The place is an oasis of peace. Right by the lake it gives you a tranquil vibe, a nice break from the city. It's close to Bancroft wher you can find stores in case you forgot anything. An hour away from Algonquin park easily reachable by car. If you like kayaking you can use their kayaks at no extra charge. I'd definitely rent one of the cabins next time. The breakfast is simple but good, nothing fancy, just what you need for the beginning of the day.

Probably a little more signages pointing to the place from the road would make it much easier to find, but not a big deal.

The location on a lake is wonderful, and the lake is great for swimming. The BBQ and outside tables are useful for larger groups. It was good to have the option of using dishes and cutlery from the main building.

The motel side rooms look dated, they could use a new coat of paint and some renovations. The breakfast was very limited and didn't match the description on the menu.

Die absolut beste Unterkunft unserer gesamten Kanadatour. Wir hatten ein Zimmer im Haupthaus. Der Blick auf den See war fantastisch. Man konnte kostenlos Kanu oder Kajak fahren. Das Schwimmen im See war herrlich. Jeden Abend wurde ein Feuer angemacht. Zum Dinner kann man das eigene Restaurant nutzen.

La struttura si trova proprio sul lago, la nostra stanza affacciava con un meraviglioso balcone sul lago. Stanza pulita e ristrutturata con cura di recente. Ottima colazione e possibilità di avere la cena al ristorante che peraltro era anche molto buona. Personale gentile e check in facile e veloce. assolutamente consigliato.

Bezaubernde Lage direkt am See

Tischreservierung für den Abend im Restaurant kann man als Gast nicht reservieren. Wenn man dann etwas später kommt, muss man erst mal nach Alternativen suchen. De nächsten in Bancroft sind 30 min. entfernt und schließen die Küche zwischen 20 und 21 Uhr.

De kamer is toe aan vernieuwing.

Sehr schöne Lage am See. Wir haben die Möglichkeit genutzt und sind mit dem Kajak ausgefahren und Abends noch etwas am Lagerfeuer am See gesessen. Das Abendessen und Morgenessen haben wir hier eingenommen. Es war sehr gut und das Personal war sehr nett und bemüht.

Mike and his staff did a fantastic job and we were very happy with the accommodations and the friendliness of everyone. Mike made sure all our needs were met personally and we will definitely be vacationing there again.

Lake was beautiful and water was warm. There were kayaks we used and a sandy bottom beach. Newly renovated and very clean.

Water in the shower was lukewarm warm. 22$ breakfast was not included and not worth it. I think for almost $400 a night it should be included. Fee for dog was reasonable.

Peaceful lakeside location with comfortable and well equipped rooms. On site restaurant serves delicious food and drink. Highly recommend.

We have stayed at this hotel five or six times before, and we’ve always enjoyed our experience. Because we liked it so much, we recommended it to our friends and booked a one-night stay together. Unfortunately, this visit was very disappointing. Each of our families has one child. When booking through Booking.com, we clearly indicated that we were traveling with one child, and we booked king rooms because our children sleep with us and do not require an extra bed. However, at check-in, we were told that we had to pay an additional fee for our children. After we showed our reservation and spoke with the manager, the manager handled the situation respectfully and confirmed that no extra fee was required. We were then given breakfast vouchers, but were told that breakfast was only included for the adults and that we would have to pay extra for the children. The next morning, we asked why, since our reservation included the children. We were again told that there would be an additional charge. The breakfast itself was very disappointing. The buffet only had cold potatoes, sausage, bacon, a very small amount of berries (which ran out quickly), butter, and cheese. There were no eggs available. When we asked, we were initially told that we could order eggs from the menu. My husband has dietary restrictions, so he requested a boiled egg. At first, the restaurant staff said that would be possible, but a few minutes later Mike came to our table and said they do not make boiled eggs. He also told us that the only egg option available was scrambled eggs, despite what we had been told earlier. Because the breakfast selection was so limited, one adult from each room chose not to eat so the children could have whatever food was available. In the end, the children barely ate anything anyway.

Every thing except customer service

We have stayed at this hotel five or six times before and have always had a great experience, which is why we recommended it to our friends and booked a stay together. Unfortunately, this visit was very disappointing. At check-in, we were incorrectly told we had to pay extra for our children, even though our Booking.com reservation clearly included them. After speaking with the manager, the fee was waived. We were then told breakfast was only included for adults, and the breakfast itself was very poor, with very limited options and inconsistent information from the staff. The biggest disappointment was the customer service from Mike. He was unhelpful, dismissive, and rude throughout our stay. His attitude made us feel unwelcome, which was especially upsetting as returning guests who had brought four friends based on our previous positive experiences. The hotel is still clean and comfortable, but the service this time did not reflect the high standard we had come to expect. We hope management addresses these issues so future guests have a better experience.

On behalf of my friend in room 2 Our experience at Somerset Lake Resort was disappointing. From the moment we arrived, the staff did not seem welcoming or friendly. It often felt like they were helping guests reluctantly rather than genuinely trying to provide good service. Customer service and hospitality are a big part of any resort experience, and unfortunately, this was lacking during our visit.

Soms heb je van die plekken die je altijd zullen bijblijven. Dit is zo’n plek! Een heerlijke plek om vanuit hier de omgeving te verkennen. Het personeel is ongelofelijk aardig. Geniet van de prachtige zonsondergang terwijl je uitkijkt over de lake! Een dikke aanrader om hier te verblijven!

Only the highway signage is poor—we drove past it and it was still difficult to locate when we turned around. It deserves to be found!

Es war der perfekte Stop auf unserer Reise! Es war das große Highlight für uns! So viel Natur, der See, die Ruhe - einfach atemberaubend. Vielen lieben Dank an Mike, der einem jeden Wunsch erfüllt hat und für tolle Gespräche da war! Wir werden uns mit Sicherheit irgendwann Wiedersehen!

We stayed in Room #4 with a sweet little outdoor balcony facing the sunset over the lake. The Room was very updated decor, exceptionally clean, quiet and super comfortable firm king size bed. Everything was perfect for a restful evening after exploring the trails and parks near Bancroft. Breakfast was delicious and made to order by Mike who is amazing.

The only small thing would have been instructions to turn off the little info screen in the room, it was a bit bright for overnight. We just turned in face down and it was fine, didn't want to bother the staff after hours about how to turn it off.

The resort is located in an absolutely gorgeous setting! We had a deck to look over the lake at sunset. There was a lot of areas open to sit outside. And so quiet!! And a little living room area with lots of games if the weather doesn’t agree.

Be prepared as you will have to drive to anything you need. A few days of total relaxation comes along with a little bit of isolation too. Not bad, just be prepared.

Mooi gelegen accommodatie met fantastische host. Aan de waterkant van het meer, met een aanlegsteiger en vuurplaats om van de sunset te genieten. Omdat het een kleinschalige accommodatie is, is het een prima plek om van de rust en de natuur te genieten.

Wunderschöne Lage, direkt am See! Sehr netter Gastgeber mit guten Tips! Man muss halt mobil sein aber ich denke, besonders bei noch wärmeren Temperaturen ein richtiges Highlight!

It's a beautiful property & the room we had was really nice. We had a balcony & easy room access via a side door. Lovely fire pit area.

The bed & the pillows were not at all comfortable. The mattress was very hard. We love a firm mattress but this was just plain hard.

We stayed in a motel room but wished we booked a cottage. Room was large and clean but the cottages are right on the water. We sat on the dock most of the visit. At one point the manager started a bon fire. It was perfect. Hopefully will stay there again, but in a cottage?

It's just off the highway and comes up on you very quickly if you've never been there before. Very minor.

It is just in front of a lake so you can do canoe or kayak. It's a very quiet area so it is great if you want to relax.

We stayed in a bungalow with a full kitchen. If you are planning to cook, you might want to take a few things with you. We found that there is not a lot of supplies to cook, we couldn't use the oven because there were no baking trays, and the pots are very oldw. The bed was not that comfortable Be aware that you need to put all the dishes in the covers before checking out or there is an extra charge.

Das Hotel ist wunderschön und ruhig am See gelegen mit Steg und Feuerstelle. Super Sonnenuntergang! Das Essen am Abend war sehr fein und der Service sehr nett.

Wenn in der Küche gekocht wurde, hatten wir den ganzen Küchengeruch im Zimmer, was nicht so angenehm war. Wollten am 2. Abend nochmals im Restaurant essen, doch es gab nur Take out wegen Personalmangel.

Een hele fijne kamer met balkon en uitzicht over de lake. Een koffie/thee bar met koelkast en magnetron op de gang beschikbaar. In de avond aan het water een campfire om gezellig aan te zitten.

Jammer dat ik niet langer kon blijven. :)

The King suite room we were put in ,was next to the coffee machine and microwave .Microwave and coffee machine noises are pretty clear at 6am which isn't a great experience .Would prefer quiter rooms .

Clean room and great staff service! The property definitely has a rustic feel and some aspects of the room felt a bit older or outdated, however, it is clear they put a lot of effort into cleaning the space! The only downside of the room was the beds weren't the comfiest. It was a great stay overall for the few nights I was there!

The king suite was absolutely beautiful and spacious with a very comfortable bed and ample space to organize our belongings.

Wonderful little restaurant right on site so we did not have to drive anywhere. We arrived a little late but restaurant stayed open until 9pm. Food was delicious and enjoyed the woman who served us Carla… She was great!!!

Das Dock am Wasser und das abendliche Lagerfeuer dort ergeben eine wunderbare Atmosphäre. Das Essen war auch diesmal wieder sehr gut.

Die Betten in den Cabins, zumindest in unserer, sind für groß gewachsene Menschen zu kurz.
