Absolutely wonderful experience! We arrived late and were unable to contact the ryokan to let them know. We were feeling down because we thought we had missed the traditional dinner. But when we arrived, the ladies of the inn quickly got us checked in and had the kitchen prepare dinner right before it closed. And the traditional Japanese dinner was amazing! I cannot say how much I appreciate the thoughtful service.

The room has a lovely view of a large temple across the creek. Everything is well thought out. Both dinner and breakfast were amazing.

Magical stay,

Probably one of the best stays of my life. The stag was absolutely amazing, from start to finish. The attention to detail is impeccable, whilst not overwhelming. The room was wonderful, and the dinner and breakfast experiences magic. Overall, for the price of what would be a normal room in Tokyo, you get an outstanding experience. Lots of surprises, such as the massage chairs and public baths (all rooms seem to have a private onsen, ours certainly did. Our room was 4 different rooms (dinning area, lounge with large TV, bedroom and kitchenette / sink area) plus the outdoor onsen and shower (the only shower is by the onsen). It was so much better than any hotel we did in Osaka or Kyoto. Absolutely worth visiting for one or two nights.

Tout est magnifique dans ce Ryokan. Accueil personnalisé. Demeure magnifique. Chambre très spacieuse à la décoration soignée. Dîner délicieux dans uns salle privative. Personnel très attentionné. Bref une très belle découverte.

Ryokan exceptionnel. Une belle démonstration du savoir vivre et du raffinement japonais. Chaque pièce est un musée et le diner servi dans une petite pièce intime était magique. Nous avions une chambre « économique » mais elle était vraiment spacieuse et joliment décorée.

Easily the best place I stayed in whilst in Japan. It’s a ryokan and yet it has full 5 star hotel features. I chose a room with a private outdoor Onsen bath and kaiseki dinner option. Room was huge (75sq/m) with a separate bedroom, living room and sitting area with a wood burner. I started the fire and sat there for hours in between my private lovely hot onsen. There was also a vast public sitting room with massage chairs overlooking the shrine. Gorgeous. Mealtimes I looked forward to as it was gourmet level Japanese meal - everytime. I could not fault it at all. A big shout to Aki who looked after me - she was an amazing hostess 10/10 perfect. Hida furukawa is still a hidden gem with 2 sake breweries and old edo style street with wooden houses (now shops). This was my perfect stay and I will be back again and again.

Heerlijke ryokan met half pension. We hadden eem "torenkamer" met eigen onsen. Diner en ontbijt in een prive eetkamer. Alles fantastisch.

三年間で5回宿泊したエリア一の老舗旅館　一番の素晴らしいポイントは食事と歴史ある建物　それにスタッフの接客は今までに宿泊した施設でまた帰って来たいと感じさせる暖かい気持ちがとても感じられる老舗旅館です。　夕食は毎回季節を感じさせる懐石料理で素晴らしい内容ですべての料理が美味しいことに驚きました。お部屋も隅から隅まできれいに掃除がされていて気持ちが良い滞在が出来ます。四季それぞれの趣があるのでいつでも行きたい旅館です。

初めて宿泊しました。 お部屋もお料理もスタッフの皆さまも、最高でした。

An absolutely magical experience, Yatusankan blew me away with the level of service and the beauty of the property. It was like staying in a museum--my wide and i remarked several times how much it felt like being inside the movie Spirited Away. Staying here was a special highlight of our trip and I hope to come back

Fantastisk nydelig sted. Alt var helt prikkfritt, betjeningen svært hyggelig og hjelpsom, rommene og fellesarealene veldig vakre og historiske med mye kunst og utsmykning. Maten helt eksepsjonell. Onsen helt nydelig. Følte meg som en keiser.

Exquisite hotel, an oasis of calm, and one of the best experiences in Japan

I never leave reviews but this was truly unforgettable. We booked the private onsen room on the first floor. Simply incredible, the ultimate ryokan experience. The room, onsen, and views were beautiful. On top of that, the staff were outstanding. The dinner and breakfast in the private dining room were delicious. We were served a spread of local food that was unlike anything we have ever had. Truly the highlight of our first trip to Japan. We hope to return one day.

Uno de los mejores hoteles en los que me he quedado en el mundo. No lo supera nadie en el servicio comodidad y amabilidad. Solo tiene 20 habitaciones y como 1 colaborador por huésped!!!!

This place was amazing - a real treat. Recently renovated, we had a room that had it's own private bath which was perfect. My partner went down to the other baths and said they were great too. The dinner and breakfast were 5 stars and the staff were just as amazing too. The view from the room over looked a temple just beyond a stream/river and the town, with views of the mountains surrounding it. Very quiet area with an old town area nearby similar to what you find in Takayama but smaller and not as busy. We drove and our car was parked by their valet and bought back when we left. Apparently there is a shuttle service to the train too.

宿の全体の建築としての魅力、部屋や風呂、設備、の良さ、また、食事の美味しさはもちろんだが、スタッフの丁寧な対応が心地よく過ごせた一番の要因だったと思う。時間がなく飛騨観光が十分にできなかったので次回チャレンジするときにはまた泊まりたい。

料理がおいしかった。天気はあまりよくなかったけど、あまり旅行者が多くなく、のんびりとした雰囲気が満喫できた。

We stayed here for a night in a room with a private bathroom and shower. We didn't need it at all because the public bath facilities were so wonderful. We were here on a quiet weekday, so we often had the entire public baths to ourselves. The onsen was incredible - the water extremely clean. The provided dinner and breakfast were elaborate and delicious. Highly recommend!

女将さん自ら料理を配膳してくれたり、写真撮影サービスもあり、至れり尽くせりでした。 今回泊まった招月楼は明治時代の古い建物の方で、設備的には決して新しくないのですが、それが味です。近代的な設備をご所望の向きには新館観月楼や露天風呂つきの部屋もあります。

食事処は個室で、お料理、料理の出てくるタイミング、雰囲気、スタッフの方々の対応全て素晴らしかったです。

私たちの担当をしてくださった、木村さん、かわいい笑顔と的確な案内で楽しくすごせました。ありがとうございました。歴史ある建物とは知らず、予約しましたが、外観の歴史を感じさせる風情ある佇まいと、現代的にリニューアルされた設備の両方で満足な滞在となりました。料理もとてもおいしくいただきました。

ゆっくりと過ごすことが出来ました。 コロナの影響ということで露天風呂での地酒サービスが無かったのは残念でした。 露天風呂に行って初めて知ったので、事前に案内があれば良かったです。 朝食時に他の方の片付けをされており、呼出に気付いて頂けなかったのは残念でした。 料理はどれも美味しかったです。

One of the best Ryokan we have been. It was a great experience, especially for my sister’s family. The Ryokan is well kept and all the staff are courteous and helpful.

お部屋から桜が一番綺麗に見えるというコメントを見て、清華の間を予約しました。 少し満開には早かったけれど、お部屋の入り口に立った時に、窓一面に広がる桜に感動しました。 お部屋は足湯と檜の露天風呂付きで、常に温泉の水音が聞こえる中、足湯でお仕事をするのは最高に贅沢でした。 山の稜線から朝日が昇り雲が形を変えていくのを露天風呂から眺め、美味しい朝食をいただく。 お部屋の作りが本当に私好みで、段差を上手く使って、次の間や脱衣所、露天風呂への導線に気持ちが上がります。 館内のあちこちに歴史が感じられる余白があり、価値の計り知れない飾り物がさり気なく配置され、驚きと悦びが満ちてきます。 夕飯は蝋燭を使った粋な演出があり、器の美しさ、盛り付けの静謐な美しさでも感動します。 今まで泊まった日本旅館の中で一番好みのお宿でした。 また季節を変えて泊まりたい料理旅館です。

조용하고 평화롭고 고즈넉한 진짜 일본 전통 료칸의 느낌 그대로 언제라도 다시 가고 싶네요

是驚喜又完美的溫泉旅館體驗，侍者非常親切有禮，房間又大又舒適，種種擺設安排都見心思，讓住客有賓至如歸的感覺 浴場不大，卻設備齊全，有按摩水流，下午更設免費清酒（只限露天風呂），露天風呂放了鮮花，讓人心情愉快 旅館本身就是歷史悠久的建築物，裡面的攞設處處表現了這一點，就好像到了舊時的日本，到處都是精心的攞設，旅客們都大開眼界 休息室相當寬敞，更有按摩椅，書本和音樂，可按喜好轉換CD 我只訂了早餐，但早餐也非常驚喜，食材簡單，但擺盤，招待，環境，全都一絲不苟，完全感受到傳統日式旅館的細心和服務 是我曾到過的溫泉旅館之中最佳的，如再到飛驒高山附近，必定再次入住。

飛驒古川絕佳的日式旅館，建築本身就是遺產。推開窗便是本光寺。一泊二食及溫泉均屬上乘水平。強烈推薦

服務非常有善，環境舒適，傳統日式旅館，值得推介，不過此旅館不能超過晚上十點入住，因為會關門，所以必須留意，另外附近都是民居，位置比較靜。到便利店需要幾分鐘車程。

お食事、お部屋、サービス、スタッフの対応　一流でした。館内を足袋型ソックスで過ごすタイプも私好みで最高でした。一つだけ残念でしたのは、お風呂の匂いでした。木製の桶と椅子から　カビの匂いが感じられまして、改善頂けたらと、思いました。

We took their suite room as it was the only room available that was advertised with a hot bath tub. We were disappointed that the hot bath tub only had hot water flowing instead of onsen spring water. It was also not a feel good place as many areas around the hotel were not well maintained.

Expérience unique en son genre, non seulement en terme de logement mais aussi en matière culinaire (dîner et petit-déjeuner japonais et pantagruélique). Assez éloigné toutefois des grands centres (Tokyo, kyoto, Kanazawa), longs trajets.

Probably the nicest ryokan we ever stayed. They provide everything you can think of for free. Also Hida-Furukawa is absolutely the place you should visit at least once. It looked like a totally dead town walking to the ryokan from the station. We were absolutely wrong！

It was great experience! Staff is so kind, room condition was good. It's comfortable and relaxing. 요번 여행에서 료칸을 두 곳 다녀왔는데 여기가 더 만족스러웠어요~ 무척이나 조용하고, 프라이빗한 느낌이었어요. 대욕탕도 사람이 없어서 거의 혼자 썼네요 ㅎㅎ 조식도 맛있고, 히다 후루카와 자체가 조용하고 한적한 동네라 특히 부모님들이 만족해 하셨어요~ 다음에 간다고 해도 또 묵고 싶은 호텔이네요!

こちらの老舗旅館にして大正解でした。 ロケーションは静かな眺めのいい川沿いにあり、お宿は日本の真の趣きやおもてなしを至るところに感じました。外国人でも西洋の方が多いのもうなづけます。朝食は別の眺めのいいお部屋に通され御釜で炊いたごはんと目にも楽しいヘルシーな品々。お風呂も品良く素朴で心身ともに癒されました。

歴史ある素晴らしい旅館でした。 女将さんやスタッフの方々の対応も良かったです。 また、料理も最高です！

明治から続く文化財の建物はしっかりと手をかけて維持されています。飛騨を代表する素晴らしい旅館です。

The onsen is one of the best I have been. The breakfast and dinner are excellent.

從入住check-in到食物都很好. 可惜沒有訂晚餐. 一進酒店就有綠茶和甜點享用. 也幫我們送行李到我們的房間. 房間很舒適.環境清靜. 服務非常好. 員工也很友善. 早餐很豐富. 質素也非常好. 如再到飛彈.一定會再入住.

This was a small hotel with very friendly staff who were very helpful. We asked for extra futons (so one on top of the other) and that was very comfortable. we stayed in the seika suite which we loved. We had the set dinner for the three nights and the menu changed each night. The breakfast was large and varied. We’d love to come back.

The host was completely at our services, kind and it give you the complete traditional Japanese Ryokan experience!

The property is historic and full of interesting things related to old Japan. They were quite slow at registration. The food was lovely and the proportions were the right size It was lovely to have our own dining room The location was perfect, as was the onsen

Yatsusankan is located in Hidi Furukawa, a small quaint town about 30 min by local train to the north of Takayama. The town itself can be toured on foot in a couple of hours. The ryokan has a new and old wing. Guests can walk about in yukata within the ryokan and use the public onsens. There is also a private onsen at a small fee. The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff speaks some English and are very helpful and polite. Breakfasts are served in private dining rooms. We had the Japanese breakfast option and the portion was just nice We stayed for 3 nights and absolutely enjoyed the experience.

Exeptional experience. Beautiful old-styled ryokan, with modern comfort. Real hostmanship can be found in the details. Such as a wide choice in excellent meals (even western-styled breakfast service 😊), wonderful onsens with a complimentary late afternoon sake, multi-lingual much aattentive staff. You are the honoured guest, that's for dure.

I had an amazing experience at Yatsusankan for two nights. We arrived at around 9 pm and we were immediately lead to a room, where a manager came in and helped with us with check-in process and served us with hot macha and desert. Our luggage was taken directly to our room. The manager gave us a quick tour of the hotel to show us various resources of the hotel, including hot springs and a room with massage chairs. The manager appears to speak Japanese, Chineses and English, so communication was very smoothy. Our room was DAIKURO. The room was a large Japaneses style room with a riverside view. Our booking comes with two breakfast and a dinner set. All meals are in private room and foods are awesome. We will highly recommend this hotel to anyone likes Japanese style room.

The staff are very good. The location is very relaxing. Meals were outstanding, I wouldn't even bother looking for outside meals. We went to one place that was very highly rated and it was not in the same league as Yatsusankan in total experience.

We love this ryokan! Great room, services and food, It is an old histric building so if you want a traditional Japanese ryokan, this is the place!

The service at Yatsusankan is above and beyond anything we have ever experienced. The accommodations themselves are beautiful, the food is great, and Hida-Furukawa is a nice place to shop and eat. Highly Recommend!

Very nice receiptoon upon arrival and all staff are very polite, but only few can speak fluent English. And the meal is good.

Wonderful place and location. An easy walk to railway station as town. The town is great with canals and waterways running everywhere The food experience is amazing, beautifully presented and very fresh and tasty, lots of variety within the meal. The onsens are the best with indoor and outdoor Loved staying at this place

So far the grandest ryokan hotel I’ve stayed with, where everything was perfect, from we arrived, a bit too late, until we had to leave. It’s by a river with a view to a temple and many cherry trees, which were in full blossom when we visited in early April. Nothing could have been better. We’ll be back for sure!

Spent and amazing couple of nights here - such a great experience. The staff are superb, so polite and friendly. The Japanese meals are amazing, be sure to experience the dinner at least once. Also leave plenty of time and go with the Japanese breakfast. We opted for Western breakfast one day as were constrained by time to get to next location - in hindsight would have had Japanese and just eaten what we could as it is far superior. The onsen is really nice and not busy at all, so you get some privacy. Very relaxing after a busy day seeing the sights and there is complimentary sake in the evening. Yakatas and socks provided as well as other personal amentities for showering etc. I would really recommend this place and would love to go back.

We had a wonderful stay at Yatsusankan. From our arrival we were made so welcome. Our room was warm and comfortable with a view across the river to the temple. The Onsen is amazing. Sitting in the outdoor Onsen with the snow falling is a magical experience. Breakfast was exquisite with many different delicious dishes. I highly recommend a stay in Yarsusankan.
