The hotel was clean and comfortable. Stayed 2 nights, our room on the lower level was large, clean and the bed was comfortable. Our view was of the back parking lot so not great but it was a quick walk to a really good restaurant, Chez Julie. Staff are exceptional, we don't speak French but they made fantastic efforts to explain things in English.
Endroit correct pour séjour court.
Perfect stop on our way to our fishing adventure.
Très bien personnel Très gentil
👍
very good
A good basic motel, everything worked and it was clean. No extras but not expensive, so good value.
Merci.
Endroit accueillant, tranquille.
Good
Very helpful check in. Room clean. Good facilities. Good (pricey!).resaurant next door.
?
Warm welcome at reception when we arrived. We were directed to the stairs going up to the second floor (there is no elevator) to a very clean room which was nice but very warm. Seeing there was no A/C, we opened the window to try and get some air, but to no avail. Though both beds were very comfortable, the warmth in the room made for an uncomfortable sleep, and the constant noise from the street below didn't help. Another low point the next morning was the maid knocking on the door around 09h15, having already inserted her key in the lock ready to enter the room while it was still occupied. This was very unpleasant. The hotel is also overpriced. Will not be booking with them again.
Bel accueil, personnel accomodant.
I liked the location
No frills hotel. It was good for the purpose of my trip. Would be nice to have a coffee maker in the room.
Correct, tranquille
Beautiful room but doors locked when I arrived around 7 pm u need phone to get let in The guy who served me was really kind and I dropped something that spilled he was kind and cleaned it up Comfy mattress fridge in room
Okay hotel
In front of Rio Tinto Alcan. Many truck passe in front the train is at 4h40 am. Also there is no fan in the batroom
) Service agréable a l'accueil.
We stayed 2 nights while we were visiting the Mingan Archipelago. Excellent restaurant, Chez Julie, close by and within easy walking distance to the wharf. Friendly and accommodating staff.
Very friendly service and check in. We had the « superior « room and it was nice and quiet. Location was excellent right beside the restaurant Chez Julie which has amazing seafood!
We had fun staying at this place..neighbor to restaurant chez Julie..comfy room..bit small but clean..5$ continental breakfast in lobby ..which was not mentioned before coming in there ....overall very good.. B+
I’m not sure why the overall rating is so low for this place- it is conveniently located, clean, affordable and the staff is friendly. I didn’t want anything else. It was a nice walk to restaurants and the harbour, and a short drive to the nearest Tims, SAQ and grocery store. All I needed...
Great place to stay. Nice and clean. Verry affordable and didint have to book through booking sites. Second week of august. Continental breakfast is not included in room fee. 2 minutes from the dock and nice view of the gulf of St-laurence
Overall satisfactory: clean and good service;
I paid online. But the hotel still charged me extra $ without even advising me
In a beautiful but remote village of the Quebec's North Shore you can find this hotel in an old building with rooms nicely renovated and comfortable. The service is extremely kind and the morning breakfast is complete and inexpensive.
This is one of the only 2 hotels that is open all year long. I stayed there for almost a week. Rooms are clean, there is a mini fridge and a small tv with cable and free Internet. There is no restaurant in the hotel but you can have breakfast in the morning for 4$ (coffee, orange juice, cereal, bread, etc). Havre Saint Pierre is a small city with just two restaurants open during the winter. Please note that everything is expensive here because of the location of the city. The owner of the place a Quebec fishermen married to a very nice woman from Cuba. They are both a very couple.
By happenstance, we ended up here 2 nights. The first night was due to an overbooked situation at a B&B we had booked. The other was arriving by boat at midnight. Although basic rooms, the second room was much nicer than the first. Maybe they are renovating the hotel/motel one section at a time. It is a fairly large hotel and was surprised that there was no breakfast service.
The people are nice, rooms comfortable, soap and shampoo of quality, a surprisingly pleasant place to stay for such a remote location, I will definitely stay here again when I stop in Havre-Saint-Pierre!
Nice hotel, was there for work only. I slept well.
This hotel is easy to find when you drive into Havre St. Pierre and provides free parking. We stayed for two nights. My wife has a sensitivity to fragrance so she contacted the hotel in advance to advise them of this and to request a fragrance-free room and that no fragrance products be used in our room during our stay. When we arrived we were treated with a warm greeting by the desk clerk. We were given a room on the second floor. The room appeared to be newly renovated and was very nice, clean and comfortable. There was no fragrance smell in the room which we were relieved to find. We did not find the hotel to be noisy even though our room faced the main street. There was a four dollar charge for breakfast. It is not a hot breakfast but we found there was a good selection of beverages and food available. In general, we were very pleased with our stay and would not hesitate to return to this hotel.
This was a last minute booking and the room with direct access from the outside, where the car was parked, was perfect for our needs.
Paper thin walls noise from room (snoring) kept us awake all night
Basic but nice hotel which is located on the north west end of the village. It is about 5-10 minutes walk to the waterfront. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Staff was colorful, friendly and helpful. They serve a very basic breakfast for $4 which consist of toast, jam, cereals, juice and coffee.
Don't get me wrong ! It is old and from outside the motel looks ordinary. The owners are so special they would do anything for you. Room (without carpet) was smelling very good and you have access from oitside and i side. The breakfast offer d in the morning is perfect formthe price. Towels and bed very very clean ! Shampoo, toothbrush, soap, etc. If you are looking for a clean and safe place to stay in Havre St Pierre, do not hesitate. Also, if you speak Spanish the owners will be happy to speak with you. Thank you for making of my stay a memorable moment
Well appointed establishment where we were taken very good care of. Friendly and helpful staff, clean and beautiful rooms right in the heart of Old Quebec. This hotel fits right in with the beauty and charm of Old Quebec. Located where one can walk to all that old Quebec has to offer.
a good place to spend one night, not more. The room was correct but very small, even for one single person. Basic amenities (TV, internet, fridge and bathroom). The breakfast was a little bit frugal (bread, marmelade, cornflakes and coffee) for the extra 4$.
The room was clean. There was a bed, a TV, a bathroom. The price was reasonable. Nothing else to add really. I just wish the breakfast could have offered a little more variety. It had coffee, toasts and corn flakes. That was really the bare minimum for an extra $4.
The rooms and the beds are SMALL!! And they are poorly laid out. Due to lack of other options I ended up staying here twice. The first time was semi-bearable because we were on the first floor and had a small fridge in the room. The second time was an absolute pain in the derriere. There is no good place to put your clothes where they are out of the way. The only place to hang clothes is in the corner next to the desk which had to be moved aside so that I could access the ac outlets to charge my laptop. The hallway noise is very intrusive; it was not possible to sleep late because you hear every single person in the hall. This is DEFINITELY A ONE STAR MOTEL. It is not a Hotel by any strech of the immagination. Both times we got a DOUBBLE BED!! Yes the size you had when you were a kid. Frankly, I'd be a lot less critical but for what they charge there is no excuse. This place is more expensive than other very nice motels that I have stayed at in the Cote Nord region. So I am not unaware of the customary prices. Frankly I think they are one of three motels that are open year round here and they are the biggest. So on the good side I was able to get a room on short notice both times. And it is clean. I stayed in one of the old rooms and one of the new rooms; not much difference. Actually preferred the old room since it was on ground level w/ an outside door. The newer room did not have a fridge which is almost necessary since there is only a couple of restaurants here and they are pretty expensive. The super market and poisonerie are both awesome but since there's no fridge, you're screwed. If this place was 70 or less a night, It would be a good value. At $110 a night it is pretty much of a ripoff but you probably won't have much choice unless you book ahead at one of the other places. Some people my think that I'm being a bit harsh here but I want to make it clear that I have no problem with a two star hotel at a two star price. Even a one star hotel at a one star price gets the job done. But this is a one star Motel at a two to three star price.
This is one of just a few hotels available in Havre St Pierre. The room was clean and adequate. Service was efficient and somewhat friendly thought the price seemed a little high. There is a good restaurant right behind the hotel (Chez Julie's).
This hotel/motel is hard to miss: it's actually one of the first hotels we saw as we drove into Havre St-Pierre. We looked around a little and we saw that there aren't too many other options around and none that are more than 3 stars.. so we finally converged to this one. This hotel/motel is described as being two stars and I believe it's pretty accurate. For Europe, it could easily be considered a 3 stars but by North American standards, this is a good 2 stars. The rooms are basic with beds, bathroom, tv and mini fridge. On the negative end, it had an older carpet, the floors weren't even and the decoration is dated. However, when you travel to a place like Havre St-Pierre, chances are that you're not looking for pampering and luxury anyway.. Overall, we felt good staying in this hotel: room is big, bathroom is pretty clean and the mattresses were nice. You're also located right next door to the best restaurant in Havre St-Pierre called Chez Julie. The price for the room is 110$ (for 2 people) when we went. I would say that it's a little steep for a 2 star, but at least, it was clean. I would probably stay here again next time.
