Recomiendo Casa Umare. Gracias, Pablo.
Todo excelente.
Excelente atención…es soñado el Hotel. Conserva esa arquitectura que lo hace único. El desayuno es riquísimo, Súper recomendable. Vamos a volver!!!!! Mil gracias!!!!
This place is a hidden gem. The rooms/apartments are spacious, breakfast is delicious and Pablo and the rest of the staff are incredibly welcoming. As a plus, this historic building is beautiful. We will definitely stay here again!
Casa Umare is beautiful. The
This property is beautifully designed, owned by a painter and sculptor who brings a special artistic touch to the space. The host is incredibly warm and welcoming, making you feel right at home. The freshly made breakfast is absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to experience Buenos Aires in the most authentic and beautiful way.
Love love love
Eveything! Super location! The staff was super friendly and helpfull. I can recommend to to everyone!
The appartement was just AMAZING. Decoration was just beautifull, staff was very very kind. Felt like home in the busy city. Would 100% stay here again when I return to Buenos Aires
Fint utgangspunkt for å utforske Buenos Aires!
Excellent experience, breakfast was really good and the VIP treatment was very impressive!!
Casa Umare has excellent staff that made an effort to meet our requests and ensure our stay was excellent. The rooms are very spacious and well-designed. Overall, the hotel offers excellent value for the price. I'd recommend the hotel if someone I knew wanted to stay there.
Upon entrance, the room had a musty smell and also had a moth or two flying around. I'd recommend to the staff that they consider opening a window (with a screen to prevent insects from flying in) or running the air conditioner to let the air circulate before guests enter. That being said, the room was very clean.
This is the best hotel choice I’ve ever made. The apartment is of an enormous size and very beautiful. The owner lives on property and is as helpful as it gets, and also nice and smart. I’m coming back, bringing friends, and recommending it to everyone I know. Don’t worry about being not in the very center of the city, it’s much cozier here, and Uber rides are like $3.
Unexpected hotel in the middle of the city. Amazing staff and very helpful with tourist and recommendations.
Pablo siempre atento a nuestras necesidades.
The owner is very kind and provides useful information; the building is nice.
I assume we got the worst “departamento” in the property: it was dark (all windows high up or facing a very small inner courtyard). It was rather damp and due to it had a peculiar smell. The bath / shower was not very comfortable, there was some mold on the shower curtain. The breakfast was meagre for what we paid for the room. Please be aware that it starts only at 9:00.
The property was charming, although some furniture was a bit worn. The building had been lovingly restored and the owner took pride in the building. The owner went out of his way to help us with tips on the neighborhood, restaurants, shopping, etc...
When we went to check out and pay the bill, the owner turned on us and extorted payment directly from PayPal in USD. We had asked to pay in Argentine Pesos, using the official exchange rate as per Argentine law (and how it was done at every other hotel we stayed at in Argentina on the same trip.)The owner refused, trying to get us to pay the USD amount converted at the unofficial "blue" exchange rate. Then he claimed his credit card machine would not accept any of the three cards we had been using every day. In the end, he forced us to pay using PayPal, directly to him in USD. This resulted in costing us several hundred USD more.
Truly boutique and special, owner operated with a personal touch, very helpful staff. Rooms are clean and curated with art and thoughtful pieces. Lovely courtyards full of vegetation and neat little nooks. Quiet residential neighbourhood, great for sleeping at night for energy to play during the day:)
Excellent location, the place was amazing, a beautiful colonial architecture, high ceilings, central patios with beautiful plants, gorgeous place!! Excellent service. The owner was very kind to serve us breakfast earlier than the usual time to accommodate our schedule. Highly recommended!! Thanks so much!
An amazing, well maintained historical building with a patio. Perhaps not located in the very center of all things touristy, but it is in a very nice, well connected neighbourhood with nice bars and restaurants in a walking distance. Great staff, always ready to help and have a chat.

Pablo the owner is amazing! It feels like a home away from home. Spacious.. great courtyard and yummy continental breakfast.. great soaker clawfoot tub too!
Stunning hotel beautifully designed in a quiet neighborhood. Bed was so comfortable with nice bedding and a great shower. Apartment was quite large with a lovely private outside seating area and a nicely landscaped rooftop deck. Pablo was a great host and was helpful with any questions and he arranged an early morning taxi for us.
I knew the breakfast would be bread and croissants, but still a disappointment considering the price point. Most places we stayed at this price and lower had a much larger selection. The area has plenty of cafe options and fast food choices, but is limited if you want a short walk to dinner or a drink later. We ate lunch later in the day in another area and skipped dinner. Casa Umare does not accept the blue rate, so budget accordingly.
Very central. Wonderfully restored old building. Perfect in style and material. Comfortable rooms. Very personal host. For central location pretty quiet. We had a wonderful time. If you live style this is the perfect place.
Pablo made sure the property looked very unique and fitting to its history. It was such a beautiful place with a fine taste for architectural and artistic details. The staff was always kind and made sure you entered your cab before closing the hotel doors. The casual conversations made it even more special and feel at home in Buenos Aires. Thank you for the hospitality, Casa Umare!
Excelente estadía, a casa é belíssima! O atendimento do Pablo e funcionários foi ESPETACULAR! Sempre prontos a ajudar.
Thanks so much for everything!!!
Very nice historic property. Service was excellent and overly accommodating. Will definitely stay here again.
Good service and location. Very safe.
Unique architecture and spacious rooms. Near subway.
The staff was super friendly and helpful. The place had a cozy feel
Nothing
Quiet spacy and comfortable place in busy city
Make more use from the outdoor patio. We had breakfast outside every day. It was nice the staff put the tables there and served us outside on our request. It would be nice to have tables and lounge facilities ready outside the moment the weather allows this. It will connect people
- very beautiful 1920s building, in good condition
- building very badly lit, there are steps which you stumble upon systematically - when it rains, part of path in the house is flooded - although kind of nice, the owner unfortunately can be impolite towards women - unpleasant price discussion even though you might have thought it’s agreed, you’re a tourist $bag and regarded as such
Architecturally interesting, historic building, with a modern design twist. Helpful staff. Great breakfast in a stylish dining room.
Lots of mosquitoes. But this might be just the time of year.l
I cannot say enough about the property. It is a wonderful old building lovingly restored by the owner himself, architect and artist. this is a must for people who appreciate the fine details of early 1900s architecture: the wood moldings, high ceilings, stained glass windows, etc. in so many ways I have the sense that I am staying at my grandparents’s home (Alfredo Mandino, a master mason and plasterer, who immigrated from Puglia to NY, building his house in Connecticut in 1920). The furnishings, the leaded glass, the koi pond, are just a few of the personal touches here. We loved being able to sit outside on a patio surrounded by plants of the tropics, the sweet smell of jasmine in bloom filling the air). In addition to the spacious common area courtyard, our suite had its own private outdoor seating area. The concept of this place is fantastic, a condo hotel, where one gets their own suite of rooms yet has the convenience of being able to have breakfast prepared by the staff, or a drink after returning from shopping. The entire place is filled with the owner’s own art. Pablo is a gifted multi media artist. He and the staff all give the feeling of welcoming their guests into their family. Laundry can be sent out, food picked up. Each restaurant recommended was an excellent dining experience. Casa Umare is impeccably clean and comfortable. In the neighborhood of Almagro, real people abound and chat with you in the streets. To experience the Real Buenos Aires, stay here.
it would have been nice if the restaurant had been open for more than breakfast, it would be an ideal setting for a small jazz combo and cocktails.
This place comes as a big surprise! Spacious rooms with high ceilings, some very nice patio's and a spectacular roof terrace. The roof terrace is not completely finished yet but when the long pool is, it will be a big bonus for this hidden gem. We had a quiet apartment on the ground floor with 2 bedrooms. Fresh orange juice and coffee for a basic breakfast. The personal touch and big influence of the owner (Pablo) as an architect and artist, made this casa especially interesting for visitors looking for an authentic place with a lot of character. Be sure to visit the Cathedral Club just a 5 min walk away where you can taste in a good atmosphere and for practically no money, a professional tango performance. Thanks Pablo for all your good information of this part of BA I hadn't visit before!
Some minor things: I dont like to have a shower in a wobbly bathtub with plastic curtains. The doorknob of the bathroom was missing. A guest took it home as a souvenir!
A nice quirky hotel apartment with a large internal courtyard for sitting outside in the shade. A continental breakfast was fine for my wife, as I am Coeliac I was provided with yoghurt and fruit at no extra cost. The staff were friendly and helpful although our lack of Spanish limited conversation.
Whilst we only required one bedroom the apartment had two bedrooms but you had to go through the second bedroom to get to the bathroom. Probably not a problem for those with young family but maybe not so good for two couples travelling together
The staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful. Rooms were huge and our room/apartment had a private garden where breakfast could be ordered. The hotel has very good location, but is still quiet. Our only negative comment is that the pool was closed, even though pool is advertised on the Expedia page.
We discovered Casa Umare for our stay in Buenos Aires through Travelocity. It is Located about a 15-minute drive out of center city- it is easy to uber/taxi to numerous tourist attractions however it is important to note that you are not in walking distance. The Pro’s from our stay: • Rooms: Spacious, beautiful details • Air conditioning, water pressure, toiletries and hair dryer, kitchen • In-room breakfasts were great for lazy mornings in with coffee service and an assortment of croissants and toasts with a variety of marmalades. The Con’s • After 24 hours of travel from the US we arrived to find that the hotel system had somehow marked us as cancelled - while our Travelocity account said our reservation was active. Fortunately, there were rooms available, and we were still able to stay – however- we recommend calling the hotel prior to visiting to make sure your reservation is active. • Café/Restaurant no longer in service • Rooftop lounge/pool under renovation and no longer in service Overall, we had a very nice stay and the price was great. The space was beautiful and offered a great deal of charm. While it was disappointing that the pool and restaurant were no longer in service- it would have been beneficial for to have an updated advertisement as it may influence other’s decision to stay at casa Umare in the future. It is an important takeaway that you will have to rely on uber/taxis to see the sights.
The staff were simply amazing. When we were stuck, unable to get a taxi (as the World Cup final was about to start), Pablo went and got his own car and drove us to our next destination. Truly lovely people.
Room is huge, well equipped and nicely furnished. Staff is great!
What a beautiful place to stay. blown away by the decoration. feels like your staying in a 5 star hotel. the building also has allot of history which the owner was kind enough to provide. Everything was perfect and the staff was amazing. situated near everything a mall, public transportation and restaurants. you won’t be disappointed if you stay here during your visit to Buenos Aires
nothing
The owner is amazing! He helped us with recommendations and even gave us his subway pass. The rooms are more like an apartment and are very spacious. Unfortunately the pool was under renovation. It’s a delightful renovated space within walking distance to subway and dining. We ate Pierinos - a not-to-be-missed family owned Italian restaurant. You can’t miss the hamburgers at El Bandarin. (Was $10 Canadian for 2 inc drinks). We enjoyed the cafe con leche every morning with breakfast. Would stay again! It’s very safe.
It's a very unique remodeled house kept in excelent condition.
Awesome place, great vibe, REALLY comfortable rooms, and great location.
Very minor detail, but a little bit of protein at breakfast would be nice.
Impecable experiencia.
Pablo was the most perfect host you can imagine for your stay in Buenos Aires! He helped us with every question we had and recommended us the best places around Buenos Aires. The apartment was dazzling and we all felt secure and happy about Casa Umare.
Bellisimo lugar super recomendable! Volveremos!!!
Amazing and welcoming host. Allowed us to check-in very early. Was very kind and helpful. Made recommendations on what to do and where to eat. We enjoyed our 1 night stay!
Our room was really a suite, with a little kitchen, living room and even a patio. The breakfast each morning is lovely. All of the staff are exceedingly friendly and helpful. Several speak excellent English, and they are a fantastic resource for learning to navigate the city. The location is very convenient, only a couple blocks from the subway and there are lots of good dining options nearby. I have absolutely nothing bad to say!
EXCELLENT BUILDING, ROOM , SERVICES & CONVENIENT LOCATION. WE'LL MAKE THIS OUR SECOND HOME WHEN EVER WE NEED A LITTLE PRIVATE SPACE FROM OUR FAMILY. GREAT THX PABLO & ALL THE STUFFS.
A nice boutique hotel that is a restored and converted house from the early 1900s. It has a quaint courtyard and you can get to parks, shops, and transit within a 10 to 15 minute walk. Friendly and helpful staff. We will definitely look to stay here again when in Buenos Aires.
Casa Umare is a beautiful boutique property near public transportation and great food options offering privacy and tranquility. Even the smallest room is spacious by hotel suite standards. If you are a writer or artist traveling to pursue your creative passion, Casa Umare should be at the top of your list in Buenos Aires.
Casa Umare is a very elegant and sophisticated property. Its location in the quiet neighborhood of Almagro is ideal for those who seek to have an authentic Argentinian experience. All major attractions and neighborhoods were located within a 10-15 minute taxi ride-which were extremely affordable. Our apartment was spacious and had amazing touches such as stained glass ceilings and artwork created by the talented owner of the property, Pablo! Pablo gave us many excellent sight-seeing and restaurant suggestions to help make our trip memorable. Thank you so much for everything & we look forward to staying at Casa Umare again one day!
Amazing host, very helpful and generous as he allowed us a later checkout. Delicious breakfast. Interesting building which has been tastefully furnished.
Very quiet and comfortable, spacious and extremely nice place! I’ll stay again!
Great stay. Very helpful and attentive staff.
Excellent stay at Casa Umare for 10 days while in BA as part of a solo sightseeing trip. Couldn’t fault any part of the service while staying - would recommend it to anyone!
Had a wonderful stay for 5 nights. Service was very good and the staff very helpful in helping me get around town on business. The rooms were very comfortable, quiet and well decorated. All in all, great value for the money. Location was good, near downtown and entertainment areas. A very nice place to stay.
The rooms are extremely spacious, including a kitchen, dining room, family room, bathroom and bedroom. Very large and decorated nicely. The space was clean and room service was provided daily. There is a bar/dining area adjacent to the lobby where breakfast was provided. The breakfast was delicious! The best part of our stay was the customer service. Very, very friendly and helpful with various needs including how to get around Buenos Aires. The only downside was some street noise at night including barking dogs, but this is probably only an issue for the room we stayed in and not as much for the other rooms.
We needed a place for one night before flying back to the states. I wanted to try something I’ve never tried before. Casa Umare is a dream come true. It’s like having your own private mansion with your own personal staff, and a new best friend in Pablo the owner. The check in process is seamless and quick. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Everything is perfectly in place. The elevator works and is quick. The decor is exquisite and tastefully arranged. We arrived at 8:30AM and after being allowed to check in so early, breakfast was served to our room. We made dinner reservation for 7:00PM and the five-course meal was deliciously prepared by Pablo himself. I slept wonderfully on the bedding and felt so rested the next morning. We asked for a late checkout and was served a custom late breakfast before leaving the hotel for the airport. I can hardly wait to return and take my family! Congratulations Pablo on a job well done!
Exquisite and stylish property in the middle of Almagro and easily accessible to numerous points within BA. Felt like our own little flat. Much more than expected. The staff was extremely friendly and gracious too. Would definitely stay here again
This house is incredible! It is absolutely stunning and Paul makes every moment of your stay very special. This house is spotless, has more than everything you need and really really special. If you stay here you will be treated like a king and queen! Thank you Paul for hosting us.
The best part of my last trip to Argentina was an all too brief stay at the wonderful Casa Umare. Sometimes, happenstance and good fortune conspire to create a memorable experience for a guest - everything is just right. At Casa Umare this outcome wasn't left to chance. Impeccably high standards, exemplary attention to detail and the genuine, heartwarming desire to provide comfort, luxury and true hospitality are not accidental. All with discretion, with subtlety, with kindness, with generosity. This effort, though it seems no effort, is so rare in these times. I haven't mentioned just how sumptuous is this beautiful building. It is.The lobby and dining area are exquisite. The rooms are flawless and carefully attended, the decor faultless and perfectly chosen. Inspiring works of art adorn this gorgeous place. We were lucky indeed for our short time there and to meet such a charming and gracious host and to benefit greatly from the care of the excellent staff. Be kind to yourself and borrow the keys to the kingdom for a while. With gratitude, thank you.
Great location. Walking distance to good restaurants, bars and a shopping mall. But most importantly Pablo (one of the owners) who went above and beyond to make sure my stay was enjoyable and memorable. I would definitely stay in Casa Umare when I go back to Buenos Aires next time.
I used casa Umare for the first leg of my trip and I loved it so much that I rebooked it for the last leg of my trip. Pablo and the people I met there were fantastic!!!! If I come back, I’m certainly going there again! (The breakfast was great too!)
One of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. The room was inmense(900 square feet) with a private indoor patio, a kitchenette and a living room. Wooden floors, high ceilings, works of art on the walls, scented bathroom towels. Class at its best. The owner was very helpful and corteous. You can tell that he sincerely enjoys his job.His restaurant recommendations were excellent. Will stay in this hotel again next time in B.A. Need more space here to write about how great is this hotel.
Very nice nice place...old house from 1900, very well kept, very nicely treated by the owners, Pablo being a gentlemen always worried about if eveything was going OK during the visit. Rooms, very nicely decorated, with very nice terrace
This hotel is one of the nicest and most charming I’ve stayed at. Pablo has done an excellent job renovating and modernising this eclectic style house - preserving the original style and vibe, whilst still offering all the amenities you need in a modern hotel. The suites were spacious and clean, the shower was excellent, and the beds comfortable. Pablo was very welcoming and made me feel like at home. He even made sure the kitchen was open to provide me breakfast for my very early flight. I highly recommend this place.
This property has been renovated with exquisite taste. Service is personalized, in most of the cases he owner, Pablo, takes care of you and your needs. You feel like a guest in someone's home, and the rooms are spacious, mora like apartments. In my case, the room was very quiet and I was able to rest perfectly. I also used the restaurant for business meetings, something that needs o be arranged in advance, as the restaurant is not open for public. The food was delicious, and the service was world class. Their selection of wines is fantastic and the environment itself is absolutely gorgeous. Casa Umare was an experience of it's own. Probably not in the most reknown neighborhood, I believe that actually provides magic to the place. There are plenty of restaurants in the surroundings, the police station is very close and if needed, you can get a cab to reach the touristic areas for around 5$. I will be staying at this place again.
Casa Umare provided excellent customized service. Pablo de owner and the staff attention to detail and great service made the stay a unique and wonderful experience to remember in Buenos Aires. The apartments were very large, beautifully decorated and with all the amenities. The food was excellent and the service and cleanliness impeccable. I will nightly recomend Casa Umare and will stay again when I return to Buenos Aires for Business or pleasure.
Great experience. The house is beautifully renovated . The room ( we should say « Apartment » was very spacious and functional . The owner Pablo had been extremely kind and helpful during all our stay . Clearly an address that We highly recommend .
Casa Umare is one of the great place to stay if you are in Buenos Aires. Wonderful hospitality and good location. It’s very clean and has 6 rooms. Pablo welcomes you upon arrival and explains you briefly about the city. He’s there for you at any time. Again, in my opinion Casa Umare is very exclusive and sophisticated so I would definitely recommend it. If I return to Buenos Aires this is the only place I would consider to stay again. Thank you so much.
