Great food and friendly staff
There I was planning to fly out of Ireland West Knock airport on an early Sunday morning flight and just wasn’t feeling like getting up at half-past-very-early to do the long two-hour drive from home to get there. So, I started looking for a place to stay within punching distance or even a short drive to the airport. I wanted to stay away from the formulaic sterility and coldness of a chain hotel and stumbled upon this absolute jewel in county Sligo, a mere 15-minute drive from the airport. Cawley’s has a wonderful blend of old-style charm, class and relaxing vibes right in the heart of Tubbercurry. Despite first appearances, it delightfully stays away from any pretentious notions, and not only does it have favourable room rates but has a very honest and wonderfully welcoming bar and restaurant with very accommodating, natural and friendly staff. From the menu, this reviewer went for the striploin steak with all the trimmings washed down with a nice Chilean Chiraz, followed by the traditional sherry trifle and ice cream. From modest-sized weddings, to solo travellers just looking for a bed, hot shower, strong wifi and a good meal for the night, to the small dinner parties, Cawley’s is truly a chameleon of options establishment that accommodates the full spectrum of travellers, diners and event celebration needs. The very charming and conversational barman Matthew even accommodated my request for a Calimocho (simply red wine and coke) without as much as a flinch, oh and be sure to connect with Teresa, part of the Cawley family, at front of house. You won’t be disappointed with Cawley’s, now 60 years in business and still going strong.
very friendly staff food and drink very good nicely situated for our travel itinerary
The customer service was excellent and we got 5 star treatment. Staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We were late coming to the accommodation in the evening time as there aas heavy rain and the chef stayed on to cook our dinners and the food was delicious. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
Quaint town and a historic building. Beautiful gardens.
It would be helpful to have a sheet on how to manage the shower. It took us 15 minutes.
Good location and clean room, could use an update to the bathroom facilities but still good.
As above.
Possible de se garer devant. Personnel charmant. Lit confortable et chambre spacieuse. Très bon petit déjeuner
El personal, encantador y muy atento.
Location
Didn’t get a great night sleep
Personale molto ospitale e accogliente. Colazione e cena molto buoni. Situato in centro del paese. Parcheggio x le moto interno
Nulla da segnalare
Teresa was very welcoming and kind! We had a bit of a tricky situation with regard to travelling to an event but Teresa helped us and we were extremely greatfull! Beds were lovely and comfy, breakfast was great, we would really recommend a stay here! :)
Nice, comfortable stay. Rooms could do with update but not a major thing as was very clean and quiet.
N/A, just a little observation,I don't really understand why they needed a card on file when I paid in cash on arrival.
The food at the restaurant for dinner was excellent. T-bone steak was very well prepared, the wine served in a glass and not the little vinegar bottles.
the bathroom facilities are old fashioned. The electric pump is very noisy to get the hot water. The room was very small for 2 people. The road is right below the window so we couldn't keep the window open at night because of the busy street.
All good
Location
Teresa & Matthew were very welcoming & lovely to deal with. Breakfast was fab & freshly cooked to order !
Was very clean , great location. Staff very friendly
TV in room didn't work reported it the first day and still no TV working
Was a good location staff were fantastic so friendly and helpful and the room was cosy food was lovely as well
The bath room could do with a wee update and the window wasn’t great
Good location. Friendly staff.
Steep stairs.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was very good.
The bathroom tap needed attention
Owner/staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent restaurant dinner and breakfast menu
Very friendly helpful staff
You could hear other guests going to bed and walking around in the rooms overhead. It is also a bit old fashioned. But extremely clean
Lovely staff. Very friendly. Great location. Super food. Couldn't so enough for me.
Room was a little cold.
Breakfast was lovely staff were friendly and very helpful
The staff were really nice, the food in the restaurant was tasty and the room was more than good.
Ms. Theresa went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. If I could review higher then a 10/10 I would. She was helpful thru the check in process, advised us about local scenic ideas, and hosted us for supper where local singers entertained all night long. Her hospitality along with Matt the bartenders friendly and quick service makes this one of the sweetest places IN THE WOLRD!
Absolutely nothing. Everything was great.
Just very welcoming, the breakfast had a wide choice... the Full Irish or Small Irish fry very good, great out site area, and bang in the middle of town ( parking in front or in limited private hotel parking) and a pleasant town called Tubbercurry
The noise of the crows in the morning...but something the owners can not do much about lol
Old world charm. Relaxing and comfortable charm
Television in the room had very sketchy reception and lack on choice.
Lovely owners, they had a wealth of information and suggestions for our exploring the area. They were kind and attentive. Definitely would stay here again.
We could hear the neighboring room's nocturnal activities through the wall, which was blush-worthy. But thank goodness my kids were in another room, they did not hear anything 🫣.
Staff excellent. Very welcoming and helpful eg re organising taxi
I didn't bother with the breakfast, but it looked good !
Teresa and Pierre (and family!) took care of us so so well. We were only due to stay one night, however due to Storm Eowyn we had to stay a second. Despite the lack of electricity, they fed us & offered tea & coffee. Jenny brought extra cosy blankets & constantly kept the fire going for us. Gave us torches, as many candles & hot water bottles we needed. Beds were so comfy and warm, we slept so well. Beautiful hotel & amazing staff - would definitely recommend to anyone travelling to Sligo, we can't wait to come back!
The staff were very friendly made me feel like I belonged there
Food was the best ever and was served with a smile
Staff upgraded me to a double, and saved me climbing up three flights of stairs, which I really appreciated!
Very comfortable, warm and cozy room. Excellent service in the hotel reception, bar and restaurant staff were very attentive and friendly. A good breakfast with excellent coffee.
warm welcome from Teresa and crew; lovely room; great breakfast and indeed food otherwise too.
nothing. I would very happily stay there again, and most likely will. soon.
Cosy little room, comfortable bed, good location , good value for money
Owner and Staff extremely helpful and friendly.
Good location, with parking
Bed was very squeaky
The room was comfortable and the staff very helpful and friendly.
Nothing
A handy place to stay. Food was lovely and so were the staff. Comfy beds.
Facilities were a bit jaded, several things were broken or not working ( shower curtain fell down, radiator control loose, missing handles on furniture). These didn’t bother us too much as host quickly fixed the radiator for us.
couldn't fault it at all. staff were lovely and the breakfast was amazing
Bedrooms a little tired but the bar, restaurant and staff more than made up for this. The food was excellent with good variety and quality produce. The staff are exceptional, really friendly and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. A really well run family establishment.
Very friendly staff Quiet location Great breakfast Cozy ambient
Not cheap Outdated facilities
Location
I was greeted with an exceptional warm welcome, immediately felt relaxed and welcome. Teresa’s attention to detail was exceptional. Preparing and setting aside an early breakfast, tailored to my needs. Delightful accommodation. I most certainly will be staying here in the future.
Having to leave. Shame i hadn’t more time to stay another few nights.
We had a lovely stay over in Cawleys. Our bags were carried up to our room by a very nice young man. Even though there were two functions on, we did not hear any noise during our stay. The bed was very comfortable, and the young lady in the morning gave my husband a takeaway coffee, which was a lovely gesture.
Nothing
Good breakfast. Secure parking at rear of property for cycles
All food was top quality just a tad over generous. The staff were truly incredible in every way, they constantly updated us on whether our meal would be delayed etc. exceptional is the single word I’d use for their communication.
I just thought decor a little dated.
The restaurant was nice, staff friendly and professional
Good for the price but old fashioned
Lovely hotel, lovely people, food was adequate not great, staff couldn't have done more for us.
We had very little sleep. Very noisy guests outside trying to get in the front door. We both woke in the early hours to a stranger in the room and would have liked a lock on the inside of the door. We did not sleep after that.
It was very comfortable with a great atmosphere. The staff were very friendly without being obtrusive. The dinner and breakfast were excellent and the room was very comfortable too.
Nothing.
VERY ENJOYABLE STAY - VERY RELAXED
Clean and comfortable. Fabulous food in the restaurant at dinner and breakfast. Lovely staff. Superb location. Helpful communication and put themselves out to help us. Definitely recommend most highly.
Nothing
Lovely staff
Our stay at Cawley's was fantastic, especially because of the amazing hospitality - Pierre and Teresa went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. The restaurant is also exceptional and they were able to cater for gluten free and vegetarian requirements. Overall, a fantastic place to stay!
The rooms were clean and comfortable
Too many furniture and busy space.
Very homely and comfortable, staff very nice, lady showed us to our room and all facilities on arrival which was a nice touch, breakfast was lovely and a real friendly lady served us also makes a good coffee
Very clean, friendly staff good location.
Beds are small for 2 adults. Could hear every car that passed due to the windows.
Very friendly and helpful staff throughout. Very good breakfast
Quiet location. Owner Teresa made us feel very welcome and went above and beyond on the night we arrived. Room was clean and comfortable.

Lovely quaint hotel
It was a bit cold
Really homely & comfortable. Lovely bar. Great tasty breakfast. Nice staff. Very reasonable price. The stand out for us was the lovely lady that checked us out & gave us a lovely coffee for the journey home. Came with us to the door & opened it for us saying God Bless.
