We had a Meal with relatives from America, it was great, i Highly recommend the Ox Cheek if its on, the Staff were really nice ltoo
it was fine
Staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. Would recommend and will book here again. Thank you so much.
Schönes Zimmer, sehr gutes Frühstück. Großer kostenloser Parkplatz. Bushaltestelle für den Bus nach Oxford Zentrum direkt vor dem Haus. Uriger Pub mit guter Küche. Sehr nettes Team, guter Service.
the food was excellent
the room was at the street and it was not possible to air the room without opening the window which felt unsafe
Bed and breakfast excellent
Breakfast was lovely, what you would expect. The room was clean, bedding comfortable , lovely shower
The room needed updating, carpet was thread bare in places, mattress was old,
Convenient to the motorway but just far enough out to be peaceful
Nothing really
Friendly helpful staff and good food; convenient for Waterperry Opera
The location was great, access to public transport right outside. The staff were very pleasant and the food very good.
All good
Traffic noice
Lovely location. Accomodation was clean and comfortable and the staff and owners where lovely.
Nothing
Best sleep I’ve had away from home
It’s in a quiet village but has regular early and late busses to thame or oxford city centre
Liked everything
A lovely old pub with lots of atmosphere. Nice bar area, dining area and extensive garden where you can also have your meal if you want to. Our evening meal was very good. We can recommend the fish and chips and the pork tomahawk! Breakfast was also excellent. Very good location for us, close to the motorway but not so close as to hear the motorway traffic. It is on a main road and so there was some road noise but we were not disturbed by this. Excellent free parking on site. Very dog-friendly. Our room was in a separate block which houses a number of rooms. This meant that we were not disturbed by other guests.
Nothing really
Fijne plek op doorreis

It was perfected located for visiting the surrounding area. The hotel room were in a separate building just a short walk from the pub which served excellent food
Sjovt autentisk sted med sødt og hjælpsomt personale
Det ville være dejligt med aircondition. Vi var der i en hedebølge.
The rooms were in a separate building next to the main pub. My room was a good size and had an en-suite bathroom with a walk in shower. The bed was very comfy and despite being set on a busy road, traffic noise wasn’t a problem. I ordered a meal which was brought to my room. The food was very well cooked and tasty. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast the following morning was also of a high standard. I’d stay here again.
Nothing of note to report.
Great place.Superb team running it.Good food.Highly recommended
Nothing to dislike.
Exactly what it says on the tin. Comfortable country pub, rooms spotless, food good & real ale on hand pumps. Easy access from M40, plenty parking. Staff were great, very friendly. Owners threw in a “large” breakfast in the morning-excellent. Good value.
It is on the main road but even with windows open traffic noise was not an issue until a police car went past with full blues & twos at 5am. Bad luck I guess.
Perfect for a visit to Oxford with the bus service outside right into central Oxford
All the staff were friendly. It was all clean and tidy. Great value for money.
Nothing
Dawn, Stuart and all the bar and restaurant staff were amazing. The room was lovely with nice little extras. The food was delicious and good value.
Nothing.
Accommodation was very comfortable and user-friendly. Staff were friendly and helpful. We felt welcome.
There was only one thing. The weather was exceptionally hot, and a bottle of red wine that we were served was at about 28 degrees C. We did manage to get some ice, to bring it back to a palatable temperature. The proprietor is now aware of this, and keen to sort out such issues.
Staff fantastic
Excellent food and service.
The room were very hot and we could not open windows due to road noise. To be fair, fans were provided and it was incredibly hot!
Sehr schönes Zimmer im Nebenhaus des Inns. Super Essen. Haltestelle für den Bus nach Oxford direkt vor dem Haus. Fährt halbstündlich und man ist in einer halben Stunde in Oxford mittendrin.
Fabulous staff and restaurant
Room not serviced daily
only thing wrong was the noise from the road staff were very good
From the moment we arrived at the Fox and Goat the staff were excellent. Very helpful and polite. The young woman who booked us in even carried the suitcase upstairs for us as I have a crutch. Breakfast the next day was excellent. Would 100% stay again.
Maybe a a few more tea bags! Lots of herbal read and not quite enough ordinary. But that's just a personal preference! There wasn't anything we didn't like about the stay.
The room was clean and comfortable. We were very close to the restaurant.
The car park was directly outside our window. We would have like a chair to sit and watch TV.
Lovely room , very clean and well equipped. Great value.
Nothing
So I booked our parents in as this was close to our wedding venue. They loved it. They had food on the night before our wedding and breakfast on both mornings of their stay. They were all very happy!
The owner was so accommodating!! The room was really generous in size and impeccably clean. All the staff were brilliant & breakfast was delicious!!
Lovely people. We were late but Grace and Co looked after us brilliantly
Breakfast was tasty but minimalist
Great Hosts clean and comfortable room with fresh milk in fridge

Friendly staff, good food and comfortable rooms
Breakfast was quite basic, no juices. No cereals beforehand. The cooked breakfast was good.
Nice staff, very helpful. Restaurant was busy and good Rooms warm and very good shower.
The breakfast was limited to one coffee. A very tiny piece of dry bacon with the rest ok. Nothing else to spoil a nice place.
Nicely built rooms adjoining the pub. Very comfortable.
Food finishes at 20-30 and pub closes at 21-00. Est before you arrive if you are checking in late
Friendly approach of staff. Good food
Quiet little village staff lovely as always . Food in pub is like a 5 stay restaurant good bus regular bus service to thame and oxford
Liked everything
Lovely breakfast with obviously quality ingredients. Lots of outside seating to make the most of the wonderful weather. Friendly and helpful staff. Good parking and a ground floor room.
A shelf to store toiletries in the shower room would have been useful. Sockets for hairdryer close to mirror and better lighting by mirror would have been appreciated.
Rien.
Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice. It was served in a quiet area.
Nothing. They were extremely flexible about timings, offering service as late as 11.00am which was perfect for our needs.
Well appointed room, tastefully decorated. Excellent food for both dinner & breakfast from comprehensive menus, served by efficient, friendly staff. High standard of cleanliness and hygiene. Close to M40.
Nothing to dislike about it.
Clean and comfortable room
Basically in a car park but no problem for a one night stay
Fabulous gastro pub with accommodation. Staff were really great. Owner was brilliant. Food is unbelievable. Really good. It genuinly is a hard to beat place, nestled in beautiful Oxfordshire. Oh, and the breakfast was awesome.
I cant genuinly think of anything. There were no problems.
Met up with 2 other couples. Great location for exploring and walking locally. The property is dog friendly, really understand your needs, they are dog owners. Rooms and bar dog friendly. I am coeliac and they fully understood GF too. The village hall and playground is across the road to exercise dog and locals pick up after dogs. Very clean.
Nothing to complain about.
Confort, accueil, style
ALL Staff were very polite & very helpful. Evening meal - Best pie { Homemade Steak & Ale } in a restaurant / pub / hotel that I have ever had, absolutely superb, rest of evening meal food was also very, very good - Scallops were delicious. Breakfast again was excellent { Perfect Poached Eggs } Check out time off 11.00am is a good time, { Too many places do 10.00am } Would definitely stay again --
Thought nightly B&B rate of £125 was just a little bit high { £110 - £115 would be fairer } but still not a bad price for the area. No plug in sink so could not fill sink with water, no plug socket on wall behind dressing table to enable hair dryer to be used
Very clean and comfortable thank you. Friendly and good value for money
It was all great for the value for money. It's not on the luxury end but it's good enough and clean. I was quite cold so pulled out more blankets which worked. The tea coffee facilities were fully stocked - you get milk in the fridge but no mineral water so bring your own or ask at the pub before 9.30pm
Handy location just off M40 as we were travelling further south the next day. Lovely comfortable inn, bedrooms separate to main pub which was good. Extremely friendly staff. Excellent food. Felt really comfortable there.
Nothing
Convenient location as not many places to stay in area. Friendly staff.
friendly staff good food
Good coffee.
Problem smell inside and outside room at time of visit. Too much (marquee in garden, camper van park on hardstanding to rear, small piece of garden left next to noisy road) squashed in to too little space.
It was a Very hot working weekend for my sister and I so we were so please to see a fridge and a large fan in the room. I was clean and comfortable, the food was great and a perfect location for Waterperry Gardens.
Nothing
Easy to access with plenty of parking. The owner was helpful and attentive, making us feel valued as customers. The accommodation looked really attractive outside with well kept hanging baskets, and the room was spacious, clean with good attention to detail. We had the pie in the restaurant, really tasty and good value.
Good value
The pub was spotless the staff amazing the food yummy.
We arrived at 1.30 on a busy Sunday. Nathan greeted us and showed us our room. He made us feel very welcome. We were at a family party - the food and service were exceptional. A wonderful stay in a clean, well appointed room, topped off by a delicious breakfast. You'll definitely want to leave a tip - so take some cash!
There was not one thing to dislike.
Very clean, warm and comfortable. Great food in the evening and fabulous breakfast.
Clean and well presented with everything we needed. Good car park area Exceptional staff - friendly, cheerful and professional.
What a delightful find. Beautiful.
We arrived at the Fox & Goat as they were about to close for the evening, the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating despite wanting to go home after a long day. The landlord, landlady and their beautiful dog Rocky came over to say hello and were genuinely interested in the conversation. The room was beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable with a kettle, fresh cold milk in the fridge and tea / coffee so we could have a hot drink in the morning. For the price it was well worth it whilst visiting family over the festive period. The only constructive feedback I could provide is that we couldn’t work out how to work the extractor fan in the bathroom, which will eventually cause damp (showing a tiny bit on the ceiling), but would definitely recommend
Lovely room, fresh milk in room & good breakfast.
Could do with some new pillows.
Staff were very friendly. The food was very good and reasonably priced. The room was spotless, a great size with lovely ensuite. The blinds and curtains are great at not letting the light in and very little sound from other rooms.
Bed for us was uncomfortable. The road outside is very busy so can be quite noisy.
Very nice staff, good shower
The Fox and Goat was absolutely great. Our room was exactly as expected - clean, warm and nice - with some lovely extra touches like a little bottle of fresh milk in the fridge (not those horrid packets of UHT). The food was really good - a wide variety of choices on the menu from pub classics to daily restaurant-style specials. The pub itself is cozy and comfy. What really sets this place apart though is the people. Every single member of staff - and the owners - go out of their way to be welcoming, helpful and friendly. They are all genuinely lovely caring people and it makes a huge huge difference. We loved them! I strongly recommend the Fox and Goat and we will definitely go back.
Comfortable room, nice and clean. Very good food in restaurant.
Bathroom was cold, it would not have been if we had been able to work out how to turn radiator on. Maybe put clear instructions near the radiator to explain how to do it?
Nice room lovely breakfast friendly staff
Quaint comfortable friendly
Too many dogs in bar
The staff were excellent as was the service. The room was good.
The breakfast was disappointing- limited choice and no fruit. Portions were small. Instructions on use of the shower would have been helpful/
Easy to find, lots of parking, rooms where lovely and warm, showers were hot and powerful, beds very comfortable.. The food was exceptional. Breakfast was perfect and consistent every morning. The steak and ale pie and mixed grill were both delicious. The staff extremely polite and friendly. Grace stopped eating her lunch whiles on her break to help serve as the bar was a little busy. 100% putting the customer first. Thank you for a great stay.
The main road is quite busy and a little loud at times.
Room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, as was our meal in the evening.
Really friendly staff. A lovely pub with great looking menu
Very friendly and helpful staff, good food, comfortable, clean and convenient accommodation .
Comfy, big room, bar staff lovely.
Bit of noise from road and cars on closing time, but it's a roadside pub so to be expected. Security of window on ground floor on a hot night, right by pub car park ( for solo traveller, could improve with a security latch maybe)
Staff in restaurant were friendly for evening meal
Location of room across courtyard. On Day of leaving it was pouring down. I phoned reception and asked if I could leave key in room so as not to get soaked. Very off hand and said no I had to hand in, in person. The man’s sarcasm behind the bar was not lost on me. Also didn’t like cheap air freshener blocks in bedroom and plastic flowers.
Had a lovely stay @ The Fox & Goat. All the staff were friendly & very efficient & worked as a team to make our stay memorable. The room was large & exceptionally clean & food was great
There was no complaints at all
The pub has comfortable accommodation, a lovely bar and restaurant with good food in the evening and at breakfast. The staff are friendly, energetic and enthusiastic. A real joy to stay!
Having the fridge in the room made a big difference
The matress could have been a bit more comfortable, maybe needs replacing. Bit to much give to it. My husband had a poor nights sleep, I was ok though.
Great service and really good food
Nothing
Friendly and attentive staff, always cheerful despite often being very busy. Rooms were well appointed, very comfortable and quiet despite being on a busy road. Money well spent on noise insulation. Excellent food with good variety in the menu. Book ahead as it’s clearly popular with the locals Great transport link to Oxford with a bus service running by the door.
Nothing to speak of. Parking can be tight depending on when you arrive.
quiet and convenient, staff adapted to our changing plans which was really appreciated as we had to change the booking last minute. They also delivered breakfast the night before as we were leaving early which was really appreciated.
We were told breakfast would be delivered the night before at approx 8/8:30 however they delivered it at approx 9:30 when we had gone to sleep. However, we understand it was a last minute, unusual request due to unforseen circumstances on our part so we cannot complain.
