The location is good and the cooked breakfast was lovely
The furniture in the room is very dated and needs modernization. Some elements of breakfast were poor, no dairy alternatives on offer and very limited continental breakfast choices. The scrambled eggs looked watery and not made with fresh eggs. It's a three star hotel but the price was a bit high for the facilities. Receptionist/breakfast person was friendly and helpful
no food
Great location for wedding venue and easy walk to collumpton
No evening meal
Nothing
On arrival, the hotel was in virtual darkness. There was a sign saying the restaurant was closed from August (NOT mentioned on website). Only one duty manager who was occupied making a sandwich for another guest. I didn't stay and moved onto a super pub offering B&B, who advised met that the same had happened to others too! I specifically emailed the hotel to see if restaurant was open, as this was important to me. They replied on day of travel at 7.00am after I had paid and after I had departed (Teesside to Devon) I didn't get to read message till after I had arrived. It didn't come to my email it went into booking.com and took me over 20 minutes to find with help of duty manager. I asked for a refund due to misleading web information: Their reply: Thank you for your message. Im sorry to hear that you were disappointed by the restaurant not being available during your stay. I understand this was an important part of your plans. I do want to clarify that we emailed you on the day of your arrival at 7am with the information regarding the restaurants closure. Im sorry if this message was missed, but the notification was sent prior to your check‑in. Regarding your comment about the hotel being almost empty, we were in fact operating at a high occupancy level during your stay, and all other facilities and services remained available as described at the time of booking. As the room and all advertised amenities were provided, and the information about the restaurant was sent on the day of arrival, we are unable to offer a refund or free cancellation in this instance. Thank you for taking the time to raise your conc erns, and we appreciate your understanding. Kind regards, Padbrook Park Hotel
The bed was comfy
The breakfast was poor - poor quality, poorly cooked
The location is excellent very quiet. Nice and spacious car park. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Room wasn't well cleaned dust on bed headboard, cobwebs on window and decorations quite dated.
The lady at breakfast was friendly and helpful!
The level of service from the guy covering the bar and reception was very poor! Skeleton staffing is not an excuse for dismissing a guest who has already been waiting. The service was inconsiderate, and left a genuinely poor impression.
Staff were friendly
A bit dated A bit overpriced

Spacious with plenty of parking
We booked this hotel as it served evening meals. Unfortunately they didn’t bother to let us know that they had stopped doing this as the hotel is closing down
The staff were wonderful and very helpful. The room was very clean and the breakfast was delicious. We were going to a wedding which was a mile away from the hotel so ideally based
The staff were very helpful and friendly and the breakfast excellant
it was slightly worn in certain ways
Very good selection for breakfast. Staff very helpful
Clean and comfortable room, nice staff and a lovely breakfast
The only thing I would change is to have a choice of full fat yoghurt for breakfast! It was all fat free which not everyone likes. But that is only a very small niggle.
Staff were helpful and room was a good size
Overpriced for location and facilities, food was not great and room dated and in need of modernisation for the price. Booked a deluxe double but was more like a standard room.
We needed to be in the area for an early appointment the following day and the hotel was a perfect location. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean, comfortable and served a good breakfast.
Nothing
Central to all amenities
Easy access
Location
They had no restaurant available and we were not informed. It was very disappointing in terms of atmosphere and an eery feel to it as lots of the outbuildings were locked up . Very few guests , it was like being some where that could be between owners or up for sale .
Padbrrok was very welcoming. It was clean and comfortable. Good choices of breakfast.
Clean and comfortable
Nothing
Never had break fast
Room seldom cleaned
The breakfast was nice.
This tired and lonely little hotel desperately needs an update. Unwelcoming staff and stuffy, non-airconditioned rooms with rock hard beds. It's like someone is doing an experiment into the bare minimum that a hotel can satisfactorily deliver without raising serious complaints. My room, thanks to the left open window when I arrived, was full of insects and moths. Everything is cheap and poorly appointed. Ragged towels, cheap linens, strangely typed out information in sticky laminated books. Yuck.
Friendly staff
Old fashioned rooms Bathroom was not nice at all. Mold on the bath
excellent and friendly service
Good location and quiet

We have stayed at this hotel a few times when visiting friends. We are always greeted with a warm welcome. The breakfast is always generous & delicious! We love that it is dog friendly as our little dog often stays with us.
The decor is a little dated & the grounds could do with a little TLC
Staff
No food when we arrived and dinner following night was inedible, my husband’s was totally overcooked and dried out When we. Arrived was like the Marie Celeste no one on reception and when he appeared one man trying to cover everything
for one night it fitted our requirements
unfortunately the weather being very hot on the day we stayed no aircon. and no fan available
Very comfortable spacious room . Excellent dinner and breakfast!
Very quiet had a good night's sleep on a comfortable bed
Some of the accommodation needed refurbishing
Quite location
Smoking area directly outside restaurant
Perfect for me as I have two projects running in Cullompton so will use this as a monthly base for an overnighter
Beautiful setting, excellent value for money. Bar area very tatty, totally understaffed so restaurant and bar very poor. Service was very poor. Had to ask for proper glasses, then given two different glasses for shared bottle of wine. No wine cooler. Tables left with dirty glasses on attracting ants! Furniture dirty and wobbly legs on chairs. Not what was expected from a beautiful building. 10% service charge automatically added to wine prices! Personally I do not agree with this as service was poor. I know short staff but politeness costs nothing. Our room was clean and well equipped, shower was very good. The lift carpet looked it had not been cleaned in years.
Well kept and presented
Could have payed more attention to the activities in the garden for children. Ping pong table set up it was in wrong place, balls accidentally lost in the grounds. Ball pit not maintained. A climbing frame, swings etc would have helped to entertain little ones.
Roomy, good breakfast, goos parking and friendly staff
Dated decor particularly the bathrooms do not justify price.
But nothing special
Our room was on the first floor whilst the relatives were located on the ground floor. Definitely not as requested near each other. Our double room had only I towel in the Bathroom , and no slippers,or buscuits, had to go back to reception to get someone to get the missing items. The room hadn’t been cleaned very well, crumbs were left on the desk by the TV. The room was located above the kitchen, the extractor fan was situated just below our open window, this was turned on about 6am ( breakfast prep) not compatible with a lying in! Also the area outside was the bin store, and bottles emptied in bins was disturbing, it was also a place for staff to rest and have a cigarette. Hotel was not up to standard, my wife wanted to leave and forget about the money, our relatives were agreeable. But after phoning other hotels in the area, there was nothing available. Our conclusion is that Booking.com is not someone we will ever bother with again. Mr F Curd

Our room was large and well appointed. Ground floor with window/door opening ro a small patio with table and chairs. The bathroom was large too and obviously recently refurbished. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Dressing gowns very soft. Breakfast buffet (continental) included in price. Nice selection, good coffee and friendly service.
Just a note, bath wash was on wall but too high if just using the bath. No fan or A/C so room was warm. It would be very hot in hot weather. Some areas of Hotel looked tired. Restaurant chairs in particular. Fully refurbished ths Hotel could get 4* rating
Friendly staff, free parking
Bed nowhere near as comfortable as usual, struggled to find something to eat for dinner as no vegan, dairy free or gluten free options on evening menu.
Convenient for an overnight stay on way to Cornwall
A bit isolated and tired looking.
Room
Breakfast, as asked for a vegetarian Sausage and got a pork sausage instead of vegetarian, that was unacceptable
Very warm and welcoming staff. They were all very friendly and very happy to help. The entire hotel was super clean and tidy. The bedrooms as far as what is required for a hotel was ideal and very big room with a very very clean bathroom. Given that the hotel is somewhat dated you can really tell the hotel is looked after and attention given in all the right places. We went out for dinner in Cullumpton and to some of the pubs so cannot comment on food, but, breakfast was plentiful and good choice! We heard the hotel may well be closing… and if that is the case, it would be a massive shame. They made the day before the wedding comfortable and easy going, and all guests who stayed said how friendly everyone was. The Padbrook should get investment not be forced to close it’s really ideal and family friendly, there is not anywhere else in Cullumpton to stay!
Lack of air con, but, we did stay in the hottest week recorded so far so that cannot be taken in to account. The rear garden could be so much better, we were present for a wedding, which I imagine is the main custom base at the hotel given location, so outdoor space is always good but there was only one parasol and they did not have any others and there was a sad looking swing chair at the end of the garden. It was so nice having somewhere to sit out there with family and friends and staff were lovely, but, some garden TLC perhaps. I also think the price should include breakfast, personally.
would love to go back but heard its possibly being turned into a carehome
Lovely & very helpful staff.

Room was comfortable
Asked for food before 9pm and told the chef had gone home, unable to order room service
Perfect stop over. Friendly, comfortable, easy. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful and all delicious.
A fan or air con in room as it was a hot night.
It very noisy with the outside people if you want a quiet night. Kettle had water in it before I filled it up, I didn’t think that was good.
The staff welcome. The cleanliness. The restaurant and the parking were superb. The beds were comfy and the wash facilities were above average, certainly exceeding my expectations.
The WC pan flush was rather weak.
The staff were very friendly and helpful
The bed, two single bed pushed together not very comfortable
staff were welcoming and not judgemental or prejudiced against our big but well behaved dog, breakfast very good, reasonable sized room basic but clean bathroom. good grounds with old golf course to walk on. decent parking, not too busy
no air conditioning basic bathroom would have preferred a ground floor room but was end of corridor so ideal with the dog as away from others
Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff working hard to provide service.
Dinner was disappointing. Menu limited. (Prawns in prawn salad tasteless. ) Menu in the room different to what was on offer.

Beds were comfy and rooms were very clean. The staff were above and beyond lovely 🥰
It’s tired inside and crying out for a make over and I think it’s sad that the owners don’t see that it needs investment. We loved our stay at the padbrook but that was because of the staff more than the hotel itself and I can’t express enough how the people there are the glue that holds it all together.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, nice sized room which was clean and very nice food both in the evening and for breakfast
The price for drinks
Breakfast was delicious 😋
The property was good clean & close to wedding venue, The Staff were excellent especially Sarah on Reception, Dinning & Bar, good value for money. Food Delicious.
Shower was just a dribble and extremely low for me at 5ft 7 so imagine what my 6ft 3 husband felt like,
Nice peaceful location.Very friendly and helpful staff. Easy parking. Excellent value overall.
Nothing.
Spacious room wnd good bathroom
Ok for price paid, although it was cheaper through booking.com than going direct. Rooms nice and clean Breakfast was lovely and staff very pleasant
Rooms are becoming a bit tired. Shower head is too low am 5.9 and had to duck to get under. Shame that they closed the gym down
The place was comfortable, quiet, plenty of parking, easy to find. wonderful

The room was very comfortable. Other areas of the hotel were spacious. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The food (breakfast and dinner) was of a good standard.
The only disappointing thing was the state of the windows on the ouside - very grubby
Very nice place! Bed as soooo comfy!! Facilities were great staff very accommodating!
Great location for a wedding we were attending. Large spacious hotel with lovely staff. Huge bed. Ample breakfast.
how hard the lady receptionist/ waitress tried to make things better. I booked for 3 nights left after 2- i would have preferred to sleep in my car due to the smell
it was like staying in a mausoleum. No atmosphere it felt like i was walking into an abandoned building very dated and in a time warp! the bedroom absolutely stank!!! Febreze is not the solution to dirty bed linen, i coughed all night! the evening menu was dull and boring, burnt fried food. Indian relish served as chilli jam for fishcakes?? I have stayed in many hotels with my job for20 years, and never felt it necessary to leave such a bad review but this has to be said as a waste of money, not cheap, awful food and smelly unhealthy bedrooms.
Good location
Friendly & helpful staff Hotel position, located exactly where we needed it to be. Free & plentiful car parking spaces, Inc disability parking spaces, which we required. Excellent breakfast options, freshly cooked & high quality produce along with continental breakfast options if required. Allocated smoking areas outside of the hotel building. Large room, large bathroom & very large comfortable double bed.
Low amounts of coffee & tea options in room (if you travelling as a couple). No usb charging point in room, but plenty of electric sockets within the room. Building/Hotel has become slightly dated, especially for the 2 night price that we paid. These are minor points, but an honest review & we would return if we needed to stay in that area again, but would lookout for a slightly better price overall.
Large and clean
No gym facilities

Convenience of the location. The breakfasts are very good and the staff friendly.
The evening menu is not as good as it used to be. The place is always cold. It took until the following morning for our room to warm up, after putting the small electric heater on. The dining area is also very cold.
