining options are excellent, and the staff is helpful.
My view from my room was very unique I enjoyed my stay .. thank u
Nice Room, amazing beach view.
We enjoy Morritt’s overall, but with the construction going on for a new building right in the center of the whole complex, it was not as enjoyable as in the past. The one bedroom unit for the one night is a little dated. Again, not a real problem for us, but dated, and by the furthest pool. David’s and Mimi’s are great for the food offered. For some reason, it took a long time for the shower water to get hot, which seemed unusual to us. We will still return to Morritt’s in the future because we like the quiet side of the island and there are enough options for us to enjoy. We look forward to the construction being completed and hopefully a few upgrades to the units. Thanks.
Quiet part of island with great snorkeling close by.
Quiet and peaceful... Away from the crowds
Great Location
Thank you for giving us a really nice room
Great staff. Great food and beverage.
All in one resort. Great beach and pool access. Lots of activities. Friendly staff. Building that I was in was a little worn. The bed needed a mattress upgrade. Other than that, a wonderful stay.
Love Morritts. As always a great Cayman getaway. The quiet east end is always welcoming. The Red Sports/Tortuga Divers on site is always great. The staff always smiling.
The place had fabulous snorkeling and staff was very friendly. Our room was very dated and needed some TLC. Everything was clean though. It’s definitely the windy side of the island. Overall we had a great vacation!
I feel safe and everything including the supermarket is within walking distance.
Great
Everything was good except there’s no shampoo and conditioner.
I didn't like my room, it was outdated, room service would only go in and remake bed. No change of sheets, carpet was musty. Room was old, and so was furniture.
The property has no elevator and I have as assigned a room on the third floor. Due to physical conditions this was very hard for me but they were not able to change my room. I purchased cake from coffee shop and it was very hard I’m sure it has been there for days I ended throwing it away. Breakfast was good! The room was not what Expedia had shown but oh well what go you do.
First night was a little disturbed when around 11:30pm-12midnight an elderly couple tried so many times to open our door. We are already asleep and tired from flight and this couple are coming back and forth to open our door and we tried to call front desk and no one answered and until the couple left for good. There are few friends we called living 5 min of property asking their advices. The drunk couple even left their glass of beer on porch. They must have leave an apology note if they have manners. Otherwise overall experience is good at Morritts! Highly recommended!
There were bugs in the room. Staff wasn’t too friendly
Overall we had a good stay. Like the pools (multiple as the two we used both had a swim up bar). What they could improve: they clean the muck that arrived in the beach in the afternoon; why don’t you do that in the morning so that people can enjoy the beach more? Also: they seem to have a standard policy of not letting anybody in early into their room. I get that if people show up early morning but this is not very customer friendly as they insist you should again stop by the desk and yes stand in line twice
Everyone was very friendly and so nice
They should provide shampoo and conditioner and body wash , also no tissues in the room
Amazing staff! So helpful. Our room was beautifully decorated and the balcony overlooking the beach was truly the highlight of the stay. We can’t wait to return again!
Loved the room and staff friendly!
Very friendly and helpful staff and clean and well maintained. However internet was crappy and since it is main means of communication and entertainment, needs attending to now
A great place for the family.
Beautiful place, will go back again.
I like everything about the property!!!
It was amazing!
They were barely occupied and still didn't upgrade me to an ocean view room in which I've always had because I am an owner as well.
Very quiet great to unwind
Great relaxing resort
I was treated like a princess. And I felt like a princess the whole time I was there. I would highly recommend this place and I hope to be able to visit again soon. Praise Jesus!
Staff were very helpful and friendly, Omar at the front desk is exceptional, a real asset. There were also lots of activities to keep guests entertained. BUT the exterior of the property needs maintenance and it took A LOT of effort to open the sliding glass door to the patio, which was grungy. Overall though, really enjoyed my stay.
Beautiful resort. Staff and other guests are always friendly.
Rooms well worn, pool conditions overheated and overcrowded, beach area small rockey, expensive, restaurant not very good, no soap, coffee or other starters.
I booked a 3-night stay, last minute, as an "add on" to my timeshare trade, and was placed in the Cheswick Building. It is the only building left to be renovated. It was very very clean, but definitely needed some TLC...carpet needed a deep clean/replaced. But for the price I paid, it served the purpose. I love this resort and visit Morritt's every year - the property and snorkeling is amazing. The staff is INCREDIBLE, as well.
Excellent place to relax and unwind. Loved that it had full cooking facilities in the apartments. Room service wasn't done everyday! Wifi was reliable. Need to have a car given its location. Restaurant prices are exorbitant. Front desk lady was nice but acted smug by claiming she knew better than Google when I had enquired about a nearby bank. The bramch closed 6 months ago but she was overconfident in claiming that she is a local and she knew better!! The views from the room was nice. Will come back!
This location is fabulous it is beautiful and has respect for the ocean it sits on the east end of the island.
Staff at Grand pool were rude. Premier pool allowing non-guests kids in pool and not nothing about it. May think twice about going back.
a little further from the action, but it's close to the dive shop so it works out, love the pool and gym and the room has a nice ocean view and steps away from the beach front
The hotel was very dated. I've stayed in the last year at best western in the U.S. that were nicer than this. No alarm clock, poor access to plugs (on either side of bed, one plug free, behind a table). No USB plugs for convenience. "Key" for the room is on a bracelet like for a theme park. They do not tell you when they place it on you that it is removable. No shampoo, conditioner or lotion amenities. No coffeepot, but not a Keurig maker. It needed ground coffee and filters. Filters seem left over from a prior tenant, but no coffee, sweetener, creamer, etc. The coffeemaker holds 12 cups like a regular machine, but no pot, nor room for a pot under it like normal. No elevator. We only had to lug 45lb luggage up a single flight of stairs in 100 degree in the shade weather. No one ever asked if we were able to do that, just assigned it, and I knew from experience to ask about the elevator. No potholders to use the glass bakeware, or the broiler pan and cookie sheet that were "hidden" in the actual oven, rather than in the long thin cabinet alongside it. Hardly any space in the bathroom to put any toiletries. Trouble with slow draining shower (standing in an inch of dirty water for first shower). Luckily resolved within a couple hours after our call. Food at their $30CI (CI=$1.25US) welcome dinner was poor, cafeteria quality buffet food. Dinner held outside, no fans, a single waiter. Water never refilled. Poor "drink ticket" idea, and you have to get a talk about their resort
I liked the area it was in, i believe it is over priced. Everything is very expensive at the resort.
Curtains were thin and the light shined in and the room was not close to being dark at night. Only one chair that was not that comfortable. The lights were dim even in the kitchen, only one frying pan, no light in the stove, vanity in bathroom was too small, and the room was showing signs of neglect. The adult pool had big chunks of the surface missing. The wait service in the dining room and the grill were very poor, they never asked if your meal was okay or offered any more water the entire time. Steaks were fatty with gristle and very chewy. On Monday at about 7:30pm we were in our room in a state of undressing putting on our swimsuits when a man barged into our room, when I yelled he shut the door. Iputting on our swimsuits when a man barged into our room, when I yelled he shut the door. I got my suit on and went to the door, he was walking away fast and when he saw me he came back and said he was a manager and our room was marked as empty. The next morning I went to the front desk and found out that our room was marked as occupied since Wednesday the week before when we arrived and would be until Saturday. The manager was not in and the woman at the desk said she would talk to him about the incident and we would hear back from him. Later he called and stated it was someone from housekeeping. No reason why he came into our room that late, our room had been made up hours before the incident. He said he was sorry over the phone and offered nothing to try and make it right.
Second time to Morritt’s, this time with our 4yo. He LOVED the pool, the resort is super low-key, and it’s East End so it’s quiet compared to 7 mile beach. There’s always chairs and beach frontage available. The entire east end feels like a private beach. It’s close to some great restaurants, but I’d recommend a rental car if you want to explore from this side of the island.
Staff are very courteous and friendly. The place is quiet and amazing for relaxation.
Lovely property, great housekeeping, good snorkeling off the pier; everything clean and everyone nice. Would come back again. Quiet side of the island and loved it!
Quiet, clean, modern and affordable.
Very relaxing resort
Great property
Needs a deep cleaning. Rooms in building 5 are really outdated and showing their age. Drinks are outrageously expensive $15 for one Pina Colada. Needs room darkening blinds. The welcome party didn’t have free drink.
Location is beautiful, staff was attentive and friendly. Perfect for families.
I like that they had happy hour. I like that you can do your own snorkeling in the beach. It's nothing to do on the weekends and you need a car especially if you staying at this hotel. This hotel would be more enjoyable if they provide shuttle services to things at least certain days or at certain time because everyone doesn't drive. This hotel is more for older people who wants more of a relax low key vacation no party's . They only have 2 places to eat. Pools was great beach was good . I definitely did like that you can walk to a plaza area where they have a market, liquor store and a place where u can get some souvenir type of stuff
We arrived 3 hours early and they were more than accommodating and allowed us an early checkin.
On the quieter end of the island. Grocery store across the street. Rooms have been renovated - clean and modern. About a 50 minute drive to 7 mile beach, about 30 minutes to Rum Point beach. The 3 restaurants onsite are good - breakfast at Davids reasonably priced and good. Sports bar was good. Mimi’s for lunch was nice. Across the street is an Italian restaurant - good. Tukka restaurant was very good - less than 10 min drive.
Convenient
Loved it.
The beach was a complete disappointment. Unfortunately the water was extremely murky/brown in color. We could not swim there because the water was yucky. Our room was extremely outdated. They didn’t even provide shampoo and/or conditioner. The hot tub in the middle pool seemed dangerously hot. We put our feet in but could not actually sit in it because it was too hot. The ping pong balls were missing the whole trip so we couldn’t play. The check-in person did not seem pleasant which is a bad way to start our vacation.
Property was clean. The food menu could’ve been better, the activities on a weekend was limited, events close to early, kinda expensive
I went for a little staycation at the Morritts with my boyfriend this past weekend. We arrived at 12pm in order to use the facilities and enjoy the beautiful day. One of the staff was very lovely and gave us our wrist bands, showed us a map and explained everything we needed to know. She asked us to come back at 4pm to activate our wristbands and get our room number. When I got back to the desk later that day a different woman was very rude to me and gave me what I can only describe as the stink eye. I told her I was checking in, and she asked why since I already had my wrist band. I explained to her that we had arrived early and that our room wasn't ready yet, but we still wanted to use the facilities. Then she asked for my last name, and then asked me to spell it, when I began she cut me off saying she only needed the first 3 letters. Then she proceeded to write my room number on a post it and said, "Here you go" I then asked if she was going to activate my wrist band, and she said no someone else had already done it when I checked in. I said I was pretty sure they hadn't and then she gave me another nasty look and said that she was positive they had. I then went and asked a different staff member to point me in the direction of my room, as there are many buildings on the property, and I didn't know which one my room was in. When we got there the wrist bands didn't work. So when we went back to the desk she begrudgingly activated our bands and didn't even apologize.
As Morritts is a time share property and we reserved through Orbits, we did not have to go through the sales pitch. We got a very good price based upon typical Grand Cayman prices, but our room was was one of the older ones. They are upgrading some of the rooms, but our room was not one of them. We also had a pool view, not an ocean view. Their fancy restaurant was quite expensive but Mimi’s at the end of the pier was very reasonable and had good food. We spent our days at Rum Point and our evenings after dinner in the pool. There is a small grocery store within walking distance.
The property is clean but the property is very remote. You must have a rental car. I was very disappointed that the hotel does not provide shampoo or conditioner.
Overall we are pleased
It was a nice property. Quiet and clean. My only complaint is that the only pool that didn’t have a bar was the adult only pool. I had two small children with me and it would have been nice to have a pool that didn’t have a bunch of people drinking in it for them to swim.
Just being an island.
Liked - Island Location, Staff, Beautiful Area Disliked - had to leave
Excellent quiet place to relax in September
The hotel staff were exceptional. Very knowledgeable and more than willing to accommodate. Staff was accessible, courteous, and friendly. The staff made you feel as though you are priority. The hotel is located where the beach is accessible, and nearby local shopping and dining is just a short stroll. The area feels safe day and night. Transportation is readily available for an affordable price. The room was very comfortable, clean, updated and supplied with many amenities.
Absolutely Stunning. Very welcoming people, polite and professional. It was our second stay and it was amazing.
About 45 minutes away from Seven Mile Beach. The property is at the beach but there was pretty much covered by seaweed, we did not hang out at the beach at all but at the pool and bar few days. Staff is friendly. Bed was comfortable, bathroom and living room and kitchen area very clean
