With U Hotel & Guesthouse

The absolute best location. The guesthouse is right next to the Sokcho Express Bus Terminal. I arrived from Seoul via bus, got off and directly was in front of the guesthouse. Within a 5 minute walk you are directly at Sokcho Beach. I was mainly there to go visit the Seoraksan National Park. Directly in front of the guesthouse is a bus stop that brings you right to the park within 25 minutes. The room itself is pretty spacious for Korean standards, especially the bathroom.

The mattress was rather hard. I was a bit worried in the beginning but after 3 nights I cannot complain. I still had the best sleep.

Limpio , buen aseo ducha , gel, champú . Colchón excelente , pequeña nevera. Dos camas literas , cuidado, con la cabeza 😄. En frente terminal bus que llegas desde Seul Terminal Bus Express. Para hacer treking a Seoraksan salir del hotel , girar a la izquierda , y 20 metros parada bus n 7 y n 7-1. Abajo tiene espacio común para comer , cafetera con café molido , etc . He desayunado sin problemas . Pone que abre a las 8,00 am, pero entre antes . No está cerrada con llave la puerta . Al lado de recepción.

Una tontada . Un poco de confusión con lavabo/ducha que es set unido . Te duchas y no olvides girar llave salida hacia el grifo lavabo, si no lo haces vuelve a salir el agua de la ducha y te empapas 😃.

Great location across from the bus terminal. Close to the beach (where one can swim). One can walk to the fish market and other market (or get a local bus). Friendly staff. The room was on the small side but fine for one night.

lovely and comfortable hotel 5min walk from the express bus terminal and 10min walk from the main Sokcho beach. The room was spacious (for Korean standard) and bed comfortable. It my second time staying here and will come again.

Not that we didn't like it, but just something to be aware of, the check-in person isn't alwats there - but there is good signage about what todo (QR to contact him by what's app if you are outside waiting to check in, or signs showing where to leave your bag and your room key if you are inside about to check out and like to leave your bag)

Die Lage der Unterkunft war super, um Ausflüge zu den Bergen oder zum Strand zu machen. Der Host war sehr freundlich und das Hotel war sauber und ordentlich.

Mooie kamer, perfecte locatie voor in Sokcho. Bij de express terminal en de bushalte naar het natuurpark. Daarnaast was de eigenaar enorm vriendelijk en hielp ons bij alle vragen. Zou dit verblijf enorm aanraden.

Het was vies. Schimmel in de badkamer, vlekken op het beddengoed. Veel stof. Werd verkouden wakker.

Amazing location next to Sokcho beach and across from the express bus depot! Very clean,new looking and good value! Large downstairs kitchen and seating area but empty when I was there.

The bed as noted on other reviews is hard if that’s okay for you!

Der Host ist sehr herzlich und unterstützend. Habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt in dem kleinen, aber sehr feinen Hotel. Es sind kleine, durchdachte Details, die in der Summe ein tolles Ergebnis bildeten.

Einzig die Lage an der lauten Strasse. Gute Ohropax und Schlafmaske mitnehmen, dann kann man gut schlafen.

Comfortable and had good vibes

Advertising air conditioning and then not allowing its use is very unfortunate. It was super humid in the room and with no ac it was impossible to be comfortable.

I arrived and was greeted at the door and shown where everything was. My room was bigger than expected and very comfortable. The guesthouse is right across the road from the express bus terminal and if you are going to Seoraksan national park to hike, the bus stop is to the left as you walk outside the guesthouse door. So close to everything.

I would have liked to stay longer.

The room was great, we had to book two rooms due to our party size, these rooms were across the hall from each other, nice and warm, with outdoor seating for socialising and eating.

The best stay we had in our vacation. Nice size and very clean room and bathroom, just across the street from one of the main bus terminals. Towels and toiletries provided. I loved the décor, everything was so cozy. Really very cheap, I regret not having the time to stay longer. Would return anytime.

Wonderful location, close to the beach and the bus stops to get into the centre of the town as well as the Seoraksan National Park. The hostel had everything we needed, and the manager was so friendly. Would definitely book again in the future.

The staff were incredibly kind! The rooms were large, clean, and good for the price.

The location was really good near the beach and right next to a bus stop from where you can take the bus to Seoraksan National Park. The room was relatively large and clean.

When we arrived we didn’t know that there might not be anyone at the reception before the check in time, but after calling them we were able to store our bags there before check in. After check out we had to leave our bags in the hallway which didn’t feel very safe and at first there was again no one at the reception who we could ask. Otherwise the owner was helpful and kind

Très bien situé juste en face de la gare de bus express si vous arrivez de Séoul, à quelques mètres également de l'arrêt de bus pour le parc Seoraksan. A proximité des restaurants (à moins de 15 minutes à pied), de plusieurs superettes et d'un immense supermarché. A quelques minutes du bord de mer. Chambre et salle de bain très propres, les lits sont confortables. La salle commune est très pratique pour se préparer le petit déjeuner. Elle offre un bel espace de jeux pour les petits et les grands. Il est possible de laisser ses bagages en toute confiance. Merci beaucoup pour l'accueil. Nous recommandons !

The room was clean and quite big. The bathroom was large and overall good. The location of this place is great. Some of the sights are just a walking distance away and the bus stop for national park, to the center and to the seaside temple is just next to tho the hotel. The host allowed us to check in earlier as well, which was great cause it was raining the whole morning and day.

There was no place to unpack your stuff so it all kind of layed around. Especially if you come from hiking and have stuff you want to wash or dry.

Location was excellent, across the road from the express bus terminal and the bus stop to Seoraksan is right ouside. Several food options and convenience stores nearby. The room was effective for a short stay. Air con, fridge and hairdryer good. Appreciated the water coolers, and there is a kitchen in the basement though I did not use it. The owner was kind and helpful despite the language barrier and when I left something behind after check-out he responded very quickly to help me get it before I missed my bus! Easy to leave your luggage there before check-in or after check-out.

Room size is just nice for one person but if two or more, it'd be tight, especially to find space for luggage. The bed is indeed very hard as other reviewers say. Since I was alone on a double bed, I lay on half the duvet and folded the other half over me as a blanket, and that was very comfortable. It's not the newest place but it was clean and functional. I was told to keep the window slightly open (there was a fly net thankfully) which means I could hear street noise, but that's what my earplugs are for. The aircon light is quite bright at night but that's what my eyemask is for. The shower setup is unusual but it was tolerable for a short stay. Towels provided are thin hand towels but at least there were several. There is no elevator but on the first day the host very kindly helped to carry my luggage up. No room cleaning/makeup service, maybe they only do if one puts the sign outside the door? But didn't really matter since I was only there 2 nights.

Spacious room in a good location. Literally right next to the Express Bus terminal (for busses to Seoul or Seoraksan National Park). Also very friendly reception and lots of room in the basement to eat or hang for a bit.

The shower was part of the washing basin which made it a bit hard to shower, but overal it was okay. The mattress was too hard for us, but we managed.

The gentleman who works on reception was so friendly and accommodating. The location was also great - one bus straight to Seoraksan and opposite the express bus station.

It was almost perfect, just the bed was a little hard for my taste and the room was a bit cold. There was a control for the air conditioner but there was no heating option.

Das Hotel liegt in fußläufiger Entfernung von Strand und zu vielen Restaurants. Auch eine Bushaltestelle ist direkt in der Nähe. Das Zimmer hatte eine normale Größe für Korea. Das Bett oder besser die zwei Betten hatten keinen eigenen Bettrahmen, sondern die Matratzen lagen auf einem Podest, das über die gesamte Zimmerbreite läuft. Das ist grundsätzlich ok, macht den Ein- oder Ausstieg vom oder ins Bett nur etwas anders. Im Zimmer selbst gibt es keine Möglichkeit Kaffee oder Tee zuzubereiten, dafür gibt es im Basement einen Aufenthaltsraum, in dem man dies möglich ist.

Bäder können in Korea schon anders sein als gewohnt. Ich meine dabei die fehlende Trennung zwischen Dusche und dem Rest. Hier gab es zwar eine kleine Glaswand, allerdings ist das Waschbecken Teil der Duscharmatur, so dass man hier noch weniger Ablagefläche hat, da nach dem Duschen alles nass ist.

The owner is very welcoming, the room was clean, big and the bed comfortable. There is a big kitchen / game area in the basement. The location is perfect, near the express bus terminal, the bus station to go to the Seoraksan Park, and five minutes walk from the beach. It was very quiet, I didn't see other people, which was surprising because of how nice this place is. Maybe it was because I stayed there just before Chuseok.
