Hôtel La Sanguine

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location.

I well kept place. Great location. Central. Great staff. Our stay had breakfast included, which was adequate but minimal choice. No eggs, no cook. Just displayed breads, some hams and cheese. Juices and beverages. Room was tiny, never realized when booking, but was exactly 120 sq ft, so not deceiving. Mainly family run. Staff was very polite, nice and helpful. Sandeep is a keeper. Very helpful

Nice staff, small but comfortable room - top (4th) floor - no lift…. Rather smelly drains. Close to Concorde and Madaleine. Great stay in general

Love this property, the service and the staff! y room was available early. I felt safe and comfy the whole time.

Lovely night at La Sanguine. The staff were absolutely lovely and really made me feel so welcome. As with most Parisian hotels the walls were so thin that when the next door neighbour decided to shower at 11:30pm I felt like I was right there with them. The bed was very comfortable and cosy, the breakfast simple but delicious. (Would be great to have an alternative dairy free milk like oat) I travel to Paris a few times per year and this will be where I chose to stay in future.

Very nice and polite employees. A pleasure

The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the check-in was smooth. The room, however, was a bit smelly when we got in, and the bathroom wasn't so clean. The floors were dirty and the bathtub was gross. The location is excellent, tho, and if you don't have a problem with showering with your flip flops on, it should be a perfect choice

The room was spacious and the hotel is close to a lot of things This was our second stay with them and we really enjoy it !

The staff are friendly. However the bathroom tub has stains and smells. The heat did not work, the receptionist said they would move our room in the morning. However they gave us a small heater instead. Which did not heat the room sufficiently in more than 8 hours. So we had to use the max setting. During the second night it was now too hot and we had to use the ac. It was incredibly uncomfortable and unprofessional. We got sick due to the heating conditions. The safe did not work, and they had no water for a few hours on Sunday. After paying over $700, I wish I had went with another hotel.

Every single staff member there was so sweet and helpful. They always went out of their way to help in any way possible. Very accommodating. Excellent location.

Every staff member was so sweet and would go out of there to help in any way possible. Very accommodating. Excellent location.

Great location, great service!

Friendliest staffs at this hotel! Very kind, helpful and attentive!

It was very cosy and easy access to the transport, the staff were lovely and was a good price so overall I enjoyed my stay

The two best things about the hotel were the closeness to the train stations, and the friendly staff members.

Highly unsatisfied- save your time and money. Did not get room that I purchased. When I got to my room, the beds were clearly different sizes even though they were advertised as 2 double beds. One is most certainly a king and one is a queen. The manager argued with me otherwise that a king would not fit in the room… see pictures below. When I spoke with the manager, she was incredibly rude, defensive and argumentative. Was not understanding in any way shape or form. I asked if I could get another room but she told me the hotel was fully booked. I asked for some sort of compensation and she said she the hotel had no money to refund me, even though the room was booked 3 months prior. In addition to not getting what was advertised, the room was clearly not cleaned. There was hair in the shower and on one of the beds on the pillow case. The phones in the room did not work. When I spoke to the staff the next mornings, they were disgusted with their manager as she lied and said there were rooms available and she should have given me one. Would highly suggest not staying at this hotel.

Wonderful and kind staff took great care of us. Older part of town, rooms are compact but clean and the bathrooms have been updated. Even though stuck in the room for a few days due to illness, all good. They bake their own croissants and the smell in afternoon is incredable. Great coffee too. Just have to figure it out the night before and let them know. Great location. One block to the Madeleine and metro (get one of the metro apps and pay with your phone). Lots of restaurants around and several sandwitch shops for a low cost lunch. Walking distances to the Louve (it was for us anyway) and to the left bank. Metro is right there for longer jaunts. If ever back in Paris, would stay here with no complaints.

Great location, friendly owners. Walkable to all attractions. 10 minutes walk from high speed train station. A hotel keeping with tradition.. there is no elevator but staff will help bring your light to your room.

Stay with the spirit of Paris. You have a lovely place and with all the small details, paintings, furniture, lighting. It is perfect. You are in a 5 star location and your hospitality 5 stars too.

The staff was outstanding and professional helpful Carolina was sweet and understanding of our concerns

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming boutique hotel in Paris, and we must say, it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted by the warmest and most personable staff we've ever encountered. Caroline was especially gracious! Their genuine hospitality made us feel instantly at home. The hotel's location couldn't have been more convenient, just a stone's throw away from the subway station, making it incredibly easy to explore the city. Plus, there were plenty of cafes, shops, and attractions within walking distance, adding to the overall convenience. Checking in and out was a breeze, thanks to the efficient and friendly front desk staff. They were incredibly accommodating and made sure that all our needs were met throughout our stay. The room itself was beautifully appointed, with stylish decor and all the amenities we could ask for. It was the perfect sanctuary to retreat to after a day of sightseeing. Overall, we can't recommend this boutique hotel enough. The combination of exceptional service, unbeatable location, and comfortable accommodations made for an unforgettable stay in the City of Lights. We can't wait to return when we stay for two weeks during the Olympics in late July to early August.

The property was very centrally located to attractions. The room was nice and the staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. Highly recommend Hotel La Sanguine.

The best hotel you can stay in, friendly staff and excellent service. a very familiar hotel.

Good value for money. Walking distance to louvre, arc and a nice walk down the seine to the tower. Would like to have extended my stay but they where all booked up

I love this place

VERY VERY SMALL ROOM - THE PICTURES DON'T REPRESENT WHAT THE WEBSITE SHOWS. We were in the 4th floor, I guess the attic so we had to avoid diagonal columns in the room all the time, my wife hit it once, we were betting who would be the first one to have a concussion LOL Our room was extremely small and if you are 6' Feet or 180 cms tall you will not fit in the bed. Not to mention that if you are tall you will not be able to stretch your legs while you use the toilet, you'd better be a contortionist to move around the tiny washroom. WARNING: We love to walk, so we are in very good shape; but if you're not YOU NEED TO KNOW THAT THERE IS NO ELEVATOR

All the staff were extremely friendly. The location is great, about a 15 minute walk from louvre. Close to transportation, and the rooms are clean and cute. Would definitely stay here again!

Such a great hotel. The staff was really welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and the hotel is located walking distance to pretty much everything you want to see! Just go ahead and book it, stop searching. I will be back in Paris again and this will always be my hotel of choice…

La Sanguine was excellent. The staff was welcoming and helpful. Our room was on the third floor overlooking the front of the hotel and was very easy to get to and it was in great shape. The shower and bathroom were updated and very clean. Centrally located in Paris so we we’re able to walk to everywhere we wanted to go. I will always consider staying here each time I come back to Paris.

Loved staying here. It seemed like a safe street and walkable to many restaurants. We never used a cab to get to the main Paris attractions (but walks were kind of long, 17ish mins to louve). Very friendly staff.

The location is excellent for shopping and sightseeing. Relatively near the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, etc. All the popular brands and shops are just round the corner or within 20 mins of walking. Rooms are tiny, but good value for the location.

Trevlig och tillmötesgående personal! Lite trångt rum med väldigt litet badrum. Ingen hiss och smal trappa upp. Dock mysigt och trevligt. Lugn gata men ändå väldigt centralt läge. Rekommenderas!

The staff is very welcoming and accomodating. Upgrade to a larger room and you won't be disappointed! Great area near the main attractions. I would definitely recommend this lovely hotel!

Great hotel and amazing staff. Merci.

At check in they told my they don't have any available rooms and they gave my room to someone else and they offered me a dirty room and asked me to clean it if I want. They refused to refund my money or clean the room for me because the reception said it's not his job to clean the rooms and the cleaning staff was not at duty. Worst experience ever.

Best place to experience life in Paris. Excelent customer service and also a good area.

Most of the staff is really friendly. The elderly couple are nice. And the daytime staff is as well. A few things about the property: It's really old. I mean, really old. Even the towels should retire because their like floor rags. Its kind of gross to use them because they're so worn out... The shower doesnt get hot for about 1 to 2 minutes so youre wasting water trying to get it to a decent temperature They take the remote control for your thermostat away. It isnt in your room to adjust or use. Its 2 blocks from a nice area. But the hotel has towels that even hostels wouldn't offer. Door curfew is around midnight but they'll answer the door if u ring it. Finally, my biggest problem with the property: I had a flight early in the morning for the airport so i requested for help with the bags in advanced. The daytime male employee was incredibly nice and booked my taxi but the nighttime front desk guy (skinny tall dark skinned guy with bleach blonde streaks in his hair) said bags come through all the time and it's not his job. He refused to help at all. ould not help me.

I picked the place for its proximity to saint honore shopping. You really get the value as its the cheapest in that neighborhood. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Only problem was there was no elevators but the staff helped me with my luggage up and down. Its very convenient to metro, shopping, restaurants and supermarket. I would be back for the best value of your money.

Hotel employees are not wearing their mask properly, or are not wearing it at all. Some are nice, some are a bit rude. Room is not at all like the pictures. Can be ok for a night or two but it's not "nice" or fancy. Some minor stains on the sheets, old bath towels, etc.

Friendly staff completely polite. In a close area to a lot of areas. Would stay again

The staff are very friendly and helpful. We had no issues communicating with them. The hotel is, I believe, located in the theatre district, very close to most attractions. Rooms are small but cozy.

Good location, Front desk service was ok, wifi very weak, breakfast just basically coffee and bread, the towels were smelly, worn and frayed worse than a floor rag.

Small room but that is to be expected in Paris. Very good location. Very central. Velib station very close by. Metro very close by. A good bakery in under 5 mins away. I will stay again. Good value.

no good for property

It s what I expected from a hotel in Paris

My wife and I put together a quick four day trip to see the Christo Arc d'Triomphe exhibit. We stayed at La Sanguine for the three nights we were there and were very happy with the place. It's the quintessential Parisian hotel, whose staff genuinely cares about it's guests.

Very nice stay and definitely a competitive price looking at the area. The location was perfect, we picked this hotel as we had an early appointment at the US embassy in the morning. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We will not hesitate to stay again should we want a getaway weekend in Paris !

Pros: nice owners, nice manager Saneep , safe environment; flexible (accommodate me for early check in); excellent location Cons: dated conditions ; no elevators ; noisy cleaners started chatting at 8am , can’t sleep in Overall great experience

horrible dirty place, i would never recommend to a dog

Communication is very hard with the owners that stay at the reception during the day, as they speak no english. During the night its easier as the staff speak good english. They are all very nice people. The duvet cover was stained/with mold maybe, and the glass door in the bathroom needs repairing, as it is very hard to open, but overall I had a nice stay and it was ok for the price I have paid. Seems fair for the area.

Great hotel and great location. Absolutely loved the staff!

great location staff was very helpful.the hotel has lots of character.a big part of my trip to paris!

They wouldn’t give me my money back after we were banned from traveling to Paris due to the Coronavirus. I went through Orbitz, called them directly. They said the reservation was too close by the time I got in touch with them, even though I initially called 10 days prior. They can choke.

What we liked about this property is its central location, closeness to the shopping area and short distance to the Madeleine train station. The staff at the front desk are helpful as well. We also liked the Crepery restaurant closeby. Regarding the room, the standard double room is very small although we know that already based on the sq. ft. provided. It was a bit tight with 2 luggages and 2 carry ons. When we were assigned room 203, I asked if this is the quiet room and not facing the street which was my request that I submitted when we made our bookings 3 months prior to our arrival. The front desk person said, it was a quiet room however it is facing the street which is a quiet street. Every morning, there were loud noises that woke us up very early which was some kind of delivery trucks or garbage trucks that went on for an hour or so. The mini refrigerator could be useful but it was dirty inside so we were hesitant to put our food inside. The furniture is out dated. we found the bed and pillows very uncomfortable and the bed spread was very heavy and dusty. We were sneezing the first couple of nights so we had to remove it from the room. The same with the big decorative pillows. Lastly, some of the towels looked good and some were old and dark and looked liked rags.

The staff were the best thing about this hotel - so friendly and smiley all the time. Superior room had a fridge which I liked, however the room was still very small for ‘superior’. The hairdryer was very old and was quite useless (I forgot to bring my own). Towels and sheets smelt lovely, but there was a lot of dust on top of things like the light in the bathroom which you could see when stepping into the shower. Overall the hotel staff were excellent, hotel was dated in fashion and needed some paint but was fine for what we needed.

The perfect place for a young person or couple on a budget. Only complaint would be to bring your own pillow. Friendly and English speaking staff and perfect location

Good location, value for money.

Fabulous boutique hotel ingrate location.

Front stuff at night time was so rude. He complained about helping guest’s suitcase.

The location of the hotel is amazing. It is very close to he 1st arrondissement!! The area around is also very safe.

Very friendly staff and owners...made you feel very welcome

The staff were very friendly. Location was great--walking distance to Place de la Concorde and to Metro. I had a single room with a private bath--very small but clean. Bathroom looked very new. Great crepe restaurant next door. Great stay

A well located family hotel that fits most budgets.

It was very comfortable, but I didn't like the fact that it was close to big streets. It was less charming than being in an another parisian neighborhood. Cafe's were more expensive because closed to place de la Madeleine.

The property has a great location, now it has no elevator and you have to leave the key of the room at the front desk which is a little bit weird to me. The room was small but it was good for the price and very clean .

When I checked in, the lady and the man at the reception, who seem to be the owner couple of the hotel, were very friendly although they don’t speak English at all. It was difficult to communicate with them when I needed to book a taxi to go to the airport in the early morning on next day. There is no elevator so the man at the reception brought my big suitcase up to my room. That was really nice. When I checked out in the next early morning though, there was a young man at the reception, I asked him to help me bring down my big heavy suitcase, he refused saying “No I won’t do that as it’s not in my job description”. I was shocked!!

Location and price were the best in the area by far

Great location!Should have checked beforehand that there was no elevator. We had to take up our luggage of a 2week stay in Europe up to the 4th floor which was hard. The room given wasn’t the same as in the pictures, asked to have it changed but was refused by the man at the front desk. The shower head should be fixed. The room was very clean! BUT on our last day we met the owners who were wonderful, wish they were there when we checked in, they would most probably given us a better room since they were so warm & helpful! Would go back just to see them again! With less luggage next time(laugh)

Great location and nice staff but hotel was a little worn out. Apparently had a superior room but didn’t seem it. Staff told us there were glasses in the mini bar but we didn’t have one, so was rather confused...

This hotel is conveniently located to most attractions. There were plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and the beds were comfortable. Would definitely come back to stay here next time I come back to Paris.

Firstly you can’t fault this property for value for money. Compared to the cost of other properties in the area it is by far the most competitively priced. The room is small as per other Parisian hotels however more than adequate. If you are looking for a fancy hotel to relax and spend the day in this might not be the place for you. If you are looking for a property to sleep in and recoup before another day out of walking and exploring the city then you can’t beat this property. The staff were incredibly friendly and courteous.

This location is great, central to everything we wanted to do in Paris. My only complaint was the very heavily fragranced rooms/bathrooms/sheets/pillows. The staff was great!

The hotel is in a perfect location. All the sights are walkable. The hotel is really clean. My only suggestion is to update the bedding and towels. Sandeep at the front desk is excellent. He went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable.

This is a great little hotel a short walk from the Seine and Champs Elysee. The staff was very helpful, especially when the transportation strike almost left us stranded in Paris.

All staff were very friendly and cooperative. I would stay again.

Location was amazing, basic but comfortable. Great little hotel. Staff very helpful!

The staff were lovely and helpful. The outlined where several facilities and attractions were for us when we arrived and made sure to tell us to be aware of pickpockets. The rooms were small but that's to be expected in Paris.

Very friendly and professional staff. Convenient and safe location near metro stops, restaurants, shops and main tourist sights. Perfect budget option.

Central location for a fair price. Good breakfast.

For the price--good choice in this part of town. You can walk to museums and Plas de la Concorde and shopping and other forms of entertainment. The hotel is quite old and shows it a bit. The amenities are OK but not what you would find in an upscale place. Breakfast is NOT included. Stairs if that matters--front desk is on the second floor. The main person at the desk does not speak English--or not well. Other staff DO speak English but it is a challenge. EVERYONE is very accommodating however and again for the price in this neighborhood.....

I was in an older, tiny single room, which was literally a size of a shoebox. But clean and had everything a solo traveler would need. The owner couple were lovely, saw them every day greeting guests in lobby. The couple are French-speaking only, but there are other staff at the front desk who are fluent in English. Great location - walking distance to most main attractions, very walkable, safe, just 3 minutes walk to the nearest metro station (Madeleine).

Beautiful people! And perfect location for a weekend

The property is close to a stretch of shopping area and there are lots of food choices as well just downstairs. I find the room clean and the staff are very nice and helpful! I definitely would choose this place again when I visit Paris.

Very friendly staff, very clean, central to everything, small room. Happy to be so close to be able to walk to everything we wanted even Ikea (2 blocks) as the food in Paris is sooooooo expensive.

staff were nice and the area is close to shopping,

Conveniently central location, staff were helpful, air con in rooms was excellent and much appreciated with the hot weather when I was there. The rooms/bathrooms are reasonably small, but the descriptions are upfront about this, and in return you get a very central hotel at a very reasonable price. I spent most of my time out seeing the city, so I was very happy with this tradeoff. My only small complaint would be that the bathroom sink drained very slowly, so the water would pool in it, and the sink seemed a little bit unclean.
