L’ancien relais de poste abrite un charmant et excellent restaurant, aux prix très raisonnables. Le relais lui même avec ses vieux meubles est fort plaisant ainsi que le jardin.

Le motel a l’américaine qui constitue l’essentiel de l’hôtel est, à mon sens, moins réussi avec son alignement de chambres presque identiques, de tailles et d’éclairage naturel médiocres, ses salles de bains tout en longueur et sa déco ringarde. Elles sont facturées cher par booking, en plus.

The room was a nice size and the bed was very comfortable. The receptionist was very helpful and indicated the short walk into town where we found a good restaurant for an evening meal. Breakfast at the hotel was good. It was good to be able to park our car overnight at the hotel.

Small but very chic hotel, parking was easy in the inner courtyard. The room was good, even if access with luggage on the inner spiral staircase was a bit difficult. The bed was large and comfortable, the bathroom was very good. The staff was very kind and helped us with the information requested, thank you!

Very convenient situation for visiting Avranches, excellent parking area. The hotel is steeped in history with an abundance of authentic relics on show - very interesting and educational.

Receptionist could have been more friendly and welcoming. The day before I arrived I received an email to say that Le Croix d'Or had changed its name to Logis le Croix d'Or. Neither the receptionist nor the barman seemed aware of this and were unable to tell us anything about it. The bathroom was very small and cramped with no hooks to hang anything. The water outlet knob in the sink jammed so were unable to empty water. the receptionist came and also failed. She took the plug out and told us to just let the water run and not use the plug. No suggestion of repairing it - not very economical on the hotel water. The wallpaper behind the headboard centre was peeling off and there were cobwebs on the ceiling. Generally the room looked tired and in need of a facelift.

The parking was very well secured. The spaces are quite small though. The garden of the hotel looked lovely, and the common areas reflected the unique history of the place.

The room (triple room, number 23)did not quite provide the comfort one would want: the mattresses were in bad shape, and you could hear everything from the room above. The decoration did not match the history of the place, but that's a detail.

The hotel and restaurant have a nice, relaxing atmosphere and a long history. The food in the restaurant is well-presented and the garden has a nice atmosphere. The on-site parking at the back of the hotel is also very convenient. The beds were clean and comfortable, as were the rooms. Staff was also mostly friendly but things go more smoothly if you speak at least some French. The hotel is on a main street to the town center, just a short walk away.

Rooms are not airconditioned and can get very hot. Also, the windows are small, and don't let in a lot of light or fresh air so it is hard to cool them down in the evening. The food in the restaurant, although nicely presented, looks better than it tastes. The meat was very tough and there are few options for kids or teens. The breakfast buffet was good but the same each day. The rooms can be quite different. Even though we booked two superior twin rooms, the equipment was different. One had a bath, the other only a shower. One had a digital mirror, the other didn't. You'd expect rooms with identical names to have comparable equipment. The bathroom was clean but our toilet smelled. In general, the rooms look dated and could use with some refurbishment. Wifi in our room was atrocious. Half of the time, it was not possible to connect or the connection would be lost within seconds. When the connection stayed active, it was very slow. In short, a pretty pleasant stay but too pricey in its current state.

Mooie kamerinrichting, hoewel je voelt dat het gebouw zeker niet nieuw is. De mensen aan het onthaal zijn zeer vriendelijk en hebben onze melk voor ons kindje bij hen in de koelkast gezet. Wij hadden een vrij ruime kamer en het sanitair is vrij modern.

Geen lift aanwezig om je gerief naar het verdiep te brengen. Er is geen koelkast in de kamer en airco is er ook niet al werd een ventilator voorzien in deze hittegolf.

Les rideaux seraient coupés à la hauteur du radiateur cela éviterai qu'il s'abîme. Il manque la climatisation car les ventilateurs sont très très très bien mais cela fait du bruit et je pense que sa consommation est pire qu'une climatisation réversible et comme ça les gros radiateurs peuvent être envisager à être enlever peu être... Pour notre séjour de 2 nuit on a fait avec.... Il manque un petit frigo pour mettre de l'eau au frais car on avait nos glacière mais à un moment donné l'eau n'était plus fraîches se service aurait fait un grand plus même un mini frigo...

Comoda per chi volesse visitare Mont Saint Michel e la zona. È in città ma in una zona tranquilla. Ottimo il ristorante e la colazione!

Dit hotel ademt historie maar is voorzien van moderne goed uitgeruste kamers. Het personeel is zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Dineren in het restaurant is ons zeer goed bevallen. Verfijnd klaargemaakte gerechten. Ook het ontbijtbuffet was prima. Een aanrader dit hotel dat zich onderscheidt van de doorsnee hotels.

De kamers zijn niet al te groot en je moet er rekening mee houden dat voor een aantal kamers je een trap op moet.

Gute Stadtlage und Möglichkeit auf dem Gelände zu parken. Voranmeldung ist sehr sinnvoll. Wir hatten ein Zimmer im ersten Stock mit Blick auf den parkähnlichen Innenhof. Dort konnten wir auch ein kühles Getränk zu uns nehmen. Ein Ventilator war im Zimmer, wir konnten gut bei offenem Fenster schlafen und so während der Canicule die frische Nachtluft hereinlassen. Bad klein, separates WC war sehr eng. Frühstück war okay.

Wir haben abends im Restaurant gespeist. Nach der Vorspeise mussten wir sehr lange auf den Hauptgang warten (3/4 Stunde). Die Entenbrust, die mein Mann bestellt hatte, war nicht genießbar, stand wohl "vergessen" unterm Salamander. Mein Fisch war gut. Uns wurde aber kulanterweise ein Abzug vom Menüpreis gewährt, das war in Ordnung. Leider war unsere Stimmung dadurch getrübt. Sonst hätten wir eine höhere Bewertung abgegeben.

Nous avons eu très chaud dans notre chambre, située au 1er étage. Malgré la présence d'un rafraichisseur d'air et d'un ventilateur, il a été très difficile de faire baisser la température....

Très bel hôtel, c'est un ancien relais de poste qui a du cachet. Très belle déco des pièces de la réception. Très belle déco de la salle du restaurant et petit déjeuner. Très beau jardin avec une belle végétation où l'on peut se relaxer au calme sur un transat. Chambres côté rue très calmes car il y a un double vitrage très efficace et quasiment aucun passage de voitures la nuit. Il y a la clim. Grand parking gratuit dans l'hôtel et également places gratuites devant l'hôtel souvent libres. Bon petit déjeuner. Le restaurant de l'hôtel est également très bon. Personnel et direction très agréables et honnêtes : pour des raisons personnelles nous sommes partis une journée plus tôt, le patron a été très sympa car il ne nous a pas facturé la dernière nuit annulée. Séjour très satisfaisant. Je recommande fortement cet hôtel.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt - das Personal ist super - alle helfen, sind hilfsbereit und freundlich, auch untereinander. Top engagierter Chef. Liebliche Unterkunft und schöner Garten zum verweilen. Sehr feines Restaurant.

Es hat keine Klimaanlage aber Ventilatoren, die brummen ein wenig - uns hat das nicht gestört. Die 2-Minuten Eier zum Frühstück - darauf achten dass die im kochenden Wasser stehen.

The hotel was well positioned for our journey by bike. Undercover bike racks in the secure car park. We did not have breakfast because we had to reset, repack and get going. We did have the evening meal, which was very good and well worth eating in the hotel. Friendly and helpful stafff.

Es war sehr warm im Zimmer. Aber zurzeit ist es auch extrem heiss.

We stayed here on previous overnight stops and have always found it very comfortable. Our room faced the lovely garden which was a lovely place to sit and decompress after our journey. The delicious breakfast justified the price. I particularly enjoyed the range of cheeses and good bread.

It wasn’t really an issue but our room had only a small window and a glass panel in the door and it was obviously because of its outlook on the garden.

Tolle kleine historische Anlage. Die Zimmer sind zwar klein, aber alles sauber, funktionell und absolut ruhig. Klasse die überdachte Möglichkeit, sein Fahrzeug direkt in der Anlage abzustellen. Das Personal? Absolut freundlich und zuvorkommend. Und auch am Frühstücksbüfett haben wir nichts vermisst. Immer wieder gerne .....

Des chambres avec une déco horrible avec du tapis plein partout. La chambre économique (99 €) sans véritable fenêtre juste des petites ouvertures donnant sur le toit où sont placées les aérations des cuisines. Et on doit être contents nous avons droit à un ventilateur pour la canicule. Heureusement nous avons pu avoir pour 11€ supplémentaires une autre chambre avec une fenêtre normale. Déco toujours aussi horrible. Bref je déconseille vivement. Je n'ai pas vu les chambres au standing supérieur, mais ça ne donne pas du tout envie.

Es una lástima que, al menos mi habitacion, no tiene A/C y además la cama con un edredon de invierno. No están preparados para dias calurosos.

It was a very lovely hotel with an amazing restaurant as a bonus. Walking distance to the main attractions of the town and a great central hub for your trip to Normandie esp. if you are targeting the D Day beaches and Mont St. Michel. It was a lot cheaper than choices available in Mont St. Michel with a much nicer setting. Very happy with our choice.

The rooms were quite old, they really could use some renovation. The in room amenities were not really very appealing either. But room size and cleanliness were definitely adequate.

Leider wurden 2 Frühstücke abgerechnet, trotz Ansage, dass nur eines gewünscht war. (Ich hätte selbst besser bei der Abrechnung aufpassen sollen.) Insgesamt war es ein schöner Aufenthalt.

This was our second stay and everything about the hotel is perfect. The highlight is the quality of the food in the restaurant in the evening. We had been on holiday for 4 weeks in 4 different countries and the meals here were the best of the entire trip.

Wat mij het best bevalt is dat La Croix d'Or een ambiance heeft die je nog maar zelden ergens tegenkomt, gastvrijheid met de stempel van wederzijds respect. Dat geldt zeker ook voor het restaurant. Als speciaal bonuspunt: het plateau de fromages. Kom daar elders nog maar eens om.

Het is een heel sfeervolle plek. Gelukkig hadden we airco, want het was wel 30°, de bedden waren heel goed, de douche heerlijk. Ook het Franse diner in de avond was uitstekend!
