Lovely room with a balcony, chairs x2 and table overlooking the loch. TV and Kettle with a selection of Tea/Coffee. We sat and watched Swans and Ducks. The Loch is also used for Jet Ski's and paddle boards (the latter available to hire). Room was quite spacious and shower was amazing. Breakfast was over in the main building. self service on cereal, pastries, fruit, yoghurts and juices. Lots of choice for hot food, ordering from a breakfast menu which was table service. Scottish breakfasts are the best! We also ate on an evening at the restaurant here. Relaxed atmosphere and lovely food too.

With the accommodation being quite new,in this day and age there should be USB power units in the rooms

The property is on a beautiful lock and the restaurant over looks it. Rooms were small but clean, had everything you needed. Food in the restaurant was nice but I personally think it’s quite expensive. But service was good and it was quick, and breakfast was nice and filling.

Shower was not powerful enough at all, could do with some better teabags but that’s me being picky. Room was really warm even with a fan but couldn’t open windows as they opened massive and at night I wouldn’t have felt happy with that.

The self catering appartment was excellent. Bedrooms a good size. Kingsize/super kingsized beds. Small self catering kitchen area. 2ring cooker, sink, fridge, microwave, toaster. Plenty of pans, plates etc.Powerful showers. Amazing views out of the balcony onto the Loch. Swimming is allowed in the Loch as is paddleboarding (can hire too) , kayaking, jet bikes, jetskis. There's a small pontoon/jetty and a gravel beach to water. Easy to get in.  Food was excellent in the bar at breaky and evening meal. Lovely dining location overlooking the Loch, eat in or on the beautiful outdoor area. Highly recommended. We stopped 2 nights. Staff were extra helpful especially the young man, checking everything was fine and my enquiries about swimming.

At breakfast, in the past, we've paid one price and it included, everything. Here you pay for what you want, so everything had a price. One of the bedrooms side tables hadn't been cleaned and were grubby and sticky, but easily cleaned and welcome drinks box still had empty milk containers, empty sugars and half packets of coffee. Ony one pk biccis when there were 4 of us. Just not topped up or emptied that's all.

The hotel is located by a beautiful loch. The staff were all professional and well-trained. Our room was well equipped, comfortable and clean. The staff were very accommodating with some of our requests, which we appreciated. We had an evening meal and were very impressed with the standard of food.

The room over looking the loch was nice but I asked for single beds we also had another room booked the view was car park and was noisy with the passing traffic they sorted the bed situation out and all was good the breakfast was very nice and the ending meal was lovely staff friendly

Didn’t like the smell in our bedroom it smelt of shake and vac which got down me some people like those smell but I didn’t and we had window open then the passing traffic was noisy the bed was comfortable and the room was clean

The Inn was an ideal location for exploring Dunfries and Galloway, the views from our balcony and the restaurant were stunning, something different to look at every day, the food from the restaurant was really good and also reasonably priced, all the staff were really friendly and helpful

The only negative thing for me was the bathroom light didn’t have an on/ off switch so if you went to the toilet in the night, the light stayed on for a while

We had a very good stay at the Inn on the Loch. The staff were extremely welcoming, and both the food and breakfast were of a high quality. The only minor issue was the automatic bathroom light, which stayed on for quite a while after being activated. Apart from that, what a beautiful place — we would happily stay again!

Lovely room looking out over loch really big king-size bed good coffee and tea facilities good shower with nice towels. All the staff were friendly and polite the bar had a good selection of drinks the breakfast is really good plenty of choice the morning coffee was lovely hot and proper coffee and the Scottish breakfast was of a very good quality

Our evening meal on the first night steak and ale pie is a dish with steak and ale in and a pastry top it was nice but it's not a pie my wife had the salmon which she said was nice but our vegetables with both meals were poor a little portion of cabbage and two slices of carrot we had the roast the following night and we had broccoli green beans carrots cabbage much better but we also noticed that people who ordered the pie and the salmon also had all the vegetables if they had run short for some reason then they could have said would you like more of what they had given us so we were a bit disappointed on the first night

We booked as a 60th birthday treat for my husband to go fishing on the loch and there’s nowhere to fish there,the loch has reeds all around it apart from where the water sports are. Maybe a couple of fishing platforms would work but it definitely shouldn’t be advertised for fishing, we wasted money buying supplies and tackle to fish and loaded the car with fishing gear. So disappointing!

The hotel was easy to find and had a large car park. The restaurant had a varied menu serving tasty food. The room was a reasonable size but was quite warm and being on the front of the building it was difficult to open windows due to the noise from the road outside. Breakfast was also varied and good quality.

We were disturbed by guests using the jetski into the evening, the hotel should prevent the use near the accommodation area.

Our room was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. We had a little decking area looking out over the loch. The staff were so cheerful and nothing was too much trouble. We were welcomed each day with a smile. The food was of a very high standard and delicious. The location was very peaceful and had a lovely view over the loch.

The staff were very helpful and friendly.. The rooms were very clean and well laid out. Restaurant was really nice especially with the outdoor seating.

My only criticisms would be the bed for me were too soft but that's a very individual thing. And I sat outside in the morning to enjoy the peace and quiet but it was slightly ruined by having music piped outside, I'd have preferred to listen to the birds than music.

Das Cabin war dann tiptop. Gute Grösse, gut eingerichtet, Bett war bequem und es hatte einen Balkon auf's Wasser. Es war sehr friedlich abends draussen zu sitzen. Gutes Frühstück. Personal freundlich.

Das ursprünglich gebuchte Zimmer war viel kleiner als was wir gebucht hatten - ca 15 statt 30 m2. Um ein grösseres Zimmer zu bekommen mussten wir ein Upgrade machen und hausten dann in einem der Cabins mit Blick auf den Loch. (zusätzliche £70 pP) Weiter s.o. Die Unterkunft liegt direkt an der Durchgangsstrasse, tagsüber viel Verkehr, nachts nicht schlimm. Cave: am Wochenende (Freitag Abend) kamen Jet-Ski fahrer, dann wurde es sehr lärmig!

Apartment was comfy and the location overlooking the loch is nice. Handy having its own restaurant and bar.

Mattress in the double room needs replacing. It is pretty bad. Double glazing not the best quality and could hear every lorry during the night.

We was in room 9, were from the UK so obviously we're heavy tea drinkers. We went to BUY more tea bags and the girl went not a chance, here you go. Gave us a full refill! The room had a balcony with an exceptionally beautiful view! The staff altogether were phenomenal! The food, the facilities! I cannot rate it high enough!

Stunning location, well appointed rooms. Good quality food served. Lovely breakfast and fantastic selection for evening meals. Lots of nice outdoor seating areas. Nothing too much trouble for the staff and all extremely pleasant and approachable.

No air conditioning in the rooms. Extremely hot in the room due to the exceptionally hot weather. The thermostat in the room was between 28c - 30c Fan provided, although still very uncomfortable. Even keeping the curtains closed every day of our stay. However this would not stop me staying again. The weather was not what we normally experience in the UK.

Sehr schönes Hotel direkt am See. Wir bekamen ein Zimmer upgrade mit Ausblick auf den See welches jeden Cent Wert war. Das Zimmer war ausreichend groß und mit der Terrasse einfach wunderbar. Das Restaurant ist sehr gut und auch das Frühstück war lecker. Parkplätze sind ausreichend vorhanden

Frühstück um 08:30 ist ein bißchen spät.

This has become one of our favourite places to stay. Its a beautiful location, the staff are friendly and they are very dog friendly too. The rooms we have stayed in have been fabulous, comfy and very clean. The food was delicious and piping hot. Our son lokks forward to coming here and doesnt want to leave! We are staying here twice this time, on our way and way back from Northern Ireland. We highlight recommended this place and we'll be back again too!

Breakfast is too late so if you catch the ferry you miss out. They offered to pack us up a continental breakfast which was really appreciated - however they didn’t show up in the morning to give us it which is really disappointing

So relaxing lovely staff who go above and beyond food was lovely bar was great with lovely staff had a problem with water it was dealt with straight away rooms was amazing clean

Additionally I was looking for a peaceful place and having JetSkis t as cling around in front of the deck was not conducive to quiet relaxation.

Asked for an earlier breakfast of 8am due to early ferry as this was available on request. was told no as the chef doesn't start until 830. Not even a continental option was available

Very picturesque and the decked seating areas overlooking the loch are very nice. In good weather you could think you're abroad,! Restaurant is smart and the food is mostly good but a little overpriced in my book. We stayed in one of the Rooms with a balcony and gorgeous loch view which was clean and adequate. Breakfast good . All the Staff are very friendly and accommodating, I can't fault them at all they were great. Overall we enjoyed our weekend but wouldn't take the dog there again.

Although very dog friendly, there isn't anywhere to walk your dog apart from a stretch of grass near rooms. The loch isn't accessible to walk around from the property, which is unfortunate as it is lovely. Property sits on a very busy A road, so can be noisy on a night for sleeping if you are in the rooms part ....unless you have a loch facing room then it isn't as noticeable.

Breakfast was delicious, also the Burger and chips we purchased for dinner.

The evening meals were mediocre, eg, seafood linguine lacked flavour, as did the poached salmon dish. Also very late breakfast start time at 8.30am.

Great location looking over the loch every morning. Easy journey to Castle Douglas etc.

It would be nice to have a covered passage to the restaurant from the bedrooms to avoid getting wet.

The location was great for a peaceful stay.
