Beautiful property with lovely gardens , views and we stayed in the cottage which was comfortable and suited us perfectly

Bryan en Martin zijn erg gastvrij en breed georiënteerd. Je kunt met hen over van alles praten: van appelbomen tot sterren tot horloges. We hebben twee keer een wandeling gemaakt door hun prachtige en interessante tuin. Wij sliepen in de gate lodge: een lief huisje aan het begin van de oprijlaan met een eigen tuin: rust en privacy gegarandeerd! Het ontbijt is heerlijk, met kwalitatief zeer goede producten. Het staat voor je klaar in jouw ijskast zodat je 's ochtends kunt ontbijten wanneer het je uitkomt. Nespresso apparaat aanwezig.

Tip: reserveer van te voren een restaurant.

The cottage was well appointed and comfortable. We enjoyed the little garden and the views. The continental style breakfast was great quality.

The bathroom needs an extractor fan, or for the window to be openable.

This was an incredible stay from start to finish! The apartment itself was spotlessly clean and remarkably spacious, offering plenty of room to relax and stretch out. Outside, the surrounding gardens were absolutely beautiful and made for a peaceful backdrop throughout the trip. ​Every morning started off right with a delicious breakfast, but what truly set this stay apart was the exceptional hospitality. The host, Bryan, was incredibly welcoming and warm. Because I had traveled a long way to get there, he went out of his way to allow me to check in early, which was deeply appreciated after a tiring journey. Highly recommended!

Kilgraney House is lovely - excellent hosts, beautiful grounds and scenery, with fine gardens. It is the kind of place you would want to return to, time and again, just to get away from it all. We stayed in the gate lodge, which is superbly quiet, and would make an excellent writer's retreat. Materials for breakfast (an excellent selection) are set aside for you in the kitchen for when you arrive.

Given the relatively remote location, internet and TV reception can be patchy, so if these are priorities this might not be the place for you...

The place is nice and out in the country side very queue and perfect if you want a little getaway

This property is the most beautiful oasis of perfection. Bryan and Martin did everything they could to help make our stay smooth, the property was spotless with everything we could need. It felt like a privilege to stay in such a beautiful apartment with doors opening into a magnificent court yard/ garden. Perfection!

We verbleven in een zeer smaakvol ingericht appartement op het prachtige domein met landhuis gelegen tussen de groene velden. Eigenaren waren 2 super lieve gastheren die steeds klaarstonden om je te helpen, te informeren. En dit alles op een boogscheut van het gezellige Kilkenny. In de nabijheid van verschillende goeie restaurants.

Weinig. Minpuntje is misschien het ontbijt dat al in de frigo klaarstond en je in je appartement kon eten. Maar was een goed ontbijt met kwalitatieve producten.

Loved everything about this property!! Most notable were: the modern kitchen stocked with yummy breakfast items; cozy & comfortable bed and sitting area; and beautiful views from gardens and orchard. Bryan,our host, was kind and responsive & even helped us with our tire issue on arrival.

Beautiful setting, gardens, nature, friendly and kind hosts. Everything was perfect! I would 100% recommend - and I have recommended it to family and friends already.

Bryan and Martin were extremely informative, the breakfast surpassed expectation with homemade bread, marmalade, yogurt with stewed fruit and granola and locally produced cheese and ham, fresh fruit and cereals. Beautiful surroundings and top class accommodation.

The Kilgraney House is a magical place with lots of history. Bryan is such a lovely host. We felt very welcome and enjoyed our stay very much. If you have the chance, stay in the Kilgraney House!

Beautiful location, tranquil, beautifully maintained gardens and property. Bryan was a fantastic host. The care that Bryan and Martin put on every detail made for a great experience. Also very close to Kilkenny and other towns and villages for culture and attractions. We will be back! And not in the Terminator way, obviously...

We had an amazing weekend at Kilgraney House. Couldn't recommend it enough, everything was perfect

very generous breakfast provided with homemade brown bread and marmalade- ham , cheese , yoghurt etc. Bryan the owner is very welcoming and working very hard to ensure guest comfort.

Loved the quietness of the location The setting and accommodations were outstanding and the hospitality and helpfulness of host was over and beyond.

The location, the small house we had as our room, the very friendly landlords Bryan and Martin, the breakfast which was set up in the room itself, the design, the comfortable bed... It is unbelievable what they did with the place.

Personally, I would prefer a coat rack as well as two drying rods for wet towels.

Shower was hot but had little pressure unlike bath. Perhaps a new shower head?

We were delighted with this property. Really ‘special’, small but beautiful, and exceptionally clean. A delightful stay, the greeting from Brian was lovely, and the food exceptional. Easy parking and the area grounds beautiful. We loved it and would certainly stay again if in the area.

The wee Gate Lodge is so beautiful and welcoming. Bryan met us on arrival and showed us around, explaining all the details and showing us the glorious continental breakfast, which was delicious. Martin, your wheaten bread and marmalade are fabulous. Kilgraney is stunning, a real gem in the most amazing countryside setting. We will be very happy to recommend it to all our friends and colleagues. Thank you both so much.

Property is beautiful, our garden view room was very comfortable and spotless, gardens are very pretty. Easy access to neighboring towns. Healthy choices thoughtfully pre-prepped for breakfast, including a nice assortment of local produce.

The cottages were really well put together, with every need catered for. Breakfast in the fridge and fresh brown bread on arrival was a lovely touch. Bryan was very friendly and helpful prior to our arrival and we would highly recommend Kilgraney House for a peaceful getaway in beautiful surroundings.

Most relaxing stay. Everything was just perfect.

Breakfaicst was perfect: the best yogurt parfait that I have ever had, delicious cheese, bread and ham. We had 2 rooms: the 2 bdrm Rose Cottage (this was very spacious with a nice view) and a 1 bdrm suite. Both were comfortable and had good amenities (tv, well stocked kitchen, Nespresso machine).

There was NOTHING that I did not like.

The tranquility, surroundings, accommodation, hosts of course, hidden Ireland and only 40 minutes from home. My Mom LOVED the gardens...best kept secret!

The breakfast was brilliant, lovely food and very enjoyable. The cottage is thoughtfully designed and decorated with many interesting touches. And the property and gardens are a delight! A wonderfully historic building. The hosts are very welcoming.

The host was very helpful. I had trouble with my sat nav I rang for directions and Bryan drove out to where I was to guide me to Kilganey. The breakfast provided was excellent. The gardens are lovely. Both hosts were extremely welcoming and helpful.

Went for a short break and that's exactly what we got when we arrived at Kilgraney House, Bryan was very nice and welcomed us to his home, safe parking, lovely apartment and the gardens are good for a walk around.

We stayed in the Lodge and it was snug but adorable. Bryan provided fantastic service for all aspects of our stay : comfort, advice, food....nothing was too much trouble. Kilgraney House is in the middle of some beautiful countryside and a real pleasure to stay at.

Bryan will have repaired this by now, I'm sure, but we had problems with the water pressure to the shower. The toilet mechanism was also temperamental.

Location was perfect for us, lovely in the countryside, quiet and close to amenities. The owner was very helpful and generous with breakfast and everything else. He gave us all the information we needed regarding restaurants and other amenities.

Absolutely nothing, everything was to PERFECTION! We loved the apartment, its decor, comfort, provisions, cleanliness and the "on hands owner ( always there for us)!. Top class!

Incredible charming grounds. Fairytale setting

A bit drafty and cold in the space but it’s an old building so understandable.

Large, comfortable bed, lovely surroundings and absolutely fabulous breakfast including freshly baked brown bread, yoghurt & fresh fruits.

We had a very pleasant stay. Bryan was a great host and the lodge was perfect. It had everything you need, was very comfortable and the addition of the breakfasts was a very nice touch. The gardens made for a nice walk and overall the grounds were gorgeous. Highly recommend for a short break and the area is handy for a short drive into Kilkenny city. 5 Stars!

The only thing that was missing was Wi-Fi in the lodge. Otherwise fantastic overall!

Excellent old stone cottages

The ground and the view was amazing, and loved the breakfast food especially the yoghurt! The man who checked us in was super friendly and helpful, and lovely to chat to.

Breakfast was very good with home made bread, home made jam, etc. provided, in fact we didn´t expect breakfast (seems the notice was added after our booking), so it was a very nice surprise. The gardens and orchards are beautiful as well and definitely worth seeing.

Why the gardens and the orchards are not mentioned when you book the place is something we can´t understand, they are even listed by the Irish tourist entities.

Rose cottage was beautifully refinished, with postcard views out of every window. The continental breakfast was plentiful, and included homemade marmalade and bread. The grounds were amazing, with herb gardens and a variety of plantings. Our hosts Bryan and Michael were delightful, outgoing and readily available.

The weather some of the time?!

Very cordial, quiet and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful with fully mature trees, lovely flowers and herb gardens surrounding the house. Bryan has been so personable that the stay has been relaxing and memorable.

I chose it for proximity to family and it’s been perfect. There are no dislikes to mention.

Bryan and Martin have created a tiny village surrounded by lush, green, fragrant gardens. The grounds are stunning—filled with flowers, herbs, trees, and songbirds. The apartment had everything one needs for a short stay. Breakfast which is stocked in the refrigerator is fresh and delicious. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable, including picking us up at the train station. I highly recommend a stay at Kilgraney house.

We stayed at Kilgraney House for just 1 night but wish it could have been longer. We arrived near dusk and were immediately captivated by the majestic drive to the property and well-kept grounds. Brian was a terrific host and extremely knowledgeable of the area. He was so inviting and friendly, it immediately felt like we had known him for some time. He went above and beyond to make our stay more than we could have imagined, helping us refine our itinerary, providing numerous insights, and simply engaging in delightful conversation. We enjoyed feeling his passion for the property and all it has to offer. Inside, the guesthouse was very spacious, clean, with fully up-to-date kitchen and bathroom. It also had a breakfast and sitting area with TV, and an ample supply of breakfast food to use at our convenience - everything we needed to feel at home. The guesthouse is located on a large, quiet property with themed herb gardens, orchards, beehives, woodlands which we were welcome to explore. It is also adjacent to rolling horse pastures which contributed to the serene setting. We highly recommend the Kilgraney House as your base of operations for experiencing the Kilkenny and Waterford areas of Ireland.

Fabulous countryside location with beautiful gardens and charming buildings. It was a very peaceful stay. Bryan was so friendly and helpful. The accommodation was comfortable and practical with delicious continental breakfast.

Not quite enough light in the living room for reading at night and the water pressure was weak, but everything else was great.

Interested in herbs and growing herbs. The gardens seemed to be neglected. Some people smoke, so have a heart, and provide an outdoor area, where smokers don't have to feel they are lepers.
