The hotel website states that breakfast is served from 0730, whereas it was not served until 0800, so we got away later than expected.

Airco was een mobiele airco met slang naar buiten. Niet erg effectief als het warm is…. Kom ‘‘s nachts niet aan vanwege het lawaai dat het apparaat maakt. Maar dit is het enige minpuntje. Verder was het voortreffelijk!

Yes, everything is a bit old, but if you enjoy the charm of romance and nostalgia in a place arranged with real taste, you’ll feel right at home. Sure, you can spot a few imperfections if you look for them (the heat in the rooms is the biggest one), but taken as a whole, the hotel is truly delightful. We honestly felt like royalty — especially during the delicious breakfast. I also loved the little fridge with drinks at very fair prices, available 24 hours a day, and the terrace that all guests can use. It’s small, warm, and full of character — a place that stays with you.

We were provided with a mobile aircon unit in the bedroom, but we had extremely high temperatures and it was insufficient

Das Zimmer im Dachstock war ein Backofen. Das Klimagerät so laut, dass an Schlafen nicht zu denken war. Der Abluftschlauch musste aus dem offenen Fenster zur lärmigen Strasse hängen. Angesichts der extremen Temperaturen wäre ein Ventilator das Mindeste gewesen.

Wij vroegen om twee éénpersoons bedden. Het was één tweepersoonsbed en één tweepersoons slaapbank en daardoor was de kamer ook helemaal vol. Nauwelijks ruimte om te zitten, of te lopen. Beneden wel prettig terras.

Kan het hotel niets aan doen, maar wakker worden door keiharde film muziek buiten op zaterdagmorgen 6 uur die zo'n half uur aanhield is niet fijn.

Een airco zou wel aangenaam zijn geweest bij het erg warme weer. Het bad was wat klein en een aparte douche ruimte is comfortabeler.

Reviewed May 30, 2026Ein entzückendes kleines Hotel in zentraler, aber ruhiger Lage. Das Zimmer war großzügig, das Bett sehr bequem. Alles war sehr sauber. Es gibt einen netten kleinen Frühstücksraum mit leckerem, liebevoll zubereitetem Frühstück, ebenso einen immer zugänglichen geschützten Innenhof. Die Kommunikation mit den Hotelmitarbeitenden war schnell, einfach und sehr freundlich.

Reviewed May 21, 2026The hotel is centrally located in the historic center of Leuven. It is a walk from the railway station if you are on foot. It is a small property, which is ideal if you prefer a small-scale, home-like environment. The terrace looked lovely, though the weather prevented me from using it. I had breakfast there once and it was enjoyable, with well-prepared food. Everything was very clean, including the sheets, towels, bathroom, and toilet, which was important to me. The booking process was smooth and I had no issues during my stay.
The room was small and packed with too much furniture. It was fine for me alone, but it is too small for two people and would be better with a single bed. The worst part was the wall-to-wall carpet. It looked like a 1970s carpet that was 50 years old and just looked dirty. I also didn't think it was safe to have a small fridge sitting directly on that carpet. The furniture felt like a random mix of styles, from a 1930s nightstand and a 1950s desk to a 90s chair and a modern IKEA bed frame. The bathroom was Scandinavian and minimalist, but the room lacked any harmony. Also, the curtains were very thick. Since the room looked out onto other windows, I had to choose between having natural light or keeping my privacy. The privacy sticker on the window was too small to be useful, so people across the garden could see right in.

Het personeel wist niet dat er dat weekend de marathon van Leuven zou zijn. Het hotel lag midden in het parcours was dus sommige gasten konden de stad niet meer met hun auto verlaten. Zij hadden anders de avond van te voren hun auto kunnen verplaatsen.

Reviewed Apr 12, 2026Het ligt gunstig voor het centrum en bezienswaardigheden zoals de Kruidtuin en het Grote Begijnhof. Parkeren bij het hotel kan op een paar betaalde plekken. Het vraagt wel stuurmanskunst om je auto op deze plek te krijgen. De kamer die we hadden was ruim maar onder het schuine dak. Het gangetje naar de badkamer en suite moet je bukken om je hoofd niet te stoten. Het ontbijt staat op tijd klaar en is prima, behalve de te kort gekookte eieren.
De kamer stonk af en toe en het werd niet duidelijk waardoor dat kwam. Met de ramen open was de lucht zo weg maar als je terugkwam van weggeweest dan was de lucht er af en toe weer. Het personeel is vriendelijk maar spreekt slecht Nederlands. De koelkast op de kamer was niet schoon. De eieren bij het ontbijt waren niet goed gekookt en koud.

Prijs/kwaliteit is niet helemaal in verhouding. Tapijt is wel echt aan vervanging toe, ziet er niet fris uit en geeft apart luchtje.
