I stayed in the large room overlooking the ocean. Tall ceiling, wooden balcony, colonial vibes and you could also see the lighthouse from the balcony. It was lovely, just as it was in the pictures online. Galle is tiny so regardless where you stay everything is a short walk.
It was so noisy. The room itself was a 10/10 but the noise from the road and neighbors next door was so much, it was hard to sleep at night.
Booked one bedroom but ended up with the whole villa. Nalin our host was excellent, producing fantastic breakfasts and looking after all our needs, he even did some laundry for us. Location was brilliant, very close to the lighthouse right in the heart of the fort with tourist sites and restaurants all within a short walk. Right next to the beach - we swam every morning before 8am before the crowds arrived.
Nothing
We had the villa to ourselves for the duration (we were the only guests in a three room establishment). The room at the front with its balcony was great for watching the world go by. Ravi was great, attending to our needs, offering advice and even doing our washing. The location could not have been better - inside the dutch colonial fort, plenty of restaurants bars and shops within easy walking distance, beach over the road, juice bar next door, coffee shops metres away. Fantastic.
The 5 o’clock knock from the local military in training shouting ‘hup, hup, hup’ etc in the middle of the night, but short of a revolution we were stuck with that.
The location of Villa Aurora, a few steps from the lighthouse and the walls of the Dutch Fort. You are also less than a few minutes from the Old Hospital and the busy streets where there are plenty of restaurants/bars/shops. It has a nice buzz during the day but is still quiet at night. The Villa itself is huge, spotless and equipped q With everything you need for your stay. The balcony with sea view and lighthouse view is amazing. Nalin the host is on hand to help with anything you need, and he cooked us a lovely breakfast. Lakshika also organised a trip to Udawalawe for us which was first class. Would highly recommend to anyone staying in Galle.
No complaints - we had a great stay!

Beautiful large room with balcony and sea view, perfect location to explore Galle.
Air conditioning blowing directly on the bed, even at lowest fan, made it impossible to use during the night. When A/C turned off, it was too hot to sleep well.
Everything. Excellent staff.
Furnishings could be refreshed; bathroom products could be upgraded.
The location was perfect. Directly overlooking the water and centralized in Galle Fort. The design and style of the villa is very welcoming and makes you feel like it’s your home. Very clean and well maintained property. The best part of the whole stay was Nalin! The property manager who comes by everyday and makes delicious breakfast, cleans and manages the entire villa. Nalin also arranged things for us to do and transportation while in Galle and also when we left for another city. Nalin was very accommodating to anything we needed and even took breakfast requests so we could try different Sri Lankan dishes each day. He made us feel like it was our home for the 3 days we were there and made our stay one of the best my wife and I have had in all our travels!
There was NOTHING we did not like. Everything was perfect!
A beautiful lodging in an historic villa in the old Dutch Fort just a few metres from the lighthouse. The villa sleeps 6 in three rooms although by far the superior room is the top floor apartment which is huge and so comfortable with views of lighthouse and beach. The other two double rooms are very small although the villa can also be booked as a whole having its own fully equipped kitchen. The premises are expertly managed by Nalin who provides a superb continental or Sri Lankan breakfast and attends to guests requirements with great care.

Spacious and comfortable. Our stay was made all the better by Nalin who is a perfect host.
Our stay was superbly hosted by Nalin, who made us feel very welcome and the breakfasts were superb.
There was nothing to dislike.
Perfect location, nice ambience, fantastic staff.
The room I had was very small for a double bed. It filled the whole room, and there was no closet to put clothes in, nor anywhere to hang up clothes. I think the whole place is excellent to rent as a whole (it's a villa), and the rooms on the second floor are fully furnished.
Great location and excellent service from the concierge.
The Villa was beautiful. Nalin was brilliant, so helpful, the perfect host.
Nothing.
