Airlie Arms Hotel

The staff were very welcoming and efficient. The food was tasty with good portion size. Loved the bar area, very clean and modern with a good selection of beers too. I liked the photos on the wall depicting the pubs history The room was clean, tidy and comfortable. Large selection of beverages and a nice walk in shower (the shower pump was a bit temperamental).

My only gripe was the parking. It was a bit difficult as there is no car park so I had to park on the street where there are lots of double yellow lines, but, to be fair I was driving a very large van.

Difficulté pour avoir la wifi

Bonne petite adresse sur Kirriemuir ville natale du chanteur d'ACDC, à la fois pub, restaurant et hôtel. L'accueil est jeune et souriant, les chambres propres, l'hôtel est proche de la magnifique vallée de Glen Clova.

This ancient hotel is really amazing for people who love the history. It's located in a small village birthplace of Bon Scott and James Barrie (writer of Peter Pan). Unfortunately, no live music in the bar on Monday. Good restaurant available

The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room was spacious and the breakfast service was quick and efficient.

The wi-fi in room 10 was patchy, which caused the TV service to be lost until rectified by a staff member. I had to use mobile hotspot to get a wi-fi signal for my laptop.

The hotel is lovely. It is central for the town of Kirriemuir and perfect for exploring the surrounding countryside. The staff are wonderful and very helpful. The included breakfast had a lot of choice, including vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. The rooms were basic but very comfortable and very clean.

There was nothing to dislike. I personally like to have a small fridge in the room but that is just me.

From walking in the door I knew it was going to be a nice place to stay. Friendly staff being kept busy in the bar/restaurant but straight over to see me when I arrived. Room was grand & great with the dog being away from the main hotel. Food was also really good & so convenient having such a nice menu to choose from right there as well.

Only thing was parking which wasn't much of an issue. I parked on the street nearby to get my stuff to my room then the staff member helpfully directed me to the nearest free parking that wouldn't result in me getting a ticket. For others the distance from parking may be a bit of an issue with getting luggage to/from rooms, but I had a small suitcase, rucksack, coolbag, dog bed & a big bin with 15kg of dog food, and it wasn't that bad really. Other thing is that the member of staff behind the bar swiped past the tip option before I had a chance to tip them!

L'hôtel est à proximité de la vallée de Glencova, porte d'entrée pour le parc national des Cairgnorms. Accueil sympa, petit déjeuner très bien et chambre confortable.

Le dîner au restaurant de l'hôtel sans plus. Il faisait un peu chaud dans la chambre, malgré l'arrêt du chauffage, nous avons dormi la fenêtre ouverte, et donc un peu bruyant le matin avec le passage des voitures.

Love the Airlie Arms Hotel we stayed in large room that was modern and clean. The shower water pressure and temperature was amazing! The hotel restaurant was delicious-make sure to book in advance as fills up fast!

Das Haus ist sehr hellhörig. Zimmer Nr.2 liegt zusätzlich zur Straße und über einer Entlüftungsanlage. Der Wechsel in ein anderes, ruhiges Zimmer war problemlos möglich.

Breakfast was very nice, the eggs were perfectly done. Two sisters run Airlie Arms. The bed was very comfortable and spacious. The meal we had at the restaurant was excellent!

The only thing I’d comment on is I wasn’t sure how to check out, the desk was locked up; nothing had been explained or mentioned the night before when checking in, nothing printed on the wall or counter, we were just unsure what to do so we just left.

The breakfast was lovely and Margaret was very pleasant, service with a smile.

There was a heating fault which resulted in my room being colder than I would have liked, but this was rectified by staff kindly providing an electric radiator.

Nice location, lovely outdoor area out front to sit and have something to eat and the room was really spacious. The staff were really helpful and we enjoyed some nice breakfast in the restaurant the next day.

We booked the Airlie to meet up with family for a Christmas night out. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable. We actually had a laugh that we were sleeping where the bar used to be, as we have seen that area go through two upgrades. You would not know that it had been a lounge and then a restaurant. I think it's a great addition to the hotel and would recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Kirrie.

A large room with two good beds. A good shower. The room was quiet. The pub downstairs was welcoming.

Parking can be an issue. The hotel has none of its own but there is a municipal car park just a short walk away. If there is space there, that's great. But on our arrival it was full and we had to park in the street a hundred yards or so away.
