Olde worlde and full of charm. Absolutely stunning

Excellent breakfast served quickly, great location
Feel the room needed a good makeover, appreciate its a very historic building but can still be improved and in keeping with the property, also felt the menu was overpriced and although the meal I had was tasty there definitely wasn't enough of it !!
It was in a good location for the wedding we were attending. Plenty of parking. The staff were pleasant.
I feel quite duped, the photos portrayed a 4* country pub with rooms. Thisit is was not, and no 4 star accommodation should ever have bare hardboard on the floor. The parts of the accommodation we saw need redecoration and repair. It was also concerning that we arrived back just after 11pm, and the place was in darkness. We had to use our phone torch to find our way through the downstairs maze to our room upstairs and to find the door to the staircase took several attempts as it was sticking so at first thought it was the wrong door. Panic was starting to kick in before a big pull on another try pulled it open.
It being an older building it had everything you’d need comfort, clean, friendly and helpful staff 👍🏽😘
I liked everything
Very friendly and helpful staff.
The location was great as close to wedding venue. The staff were lovely, very friendly and informative. Breakfast was nice and included in price
It is need of some updating and repair. Carpets were worn and it was generally a bit tatty. However it didn’t spoil our stay and some of the features of this lovely old inn need to be retained. It was kept clean
Friendly and helpful staff, plenty of parking spaces, lovely breakfast
The outside could do with a refresh of paint and an upgrade inside. Remove the carpet from bathroom.
It’s location
It was spacious
Really nice breakfast - very fresh and good timings

Location
Most uncomfortable bed I not slept in for a long time, very lumpy bed. Whilst it may be an old building, the place needed cleaning on the stairs and the floor repairing . Place needs a whole update. Room was clean but very tired.
Nice location and plenty of walks for the dogs
Very worn out everywhere and generally grubby, it’s was very hot and they had no fans anywhere. I’ve got better dog towels than they provide as room towels, even the breakfast cutlery wasn’t clean
Really nice place, staff were extremely friendly and happy to help, even carried my bags upstairs for me. Room was very clean, comfortable and I enjoyed that I could see and hear lots of rare birds from the window. Stayed during the world cup and was not even remotely disturbed by football fans which was a really pleasant surprise. Will definitely stay again.
Room was VERY hot, however it was a heatwave so no judgement on the hotel themselves, but would perhaps recommend bringing a fan if visiting in the summer!
Great location. Plenty of parking and comfortable room. Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff. Would stay again
The area staff fabulous 👌
Great setting, tasty food, friendly staff, comfortable stay.

All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious with locally sourced ingredients that were very well prepared and cooked. We ate breakfast and dinner here both days and it was consistently some of the best pub food we have ever had, especially the breakfast which was outstanding. We were particularly impressed with the fact that the black pudding, bread and preserves were all made on the premesis. There were four local real ales on tap which were all in top condition. It was busy without being too crowded and the live music on Tuesday was an unforseen bonus. The Talbot is in a great location and in the evening sun, it was lovely sat in the garden with a pint watching the rabbits run in the adjoining field.
Don't change anything. We had a great time and will definitely come back.
Fantastic stay, we stayed for a wedding nearby but stopped an additional night the day before as we were travelling far. We had dinner in the pub, lovely countryside home cooked meals. Plenty of choice. It seems there is often something going on, there was a jazz band playing the first night and I believe a quiz the next. Breakfast both days was superb. Initially it looked like it was only a full English or a fish dish as cooked breakfasts but you can ask for adaptations of this. The scrambled egg and the bread and preserves made on site are very tasty. Staff are really friendly, the bar was busy when we checked in as we arrived around 7, but it’s nice to see a friendly, busy pub and we were able to get some drinks and sit in the sunny beer garden before having some food. If you are having food here, sometimes the kitchen closes at 7.30 so it’s worth checking and booking with the pub. I’d also recommend pre-booking a taxi especially if you are going to a wedding or event. We can’t wait to return with our dog and enjoy the lovely walks nearby!
Nothing, had a fantastic stay!
Staff were very welcoming and accommodating throughout my stay. All food was simply exquisite - beautiful flavourings, really good choice and portion sizes! The hotel was quirky due to it's age which I loved. The location of the hotel was great, outdoor seating, gardens, and with walking opportunities close by. Very quiet location. Plenty of parking. Locals were also very friendly. As a female lone traveller, I felt completely safe throughout my stay.
The mattress was a little 'past its best' - lots of springs felt - however this did not affect my sleep. The shower took a while to 'warm up' - temperature/power was great to start with, but then it suddenly lost pressure and went freezing cold mid-shower, which you can imagine was a shock to my system! However, this did not put me off using the shower, and on other uses it was fine.
Location was ideal
The door had a massive gap at the bottom which is a huge fire risk and safety risk
Lovely location, nice to sit outside in the evening, and lots of classic cars about aswel
Decor was rather dated but it's an old building with lots of character
It was tired and needed TAC
Cleanliness lavking
Staff very friendly and food was good
It was a little dated and could do with a bit of a refurb soon
Lovely position and a serious record of growing and using local produce. Bravo for that. The vegetables were splendid, and their homemade jams and marmalade very appetising. Very friendly people, home brewed beer of high quality, and an excellent dinner.
The connecting walls between rooms are thin and need soundproofing. Stairs are steep, for those with restricted mobility. The kitchen should invest in a decent coffee machine - Nescafé lets it down.
Nothing
Everything, it is a health and safety disaster zone and the rooms should be condemned as they are not fit for purpose, the stairs are a death trap .I had to pay before we saw the room I was so upset we left immediately and I extremely disappointed in Booking.com as we have spent a lot of money with you this year so I will be seeking compensation.
Excellent breakfast (except for ?instant coffee). Friendly and helpful staff.
Room was a bit dated and not very spacious.
Traditional pub in a beautiful location.
A little tired.
Really lovely hospitality, welcoming team and a great spot to spend a night. The room I had was basic but brilliant value, the food was excellent as was the beer and I enjoyed the gardens and outside space. My experience was great from booking through to arrival and I was lucky to be there for a jazz night so got to hear some live music.
Location location location. On the banks of the Severn. Loads of outdoor seating and so great to watch so many classic cars driving past.
Rooms could do with an update. But beds were so comfortable and the shower was great.
Lovely hotel, very friendly staff.
Beautiful location , breakfast very nice
Shame no air con or fan as it was an exceptionly hot day
Staff, food and drink excellent
Building and interior could do with some lovely care. Leaves in breakfast area floor due to doors open. Attention to detail.
Authentieke kamer, pub, tuin Supervriendelijk onthaal en vriendelijke barman
Ontbijt was eerder vettig
Food was excellent
Bed was very uncomfortable. Rooms were dowdy and need redecorating
Quirky old building. Really comfortable bed. Food amazing.
Room a little tired. Towels too small.
Lovely location. Very comfortable accommodation. Delicious food. Friendly staff.
Food and drinks quite pricy.
Great position, very friendly and helpful staff. Good food and beer from their own brewery.
The bed had a foam mattress which was past its sell by date!
An old building with original features. The food and beer ( brewed on site ) were excellent. We had a problem with a leak in our room. The staff were excellent in dealing with the problem.
Steep stairs to the room.
Old fashioned pub, great beers and really good food. The place is enormous! OK, it's not the Ritz but we didn't need that. (who does?) Superb value for money I will deffo return!
Zero
Really interesting building. The room was lovely, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The food is absolutely amazing. We ate dinner as well as breakfast. As a celiac, I was catered for with care and attention.
The only quibble would be the bath towels were tiny.
Great old property, good atmosphere, very good choice of drinks including their own range of cask ales. ‘This’, ‘that’ and ‘t’other’. An interesting reasonably priced menu. The room was clean and comfortable, plenty of hot water. Yea and coffee making in the room with fresh milk available on request. This inn is perfectly placed if you’re walking the Worcestershire Way.

Location, Staff, welcome.
Breakfast was to little greasy on the plate. Vegi could have got replacements for meat.
Staff were lovely. Breakfast was great. This is a really nice old pub.
Could do with a new shower curtain.
The location is wonderful. We had a twin room in the new wing, views were stunning. Staff great and food (dinner and breakfast) good too. Great value.
Hotel somewhat tired but, bearing in mind what we paid, more than happy.

We booked a second night for B and B and evening meal.
This is our second visit en route to a further destination. A perfect stop in a wonderful freehouse pub who also brew their own beer. No surprise then that this pub appears in the Good Beer Guide and Good Pub Guide. Furthermore food is sourced from their own kitchen garden. Breakfast and dinner are excellent with top quality ingredients and perfect prepared by chef. Beautiful location deep in the glorious English countryside. A family business for over 25 years, the whole crew is friendly and welcoming. This is an ancient inn so the rooms and en suite are modest but perfectly adequate. Privileged to be here over there monthly Tuesday jazz evening. Outstanding musicians.
We booked a second night.
Character
Lovely location with very good staff.
Some bits looked a bit tired. But they are working on the property giving some of it a refresh.
The location was so peaceful, with fantastic views from our room. The staff were friendly and hospitable. Food was local and home cooked.
Staff, location Dinner and breakfast were all excellent. Home and locally made produce were delicious. Enjoyed watching the community activities with the Ladies Dance Club. A very happy evening!
A few parts of the Talbot need a little more attention, but this did not impact on our excellent stay.
Friendly staff. Beautiful scenery.
Shabby and run down. Below basic room in need of decorating. Food very expensive for a plate of grease. Eat elsewhere if you stay.
Location, food quality, cleanliness, friendly staff.
Dog friendly. Two areas of garden, a particularly long area beside the river Teme which was great for late night and early morning short walks. The food both at dinner and breakfast was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Steep stairs to bedrooms.
Great location off the main road with outdoor seating by the river. The evening meal and breakfast was exceptional.
The Talbot is set in a beautiful setting, lovely gardens by the river. Large snooker table, extremely dog friendly.
There wasn’t anything I didn’t like.
Went down to the Talbot to meet up with a load of friends for a 50th, they couldn’t be more accommodating and attentive. I didn’t have dinner there as we went to our friends for a bbq but if the lunch and breakfast was anything to go by I’m sure the evening menu is excellent!! The location is very quiet and lunch was taken in the beer garden by the river in the sun, idyllic! The beer from the brewery next door is fantastic, what more could you want. Definitely bookmarked for any other trips down that way.
Easy to find, ample parking. The staff were brilliant , so helpful , cheerful and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast and dinner was all fresh and mostly local produce of high quality. Thanks especially to Tom and Rob
This is primarily a 15th century building so it’s not a question we did not like but to just note the stairs to some rooms are steep and narrow. Just ask before booking to see if meets your needs. Even though I’m over 6’ it was ok.
Lovely location
Dirty, stairs were broken, shower didn’t work, mattress old and saggy, room filthy, pub is filthy and smells, would not stay there again if I was paid to.
Has a lot of history, the food was great, the staff were very helpful.
The stairs are pretty steep, but it is the character the property
Lovely little coaching inn with wonky floors, big rooms and fantastic food!
The TV wasnt working in my original room, butnthe staff promptly moved me to an alternative and were very helpful. Food was excellent, huge huge huge portions though!
Staff very helpful, food was lovely, great value
Great location close to Worcester. Breakfast and staff was lovely. Comfy bed. The bar and breakfast areas very oldy worldy and beer gardens were lovely right next to the river. Plenty of parking area.
Rooms were tired and could do with modernising.
Excellent breakfast and bar/restaurant meals Adequate off road parking Log fire Generally warm and welcoming
Key to the bedroom was difficult to operate
The food, the staff
Tv reception
The staff and food are amazing. A very friendly welcoming pub
Nothing
The location was fantastic, with beautiful walks around The Talbot and an incredible garden next to the river. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was fabulous, and the breakfast included surpassed expectations!
The bathroom was a little dated, with the shower practically taking off whilst warming up.
Outstanding in every respect. Keep telling friends and family what a great, welcoming and quirky find it was!
Nothing at all. It’s a brilliant authentic local pub experience with lovely locals.
Staff just great and a great breakfast
Slight update
Evening meal was delicious, good home cooked food. Great to have a bar downstairs with such a welcoming atmosphere. Views of the countryside, garden and river from our room was lovely. Staff were so helpful, they arranged for us to have an early check-in at midday. Breakfast was good too.
Maybe the stairs and corridor to bedrooms could do with redecorating and bath/shower updating.
