Friendly staff. We had. Dinner and breakfast. Food was good and good value. Room was spacious and well equipped.

Bath with hand held shower. Just awkward for us older folk.

Five Star food rating. Evening meal in particular (Indian dish) was delicious. Staff exceptionally friendly, professional and accommodating. Lovely gift left in room to mark a family occasion.

This hotel is quite dated and the staff are working hard to upgrade it. We knew this before arriving so no surprises. Hope they get the local support necessary to help achieve their goal.

We ate dinner at the restaurant and it was delicious. The room was a good size.

Last minute booking for us, the staff was really friendly and helpful. We got a bigger room then the one we booked which we were happy with. Food was ok. We will be booking g again soon.

Our room could do with an update. Toilet sounded like a tractor when you flushed it but we didnt let it bother us. The food was ok. The location is 40mintes away to shop or garage, so I would advice to bring snacks or lemonade with you if you would like a munch in bed.

We twijfelen of we moesten boeken gezien de rating hier, maar qua locatie kwam dit het beste uit, dus besloten we de gok te wagen. Geen verkeerde keuze. Prachtige grote kamer. Badkamer was wel zwaar gedateerd maar was schoon en alles functioneerde. Vriendelijke eigenaren en we hebben daar een heerlijke curry gegeten

Wir vermuten dass das Hotel erst kürzlich übernommen wurde. Manche Abläufe waren nicht ganz perfekt. Insgesamt hat das freundliche und engagierte Personal das mehr als wett gemacht, Das enthaltene Frühstück bot mehrere Optionen und war reichlich. Die Speisekarte für abends bot interessante Variationen bis hin zu ausgezeichneten Curry-Gerichten.

Hotel needs upgrading but for one night just to sleep in the there is ok.

Freundliches Personal. Durfte mein Motorrad hinter dem Haus sichtgeschützt abstellen. Zimmer-Upgrade auf ein größeres Zimmer erhalten. Zimmer ein wenig an den Kolonialstil erinnernd eingerichtet. Zimmer war sauber. Restaurant direkt im Haus. Sehr gutes Frühstück.

Das Hotel ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen und hat etwas Patina. Es liegt außerhalb der Stadt direkt an einer Straße. Badezimmer machte keinen einladenden Eindruck. Zimmer groß aber ziemlich dunkel.

Nous avons réservé au dernier moment et avons été bien heureux de trouver le Lanterns hotel. J'ai lu bien sûr les avis avant de réserver, certains élogieux, d'autres très critiques. J'ai trouvé ces derniers injustes. La famille qui a apparemment acheté cet hotel abandonné il y a environ 8 ans a dû tout rénover, probablement de leurs propres mains et avec leurs moyens, mais l'hôtel est très grand, les chambres également, j'imagine, pour avoir rénové une vieille ferme viticole, le temps et l'engagement que cette famille y ont mis. Je les félicite donc, les encourage à parfaire leur rénovation, et leur souhaite que leurs efforts soient récompensés. Il semble que ce soit le cas car il y avait du monde lors de notre passage d'une nuit. Je les remercie pour leur accueil parfait, leur coolitude et leur sourire, l'excellent et presque trop copieux repas (nous l'avons choisi indien), et la très grande chambre fort agréable à l'arrière, donnant sur le jardin. Nous avons très bien dormi ! L'emplacement de l'hôtel est très pratique car nous avons pris le Shannon Ferry le lendemain matin pour continuer notre voyage vers le nord.

I loved everything: the comfortable room, the excellent breakfast, and the staff, who were all very kind and attentive.

Yes.on entering the premises the our side looked drab and dull . Inside the foya it was scarey with religious statues , I asked the receptionist what was that about and he said everyone? He escorted me to our room 110 unlocked the door with a key 🔑 the room had a double bed and a single bed. I noticed a smell of mold and damp. I was trying to turn on the TV but no remote 😐 so I tried manually and got nothing only crackling. We went down to restaurant for dinner and asked the server about remote for TV . The management apologise and said that he would sort it out. Dinner was lovely but slow serving. Got back to our room and TV the same not sorted. The bathroom was dirty with mold every where on the tiles and floor. The double bed was a large single very uncomfortable and the single bed was like a trampoline the noise was shocking. The mattress on both beds were moldy and dirty .Breakfast was good only on the beans was a fly 🪰 I nearly got sick. We went into Ballybunnion on Saturday for the day lovely . On our return, I asked the boy at the reception for a drink at the bar and he said he was underage for serving ?? So I asked him was there anyone else there to serve and he said no, continues to play his game on his phone 🤔. I went looking and found a bar man outside. We got out drinks . The manager came and said he had found remote for our TV. We got back to our room and TV was no better.

It just needs some TLC can see some great potential for the place. More seating outside to enjoy the wonderful weather we're getting. A bit of updating on the bedrooms, and the shower could do with some fixing up

Absolutely loved our stay. The bed was devine. 4 post bed. I could stayed there for ever. The staff were so lovely. Breakfast was incredible. Freshly squeezed orange juice. I will come back. Can t recommend it enough. ❤️ 😍

We recently stayed at this hotel and came away with mixed feelings. The biggest positive was the staff, who were genuinely lovely, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. The views were also beautiful and made for a very pleasant setting. Unfortunately, the hotel itself is quite dated and in need of refurbishment. While our room was large and generally clean, there were many areas that needed painting and maintenance. The four-poster bed had net curtains draped over it, which felt old-fashioned rather than charming. The window in our room was broken, and there were no toiletries provided. Dinner was just average. We were the only two people dining in the restaurant, yet our order was still incorrect when it arrived. Breakfast the following morning was particularly disappointing. I ordered poached eggs, but they were undercooked. After sending them back, the replacement was no better. It's such a shame because the hotel has great potential. The staff were excellent and the views were lovely, but the standard of accommodation, maintenance, and food did not match the level of service we received from the team.

Direkt an der Hauptstrasse. Trotz geschlossenen Fenstern sehr lauter Verkehr. Nicht sehr sauber, kein Frühstücksbuffet, nur wenig Auswahl.

Good location and helpful staff. Breakfast was okay but a bit oily. Fair value for the price, though the place feels a bit tired and could do with updating. Unfortunately, the hairdryer in the bathroom and the iron in the room were both not working.

They kindly offered us a choice of two rooms as I asked for a quiet room as we're troubled sleepers, and we were able to pick one of them. But other than that, not a lot.

Very dated & tired. I could feel every move my husband made during the night on the mattress, I ended up trying to sleep on the floor. They offered us a packed sandwich as an early start breakfast, but we politely declined. Their children were running up and down the corridor and were behind the reception desk.

Good service and was very reasonably priced, good place to start the north and northwest part of the full kerry coast experience. I can't fault the hotel or the staff and they do their best for the customer. I would love to see the hotel getting a lot of regular bookings throughout the year unfortunately its seasonal and a quieter in the off season, the hotel game is hard and the staff do their very best to provide a genuine experience.

On arrival it appears that the hotel is closed. When entering the reception area you're met by an overwhelming smell of incense. The reception area is dark and dingy. However, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were shown to a room that was labelled as "deluxe," however that was a huge overstatement. There were cobwebs on the windows and electrical sockets hanging loosely from the wall. The bath was near collapsing during washing and it leaked water all over the tiles, which we cleaned up ourselves with the towels. When cleaning the water up, the side panel of the bath came apart and revealed rotting wood and mould underneath it. We put it back together again. The bedroom had a damp smell as did the corridor leading down to the bedroom. There was incense mixed into this smell also, as various bits were burning on sills down the corridor, which are possibly burning to mask the smell of mould and damp. The corridor also had random bits of personal equipment that were just left lying around and also shoved into a corner. The dinner that night was really good, could not fault it. Enjoyed the pool table afterwards. We slept fairly well that night, bed was comfortable. Went for breakfast the following morning and I had to spit out glass that was in my poached egg. The lady that had cooked it was apologetic and genuinely mortified. The manager however appeared apathetic. Repeatedly said he doesn't know how it got there and that it has never happened before. Presented with a defensive manner. Made us feel like it was somehow our fault and that we caused this inconvenience. He said to give a call again and that we can have a free night's stay. We will definitely not be doing that as the place is going to cause harm to someone. It has potential but is clearly poorly managed.

We stayed one night last week. It was a very enjoyable experience, the owners are extremely friendly and helpful. They’re knowledgable about the area too. There was an incredible menu in the restaurant and it was obvious that everything was cooked to order. I had a steak and I’m still dreaming about it! I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Lovely relaxing ,clean ,best customer care ,and the food wow just wow ,first night had lamb curry ,next night there lantern steak ,yummy ,found a place to be having my steaks ,,all in all great experiece i recommend specially for families .

There was quite a strong smell of tea candles at times in accommodation area. Not to my liking.

De douchekop was een beetje gammel, moet nodig gerepareerd worden.

Trevliga indiska ägare. personligt inrett. Bra restaurang med bla mycket god indisk mat. Fanns meny med andra rätter också. Bra frukost där man kunde välja olika varianter med stekt mat etc och en otroligt god färskpressad apelsinjuice. Sängen var.fantastisk med sänghimmel i snidad mahogny.

Inget att klaga på alls.

Couldn't fault it to be fair

What can I say, escalated relatively quickly. seemed pretty ok at first, paid on booking so check in was easy, guy was a little odd showing us to our room but thought nothing of it at the time until seeing other reviews realised it wasn't in our heads. Didn't mention check out time or anything so would assume it was 12, apparently its 11. Black Mould in the bathroom was slightly concerning but looked like it had been treated, used the toilet and had a shower, floor got wet so assumed it was the shower....... the next morning used the toilet and realised there was water flowing on the floor, turns out it was coming from the pipes at the back of the toilet, when checking out we alerted the owner to this who turned from quite pleasant to an unpleasant aggressive and Extremely threatening person. Completely insane. Would AVOID at all costs!! .. i have attached a photo and have a video for evidence contrary to what the owner will probably respond similarly to another site which has the video posted and he ends up trying to slander me instead... Bed was noisy and has clearly been repaired badly, cobwebs all over the room, Stay anywhere else but here, literally better service in a hostel.

Bijzonder vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel.was op fietsvakantie en mocht de fiets in het hotel zetten. Daarnaast bijzonder lekkere Indiase curry gegeten in het restaurant en s’morgens een goed ontbijt. Wat mij betreft een aanrader voor fietsers op de groene ronde van Ierland.

Sanitair is enigszins gedateerd.
