Beautiful location and very nice room. Ferry across to the island is quite a unique experience

I was staying in a studio cabin on my own as a wedding guest. The heating was turned up full blast when I arrived & I turned it off. When I returned at the end of the night the heating hadn't gone off it was sweltering. I called reception to get help & a night porter came to try & sort it out. In the end he had to turn it off outside as there was a fault where it wouldn't turn off inside. I had to leave the door open for 2 hours to cool place down in the middle of the night. As a female on my own I didn't feel safe doing this but I had no choice. I only got a couple of hours uncomfortable sleep after this. Not exactly a pleasant night away for the money I paid. I was very disappointed.

Rooms needed a deep clean. Food was good but the menu for lunch and dinner was exactly the same. Breakfast was ok.

The location is truly lovely and one of the highlights of the hotel. Being situated on a small island makes it feel very unique, peaceful and away from the hustle and bustle. There is no shortage of wildlife, which adds to the charm and makes the surroundings feel very special. It’s a beautiful and tranquil setting and definitely one of the best things about the stay.

Unfortunately, our stay was very disappointing, particularly because the hotel is in such a great location. Sadly, the overall atmosphere was poor, largely due to the attitude of the staff, which really put a dampener on what should have been an enjoyable stay. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel more like an inconvenience than welcome guests. Staff came across as unfriendly, dismissive and lacking in basic warmth or hospitality. We understand that hotels can be busy and that not every request can always be accommodated, but the way things were handled left us feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome throughout our stay. The breakfast was also disappointing. Much of the food was greasy, and a lot of items were unavailable, leaving the choice rather limited. Even more disappointing was the way a dietary requirement was handled for another guest. When they asked if an alternative could be provided, the staff simply point-blank refused and said no, without offering any alternative or showing any willingness to help. This was particularly disappointing and not the level of hospitality you would expect from a hotel. The room itself was clean, but unfortunately there were a number of issues. We found a lot of broken glass on the floor, which was concerning and something that should have been picked up during cleaning. The room was also extremely noisy, to the point where we could hear practically every word of the conversation taking place in the room below us. This made it difficult to relax and get a good night’s sleep. The bed was very uncomfortable, and we could feel every spring, which made sleeping difficult. The hotel itself also looks as though it is in need of updating and refurbishment, with the overall appearance feeling quite dated.

Definitely not value for money. No view from the window as it was filthy and overgrown with vines. Walls were dirty in the room. Waiting times for service was ridiculous. Self service breakfast was very poor. Cold plates and very cold food. Absolutely not worth 150.00 per night.

Great location, nice touch getting taken over to the island on the ferry. Food was very nice also.

Might be worth while checking to see who is below or above you in the apartments, the noise carries quite easily through the building and could be a problem if other people are having a party or extra drinks after the bar.

Receptionist while checking in was lovely not sure what his name was. Room was lovely and clean, bed was absolutely amazing to sleep on. Tv was good had the usual channels and apps such as Netflix YouTube etc. bathroom was modern, nice and clean as well. Couldn’t fault it. The hot wings and Caesar salad for starter were lovely and the steak was also lovely. It is a bit on the expensive side (2 drinks, 2 starters and 2 mains) £105. Definitely would be back.

Would’ve loved to of gotten a chance to go to the spa but we understood that it was busy as there was a wedding on that weekend. Will definitely be back a day to do a spa treatment. Only complaint I have is it said the pool was being renovated until the 3rd of July so we were hoping we’d be able to get to go for a swim on the 4th but were informed it was until the Tuesday the renovations were going on for.

Needs a little freshen up, paint, etc. could have been cleaner also. Could do with cover over veranda at front as couldn’t sit in chairs to enjoy the view as it was raining.

This is a proper hideaway hotel it’s on an island which you have to phone reception and call for the ferry very unique! Very rustic inside main building We had a room in a separate building on the second floor we had coffee facilities and a tv otherwise very basic/ rustic !! We did the fairy woodland walk very well done with lots of things for people to look at and read about fairies and Trolls good play area with tennis courts and spa treatments available would recommend

So the location is beautiful, the staff were extremely friendly and tried their best to find us something (as there was no availability for treatments) and the pool/hottubs were lovely. The food was delicious (both dinner and breakfast- which was fantastic, couldnt fault it) and overall, we have a lovely stay though we had a few downsides...

We were informed we couldn't book any spa treatments due to lack of availability because of a wedding - which felt unfair, especially as we were only there for 1 night. Surely you would have extra staff if you knew you had a large party of guests staying? The spa manager was excellent and organised a hot tub, which we ended up having to ourselves. It was lovely but we had our hearts set on a hot stone massage... regardless, we had a nice time but another downside was the room cleanliness, there was like blood or something on the walls? And the rooms themselves had no fans/ac which ofc meant they were hot during this heatwave.

Lusty Beg has high quality dinning facilities with a full buffet and menu for breakfast, including vegetarian/vegan options. The main dining room overlooks the lake, while the bar area is snug and cozy for both summer and winter visits. The menu has options for all and is very well served. The island has an enjoyable forest trail for a 40 min walk that is also entertaining for kids for fairy stops & interactions along the way. There are plenty of water and land based activities for all ages.

The spa was a little limited with only a pool (no sauna) and small changing areas - well managed by the staff with a booking system to avoid crowding.

The location is stunning. An island you can only get to by ferry so no crowds. Tremendous views. Lovely nature walks. Indoor pool, spa, skeet shooting, archery. You could keep several generations of family entertained on this island for a week!

Seemingly inexperienced staff in the restaurant kept us waiting and waiting for everything. It was a World Cup night so they might have had their replacement team playing. And if you want to catch up on business or do a video call after a pleasant day of relaxing, forget it; the internet was completely unusable.

The staff was very polite, helpful happy to help. The activities was great especially for everyone. Perfect peaceful resort.

I thought inside the building were all lovely and our room was clean and comfortable but the buildings need a wee bit of TLC on the outside and the windows need a good clean.

Beautiful location for the wedding of Craig & Jenny, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful - what we needed after a long drive, made us feel at ease. The rooms were lovely and spacious and the bed was like a cloud! I would love to come back and bring my friends!

Im from Belfast so very used to noise pollution.Being down here the only noise I heard was of jet ski's and boats.We absolutely loved the location and the relaxed vibe felt during our stay

The room was spotless and so spacious. Tea and coffee facilities in the room available. We had dinner and breakfast and both meals were delicious. There was a great variety to choose from as well. The dining areas are so cosy, especially with the open fires.

Everything about Lusty Beg was fantastic. Unfortunately there were some really noisy guests staying, which is out of Lusty Begs control, but that was the only negative thing that I can share.

Such a beautiful place, was there for a wedding and the weather was gorgeous so the bride got married on the veranda. Loved the layout and how homely it was, will definitely be back!

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Room was very spacious, comfortable and clean. Food (both dinner and breakfast) was fabulous.

The wardrobe space could have been a little bigger (for three girls :)). The pool changing area was small and the pool seemed a little dark.

Lusty beg is so relaxing. Everyone is polite, warm, and friendly. We loved the food, the pool, and the atmosphere of the lounge, bar, and restaurant. The views from the island are pleasing to watch. Listening to the sea and watching the waves crash into the rocks was mesmerising.

Have been to Lusty Beg many times. Love it , however I was disappointed to see it has been 'let go'. The spa area , the pool all could do with a serious clean. Outside what has the potential to be an amazing place to have your morning coffee is neglected without tables and chairs even cleaned. General running of the resort has lacked greatly. Where is the maintenance man and cleaners?

Place is not kept very well

It was a great location, staff, accommodation and activities to do on the island.

1.Moss on the walkway and patio of the cabin made the area extremely slippery with a few close calls. 2. When having dinner at the restaurant, random people started filtering through from the bar area occupying empty tables even though we and other people were trying to have a personal dinning evening. 3. We weren't able to book any of the spa sessions as they were fully booked. So recommend you advise visitors in advance to do so.

Location is very run down and old particularly the reception, bar and restaurant - feels like a school trip vibe. Although it is great it is dog friendly it could be so much nicer with new furniture and a face lift.

Black Mould on bathroom window. Rooms need a refresh Extractor fan not working in bathroom Spa swimming pool was fine. Litter left around it from previous guests was concerning. Male changing room completely soaking. Toilet was loose. Got up early for made to order breakfast after confirming with staff the previous night. Turns out this is only when there is less than 40 booked in for breakfast. Buffet it was then. Could have slept longer as a result.

It needs updated and the staff are willing but don’t carry out the tasks they are asked. We had no toilet roll in our room and we went to reception they told us they would send someone down but still didn’t receive any when we left the next day. The spa was a joke pool was freezing and the treatments wasn’t the length of times on the booking. The breakfast wasn’t great.

BEAUTIFUL ISLAND, BAR AND RESTAURANT IS TASTEFULLY DECORATED AND THE SMELL OF TURF IS VERY INVITING. OUR ROOM WAS PERFECT FOR OUR FAMILY. BRILLIANT MEAL AND BREAKFAST WAS SUPERB. CANT FAULT THE FOOD.

SWIMMING POOL IS DATED AND TILES ARE OFF ON THE STEPS GOING IN. BEDS IN ROOM VERY SOFT WITH ZERO SUPPORT. GREEN SECURITY LIGHT IN BEDROOM WHICH REMAINED A CONSTANT ALL NIGHT AND ANNOYED EVERYONE IN MY FAMILY, SLEEP WAS JUST HORRENDOUS! IN THE BAR AREA, EVERYONE HAD TO ENDURE A LOUD BOISTEROUS YOUNG FAMILY UNTIL 1030PM, TIRED AND SCREAMING KIDS RUNNING RIOT AND THROWING TABLE LIGHTS ACROSS THE FLOOR. WE LEFT AND DIDNT GET TO ENJOY OUR RELAXING NIGHT. THIS ACTUALLY CONTINUED AT BREAKFAST AT 830AM WITH SAME FAMILY PLAYING LOUD CARTOONS ON IPADS AND PHONES IN THE BREAKFAST AREA. STAFF STOOD BY AND LOOKED ON. IM NOT ANTI CHILDREN, I HAVE KIDS, BUT THESE PARENTS WERE RUDE AND DIDNT CARE LESS WHOSE BREAK THEY RUINED. ALOT OF MONEY FOR A ONE NIGHT STAY. PITY IT ISNT RUN PROPERLY.

The room was really big and comfortable.as for the breakfast and dinner was really nice.very good value for money. Not to expensive for anything. Rooms also very warm and cosy. The spa was also very good.
