Great location, very peaceful and private. The place has everything you need close to local beaches and shops.
The peace and calm of being in rural area but central to urban areas⁸ lots of birds nice hospitable host. As long as our dog stayed outside she was welcome. A great wind down with the smell of jasmine wafting in the windows.
Nothing to dislike
Excellent location - far enough into the country to enjoy the peace and quiet. Nice setting on an organic farm.
Shower wasn't very clean - shower head was almost fully blocked up due to hard water - had to clean the shower head to be able to have an actual shower. Bathroom could do with an extract fan as is fully steams up from the shower, leaving your towel damp. No Towel rail to dry your towel - expect damp towels your entire stay unless you have good weather to hang them out side. No lights outside so if you arrive in darkness then have your phone torch at the ready , due to it being rural then it is proper dark , nice for star gazing, hard to navigate and unlock your door.
Handy to where we needed to go for the weekend. Owner had left the lights on and the heater going so it was warm and cosy when we arrived at night. Quiet and private. Suited our needs.
Took a long time for the hot water to come through. The shower head sprayed water in all directions and many of the holes were blocked-needs a clean or replacement.
A peaceful and cute cottage.
The hostess Bridget was kind and obliging and had made the room so comfortable and welcoming with fresh flowers and lemons and limes for your drinks. The setting was delightful.

Pretty, serene, private location. Very comfy bed. Well stocked kitchen. Plenty of comfortable sitting spaces. Welcoming extra touches, like vase of fresh flowers and fresh lemons. Good internet connection.
Nothing!
Heerlijk rustig. Genieten.

It was adorable-right in the flowers, fruit trees and herbs! Place was compact and super comfortable.

We were messaged that the place was ready, when we turned up, the cottage was open and ready for us. nice and private with two beautiful dogs coming for a visit. Very comfortable bed, everything there for us, was a great stay
The cottage was super cosy and had lots of special little touches. Brigid is a lovely, welcoming host and her sweet dogs are so cute. The location was peaceful and beautiful, with citrus groves and lots of birdsong.
Beautiful peaceful cottage in the countryside of Haumoana. Very relaxing way to spend a couple of days.
perfect little place to stay!! bridget was lovely and so was the house. beautiful garden in a nice location, great pool and super comfy bed too. heaps to do and see in the area
wifi very unreliable, but it was nice to switch off from phones
Cute, cosy and private cottage in a rural setting.
Cosy cottage with privacy and beautiful views. Gas BBQ and induction stove top made for practical catering.
Waking up in the morning, opening the doors side and having a coffee in bed while listening to the birds and watching the scenery. Compact but everything we needed.
NA
Beautiful place. Loved seeing the horses outside! Peaceful.
Lots of cockroaches
It was a lovely get away for hubby and I . I stayed back Saturday and just hung out while the other half went to work . It was an absolute dream just laying in the sun coloring in watching the birds eating the fruit from the trees . Beautiful setting , nicely hidden .
Although you are hidden from view you definitely hear the traffic that goes past . Laying there enjoying the view and hearing a bloody car zoom past , other than that id recommend.
The location was great, we were in Haumoana for a family birthday and it was handy to everything we needed to do. The host was very friendly and helpful and the cabin was kitted out with everything we needed. Visits from the farm dog were also appreciated.
Nothing.
Very pretty and extremely well supplied little cottage. Located in a very private area surrounded by lemon trees add an herb garden. Approximately a 20 minute drive to Napier and Ocean Beach.
Beautiful surroundings, lovely patio to sit and relax
nothing it is just perfection
Bridget is very warm & welcoming . Bed extremely comfortable.Studio very clean & has everything you need. If you want to switch off & truly relax this is the spot.
Herb Cottage is a very quiet, private, well-appointed, charming cottage located 23 minutes from Napier and close to Havelock North, a booming town with a great variety of excellent restaurants. We loved staying in the orchard, visiting Napier on Art Deco weekend, and spending a fun evening at Meeanee Speedway
A fabulous well equipped cottage surrounded by vineyards and gardens. Bikes available with many paths nearby and pool as well.
Lovely little cottage, that had everything we needed. Very comfy bed. Private. Quiet location. Host made the stay nice and easy. Great communication.
A peaceful retreat, very comfortable with everything we needed. Kitchen very well equipped and excellent shower. Lovely deck with seats and privacy. Having the bikes was a highlight as we discovered a cycle track round the corner which was flat and through wonderful scenery.
More instructions about where bikes were, and couldn't find recycling bin. Brigid was really helpful when we met her and told us about a wonderful beach which we had a glorious morning walking on.
It was beautifully presented and neatly laid out. Everything was spotlessly clean, and very homely. The deck area is gorgeous, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The location was ideal, and it was easy for us to use the property bikes to get into Havelock town and some local wine estates. Will definitely be back again, but for a longer stay!
Nice and peaceful and Bridget was a nice host who greeted us and made sure all was fine.
It was a lovely little spot in amongst all the fruit. We really enjoyed our stay, it was exactly what we were after.
Peaceful and Private rural location
Nothing
relaxed, peaceful location.
could have had a TV as nights a little quite.
Perfect location for a relaxing couple of days exploring Hawkes Bay vineyards. Brigid was an excellent host and the cottage was perfect. Fresh oranges and lemons from trees in the garden were a bonus.
We enjoyed our stay at Herb Cottage..Brigid was very helpful. Lovely sitting outside in the late afternoon and watching the animals and smelling the lemon blossoms.
Lovely little cottage that had all the essentials for a comfortable stay.
A gracious host met me on arrival. A very comfortable, clean and tidy cottage. I loved resting in such a beautiful country setting. It was a very private space and i felt very safe. Easy road access to Clive and Hastings. I would stay again
beautiful location and gorgeous cottage and lovely host
Beautiful cottage, perfect location, gorgeous setting and excellent privacy
Nothing
Thoughtful equipped with all a sole traveler might need. Quiet and delightful environment.
Need some more hygiene work efforts, mostly on the washroom.
Great people to deal with thank you very much
Quiet, calming country location with tuis, fantails and other birds around the cottage. Magical. As well as tea and coffee, there were fresh eggs and lemons in the kitchen plus milk, butter, and other basics for cooking. The bathroom was spacious with lovely soft water in the shower. The host put the heater on before my arrival so the room was nice and toasty warm.
I didn't have as much time as I would have liked to enjoy relaxing in and around the cottage. I had to leave before 7.30am and return around 8pm most days of my stay! I didn't like not being able to stay longer.
Quiet location loved it
Quiet and had all we needed for a relaxing few days. It was delightful to wake to bird song and check in with the sheep. Great to be able to do our washing. Lovely to have eggs, milk and some essentials provided.
Lovely quiet country getaway near winies
The property is in a lovely rural setting, Small observation, would dismiss one set of outdoor furniture Inside would dismiss cane chairs & replace with bench/seat for keeping bags contained Very nice though 👌
What a wonderful stay at Herb Cottage! It is indeed surrounded by herbs! This cottage is on a working farm with multiple orchards and an extensive gardens. Our hostess had some eggs, fresh herbs, lemons and milk waiting for us. The space is small, but also spacious since the double doors open to a lovely deck with plenty of outdoor seating. We enjoyed breakfast out there every morning! There is no TV, and it wasn’t missed! The bed was comfortable and the shower great. We left the windows open at night and liked the cool night air and waking to birds singing. It’s not typical to have bug screens on windows, but we did have a couple big insects come in and screening would help with that (my husband quickly caught and disposed of them). We had access to do our laundry and a warm greeting during the day from the owner’s pup ~ We loved that; so friendly, and then she would wander off. Just checking on us! There are also 2 bicycles for use. We just didn’t have time for those between other visits in the outlying area. This a definite return place if we come back to this area of NZ from the states. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable stay!! *Make sure to note that there is a cleaning fee that is included in final amount.
Quietness, private, rural setting. Well-equipped and we were appreciative of the bonus eggs, lemon, butter and milk supplied.
Low door height for tall people and shower temperature/pressure was a bit fiddly to set to avoid a sudden cold change.
We loved our stay at this idyllic countryside cottage. Very peaceful and private. It was also lovely to meet the very cute dogs Stormy and Rosie. Great location, close to the wineries and close to the beach, where you can enjoy a nice sunrise.
Everything was perfect.
The cottage looked like the pictures which was nice. A very comfy bed. Having access to the pool was nice, this is located by the main house which is behind the cottage.
Beautiful cottage, wonderful host, lovely landscape
Everything was amazing, nothing to fault
This charming rustic, little cottage is a delightful change from hotels. You’re in the fields; sheep, horses and a lemon grove are outside your window. The kind host left us wonderful lemons and eggs. No screens on windows though so bugs do get in.
Our team member loved his stay here
The cottage was true ro the description and photos. It was very compact but well set out. Good shower and comfortable bed, and very clean. A lovely peaceful country stay.
The only drawback for us was that the internet was not strong or reliable and we needed this. I'd asked in advance so maybe it is usually better. It may not bother some guests but with no TV, we would have liked better wireless.
Wonderful little cottage with everything you need - private & romantic!
Great place for peace and quiet in a rural setting yet not too far from town
Private, cute, well appointed
It is not walking distance to anywhere
I was welcomed with a warm room and a warm bed upon arrival, Haumoana Herb Cottage was the perfect place to rest and unwind over the weekend! Warm, clean, tidy, a great shower and you wake up to look out the door at farm land and I could see even see some picturesque snow on the ranges in the distance. The cottage itself is located far away from the road and feels super private away from the main house. I will be back most definitely.
It was a wonderful little piece of paradise
Can't improve on perfection
Beautiful cottage in a wonderful setting, a really relaxing spot either after work or for a holiday retreat, i totally recommend Herb cottage.
Lovely surroundings, calm and peaceful, cute cottage with authentic decor and extra's like fresh eggs, limes/lemons, fresh pat of butter in the frig - lovely.
No TV. Rest was lovely.
Lovely space in a beautiful environment
The cottage was cosy and warm, nice setting, loved the privacy and location

Location was beautiful , countryside very peacefull. Not far from Hastings , Havelock Nth and Napier ,
we enjoyed everything .
Coy, private, rustic, quiet, pretty rural setting close to cycle track. Included bicycles available for use on trails. Nice of owner to offer garden produce and eggs and even pick up if we were tired of cycling.
disappointed that advertised views were obscured by vegetation. long grass was mowed day after we arrived which improved access. outdoor table and chairs covered in moss. outdoors needs a tidy up prior to guests arriving.
When we arrived, we checked Airbnb booking and directions were available to show route to Cottage. We were greeted with, open doors, fresh vase of flowers, bowl of fresh eggs, kuri.
Well, I loved everything about my stay at the cottage, if there's anything to improve on, it would be, to cut the lawn.
Beautifully presented, little cottage. Loved the tranquil surroundings, especially the sounds of the birds and farm animals!
Nothing, everything was perfect.
Very peaceful and quiet
Nothing
The bed and shower was amazing and the area was really peaceful with only bird sounds. The wifi was intermittent and there was no TV but it did not detract too much from the experience.
This wee cottage was quaint, very quiet and peaceful with everything we needed. A great place for an escape. Wish we could have stayed longer. Will recommend it to others. Thank you Brigid.
Quaint cosy country cottage. Our host Brigid ensured all basic supplies including eggs bread and a selection of condiments. We loved the quiet location. The only thing that marred our stay was the confusion Hotels.com caused with our reservation we had to find somewhere else for a night and we await a refund. Brigid had not been correctly notified and ended up with a double booking to contend with and this made us feel rather uncomfortable
Lovely stay at this peaceful little cottage. It's compact, but beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Cooking and barbeque facilities. Luxurious linen and a very comfy bed. So relaxing it was hard to leave!
Herb Cottage is a quaint, cosy and peaceful property. The kitchen is well resourced and the host left eggs, bread and butter which was a lovely touch. The bed is super comfy. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
Fantastic rural cottage, peaceful and relaxing, great location, 😀
It was a very cute little hidey-hole where we could escape from the rain on cold days and served as a great base for outdoor activities on the good days. It is very handy to the cycle trails and beach as well as being relatively handy to Havelock North. Herb Cottage is well named. There is a great selection of herbs just outside the door, and it is well supplied with cooking utensils and equipment to turn out a tasty meal if you're wanting to eat in.
