Das Abendessen im Restaurant war sehr gut. Personal sehr nett.
War schon etwas älter bzw das Bad war leider nicht ganz so sauber.
Location was great, restaurant was very nice with good food
Well cared for older property. More like a motel with much better food and beverage.
Water in room is non-potable but bottled water is provided in the room and staff are happy to fill water bottles. Rooms are tight but functional.
The room was spotless. Good restaurant. Nice continental breakfast.
Great breakfast. Friendly staff. Large clean room with comfy bed.
The Alavon Inn is a beautiful spot, we spent 1 night in this hotel to break up our trip between Aquaforte and Placentia. The staff are so friendly, a special mention to Colleen who goes over and above to make you feel welcome, food was excellent and the place was spotlessly clean. I would highly recommend.
Nothing
There was a restaurant on site. There are no other places to eat at
It needs to be updated. No air conditioning in the rooms. Flooring needs to be replaced
Bed was comfy, room was very clean. We ate at the restaurant (only one on the vicinity) - breakfast and dinner - was decent. The women in charge were super friendly & attentive.
We arrived on a sunny day, the room was vers stuffy and hot. No AC. Did open the window and it cooled down nicely. Sea view seems to be a bit exaggerated…. See pic.
It was well stocked, good, simple breakfast. The staff are amazing.
Very clean, comfortable rooms, super helpful staff. Morning continental breakfast included juice, fruit, toast, muffins, waffles, bagels, tea and coffee. Location was a good stop over for touring the Irish Loop. Restaurant was good and reasonably priced. There was a lovely garden to sit in. Very quiet at night which was good because we had the windows open and the fan going at night during the hot spell ( no A/C).
Nothing
Dinners were excellent. Freshly made. Very quiet and staff were wonderful and accomodating
Nothing.
Clean and comfortable with a beautiful view from the dining room.
All good.
The Edge of Avalon Inn is a wonderful place with friendly and helpful staff and it has a lovely restaurant. We had a good stay here and recommended this to fellow travelers.
We liked everything.
Lovely property, great views, lovely artwork, comfortable beds… Lovely restaurant…
Good accomm, good food, helpful friendly staff. Could not ask for more.

The place was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was delicious!
The volume on the TV didn’t work properly.
Great restaurant. The rooms being all on one level was convenient. The outside area with lots of seats and corn-hole was excellent.
Beds were against the wall. If the room is too small, just put one bed.
Very clean and a beautiful back garden for guest. Staff very friendly and accommodating!
Stopped for lunch Excellent range of food Service top notch
We stayed two nights, a basic room on the ground floor. Nice staff, comfortable room. The on site restaurant is good, and just as well as there are no other restaurants in the area. Live entertainment as well. Much of the population of Tepassey moved away after the local fish plant closed 33 years ago. We visited Cape Race and the Myrick Interpretive Centre. St. Vincent's for whale watching and Mistaken Point are not far away.

A good location and very convenient.
Scraping noises from the chairs in the Restaurant below. Received the wrong room on check-in, but this was rectified after significant discussion. Choice of breakfast was extremely limited.
We were treated to a lovely stay at the Edge of the Avalon Inn in July 2026. The staff is incredibly friendly and the hospitality is top-notch. We stayed in the Cape Pine Lighthouse Suite. Our room was immaculately clean with a view of the harbour. The bathroom is very nice and well appointed. The room was advertised as a King but the bed is queen size, which was fine for us. The room was very quiet at night. Having the on-site restaurant was so relaxing and convenient after a long drive along the Irish Loop. They even offered to leave sandwiches in our room if we didn't arrive from sightseeing before the kitchen closed! We tried several menu items and the fish & chips were hands down the best we had in NL. The atmosphere was the highlight of our visit. Patrons were travelers and locals alike and it made us feel like we were part of the community. Highly recommend if you are stopping in Trepassey or visiting Mistaken Point. A good value and a perfect taste of Newfoundland hospitality.
Super Lage, super nettes Personal, sehr gutes Frühstück, leckeres Abendessen, großes neues Zimmer mit großem Bad
Hébergement et restaurant au même endroit
Perfect stopover when touring South Avalon. Very welcoming friendly team, comfortable cosy room. Small bathroom with shower over bath. All very clean. Easy parking. Great food, for dinner in the restaurant (huge freshly made pizza), and plenty for the continental breakfast included.
Breakfast was plentiful and very accommodating staff

Very well appointed room, bathroom was spacious. Everything was immaculately clean. Gave extremely cozy vibes

This was our second visit and we are always treated so very well. The staff are very friendly and ready to help. The rooms are always clean and comfortable.
Dinner was packed and I don’t think they had enough staff to deal with the amount of people in the room.
Lovely place. Very friendly staff. Amazing food.
Ils ont ouvert le restaurant pour nous. Il fesait froid, vent brouillard en moto.
All good
We arrived at the Inn around 6 pm. The dining room was very full but they made a space for us. There was some entertainment that evening. A lovely woman who was talented and could play many instruments. There was also a group of students from BC on a school trip. They were lovely young people who participated in the entertainment and had fun. Our meal was very good and the musical evening surpassed our expectations. An excellent place to stay with very friendly staff.
The view from the restaurant in beautiful and there is great local pictures all over.
The room wasn’t very clean. The floor hadn’t been thoroughly swept or vacuumed and the bed sheets were stained. The catch of the day was overdone to the point it was chewy. I couldn’t eat most of it and it was quite expensive. The garden salad was good.
Dining staff
Room was damp and it affected my breathing.
Was a great check in, even though we arrived late. Very nice.
We stayed in the upstairs ‘Cape Pine Suite’. We loved our stay at this upscale boutique hotel. The suite had many luxury features/furnishings. Extremely clean suite with very comfortable bed. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the service was very friendly! The inn is right beside the road but there’s very little traffic and none at night at all. This place is an art gallery as well!
Breakfast was plain and uninteresting.
very good breakfast helpful waiter
Unclean water. Not safe to drink
This is a very popular spot and for good reason. The restaurant is always busy because the food is so good. I had a fresh lobster. The room was very comfortable and the staff went out of their way to make our stay rewarding. Janet, our waitress, was very attentive and gave us directions to a great little site up ahead. At the back of the property there's a beautiful little garden in which you can sit and in the morning there's a delicious continental breakfast. I would have no hesitation in recommending this inn.
Restaurant and staff were great.
The room was spacious and clean!
Perfect for a short getaway — clean, quiet, and excellent service.
Friendly, helpful, welcoming staff..
Continental, complimentary breakfast was a fine addition...
We went from St. John all the way down to Trepassey. The day was kind of the foggy and overcast. We noticed a few cars in front of the Inn and stopped for a beer. Inside the Irish or Newfoundland music was performed so we stayed longer and also grabbed something to eat. The food and local beer were very good. The music perfect for the weather and location.
La gentillesse et la propreté
The staff were very helpful, kind and welcoming, my time there was very restful.
The staff was friendly and the room was clean. Breakfast was delicious.
Stopped here while driving the Irish Loop and we were so glad we did. A lovely and clean restaurant with delightful service. The cod and chicken were freshly and perfectly fried for our sandwiches. I wish other fried fish restaurant could replicate the light and crispy coating of the fish- that stayed on the filet until the very end! There was a lovely view of the water, but it was the people and the food that made it really special.
Beautiful accomodations. Very friendly staff. Food was fantastic. I would highly recommend
Cutest Inn in a lovely area on the Irish Loop. The staff at the hotel were all so friendly especially Linda and Colleen and we appreciated their hard work and hospitality. Would absolutely recommend staying here.
We enjoyed our stay and our dinner in the restaurant.
Staff were very friendly, everything was exactly as promised. Great stay
From the comfortable rooms to the delicious food at the restaurant.
Impressed with the staff. All were very friendly and helpful. Meals were exceptional and good value. We really enjoyed our 5 night stay and highly recommend the edge of the Avalon inn
Unfortunately, our experience on September 14, 2025 was not aligned to other reviews on here. Although the folks were friendly, the dinner we ate, which included the fried cod dinner and my spouse had the clubhouse, we both got sick, but mine was far worse, violent food poisoning actions from both ends about 1-2 hours after dinner. And to make matters worse, the bathroom door in room 9 would not close, which made a very uncomfortable and embarrassing situation. Lastly the bed was very hard and uncomfortable. I don't know why all the reviews are good, certainly wasn't our experience. And when I raised the food issue the next morning, it was quickly dismissed by the individual, stating that no one else had issues. Would not recommend, unfortunately there isn't much choice for accommodation on the south end of the Avalon
We had a wonderful stay at The Inn. We were travelling the Irish Loop and it was the perfect midpoint for us. I highly recommend the restaurant. The staff were wonderful and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable.
Breakfast was a continental breakfast . I don't think breakfast is a huge thing in Newfoundland anyway. The evening meal that we had at the restaurant was delicious (Cod and chips) and special regards to the waiting staff who were busy but accomplished everything with smiles and conversation.
Couldn't fault this hotel
Older place for sure. Lovely outside gardens. Only stayed one night, restaurant was short staffed so lady was tired and let us know it. Food was good. Breakfast was good and hot.
Quiet and clean with warm and friendly staff
Very nice staff/owners. Very informal atmosphere as with visiting friends!
It is nicely organized, despite the remote location that Trepassey is and had possibly the best restaurant in the area managed by the same family in the property.
Trepassey is not a booming city! Edge of Avalon Inn is the only real option you have. Staff was amazing … fish and chips were best we’ve ever had… a quaint place!
Beautiful rooms. Great location to mistake point.
