Ramada by Wyndham Grassland

I found bed bugs in my bed when I woke up! It was horrendous and disgusting. My back is full of bites. Nasty! This is a public safety concern and that's why I feel I should say something publicly, to make sure no one else has to go through this!

Everything was good

Clean room, comfy bed, breakfast ok,sheets clean, especially price affordable.

The staff was amazing, always quick to respond to request. Room clean and breakfast was better than expected. Will stay again!

Room was not properly cleaned once in 14 day stay. Sheets were not changed. when house keeping did come in, pillows were left on floor. After asking for new pillows, was told there weren’t any available. Hotel seemed very understaffed.

Internet not tge best

Room and bathroom very clean, bed comfortable. The continental breakfast was 5/10 based on other experiences elsewhere.

Bed was ok, carpet had burn marks in it even though fairly new it was well worn from workers. It feel like a work camp.

The rooms were small but nice and clean. The breakfast was okay but it could have been better. I would stay here again if needed.

The onky issue was the wi-fi it kept going off and on constantly had to connect phone and computer

It’s maybe a small thing to some but it was a big thing for us; there were no straws. The beds were comfortable and room was clean. There is a lot of light in the rooms due to the tvs having some sort of backlighting that is on even when the tv is turned off. I’d stay here again, but would make a plan to deal with the light and bring our own straws. The room had appliances though we only used the fridge. It didn’t freeze our food so was better than the average hotel fridge. Overall happy with our stay aside from the bright room that woke me up in the night and lack of straws.

Nice hotel especially considering its in a very small town , the Esso resteraunt and the elderado are good, walking distance elderado has a lounge as well,

The breakfast was terrible. Waffle maker burnt one side of waffle every time, the hash browns were hard as a rock and nothing fresh. The bath was impossible to adjust temperature, only hot water would come out of the tap and it poured slower than cold molasses. The rooms and property were clean and updated which was great, but probably would never stay there again.

I needed to stop at this hotel from Fort McMurray to Edmonton because I was too exhausted to drive in the dark. It is a nice hotel and a great place to stay.

The water pressure wasn’t great, barely trickling. Water was not hot.

Breakfast ran out of food and was told they weren’t going to get anymore and that was it, 1.5 hours before the breakfast was finished

Arrived, first room offered, went to and bed wasn’t made, went an md informed front desk lady and she asked if we wanted to make the bed, which we said no of course. Offered new room, new room was good. Breakfast was poor, there was no food point blank. The lady asked how was breakfast, we asked “what breakfast, there is nothing”. Thinking this would stir some action, waited twenty minutes for a restock, nothing appeared, left and went elsewhere for breakfast

No hot water and they didn’t clean the rooms. They said they were too busy to clean the rooms that day

The online check in is a great idea. However it is a waste of time as you have to do it all again when you arrive at the hotel

The breakfast was dried out, Front desk was poorly managed. Their payment equipment was faulty. Front desk girl was not knowledgeable in the operation of the POS system.

Checked in at 10pm, got into the room and noticed the pillow cases and sheets were not changed from the previous guest. Let the front desk know and the comment was we have no more rooms available and housekeeping doesn't start till the next morning. Brutal. Of course no refund. Then go outside and my truck had its contents stolen, along with the fuel siphoned out of my ATV. Never again

Stains on the sheets and when I lifted the toilet seat there was blood on it. Slept with clothes on top of covers. Morning breakfast was not even suitable for the homeless. Unsanitary to say the least. For the price paid i was legally robbed.

Pretty basic stay. Shower pressure was poor. Hotel carpets showing wear. Breakfast was fine. Easy check in. Good location.

Very friendly and welcoming every time. I'm a frequent visitor of this location. Clean rooms very quiet and comfortable beds. Highly recommended for a pleasurable stay.

Comfortable beds. Nice rooms but shower controls were damaged redulting in no hotwater. Also breakfast was disappointing. Cold unedible sausage, uncooked potatoes.

Our stay was good. Nothing much around to see or do in terms of entertainment but it was cozy, clean and quiet. Staff was helpful and friendly.

The room was a fantastic size, the bed was incredibly comfortable, the pillows were great quality, the room was very clean, the television was great quality. This is one of the top 10 hotel rooms I have stayed in while travelling for business. The town does not offer a lot of amenities since it is, a hamlet. There is a subway about a block away from the hotel. If you were travelling through, I would suggest using this hotel, because of what I have described so far in addition to the price being very good.

Everything was great except our coffee pot in 309 did not work.

Room was cleaned properly, floors were dirty. The biggest turn off was the lack of a properly working shower.

Convenient location

One of the nicest places to stay in the area. Room was clean and new. Breakfast was included but it could definitely use some work. If they improved the breakfast this place could be a 10/10!

Due to weather conditions, we had to stay overnight. This hotel is beautiful and the service was great. Very clean and up-to-date. The place was completely full however it was so quiet.

There was a huge hole in the ceiling above the shower I mentioned it on check out and was told yeah it flooded last year and repairs are almost complete. Why would you put paying guests in that room????? The hotel didn’t have many vehicles parked there so don’t think it was close to full

I travel for business to surrounding areas and Grassland Ramada is my favourite. Quiet, clean and great service including a wide rage of hot breakfast choices. There is free guest laundry and a workout space.

The bathroom was disgusting. The toilet had water stains around it and the shower drain had some sort of brown goo for a sealant. The shower curtain was also broken. The breakfast was terrible, no bowls for cereal, the hot breakfast didn’t look fit for a dog the sausage and bacon was raw I’m pretty sure and the potato wedges also looked uncooked.

Reasonable, kind, tidy. Our semi truck froze up and shut of in the middle of the night in -20C temperatures. We had to walk down the road to this hotel. The staff checked us in immediately. Rooms were typical Ramada. Clean, tidy with their normal amenities. If we had a choice, by reading previous reviews, we would have ran the other direction, however, this was not our experience at all.

Area around the property is in need of tending, not like others ive been to but im not there for the garden. Used the place to stop over when visiting friends, the hotel itself was clean, tidy and presentable. The staff were nice and courteous, the breakfast was good, not overcooked or dry, great choice and plentiful. The room was adequate, there was a dirty mark on the wall but it looked like it had tried to be cleaned, tv and AC worked good room was nice and quiet. Over all a quick but enjoyable stay, will definitely be coming back in the future.

Room was very dirty. Clearly nobody inspecting rooms. Jam on floor by fridge, counters by TV sticky, not dusted. Forget about Covid protocols, they aren’t even doing basic cleaning.

The check in was quick and easy. The room was nice, clean and the beds were very comfortable. For some reason there wasn’t any soap in the bathroom and only 2 towels for a double room that is for 4 people. I would recommend staying there.

Clean, very conveniently located and possibly saved my life due to its location. It’s the only decent hotel for two long hours in either direction!

Easy access and parking. Rooms were clean. A little noisy but all in all a decent place to stay when traveling through.

Front desk

One of the worst internet I have ever experienced in a Ramada or Wyndham hotel. I had to go down to the lobby to do my uploading of files for work, and even at the lobby, the speed was so dismal, I had no choice and was forced to stay late waiting for my files to upload at the lobby.

There was hair everywhere and there was grease on the bed frame. I couldn’t even sleep in the bed. Plz DO NOT COME HERE. The service wasn’t bad but still. I would never stay here again and neither would you.

Phoned hotel to see if they have rooms. Clerk said yes, and wanted a while bunch of info I was not prepared to give. She said they only had rooms with 2 beds. Ok I said. She kept talking and I stopped her. I asked if the room had bed(yes), toilet(yes), tv(yes), shower(no), tub(no). Are you sure it doesn't have a shower(let me check). I asked her " Do you mean to say you don't know what your rooms ?" Are you kidding me, staff don't know what the room amenities are. She started mumbling something and I just hung up. Went to front desk about . 5hr later. Asked for a room, she checked me in and Showed me the elevator and I went up to my room. Hot to the room, put my bags down, went to the bathroom and discovered a dirty toilet. Down to the front desk, asked for different room, sent me to another room. Got I the room, put my bags down and discovered a dead fly on the bed. I took a photo, picked up bags and down to the front. Asked for another room. She sent me up to the 3rd room.git in and everything g seemed okay until I checked the microwave. Dirty, dirty, dirty. Food and stuff in there for I don't know how long . Took another photo. Went unto the bathroom , and saw crud on the walls. I give up. Stayed the night. Checked out un the morning and asked to have manager phone. 3 DAYS LATER, and still waiting. Also saw that the hotel does not believe in a lot of sanitation. No plastic bags on the cups, or the glass drinking glasses. Hope head office sees this and responds to me. .

While taking my wife from Fort McMurray to Edmonton to get some medical testing we couldn't to get in for in Fort McMurray our vehicle broke down in Grassland. It was record breaking 40°C Temps and my wife, five year old daughter and dog, who we were also taking for a vet appointment since we were heading to Edmonton anyway, were turned away because they only accept service dogs. It was an emergency situation in temperatures that can kill and we assured them our small quiet dog would stay in his crate the whole time, but they said there are no exceptions to their policy. In the end after failing to find any other place to go or vehicle to rent ect, we had a friend's mother drive from an hour away to take our dog while his wife said she would come for us in the morning, and just before midnight we were able to check in without the dog. In the morning there was a pet charge on the bill... which they removed, but insult to injury you know? Thank God for the near by convenience store.

Extremely friendly staff. Beautiful, clean facility

I was passing through town, heading home and decided to split my journey in two. I chose not to stay in Fort Macmurray due to the the COVID-19 outbreak. The room was dirty had "fresh" type stains on the floor, and the bedding was also dirty. I should have said something at the time, but I had to hit the road quite early. It is $150 dollars for the night, I expected more for sure. I never ever complain I felt I had to say something here.

This is by far the best place to stay in Grassland, although there isn't exactly a lot of competition. The lobby is clean and the front desk staff are very helpful and easy going with check in and check out. The room was very clean and had all the amenities, and the bed was soft and comfortable. The shower was accessable and included a bench so it's suitable for everybody. The only downside with the shower is that the water pressure is very low and one of the two showerheads didn't work at all. The hotel was fairly quiet, except for at 3am when someone took a phone call in the hall right outside my door, so just be aware that noise travels when you're staying here. There is ample parking especially for big rigs at the the Petro the next lot over.

I like every thing, only the tissue and paper towel was bad quality .

Every staff member worked really hard and I’m impressed how well the breakfast area was stocked. I enjoyed the quiet, comfortable king size bed suite which was also well stocked with coffee, tea and bottled water.
