Reviewed Aug 18, 2026The rice porridge offered to guests was original and exceptional.That they grow the rice as well and promised to close if they could not was even more uncompromising than I have encountered. Booking.com can be proud of this place to stay!
The sliding door for my room and lock could need some attention (rm 4205) but it was an excellent spacious zen accommodation in Kyoto for me.

Reviewed Aug 14, 2026Les chambres étaient assez spacieuses pour le prix. Il y avait pleins d’équipements à disposition même si nous n’en avons pas profité. Il y a à proximité un parc, un 7/11 et tous les bus qui mènent aux quartiers importants de Kyoto.
Les murs sont très mal insonorisés donc la nuit on entend très distinctement les voitures qui passent. La serrure est un peu compliquée à fermer.

フロントがなくスタッフが常駐していないため、何かトラブルがあった際に不安を感じる。シャワールームが共有のため、抵抗感がある人には近くの銭湯を利用するのをおすすめします。

Reviewed May 23, 2026Maison centenaire. Expérience intéressante de vie. Grand espace de bibliothèque pour manger ou lire. Près du train si vous avez le JR Pass. Bouillie de riz disponible le matin a été apprécié.
La chambre était très petite, lits superposés, peu de place pour bouger, escalier très à pic, plancher du rez-de-chaussée fait de ciment pas nivelé. Il a fallut payer un surplus pour avoir des serviettes de bain ce qui devrait être inclut dans le prix.

Il y a un joli jardinet mais il faut savoir qu'on n'y a pas accès, ce qui a été une petite déception. Les lits sont très durs, dos fragiles s'abstenir. Très peu d'espace : une très petite table avec deux chaises dans la cuisine, une seule plaque de cuisson... Coin fumeur dehors sur le trottoir.

La chambre était littéralement 2 matelas posés au sol dans un grenier poussiéreux. Les murs étaient sales. La hauteur sous plafond est très basse sur tout l'étage. Il n'y a pas de point d'eau à l'étage, il faut donc monter et descendre les escaliers pour aller aux toilettes et à la salle de bain. Ces mêmes escaliers sont très irréguliers. C'était compliqué de monter et descendre avec une valise taille cabine. Il n'y a qu'une seule douche/ salle de bain pour plus de 10 personnes. Les toilettes sont en extérieur. Très décevant pour le prix. Proposer une expérience "typique" ne devrait pas consister en "entasser des visiteurs dans une maison en ruines" Le logement n'est pas non plus proche des transports.

Reviewed Apr 30, 2026Wunderschöne Unterkunft! Der Check-In war sehr easy. Unten in der Küche gibt es morgens gratis Reis-Porridge und Getränke. Auch die Gemeinschaftsduschen sind sehr sauber und gut ausgestattet. Die Lage ist super und für wenig Geld könnte man sich sogar Fahrräder ausleihen.
Die Futons auf den Tatami-Matten sind etwas hart, daran muss man sich gewöhnen, aber für die Erfahrung sehr cool! Durch den alten Bau sind die Wände etwas hellhörig, aber alle Gäste waren sehr respektvoll und niemand hat Lärm gemacht.

Je n’ai jamais vu aucun membre du personnel. Une fois j’ai attendu 6h pour prendre mon petit déjeuner mais il n’y avais rien alors qu’il etait 6h07.

Creo q sería bueno otra ducha,la casa es muy bella por ser antigua y por lo mismo necesita bastante cuido y en eso si fallan,creo q sería bueno un mantenimiento a fondo pero q no le cambien la esencia

樓梯還蠻陡的，所以不建議帶著行李箱的客人，揹包客還行 因為是比較老舊的房子，所以隔音比較差，稍微大聲一些就可能會被隔壁聽到

Reviewed Apr 18, 2026Petite chambre cosy. Futon confortables. La sdb et les toilettes sont propres. La pièce commune également. Proche de plusieurs 7-eleven et de bus locaux. Très pratique !
Les murs sont très fins voire inexistants. De plus, il n'y a pas de couverts dans la cuisine.

Bed we're hard and the place is very hard to locate. The directions to locate your instructions to access the property were unhelpful. There was no staff to help us. The beds were very hard and the other guest were loud.

Das 100 Jahre alte Haus verriet sein Alter an allen Ecken. Es war insgesamt ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen und auch nicht so sauber wie ich es sonst in Kapan erlebt habe. Der Innen- Garten war komplett verwildert. Service (Restairant-resa,taxi rufen) Fehlanzeige.

Reviewed Apr 13, 2026The rooms and shared bathrooms were clean and well maintained. They provided free rice porridge in the morning. It is few mins 3-4mins walk to the bus stop and 15-20mins walk to Kyoto station. Check-in and check-out was smooth. They have a strict check-in time but let you keep your bags.
Since they are old, the floors are creaky and walls are thin (we didn’t mind it). Just have to be cautious while walking and not talking too loud. This won’t be suitable for kids and elderly as the stairs are very steep.
