It was fairly remote but beautiful

It was a nice stay. The place is in good condition and it's comfortable. We had dinner at the restaurant and food was really good. However I expected more choices in the Breakfast service, like hot food (scrambled eggs, pancakes, hash brown) and higher quality cheeses. Also, was surprised that the indoor pool was cold. At this time of year, a warm indoor pool is really an expected option.

We spent one night there after our small civil marriage ceremony. Breathtaking location. Outside the golf season, so it was very quiet and intimate. Staff were super attentive. Dinner was exquisite. We can't wait to return!

Not many places make you feel like your enjoyment personally affects their job satisfaction. It's an oasis, if Quebec could have such a thing with its maples and lush forests, and we'll be happily returning.

Rooms are a little dated but very clean. We were on the second floor. A balcony would have been nice. The property grounds are beautiful & scenic & amenities including hot tub & massage was wonderful for our weekend getaway.

It had a lake and was in a lovely setting.

Quiet place

Lovely grounds

This is almost a magical place. Though advertised as a golf destination, the grounds are fantastic for walking, sightseeing, just being outdoors. With fall colours, it was sensational.

Site is amazing, hotel is huge yet calm, rooms are clean, bedding are comfy but interior swimming pool is ice cold in October and the food is not as good and really expensive for what it is. Overall, I think the hotel need major Renos to be back to his former glory but yet a pleasant stay

Been there twice thls year Beautiful country in the summer. Great walks outdoors . This time a few more layers of clothes but still gorgeous walks in fall colors . Indoors great meals and wonderful service by the staff. And Halloween decorations are great.

Very nice hotel. Nice to be. But, ask for some water while my son was thirsty. The Spa is not what I saw o. The web site. the Spa is something for home, not commercial. The pool is too cold, very cold. That was a shock. I have. Ever seen that.

There was coffee spilled in the lobby in the morning. We checked out the next day and it was still there. The pool area was dirty and had a cheese rind on the floor. It's a shame that the common areas aren't cleaner, as the lake and grounds are beautiful.

Le lieu est superbe, coin de nature charmant et reposant ; on a fait des ballades en forêt : génial. Côté activités carton plein ! Massages (super même pour les enfants), jacuzzi, piscine, badminton, basket, Ping Pong… J’étais déçu cependant par : - la nourriture et surtout le déjeuner - la literie du sofa -> ne peut être considéré comme un lit, on y dort très mal L’autre lit était très bien

The staff where excellent and the site was great. The food was really good and it affordable. The room are spacious

There’s an internal restaurant, however a few options that delivers (Dany Resto is one of them). I love the breakfast and the team is amazing!

The place is outdated and feels more like a big motel than a resort spa hotel.

Loved this property!!! so clean and nice, staff was friendly. So happy with our stay overall. only issue we had was we couldn’t get the wifi, it kept failing over and over again.

I stayed here 2 years ago and all was as expected EXCEPT for the dining menu! One of the reasons why I returned was to enjoy dinner, and I booked for two nights. I actually left the property and went down the road and bought a pizza😏 Last time I stayed, the mussels were out of this world! And so was the steak dinner with the best mushrooms I’ve had at any other fine dining restaurant. I’m a chef of 25 years, and the menu was the ONLY disappointment, including the breakfast menu, but that was still good for a complimentary breakfast. ** ( included with the cost of staying)** I did have to call the day after I checked out to have my $100.00 credit card deposit reimbursed. Just an honest review.

I am just in love with this gem! Decided on a whim to check it out with my boyfriend for my birthday and it did not disappoint. Beautiful property and gorgeous scenery. The room was clean and came with everything we needed! 10/10 would recommend!

Great break fast, staff were very friendly. It’s an older property but well kept.

We were pleasantly surprised since we had read some prior negative reviews that were way off. Every component of this 3 1/2 - 4 star establishment were more than satisfactory - the room, the dining, the great breakfast, the amenities, the cordial staff, the superb golf course. We highly recommend this place and will surely teturn.

Lobby very dark, gloomy. Needs decor accents to brighten space. Reception staff not friendly, too expedient. Rooms are clean and spacious. Restaurant menu outdated. Needs to be more refined, seasonal, regional.

We had a fantastic visit! Clean well maintained The staff SYLVIE, SLYVIE 2, CELINE, and JAQUIE, were absolutely fantastic people! We will go back for sure! Take road 50 to get there!!!! My gps send me on a bush road!

The resort was in a lovely location. Staff were friendly and helpful. Fine dining was not available. Breakfast was good.

Overall it was good. But because it’s a older hotel I think they need to renovate. The very small hotel soaps are way passed era they need to give a better amenities it’s awful and I only found 2 small packs of shampoo the morning I was leaving Cob webs around the windows outside. A little more dusting would be great But overall a nice stay

Very nice and peaceful place. The staff is friendly. Couple of activities available even after checkout. Included breakfast was full of variety (compare to classic continental). Definitely worth it! 😀

Beautiful grounds cleaned manicured peaceful. Service was extremely slow over 75 minutes of waite at the restaurant to ta our order food was ok but nothing exceptional. Pool is extremely cold not enjoyable for a swim.hot tub bot very accesable.pool area bot cleaned up very very slippery no towels ...we were told to usethw ones from our room.

J'ai récemment passé un week-end dans un hôtel absolument charmant qui mérite d'être recommandé. Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été séduits par la beauté de l'endroit, entouré de paysages magnifiques et offrant une multitude d'activités. Nous avons eu l'occasion de faire du paddle, du kayak, du pédalo et de profiter de superbes randonnées. Chaque journée était remplie de découvertes et de plaisir.La nourriture était un véritable délice, avec des plats savoureux et bien présentés. Le restaurant de l'hôtel a su ravir nos papilles à chaque repas. Les installations pour la baignade étaient également agréables, bien que nous ayons noté un léger manque de serviettes disponibles, ce qui pourrait être amélioré.Cependant, quelques détails mériteraient d'être ajustés pour une expérience parfaite. Les tapis dans le corridor menant à notre chambre dégageaient une odeur un peu désagréable, ce qui contrastait avec le reste de l'hôtel, si bien entretenu. De plus, l'accueil à la réception aurait pu être un peu plus chaleureux. Un sourire et un accueil plus convivial auraient ajouté une touche de confort supplémentaire à notre séjour. Malgré ces petits inconvénients, notre week-end fut un véritable succès, et nous garderons un excellent souvenir de cet hôtel et de tout ce qu'il a à offrir. Un lieu où l'on peut vraiment se détendre et profiter de la nature tout en savourant une cuisine délicieuse.

Great location, beautiful water future's..

It was a great experience staying in this place. The staff were so friendly and we loved the location near by the lake and the golf court.

I expected a higher standard from a restaurant associated with such a reputable hotel. I hope improvements can be made to match the ambiance with better food and service.

I stayed for 2 nights the housekeeper didn't show up after the 1st night. I asked for microwave and it was dropped in the floor infront of my door, I had to carry it inside the room. Next day didn't get clean towels even though I asked for it.

The property while a little dated, was beautiful. Next trip, for me, will be a golf trip with my son.

Les installations sont vieillissantes. Les appareils sanitaires sont tâchés et rouillés. La porte patio fait un bruit assourdissant et glisse difficilement et l’air climatisée ne fournit pas. Les portes sont à clé standard et difficiles à débarrer. Même les lits sont durs et les oreillers trop petits.

A lovely location, with lots of older classic charm. It was quiet and close to the lake for swimming and paddle boarding!

Beautiful property, large spacious rooms and suites, bbqs and picnic tables outside of ground floor rooms. Pool temp was cold. Continental breakfast was excellent with deli meats, boiled eggs and pastries as well as the usual cereals and offerings. Fresh fruit 🍎. Lauded berries which you normally do not get. By 4 the second day we had to ask for housekeeping and reception made a call to bring cleaner back to our room. There is a bar fridge, mic and dishes for 4, soap but no dish clothes or dish clothes to do the dishes. I would recommend this resort for adults and families.

The Hotel is old, it can use an upgrade, on many levels. The smell of when you walked into the room, was damp, musty . The elevator was cleaned with ammonia. The room was left a bit untidy The safe lock is was missing ,to be told at check out the key and lock was at the front desk??? There’s no safety latch on the door. If I would have been by myself, I wouldn’t felt safe. The pool was not cleaned. The hot tub was warm, not its usual temperature. There was no water dispenser. Today everyone is carrying a water bottle. Not impressed, will not return. Will not recommend

Unique location, charming hotel

Amazing set up in an excellent location.

Beautiful location with nice amenities / features (e.g., hot tubs, kayaks, pedal boats, continental breakfast, evening campfire). The rooms are dated. The small indoor pool is not properly heated. Although the staff who were working were friendly, they were clearly short-staffed and our room was not refreshed after the first night even though we repeatedly made the request.

Our stay at the hotel was absolutely wonderful. The staff were incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, providing a perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. The breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of options. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we would definitely stay here again!

The property itself was beautiful with waterfalls, tall trees and a clear swimmable small lake, with a dock to jump from. There were lots of boats including pédalo, kayaks and paddle boards to enjoy the lake. The included breakfast had many delicious options, usually cold but there was a golf group that ordered hot so we got the hot options too 😊 the indoor pool and outdoor hot tubs were well maintained and a great option when the boys were tired out from the lake. There was a massive gym with basketball, ping pong, air hockey and weights area. The room was dated but spacious. The service and food at dinner were left to be desired. There were 2 restaurants 5 minutes away from the hotel that were fantastic and well-priced (Resto 367 and the pizza place across the road). We will be back!

Nice property.

Everything was ok aside the breakfast. We didn’t have lot of choices and at the restaurant also. The place is quiet , clean , staff is available for all . I will recommend it but you need to find a way to eat

As expected, the hotel is fairly old and hasn’t had a refresh in awhile. Everything feels a bit worn and well used. Dinner at the restaurant was OK but overpriced for what you got. The breakfasts were underwhelming and served on paper plates with plastic cutlery. The views and location were spectacular.

So many activities offered and excellent service

We loved the Lac Carling and its beautiful views. Our room was comfortable and the electic charging outlets were convenient.

Our only minor compliant was that the pillows were uncomfortable. Short and thick, and not enough soap/shampoo for the shower. Other than that it's a fabulous location and the lake was beautiful

Lovely resort to relax and breath in nature

This place has the old time charm to it.The wooden doors and chandelier at the reception are a nice touch. Jacuzzi in the room is very nice, walkout door to the back and the BBQ grill was grewt as well. All in all it was great stay

I just loved it and I dream to come back.

Staff was helpful and professional. Food in the evening was excellent. Grounds and facilities around the lake were excellent. A hot breakfast with proper crockery, coffee and service would be better. Decor is ageing somewhat. Not enough parking.

Overall it’s a good hotel. Activities, food and nature.

I emailed to say that we were celebrating our anniversary and asked for suggestions. I never got a return on the request not even when I asked the front desk clerk. We arrived early so we asked for keys for the kayaks and were provided two keys that did not work on kayaks, it was frustrating. We ended up swapping with other guests to avoid a second trip to the reception. I feel that the property is affordable but is dated. The beds made noise, the air conditioner filter in room 232 needs to be changed, I needed my asthma pump. Most important, we reserved at the restaurant and just ordered salads with grilled chicken. My chicken was cold not warm and flies were all over our plates. I could not eat the salad too many flies. We explained this to the waiter who said yah I know.... so we just ate our desserts but we were charged for everything $116 for two desserts, soda and two beers. In general the property could use a little more cleaning the rooms felt old and unclean. We had spiders. The areas in general felt damp and musty. The life jackets are full of mold, we opted not to use them, the kayak seats are coming off, the jacuzzi was sort of working but would not heat up. The lake and grounds were beautiful and we really enjoyed the fire at night. If you are looking for economy, affordability with dated facilities, this is your place. If you are not picky, you will have a nice time. If you have asthma bring your pump.

This is a charming resort, perfect for all kinds of getaways from family fun to romantic and let’s not forget golf. The service was amazing, everything was perfect. The only reason I give it a three is because it could use a little updates.

From the moment we arrived all the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful and accommodating of our requests. We were impressed by the overall cleanliness of all areas of the resort and noted all amenities were well maintained. The continental breakfast was generous and had a great variety of fruits, cheeses, meats and pastries to choose from.

The staff was friendly and the barbecue option next to the lack was a plus.

Staff is amazing. Restaurant is really good. Golf course is pristine. The only thing lacking is the coffee in the room but besides that everything else is awesome will definitely stay there again.

Enjoyable stay. Nice staff. Comfortable bed and linens. Wonderful bathroom. Very large room. Had to ask for drinking glasses as there were none in the room. No decaf coffee provided.

Tout était parfait, sauf le servie au restaurant lors du souper. Le repas était bon sauf que le service était excecrable, lent, on en finissait plus… Par contre, lors du déjeuner le lendemain matin…wow! Quel buffet, la dame est super gentille, il y a un choix impressionnant, c’était vraiment bon. Bravo!

Very scenic

Hôtel Lac Carling in Grenville-sur-Rouge is a beautiful oasis. We were traveling with two tiny dogs and were advised in advance that we would get a first floor room with a sliding door, allowing easy access to the lawn for walks. We had a small, but lovely patio with tables, chairs and there was even a picnic table with gas grill! There were plenty of picnic tables, grills for any guests to make use of during their stay. The front desk had BBQ tools for guest use. They also had plenty of outdoor activities for families with children and teens to access to keep them occupied. And for the adults - golf! We were surprised to have free access to a number of kayaks, paddle boats, and SUPs on the teeny lake on the property. After a truly gorgeous sunset paddle, we were pleased to see a lakeside campfire had been started to watch the moonrise over the water. Outdoor hot tubs! They provided a lovely continental breakfast until 11 AM, which was appreciated since we don't set an alarm on vacation! The staff are bilingual, as most Québecois are, and everyone was very polite and accommodating. They gave every impression of being a team that enjoys each other's company and wants every guest to enjoy their stay. What more can you ask for? Our room was very clean and tidy. We were within reasonable driving distance from Montréal(1.5 hrs) for those who need a more urban adventure. *Pay attn to pro driving tip: avoid Scotch Rd at all costs* Want peace? Go to Lac Carling!

Right on the golf course for the golf lovers. Surrounded by nature, spacious rooms. Excellent breakfast options with many homemade items such as pastries, yoghurt parfait, lots of fruits every day, fruit salads, proteins cheese, eggs, cold cuts

Tranquil peaceful

This is a beautiful property. Unique and elegant with an excellent golf course. There is a spa and indoor pool as well. However, there is not a great variety of activities for families or those who do not play golf.

Hôtel ancestrale avec beaucoup de charme et un environnement champêtre magnifique. Petit déjeuné gourmand et délicieux plus qu’il n’en faut et de qualité. Très propre et spacieux.

srvise was slow and to much noisy loved the scenery.

Staff very helpful l with takeout order mixups and dealt favourably with consequences which were not their fault. Room was older and entrance door sticking and had to be slammed shut making it almost impossible not to disturb my partner and possibly others.

Though it was mentioned as free EV charging, we need to carry our own Charger. They will only provide electric outlet to connect. The property is very old but they tried their best to maintain the heritage. Staff were really friendly and accommodating. Chef was down to earth and was there during the whole of breakfast time to answer any of our questions.

Very lovely hotel, service was great, pool and jacuzzi area is fantastic, the food was delightful & the breakfast buffet had quality foods and lots of variety. Will,definitely go back. Highly recommended.
