It is a wonderful well kept, immaculate manor and grounds, and generally everything was fabulous from the Valet to the Reception staff, the room facilities and comfort.
Considering this hotel is 'With 4 AA Red Stars, it is one of the top 200 hotels in the country and offers delicious award-winning food'. Both the evening meal and breakfast were overall, disappointing. We were hurried to order our dinner choices while we were taking drinks (which took a long time to be served) in the bar before our reservation, only to find we were the only people in the restaurant for a good half an hour of service. The dinning room was uncomfortably laid out and seemed to be very dated. At dinner; the cod which was ordered by one of our party (who is a Red Seal, Michelin trained chef) was sent back as it was over-cooked only to be told by the Maître d', that ‘that was the way chef cooked it’ – all the other food, especially the salmon was wonderful, we did not stay for dessert. At breakfast; a Mimosa was ordered, but the server did not know what that was which seems surprising in such a well established restaurant.
The hotel is absolutely adorable, and the room was very comfortable. We also really enjoyed having breakfast at the hotel. Overall, we had a wonderful stay!
It’s better to have your own car, as it was difficult to find a taxi in the area.
Staff were pleasant although no information was given on arrival on the location of the restaurant, bar etc.
We could hear the occupants of the room above walking around closing doors, better sound proofing required. Service at dinner was slow. Hotel location is down small single lane roads and is not in walking distance of restaurants, shops or places of interest. But it quiet with nice gardens.
Great location. Restaurants nearby.
Day 1 reception wasn’t able to answer where we get on Viking Cruise. Day 2 reception much more knowledgeable.
A beautiful character Hotel
Excellent hotel, quiet location, staff very professional and friendly.
Extremely friendly staff Nice quiet location not like the over crowded villages but also close to these crowded villages if you want to visit Rooms were clean and comfy. It was spacious for our family of four The outside area is beautifully cared for
Since the restaurant closes early we had to bring few snacks for the kids from the supermarket, the problem is that there was no fridge to keep them over night and no ac in the room so we ended up throwing a lot of food
Excellent breakfast, lovely selection and 10 out of 10 staff
Staff could have showed us around on arrival.
Breakfast was amazing and the grounds beautiful. Staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. Can't wait to return.
Nothing
Excellent bathroom with easy to use shower and good lighting. Comfortable beds. Pleasant staff.
Down some ver narrow lanes.
The setting, the history, tastefully decorated rooms ( not too modern or garish), very peaceful.
Nothing!
Excellent kippers
Location and setting is perfect , food was very good , room lovely
Disappointing issue with a bottle of champagne sent to our room by our son as a gift , he was asked if he wanted fla card with a message which he gave but which wasn’t with it . When the receptionist showed us to our room she welcomed us and said congratulations on our anniversary and pointed us to the champagne and said we like to celebrate our guests special occasions , we took this that the fizz was complimentary , which was a lovely gesture , this has obviously left us feeling very embarrassed as we didn’t thank our son and have no idea why we would have been lead to believe the hotel was giving us champagne . Its spoilt what was otherwise a lovely stay and obviously our son is disappointed we didn’t thank him for his generous gift
Beautifully decorated with an awesome garden and classic dining hall. Love everything in the building and room. The staff are super friendly and always willing to help. Breakfast is made to order plus buffet. Free parking on site.
Nothing. Everything is perfect. There is no elevator but staff will help you with the luggage so no problem at all.
The staff was excellent as well as the property itself
Not the property itself, but did not know that there are no restaurants or pubs within walking distance of the property.
No fridge in the room
A beautiful and unique place. We were there with our one-year old and everything was really smooth. Morning coffee in the front garden while he was crawling around on the lane. A lot of beautiful trails in the area if you like running.
Food was excellent quality and good choices.
Need to train waiting staff in restaurant
Excellent
No airflow or aircon
The location and grounds
Grounds, room service and food all top quality. One of the best Expresso Martini's - and we have sampled quite a few :)

We have always enjoyed our stays here! A special treat every now and then! Perfect setting
Cost!!
Location, hygiene and staff friendliness
Great buffet selection and nice mains
Tea could have been hotter and the toast was brought before the eggs, so it was cold by the time we got the meal
Everything!! Absolutely everything! Courtesy of staff, premises, rooms, interior and common areas, food… The garden is fabulous. We had a great time, I’m already planning another stay!
The grounds and the staff

Questo è uno dei posti più meravigliosi che conosca. C’ero già stata e sono tornata perché è magico. Massima cortesia, pulizia e ambienti top.
Nulla
Great service. They really looked after us.
The "cheap" rooms are not cheap, but neither are they terribly special. Nice, premium? Sure. But not special and no view out for our room... one window looked directly into another room. The other just looked into rooftops. Tbh, I felt a little let down. The hotel itself was a delight. The service was great (if a little rustic in places, in a nice way) but the room itself didn't quite live up to the rest of the package.

The property is magnificent and perfectly maintained and its location in picturesque, yet quiet Upper Slaughter, was perfect. The wild flower garden and the extensive, well-kept grounds were sublime. The rooms were very spacious, aesthetically and thoughtfully furnished and immaculate. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and meticulously efficient and the fare in the restaurants was excellent. I enjoyed a lovely and tranquil holiday, in exquisite surroundings. I couldn’t have asked for more.
I loved everything about it.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Hotel in an amazing setting. Food was excellent.

Stunning and comfortable stay in an idyllic Cotswold village
Bit of kitchen noise audible from room
Was very quiet relaxing and beautiful gardens , food was delicious

Stunning location
Service was exceptional and the Hotel, while old, is nicely updated keeping the charm and losing the inconveniences of a centuries old property. The food was also one of our best meals in England rivaling Michelin starred restaurants.
Not a thing.
Fantastic hotel hooe to return some day soon. Staff are amazing.
Beautiful and quiet in the middle of the country

Manor molto curato nei dettagli
La camera era una mansarda dove faceva veramente molto caldo. La colazione è poco fornita.

Beautiful property and surroundings
Nice character, grounds very nice.
No where to sit outside undercover, bar very small. Chairs outside could do with cushions,
ALL staff were outstanding. From reception to breakfast staff. Unfortunately illness prevented up from having a dinner.
- in the heart of the Cotswolds, close to everything! - service was absolutely phenomenal, special shout out to Neil, Carl and the young lady on the counter (sorry don’t remember her name!). The service for the afternoon tea, dinner, take away breakfast box, valet parking. Amazing service. - amenities were top notch, everything that we usually need to ask for like irons, slippers etc were already provided. - the bedroom was beautiful, classic Cotswold feel and the bathroom was modern and top notch! The bed itself was soft as a cloud and helped us get get the best sleep! - also liked the little games room, enjoyed the chess there. Highly recommend this hotel for a Cotswolds getaway!
That we couldn’t stay even longer!
Linda propriedade, com funcionarios muito atenciosos.

Fantastic friendly staff ,great location and wonderful gardens. The food was amazing and the room was outstanding.
A bit more atmosphere in the dining room. Maybe the background music could have been a touch louder.

Beautiful location, breakfast was absolutely delicious, spotlessly clean.
Would have preferred a more varied menu in the restaurant.

Friendly staff
Very good location and staff super friendly too. The breakfast was excellent.
Very relaxing and comfortable stay in a beautiful Manor House in a very picturesque and peaceful location. Great restaurant where we had very good breakfast and dinner during our stay. Also serve very nice snacks, cream tea and afternoon tea in the lounge during the day. Staff were very friendly and nothing was a problem to them. Hotel is ideally located for walking the many walking trails in the area which we thoroughly enjoyed.
Nothing.
very good. very clean very helpful staff we enjoyed our stay good location to visit cotswolds
Resturant very good.
Everything was amazing and the attention to detail was very good. The staff were exceptional
The scrambled eggs and salmon wasn’t my favourite
The staff was excellent in every part of the hotel, couldn't do enough for us. The team observant, friendly and efficient. The hotel building is beautiful and the gardens outstanding.
The food was generally of a high standard but certain dishes could have been better for example the prawn dinner. Notably the cooked breakfasts could have been hotter.
Quite beautiful old Cotswold stone building, well maintained inside and outside. The refurbished rooms were excellent and the surrounding gardens an absolute treat. The two meals were also a delight.
Lack of name badges on staff - possibly - as they were so attentive and pleasant. Otherwise we would find it really difficult to be constructively critical.
From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, the hotel and it's staff did their very best to make sure everything we required was taken care of so that we could relax and enjoy our stay. From front of house, to bar staff to restaraunt staff everybody was friendly and professional. The room was beautiful (Wrigley Room), the bar was cozy.

everything will be going again
all excellent
The property was immaculate, well maintained. Good quality.
Nothing,
Very friendly staff, lovely dinner, felt very well looked after
Beautiful period property in lovely location.
This is a wonderful hotel to stay in. Quiet. Unbelievable and attentive service. Lovely for a break away from 21st century madness. Restaurant is wonderful. Breakfast unhurried. Oh my a spa without the massages etc etc
We had the most delicious lunch at the Lord's last week. We will definitely be returning. The service was great and the staff very friendly and welcoming.
Rural locality, the stone buildings, large but at same time small, grounds, good service and engagement by all staff and the food was lovely. Service was excellent
We had a few issues which were handled to our satisfaction.
We have been made to feel like we were in our home from home and our 4 legged friend was as welcome!! Superb!!xxxx
We stayed at the Lords of the Manor Hotel as a treat for my wife's birthday and we were not disappointed. We booked the 'Taste of the Cotswolds' package which included a 3-course meal in the main restaurant one night and then the 10 course tasting menu in the Atrium the next night. The main restaurant menu provided plenty of choice and the food itself was excellent. The tasting menu was absolutely superb, and from start to finish it was a wonderful experience. With each course expertly presented and explained by Carl ensuring you got a real understanding of how the Chef had prepared it, and to those things that you may not immediately know, like, what a Buddha's Hand is. (FYI - It's a citrus fruit with a flavour that belies its strange name and look.) The breakfast menu also provides plenty of choice and as you come to expect, is delicious. All members of staff we came across, from the reception, the bar and the restaurant were all friendly, helpful and you felt that nothing was too much trouble. A shout out to Keegan and Sydney for making us feel welcome. We stayed in room 3-Wrigley which had views over the garden at the back of the hotel and were more than happy with this. A lovely hotel in a beautiful location, with care and attention from everyone to deliver the best service they can, this is the sort of hotel that provides the standard that other hotels need to aspire to. But finally, I have to go back to the food, an absolute delight, Head Chef-Charles Smith really is at the top of his game, can't wait to stay again and would highly recommend.
Brilliant staff, excellent restaurant, clean and comfortable rooms, and a great ambience.

From the moment we arrived the service from every member of staff was excellent. It’s a beautiful building which has been carefully maintained to a very high standard, from the small reading nooks, to the spacious and comfortable light-flooded sitting rooms with generously-sized damask sofas, and open fires. Cocktails mixed and served by the amazing Ross, seemingly a master of every hospitality skill going, were superb, as were his liqueur coffees, exactly the right depth of white pouring cream perfectly supported by hot black coffee and the spirit of your choice. The drinks were complimented by an appealing dinner menu offering delicious classic dishes such as tender Cornish deep fried squid, velvety pumpkin soup topped with roasted nutty seeds, venison in a red wine jus and confit of duck with tangy braised red cabbage. The wine list was excellent and Ross was always on hand with interesting and creative suggestions, which were all a hit with the different courses. From the receptionist who greeted us on arrival and offered to park our car for us, to Andre who brought us our hearty lunchtime snacks and everyone in between, the staff were obviously extremely well-trained, but also appeared to genuinely enjoy working at this lovely hotel where our room with its king-size bed and fabulous bathroom with shower and slipper bath, displayed the same attention to every detail as the rest of this delightful hotel.
