Hostal Universitario

The room was clean and comfortable. Pillows were nice, but next time we will choose a bigger bed. The room and the whole place were clean. The staff was friendly and nice. Beautiful natural surroundings. The AC in the room, a plus!

For brief stay, it is inside university campus. Not a hotel, but it works perfect for 1 or 2 nights

I like the hospitality, and the location is family friendly.

Air conditioner too noisy

Our unit's air conditioner was too weak for mid-Augus heat. Otherwise, it was clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable. The unit was clean.. The unit had its own shower, and it was spacious. The nearby restaurant selection was sparse. So we dined in La Parguera about 20 minutes to the south. We would stay here again, but would ask for a room with a better air conditioner..

Nothing

Me encanto y el lugar super limpio!!

In general the place is good. But it could be better. They need to improve the room floor and hallway cleaning.

Needs a lil update, for the price its ok

Clean place, comfortable, great service!

Very quiet area surrounded by nature. Excelent service, very acomodating.Great price.

It's my alma mater. Feel very safe, they have security guards. Its convenient. The price is great.

Google map directions to the hostel were inaccurate but a local security person from the university went out of her way to help me get there. It is a hotel located inside a college dorm building which was very unique and I liked the vibe of the place. The room was clean and had its own private bathroom. Would definitely recommend.

It’s a room in the actual university hostel, inside the campus. Fantastic property, very clean, well maintained, lots of space in the room.

Great place to stay and sleep

Peaceful, tropical forest setting. close to La Parguera, Cabo Rojo.

Muy buen lugar, Cómodo, limpio, relativamente silenciosos, fácil acceso, fácil estacionamiento, Muy seguro.

Tv was not working 2 controllers and not able to turn off or change channels No coffee maker in the room

Very tranquil...comfortable accomodations best nights sleep

Nice place ! Great price !

Excellent Staff

Very good for the price with very convenient location and great service from the staff.

Nice place to stay

It's a safe place inside a university with security guards. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Prices are good. Can use the facilities of the university. Its my alma mateur.

A very well maintained university facility.

Very affordable while providing an excellent accomodations. The location is very convenient for enjoying nearby attractions.

Friendly staff

The floor could've been cleaner. Otherwise everything else was good. I felt safe at my alma mateur. I had clean towels everyday, garbage was taken out except Sunday. Space was very good. A nice studio.

Rooms were spacious and clean with tons of storage. University campus looked nice. Google maps shows the wrong location on campus and security at campus gates didn't know where the hostal was. It's across from the running track. Harder to find at night and not all gates to campus were open at night so I had to drive around. Plenty of parking.

Like: Cleanliness, safety

Staff was amazing! Room was ice cold and very clean. Had a separate living room, separate shower, and separate toilet area. Double vanity sinks separate as well, I was impressed with the price. Nice TV and a sofa bed, beds were pretty cool

My stay here was absolutely wonderful. The room was large and extremely clean and everyone here was incredibly nice and helpful with any requests. Beyond grateful for my stay here. Thank you!!!

Has no hot water. The beds aren't good quality. The amenities are ok

Wow -what a gem. Great price for a clean, spacious, comfortable place to sleep. It's a dorm room - but what a great value. Only complaint was not knowing the gates to the campus would close on the weekend. A little advanced warning of this with written directions to the alternate entrance would have been VERY helpful. I would recommend for the budget-wise traveller.

Clean, nice staff, only thing is to make sure you know how to get back in once the gates close at night!

The place was easy to check in. The staff was super friendly and help me with directions to get to the hostal. Place was really clean and quiet. Comfortable.

Excellent place. Comfortable, clean, and great service by everyone.

We could not get in because gate was locked. We had to go to town, and a nice couple took us there. There was another entrance. The other problem was that we called, and no one answered. The number was correct because we tested it once there. The stay was nice. Just fix those problems. Thanks.

The property was clean and safe. The staff were very friendly and and helpful. But the bed was very uncomfortable. Thanks God that I stayed just one night.

Super difficult to find the entrance also they did not answer the phone

Great staff!

I made a mistake and book this in another country and they took my money and wouldn't give me my money back or even try to get me some where in the USA states for the money they took money I would never use them again this is a bunch of crooks and very dishonest company so I will people don't use this because if you make a mistake in booking somewhere they will not make it right but they will take your money anyway

My travel was for medical reasons 7min away from the hospital The staff members were so comprehensive of my situation I really appreciate the stay over Will be back soon...

Great accommodations. It is a great alternative and should continue expanding their offer. The only two concerns is food availability and parking They should consider a small in campus cafeteria or similar. A parking should be considered rather that parking on the street. Next time in the area, I will stay there!

this place has been closed since March!! how do they not know this? waste of time at 7:00 pm when there is a curfew. now i have to wait to get my money put back on my card.

Great location very beautiful and quiet

If you’re looking for a clean place with a nice hot shower, a room with a/c and a comfortable bed, this is it. There are no frills, no bar and no restaurant. It is a comfortable college dorm that provides all the basics: toiletries, ironing board, hairdryer etc. It’s a place to say goodnight after a day at the beach or sightseeing. Not a lot to do in San German after hours anyway. The boys may get a little noisy at night but, hey, you’re in an all-male college dorm.

Horrible rooms, no view to the outside. Very old structure and very difficult to get to. They close gates at 5pm so if you get there after 5pm you will need help getting to the open area where you go through security as if you are going to the White House. First time shame on them second time shame on me, NEVER AGAIN!!!

Very nice hostel staff is very helpful accommodation clean neat WIFi work great .secure and quiet place. Highly recommend.

The Mattress very uncomfortable. Pillow also uncomfortable. I expected 2 twin beds , not mattress

So this hostel is on a university campus which is great for safety but a night the main gates are closed so it was a bit hard to get in. The staff was super friendly and kind. The rooms itself were very clean, but they are basically dorms.

Very quiet inside a university campus. Full of vegetation.

The place is located in a university campus so there are several entrances. But only one is open so it is not convenient to get there. The staff is super nice and helpful. The room is nice size and clean. But the facilities are kind old, we had a AC that made noise all night long.

I liked that there was a private entrance and exit and had security and also Personnel was very helpful and friendly.

Room TV was damage and the check in was after 4pm. However, the room was clean and comfortable.

The room was very clean, the hat water and ac both worked very well. I think that it was great value for the money.

I like the surroundings of the property. It’s located inside a University and the campus is a really nice place.

The price is good. Clean!! Goof air conditioned, LED tv with cable. Coffe.

Good!!!

This is not a hotel, but a students residence.Don't expect to find luxury here, but we had the basics like in a motel. It's unfortunately very noisy in the evenings(loud reggae music or students yelling)up to 11pm.There was no internet during my stay(3days),nor hot water. But the staff was cozy and friendly.People are nice and friendly in Cabo Rojo area, like in Canada :) I would go back for this, not for the hotel itself.

This was a Christmas vacation for my first Christmas in Puerto Rico and my 88 year old mom’s first Christmas in Puerto Rico in approximate 55 years. This property was booked because it is located where our family resides. Although the hotel is simple we had a beautiful vacation in San German, Puerto Rico. The staff were friendly and very helpful with information pertaining to local eating places and travel directions. Simple but cleanliness is truly what I am concerned about. This location was perfect for the activities we had planned.

This motel was perfect for what we needed. We were diving early one morning in La Parguera and just needed an inexpensive hotel to stay the night before to decrease the distance to drive. This hotel was a former dormitory and the room we had was perfect for the 3 of us. It had 2 twin beds and a twin sofabed in a separate seating area. The woman who checked us in was so helpful and accommodated our request for a late check out. This allowed us to return back to the room to take a much needed shower after our morning of diving. Thank you!

Stayed with wife while visiting family. Brought back my dorm memories (felt like I slept on same bed too). Quite area (when class is out) reasonable rates, decor is dorm setting, hot water, fridge place to wash ur azz & sleep. Its Puerto Rico get out and explore!

This was my fault. I should have read the reviews. The facilities are actually on campus of a functioning university. We shared the building with male students. The university rents the unused wing out to the public as a means to generate income. The facilities were nice as far as dorms go. (Much better than at my daughter's college.) There were two single beds, then a separate shower and toilet. There was also a small sitting area with a couch and table. The water was hot and there were clean towels. However, as with any dorm room, the beds were well used (mattress uncomfortable) and the walls were paper-thin. The place was extremely safe.

The property was great. With the main campus gates locked, access to town is not easy without a car. I spent almost 2 hours trying to get to the place. The phone number listed on Expedia page is not the direct number to the receptionist checking in guests. After spending an hours with Expedia agent, we finally got through with a correct phone number. Maybe an accurate driving direction for accessing the property will be great.

Wonderful with such great University students!

Very clean, AC was so cold i think there was ice on the walls. It's part of an old College dorm that has been fixed up just as good as any 3 star hotel for half the price.

Clean, quiet, safe place in contact with nature. Close to restaurants and Buye beach.

It was a great discovery, it’s relative close to Pargueras, Lajas, Boqueron and Joyudas, places that are always crowd and expensives. This hotel have all amenitives, including the black-out cortains, iron board and extras pillows, matres are divine and hot water 24! Since it is inside the Interamericana campus it provide complete security.

Love it, is really cozy and nice. It was great location for what we needed

The facility is great needs improvement in the furniture.

Stay at the hotel was great. Staff is very kind and helpful.

Was confused because online it stated it wasn't available for a second night, but I talked with the front desk and she said there was definitely space. Not sure why there was that confusion. But overall, I'd stay here again! The AC worked great, the rooms were private. Learning which gates were open at the campus was a little confusing but overall workable.

Good for the price

We were pleasantly surprised by how clean and nice our room was! Would definitely come again!

We stayed here for the night as we were traveling the island in two days, the service is amazing and very friendly staff. The room is very spacious and very clean. Really good experience overall.

A little difficult to find as the university campus was closed and the gates locked. However, we were guided in and all was well. Huge room with kitchenette and lots of closet space. Nothing fancy, but laundry service was down the hall and it was a great spot to get to all the southwest PR sights.

The hostel is very comfortable and clean. It is in a nice location and convenient. The price is very reasonable and the staff are available 24/7.

Hotel located inside University facilities, hotel building surrounded by forest and noisless areaaas. Room fitted with A/C, fridge, microwave and coffe maker.

Great for the family for short vacation. Only for sleeping and silence.

It needs some updates. Besides that it was nice and comfortable. Beautiful staff, awesome. They follow up with you until you get to the hotel.
